Out-of-State Buyer Beware - Undisclosed Damage on a $38,000 Vehicle and Zero Accountability…read more I purchased a Kia Telluride for over $38,000 from this dealership as an out-of-state buyer and paid $750 for enclosed vehicle shipping. The transaction closed quickly and payment was wired in full. When the vehicle arrived Friday night, it was delivered dirty on the exterior, despite enclosed transport. Once inspected properly in daylight, I discovered significant warping and paint damage on the rear spoiler. This defect was not disclosed, not visible in the listing photos, and not identified in the third-party pre-purchase inspection I paid for. The inspection company later refunded me, acknowledging they missed it. I immediately documented the issue with photos and video and contacted the dealership. I reached out to:    *   Chanda (Salesperson)    *   Nathan Baysek (Used Car Manager)    *   Calvin (Internet Sales Manager)    *   Will Kraft (General Sales Manager)    *   And ultimately the General Manager For days, no one responded to emails or calls. After continued escalation, Will Kraft finally contacted me and confirmed that management and the GM reviewed the photos and decided to do nothing, stating that because I paid for a pre-purchase inspection, the dealership would not assist in any way. To be clear:    *   This was a $38,000+ vehicle    *   The damage was present at delivery    *   It was not disclosed prior to sale    *   It was not visible in marketing photos    *   The vehicle arrived dirty, further obscuring the issue The vehicle itself is mechanically fine, but the lack of disclosure, refusal to stand behind the condition of a high-dollar vehicle, and complete breakdown in communication was unacceptable. If you are buying locally and can inspect the car yourself, your experience may differ. If you are buying remotely, understand that once the dealership has your money and the vehicle is delivered, you are on your own. This was a conscious decision by management not to address an undisclosed issue on a $38,000 vehicle.

I just had to get rid of some. They were willing to pay (albeit not much) and would take the cars. I believe they were listed on a site that compares rates for local used car buyers. I would sell 2 cars: a Mazda and a Lexus (I think. It's been a long time since these cars have been driven). In total, I was given a bit over $600 for the two of them. I think the price is okay given these are all older than 2010, they are somewhat beat up, and the condition is not that great all in all. Why should you settle for a price like that? Honestly, it will help you free up your garage and just give you some cash. These cars would have kept deprecating in value if I hadn't done anything with them. The guys here were friendly and patient. They were fair and went from online estimate to handing the cash in just a few days. Another added bonus: they were able to come from their Babcock Blvd location to Verona to pick up the cars! So, if you've got some junk cars, this is a good company to sell them to. Don't expect much cash, but it's better than nothing.

While there were initial concerns, these were promptly addressed. Nevertheless, in January, the vehicle's engine failed at approximately 51,000 miles. The dealership retained my vehicle for a month and subsequently informed me that the repair, estimated at $21,000, would not be covered under warranty. Upon transferring the vehicle to an alternative dealership, a resubmission of the warranty claim resulted in its approval. I perceive this situation as a significant misrepresentation and a disregard for customer satisfaction. Upon receiving copies of previous work orders I also found out this was a rental car but when we purchased the car we were told it had 1 previous owner I feel they were deceptive from the very begining and I would be very leary using them.

Do you see how many people that have left a NEGATIVE review about this business? BELIEVE IT! Don't waste your time or moneyl The person who we dealt with, Joe in particular, was the most UNPROFESSIONAL businessman that I've ever dealt with. My mother and myself left after trying to negotiate a deal with Joe . We mentioned to Joe that we wanted to take the car that my mother liked so much, to her mechanic. Right away he starts badmouthing my moms mechanic. When I heard this AND ANOTHER badmouthing coming out of his mouth about a certain Car Lot, I Thought to myself WHY? HER MECHANIC has so many good reviews. He has SO MANY 5 STAR reviews written about him and Joe is badmouthing him!! North Hills Auto Mart has as many 1 STAR reviews (or no stars that people wanted to give this business) as my mothers mechanic has 5 star reviews. What EVERY REVIEW posted about this business, BELIEVE IT. My elderly mother and myself will look elsewhere for a car for her, and no doubt we will be dealing with more professional salespeople. I'm glad we walked away without a car from this business, and we are looking forward to buying a car from a reputable car lot with Professional people who work there. Before you think about buying a car from North Hill Auto Mart, you need to read all the reviews about this place. You will see what I'm talking about. By the way, my mothers mechanic is Michael Johnson. Truly a trustworthy business owner with a lot of 5 Star reviews.

The brakes were working just fine for us so we declined the service. We took the rear tire off and discovered that the issue wasn't the entire caliper, it was the E-Brake cable bracket. A little PB blaster and WD-40 fixed it right up. They wanted to charge us $600+ for something that was fixed for $8. Overall, they LOOK for something to charge you for in order to pass inspection. Only go here if you want to be scammed. Edit in response to business response: The brake cable connects to a bracket on the outside of the caliper (picture included). This bracket is attached to a physical cable in order separate this actuation method from the brake pedal which works via hydraulic actuation. When we received the vehicle, the brake cable was unattached so I think that's what you mean by "much better condition". The bracket was also stuck in the open position. Therefore it was not engaging the caliper in order to compress the brake pads against the rotor. This was verified by viewing the caliper actuation when the brake pedal was pressed. So I disagree strongly that it was stuck in the on position for the entirety of the inspection. In fact, in the pictures sent to me, you can clearly see it's in the open position. It was obvious to me that the caliper was in working order and the problem lie elsewhere. The jiggling handle went away after I re-attached the brake cable. So I guess I should thank you for diagnosing it, but not for trying to sell me a replacement when all it needed was a repair. I agree it wouldn't and shouldn't pass inspection before some penetrating oil was sprayed on the bracket. I'd also like to add that the person who explained the problem to me barely knew anything about the issue when questioned on specifics. All I got was "it's seized". This was another indicator that there was a severe gap in knowledge for some of your technicians and I needed to scrutinize the result. I am a car enthusiast, engineer, and have rebuilt the front end on my Cooper. I know what I'm talking about.
