Stay away from Denali pools at all cost. Absolutely worst experience ever. Have built a pool before and previous experience was nothing like this. I mean absolutely horrible. - They destroyed our entire back yard. Over sprayed concrete by yards and yards and killed grass not even near the pool. Building a pool is messy, but this was way beyond messy - You will need to be the foreman on the job throughout building process - the actual foreman checks nothing. They forgot a whole bench when pouring guinite and had to redo, put wrong grout in and had to redo, poured steps wrong size and had to redo, ran the electrical outlet that was supposed to be on side of the deck up thru top of deck. When pointing it the foreman said we could just put a piece of furniture over it to cover it. Yes you read that right - he told me to put a piece of furniture to cover it up instead of where it should have been. I made them redo and they can try and deny it, but I have the text messages. - Crews dumped concrete overpour on our landscaping rocks - we pointed it out to foreman. They stopped doing that, but then walked my property and on the back side of my property they just started dumping the waste there. - Sales rep says he will be your advocate throughout the process, but after deal is signed - he will not return emails or calls he is done with you. You can copy the owner as well and he will not respond to you either. read more

We started researching pool companies in early 2024. After interviewing a few different ones we ultimately decided to move forward with Denali. For pricing they landed roughly in the middle of the quotes we received but what really set them apart was the level of professionalism, collaboration, and patience as we worked through the process. We started design in early December 24, finalized the contract in January 25, and had permits by the end of February. From then on it took roughly 4 months to complete construction so we were swimming by mid July. Special shout out to our PM, Scott Sperrazza, who was amazing through the whole process. He was on site each morning supervising construction, providing advice and guidance, and helping to correct minor issues before they became problems. He was super responsive to any questions that we had and it really felt like he was an advocate for us when adjustments were needed. He treated our pool build like it was his own. I'd give him 6 stars if I could. Building a pool is an enormous investment of time, money, and stress. Save yourself the trouble and just go with Denali. I replaced a swimming pool due to ASR with a new Denali Pool. Part of the original travertine patio was removed and re-installed during the construction process. The new pool is higher than the old pool which has created a slope from the pool and towards the original patio pavers which creates ponding of water and looks unlevel. I have tried to resolve this issue with Denali at lengths, but they have not agreed to re-level the patio and expect me to live with it. I am obtaining quotes to have this fixed and I do not wish to have ponding and drainage issues. In addition, my sales person recommended abalone shells be added to the plaster for sparkle and I loved this idea. They abalone was never added and my sales person Marc Smith now refused to get back to me. The whole patio is a mess and I'm receiving estimates of around 5k to 10k to fix their mess. read more

A previous pool builder abandoned our pool project after dragging it out for almost two years past the completion date, so we called Denali pools on the recommendation of a happy client of theirs. Wow! Best call ever. From the very start, organizing the job and getting everything back on track with Travis, through the construction and set-up process with our awesome foreman Nate, we couldn't have been happier or more impressed with their professionalism and experience. Nate was very responsive and even moved up the completion date without being asked when I mentioned we were having an eclipse party. There were endless problems that arose from the first pool builder's incompetence; we had to remove approximately half the pipes in the spa, and certain features simply will never work without ripping everything out and redoing the plumbing, but Nate's perseverance in troubleshooting the inane plumbing was impressive and greatly appreciated. Our pool is pretty awesome and they are responsive to touch up needs as you complete. If I had any critiques it would be the payment schedule - very protective to them - but they did come through. I naturally distrust all contractors. I'd also like their subs to be a little gentler on the surrounding areas. Like most companies, you have to sign a damage waiver but some of the subs could have tried a little harder to not crucify the yard but that may be all pool companies. They were the middle bid for us but provided us a design up front so we knew what we were getting. And they didn't give us the used car salesman vibe like some of them and weren't trying to milk every dollar out of us like some of the other local shops. I would recommend. read more

Well if I could give a zero star review I would. If you want a pool company that will start on time and finish the completion of your project in a timely manner then you should probably look elsewhere. We have asked for a plan to move forward and they still haven't responded after 4 days and that's after an already 8 week delay! They are more concerned about their own pockets than anything else. We have put almost $450,000 in the project and now we are left with an unfinished pool and patio. Helpfully this review will help you look elsewhere for a pool builder because Denali Pools has not earned a good review because they use bad contractors that won't finish the job or ask for more money so then Denali Pools is forced to fight with contractors. I reached out to the top 10 pool companies in Austin and interviewed half of them. When you do that, you start to see who is bs'ing you and who really knows what they're talking about. Travis at Denali proved to be an expert above all others and after I got the renderings, I knew Travis was most aligned with my vision. For the most part, the process went smoothly. We had a neighbor who was strict about our timeline and using his yard and Travis did an excellent job navigating that relationship and getting the crew through on a very short timeline of a few weeks. Where it soured was when tile was installed, some were white and some were light gray making it look very mismatched and as a designer, I could not let that be tied to my name as a lot of people and neighbors look to me for design expertise. When I told my PM, Jeremy, he pushed back on me but I kept pushing and he allowed to switch some out. I marked which ones I wanted swapped out and then the crew swapped them out... with gray tiles again! This time, Jeremy did not relent, nor did he admit that was not right and even worse, as a PM, he offered no real solution. He just refused to genuinely help. What he doesn't understand is as a designer and a very connected person, people always ask for my expertise and recommendations all the time. In fact, before I even started building, a person in my neighborhood reached out to me and I raved about Travis and they quickly proceeded with Denali too along with about 5 other referrals I sent to Denali. People even see my pool from the street and knock on my door to ask me about my thoughts on the pool company I used. Jeremy needs to understand their work speaks for itself too, including if it's mismatched tiles. If I have people come to my house and see mismatched tiles, it'll turn them off from using Denali. This was actually a very small concern in the grand scheme of things so it really could have been resolved more professionally to not sour a relationship. Reached out to Travis and he helped resolved the issue with staining and the tiles look perfect now. Most importantly, he showed that he cared and wanted to help. That's how you keep customers and get referrals and repeat business. The pool turned out beautifully. There were issues with the heating unit not working for a bit and a very large crack that they are waiting to cure and then re-cope it so I'll update the review after. Overall, the pool turned out beautifully, I just wish that the service from Jeremy matched what you would expect when spending six figures on a product at a top company. read more

Save yourself headaches and go with another company. I can never recommend this company with the right mind. This company was horrible and gave us a nightmare. They lack professionalism, communication skills, and quality of service. We were told prior to the pool being complete that if we did not give a 5 star review then Denali's responsiveness to address issues would be very delayed. They prioritize the customers who give 5 star reviews before the pool is complete. This was in fact very true. The City of Cedar Park inspector who came and failed us several times told us that Denali is the worst. He had a good amount of complaints against the work Denali produced. The construction manager Joe has a good spirit, but he just lacks communication skills and professionalism. He would tell us that we have a scheduled meeting but was often late or didn't show up without communicating with us. We took hours off of work to be home to meet with him only for him to not show up, and we ended wasting our time. Gabriel, Joe's supervisor is rude and has very unprofessional communication skills. Our pool building experience had, per Joe, more than the usual amount of issues that kept occurring. Some items were expected to occur, but poor communication from Denali make each negative experience worse. Examples include, our water meter being busted (although we sent them photos in advance warning of potential danger, this was ignored by Denali) internet cords being cut without informing us that this happened, no familiarity with city codes such as gas tank placement, damaged water pipes with water leaking for over 24 hours without being addressed by Denali resulting in us losing 3 quarters of pool water so we had to fill up the pool twice, trash (not just building debris) everywhere (we were told workers usually empty trash from their personal vehicles on the job site), workers urinating in the yard, workers drinking alcohol on the job and leaving beer bottles scattered throughout the yard, waterfall grotto stone had a giant crack that was not addressed until the very end when it was impossible to replace,...etc. The first time I met Gabriel, he did not introduce himself, and when I started to share my concerns, he told me that he didn't have to address any issues with me (a woman) because he already talked with my husband. There is no respect. Mitch, the head of the company tried to correct some and listen, but he also was rude in messages. We can agree to disagree with Mitch, but the facts are still facts and the quality of service and delivered product is subpar with this company. They wanted to move on to next customer, which I understand, while we were still having issues in our pool. They didn't want to serve us because technically the pool was "complete" while we were still missing some essential parts inside of the pool and the waterfall had many issues including water leaking through the sides that needed to be addressed. To this day, the waterfall is still leaking and it has not been addressed. We were told by Mitch that we would be notified when it is complete, to date, we have not been notified. When issues keep occurring, we receive different excuses every time. The issues were not addressed for weeks without any updates, and we had to constantly beg to get information out of this company. A professional company should be forthcoming with information. All we ever needed was some updates, and apparently that was too much for them. read more

If you've never had a pool, this is the company to work with as they are very patient, kind, knowledgeable and most importantly, their prices are in line with the industry. The design process was painless (and all of the above), and compared to the largest pool builder in the region, you won't feel like you're getting a cookie-cutter design without the attention to detail; we had a pool in Dallas 20-yrs ago and knew exactly what we wanted but even some of our features were unique to the Dallas region but we wanted them (and at the same time some of the stone is unique to this region). The construction process is obviously the major part and I'll do my best to keep this short(ish). Our Denali point person and foreman was Rob and he's fantastic (5/5 stars). Literally, we could not have asked for a better gentleman. Just like everyone at or involved in the process, he's knowledgeable, kind, and can admit when he doesn't know something (but will also research it to find and deliver the answer back to us). During excavation (the dig) and plumbing, he came out to our house twice a day; I'm not sure if that's normal since we live about 5 miles from him (concidentally). Either way, he kept a close eye on the project during those times and we had no issues. Our pool caved-in due to tremendous amounts of rain (all the pools in our neighborhood did even by other companies), and he made it clear (again in a nice way) that his guys' safety was first and then came the pool. As someone who has worked in factories, I shared the same work pillar and it was refreshing to see. We added about 3200 sq ft of concrete that wraps around the pool; the cement job was 35% of the project. We had zero issues with the gunite or surfacing process except more rain lol. Overall the job took 11 mths from signing the contract to having our first cold swim (in November); although we used our spa all the time :) The true first swim in late March was amazing and the swimming hasn't stopped. The only thing I would mention to Denali Pools is try to put in extra orders with your distributor for pool supplies and equipment, because without the rain delays, we would have been delayed by out-of-stock issues. Again I'll add, the severity of the pandemic on the supply chain couldn't have been predicted, but now it can be. read more

It is now 2024 and we continue to get personalized customer service. I've emailed Jordan and he promptly replies and always either has the answer or knows who does (which is usually Gabriel!) Gabriel's knowledge base is vast and really knows what he's doing. I've texted him numerous times with both big and small questions and he almost always calls me (instead of texting) to make sure he addresses my concerns or questions. First- let me start by saying the entire build process went relatively smooth and timely. Communication from Denali was good, not "great!" Most of this review stems from the Lack of Quality and Craftsmanship during the last few stages. Let me preface this with we are working with our (new) Supervisor and Salesman on these remedies...some which have been taken care of...but this is a transparent review on our experience/hurdles/and pitfalls. Something I hope can help people building a pool for the first time, to take and use throughout their build process. 1. Auto Fill Device was not installed. This was overlooked by Supervisor and they "missed" installing AutoFill all together. Yes Denali fixed it but, it now involves an above ground, white plastic cylinder that I'll have to cover up in a fashionable way. I still find it funny that my Landscaper was the one to find this mistake (not Denali) when I was showing him our plans. Otherwise I wouldn't know what to look for! 2. They also missed an "overflow" line/hole in the pool tile line. From what I understand, there is normally a hole where, when the water of the pool reaches that height, the pool water will drain. With the remedy, This feature is somehow tied into the AutoFill device which all functions through a plumbed hole about 1-2ft below our waters surface. Doesn't seem traditional and I'm weary of functionality when tied to the AutoFill 3. Plaster (PebbleTec) Crew: all in all a good job EXCEPT for when we caught them accidentally break off tile from our spas seating ledge, and continue to pour. (We Have a camera on rear of house). We are missing a few detail tiles from our step which involves draining the spa, cutting plaster, and inserting tile. TBD on remedy. 4. Leaks: there were a couple coming from our "deck jets" leaking down the back wall of our pool...and our spa leaks water into our pool (thankfully). Makes me question the structural integrity of the pool itself, something I can't easily find a leak in. 5. Tile Work: initial subs...well...we had crooked tiles, insanely large gaps with grout, dark gray grout used with white stone...looked elementary at best. Good news, it's all being fixed. 6. STAY AWAY from Leuder Stone and "tiered" spillways off your spa. Leuder looks like garbage and something we weren't forewarned about. You'll see it in the showroom and it looks like a clean concrete stone. Little did we know, when used for our spa overflow and around our pool, it would look like our pool is 50 years old and not cared for! The tiered spillway is another topic. You'd expect a nice even, light "trickle" effect as the water overflows...but that's far from accurate. There are Aggressive overflows at various points, and almost Zero overflow at others. This also causes water to flow onto our Deck which doesn't help the "look" of the Leuder stone as mentioned above. Denali is still pushing forward on some of these minor punch items for us. Each time guys come to do touch up work...I feel like it's 1 step forward and 2 steps back. Our pool was plastered in September (2021), and contractually the pool is "complete" but Denali is still working on fixing these which we appreciate. Not sure if there are City Inspections and items that need to be signed off on before "Final" completion, but for now, our pool is usable. When I look at the quality / details / and the cleanliness of this "completed" pool, I struggle...knowing this cost $92K and yet looks like I have neglected it for years. Much like the rest of Austin, when the Covid lockdown started we decided to build a pool. This affected our price, and timeline, but there is no doubt any pool company would have been comparable price wise and I know for certain that people started building before I did and are still waiting to swim (my brother, haha). Obviously we had to do much more zoom, text and email communications than we would have had there not been a worldwide pandemic. Truly, that was the worst part about the job. Again, not Denali's fault at all. It's very difficult to pick out tile, plaster etc without actually seeing samples. With all of that said, I am extraordinarily happy with my pool. It is everything I wanted. Henry and Eliza both get kudos for helping me build the non-standard /retro pool that fits my house style perfectly. All of the subcontractors they used were top notch and I even got some of their numbers for other projects I may want to do later. read more
