I'm kind of baffled by all the positive reviews for this company. We have had consistent problems…read morewith Patriot since not long after we started using them in 2022. The weekly pool service is generally fine, but if anything goes even remotely wrong (which it will because they're scaling rapidly and training new folks), Patriot is nowhere to be found. In the time we've been using them, they've incorrectly cleaned our filter twice, stained our white pool tiles, and caused our skimmer to operate incorrectly. It has been pulling teeth to get them to return to fix it - many calls over many weeks, and at present, our skimmer and pool tile are still not resolved. In the case of the skimmer, our pool has an in-ground cleaning system and generally stays crystal clear throughout the spring months. Twice now, Patriot has come to clean the filter, and the skimmer has stopped operating immediately after. The first time, a tech returned a week or so later and told us their filter crew had forgotten to switch something to do with the skimmer back on (it was immediately fixed once he corrected it). This time, it stopped operating correctly immediately after the filter-cleaning again (same timing, same issue) and Patriot (after failing to return our calls, then sending people who weren't trained to investigate or resolve the issue three separate times) is telling us there's nothing wrong. This has been going on for well over a month at this point, and apparently we're going to need to pay someone else to come out and fix it. In the case of the pool tile (see pics below) Patriot acknowledged fault for the issue, and tried a number of tactics to resolve it, none of which worked. So it seems we're stuck with the stains. There are lots of pool companies in Austin. I'd recommend you go with a company that stands behind their work and fixes their mistakes.

Their people are unreliable and inexperienced, they have caused several thousands of dollars or damage to our pool through their negligence and our pool has been mostly unusable this summer because of the issues caused by their team. We have been waiting on a resolution from them on fixing the damage for several months now.

HARD PASS. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL!…read more Moved to a new house and shopping for pool service. Submitted an online request on their website Wednesday around 9 AM. Out of the 5 companies I submitted a request to, they were the 2nd ones I reached out to but the last ones to reach out back to me (excluding the auto-generated "thank you" text which the other pool companies sent as well). Lisa from the office called me Wednesday at 5:38 PM and said she could have a tech come out the next day to give me a quote. Jose came out Thursday around noon. He was super nice and professional. He said he would get me 3 different quotes for the 3 type of packages they offer by the end of the day or the next day (Friday) in the morning at the latest. By Friday at 4:25 PM, I had yet to receive anything so I called and spoke to Lisa and she said they'll send it over shortly. They sent 2 quotes (not 3) at 4:40 PM. Monday morning at 10 AM, I called to discuss the quotes for further clarification, especially since the links weren't working. Lisa said she's going to call Jose and call me right back. She never did. Tuesday morning at 8:28 AM, almost a week after I had initially reached out, I called saying they never called me back and asked to speak to a manager. She put me on the phone with Jose and he was a totally different person than the guy that came out to the house. He kept interrupting me and talking over me. He was rude saying I didn't know anything about pools (that might be true but this is not my first house with a pool and that's not something you'd say to a prospective client), and making excuses for their lack of responsiveness. If they're this bad when they're trying to earn my business, I can't imagine how bad they are once they do earn it. Reading some of their other reviews, I should've just never reached out to begin with. TLDR: Unresponsive, unprofessional/rude, overpromise/underdeliver. Ended up going with a different pool company that responded right away and was able to get me on the schedule immediately.

STAY AWAY!!!! If…read moreyou want incompetent workers, who leave trash on property, men who do NOT communicate things at all, dump unwanted sand all over your grass to smother the grass, ring the doorbell incessantly, look no further. They were tasked with emptying our pool's sand filtration system, and as per the line items on the agreement it SAYS 'remove sand and haul off property." So what did these guys do? They DUMPED the entire sand contents onto our grass property next to the pool house. I was livid. We were not informed they'd be doing this (nor did we want random sand spread ALL over our lawn!?), and then they just left like we wouldn't notice mounds of sand?! It wasnt even dumped in one spot, it was SPREAD all over our property like someone was building a sand pit. They left trash next to our pool and around our pool house area (zip ties, cut tubing, screws). I have a 1 year old who eats everything so as a mother, this is obviously insane someone would leave choking hazards around. Not to mention leaving trash in general is unbelievable unprofessional. It was packaging for the pool lights. Oh boy lets talk about that! They installed new pool lights, tested it extensively while here, only for my husband and I to try them out and realize 1 of them flickered like crazy and flat out stopped working. What on earth was this guy testing all that time during the day!? One guy came to do all the chemicals in the pool after fully draining it to pressure wash the pool, he didn't even have a vacuum to remove all the dang sand. He CLAIMS he was informed of it too late and he was already on his way. Don't care, unprofessional, yet again. You mess something up, you fix it immediately. Any respectable company would do this. It's been a week and they said they'd be back to vacuum up the sand on monday. Come Monday, did anyone show up? NOPE. Not even a phone call saying they cannot make it. I'm so pissed Ace Hardware has the audacity to display these guys' business on their front doors, btw. The Ace in Georgetown. Laziest worst communicating business I've ever encountered. These guys are the absolute WORST bothersome stressful group of men I've ever seen run a 'business'. I've lost sleep over how awful these guys are. UPDATE: they came today to "clean up the sand", check the photos. Plenty of sand still present. They clearly didn't vacuum it like promised. I saw the beardy employee just sweep it around looks like he used dirt and leaves to spread it around on top of the sand still present. This isn't even fine sand, it's incredibly thick! What a joke.

Anyone who has a pool understands the challenges with cleaning and maintenance. Moreover, it seems…read morethat most, or all pool service companies struggle to provide consistent and reliable service to all of their customers. We have used Hines for several years now, and are generally happy with the service and support we receive. That said, we have had multiple cleaning techs on our account since hiring Hines. A few techs have not been good/helpful, creating extra work for us, and on occasion, have caused unnecessary damage to our pool/pool equipment. I'm writing this review today to call out a couple of people at Hines that really stand out in delivering outstanding customer service and ultimately outstanding results for our pool.   Gabe M is our current cleaning technician. He's extremely bright and friendly, and he works really hard to do a good job for his customers. What really stands out is his communication with us -- he is GREAT about keeping us in the loop about when he is coming and what is happening with our pool. If he is unsure about something with the pool, he will ask a superior, or take the time to research if needed, which gives us a lot of confidence in his work! He is also great with our FOUR dogs and always shuts the gate for their safety, etc. When the pool needs repairs, we can't say enough about Chris O!!  We have the Intellichem system. It is awesome when used correctly, but it is definitely challenging and not common on non-commercial pools.   Chris O really knows his way around  pools and pool equipment - including the Intellichem, and has helped us MANY TIMES over the years to correctly identify and quickly remedy issues.Thank you Chris, we really appreciate you! Our pool currently looks better than it has in a long time, and with Gabe and Chris from Hines, we really feel like our pool is in capable hands! Thank you Gabe and Chris for your hard work and dedication!

Removed my old and non functioning pool heater. Replaced my old chlorinator with a brand new Salt System Chlorinator that I bought from another company. All done in a couple of hours and now my pool water never looked so good and cristal clear. Thank You Chris, from Hines Pool. This business will get my money everytime I need pool work done.

Nick and team came highly recommended by my pool crew and a neighbour, but I did my dilligence and shopped around anyway. The Austin Leak Detection team were the most responsive and the most diligent. I had already performed the bucket test so knew I was losing more than .5"/day which is the threshold for them to come out. It was a couple of weeks before they could come out, but Forest and team were on time (texted me in advance), very polite and friendly. Within an hour they had checked all my lines, identified the leak and finished checking the other lines to confirm it was the only line leaking. They gave me a reasonable quote on the spot and offered to come back and fix it but also left it up to me if I'd rather shop around. The quote was low enough that it made sense to have them complete the job. The actual repair involved breaking open a smallish 1-ft hold under my pool deck and digging down to expose the leaking pipe. It was quickly repaired and the entire system re-tested to make sure there's no further leaking. They patched it back up and matched the color/stones of my deck to make it less obvious there's been a repair. It looks as good as it could and I appreciate their efforts there as my pool deck is rather old and not in the best of shape to begin with. After they left I filled a bucket again, marked with a pencil inside the skimmer basket and after 3 days not a drop of difference. Time will tell, but they reminded me that the warranty their work for a year. All in all, a great outcome and I can highly recommend the team at Austin Leak Detection!

We were recommended specifically to Austin Leak Detection by someone who had done similar work in the Austin area for decades & recently retired-- he had experience with most leak detection companies here & spoke extremely highly of Nick and his Austin Leak Detection team. We were fortunate to get on their schedule & they actually found (and repaired) two leaks in our pool. Our experience was very positive start to finish, below are some specific observations: Communication: 5/5. All our calls & emails were promptly returned & Nick (the owner) personally talked us through all the specifics & helped us understand their process & what to expect. Once the leaks were detected, all options for repair were explained (including cost conscious options). Transparency: 5/5. Every step on the process is clearly explained, including both the work performed & the prospective cost, and the techs took detailed notes & afterward provided everything to us. Professionalism: 5/5. The techs (Dylan & Zac) were punctual & always extremely polite, explaining their work & gladly answering any of our (many) questions. All our calls/texts were promptly returned & the team was very respectful of the pool area & our yard. Results: 5/5. Ultimately, this is what matters. We actually had two leaks & both were repaired, with warranties for the fixes. These guys know their craft & took care of everything-- both detection of the leak & also repair. We were very impressed.
