I sat on the couch with my laptop, had a light bite and drinks, and it felt easy and casual. Definitely seems like a great spot to pop into for happy hour or a relaxed lunch. They were really good about helping me find an outlet and place to set up. And they didn't rush me out. I sat there for quite a while snacking with an iced tea. Second visit was completely different. Our company rented a downstairs section for 40+ people with a simplified menu, and the space transformed into much more of a high-end, speakeasy-style steakhouse experience. The food was delicious both times and the service was fantastic. My steak at the corporate dinner initially came out overcooked, and I felt bad even mentioning it, but they handled it immediately and the replacement was absolutely perfect. I'd 100% recommend Wicked Butcher for a company dinner or private event. The table service downstairs was impeccable, and it felt special without feeling stuffy.

It was pretty slow but that's probably due to the volume of people. We were there for like two hours. The place itself is so classy, it was a perfect stop. We also got complimentary champagne for the wait so I can't really complain. White Truffle Caesar: It was soooo fresh, I always get hesitant with caesar's because places tend to drown it in dressing to hide the wilted lettuce, this wasn't the case. It was very fresh and had a light truffle taste which i prefer to heavily truffled. 9/10 filet: cooked absolutely perfect. they brought out the wrong steak at first but immediately got it before we even noticed. The herb butter you can get with it is a must!!! it's so amazing and complements the steak perfectly. 10/10 rigatoni bolognese: it was a little spicy and i honestly loved that! it was a great pasta dish with perfectly al dente noodles. 10/10 steak tartare: hear me out, it tastes and smells like in n out hahaha! it's the fried onions they put on it, i liked it though. 7/10 hamachi crudo: soooo fresh. pretty simple but well done. 8/10 creme brulee: i was so tired so wanted it to go, apparently they don't do to go which i understand. I wish they told me that thought before he spooned my creme brulee into a plastic container. it wasn't good at all. 2/10 I should've had it in house so I'm not letting that affect the review. Overall amazing restaurant that i'd gladly return to and highly recommend. Our bill came out to $191 not including tip.

Recently, I had lunch here, and they now have a new farm to table menu that really exceeded my expectations. The Ranch has reinvented itself many times, and now it's a restaurant I would visit for the food AND atmosphere. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - At its core, it's a bar with several indoor and outdoor dining areas with a country theme. The Ranch is so versatile that you can host a private event while people dine in the main area while others hang out at the bar. There's also a charming outdoor area that is nice if the weather is cool. Best of all - it's full of people and energy. 1 Star. Service - Our server was great. We explained the concept, went over the menu, and while a large table occupied his time, several of the staff were helpful. Everyone was dressed in Cowboy/Ranch gear. Texas Southern Hospitality is real. 1 Star. Food - My most recent visit was like visiting a new restaurant. The Ranch's menu has changed, and everything was new. I started with the pork belly appetizers, which was a great start to meal. The tender pork meat had a layer of sweet + salty belly that melts in your mouth. I went with the Barbacoa Grilled Cheese that was one of the best I've ever had. The barbacoa (shredded BBQ beef) was the star and was better than any brisket grilled cheese I've had. The sourdough was grilled with lots of butter, so after devouring the sandwich I had to wash my hands. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Absolutely. I had been to The Ranch so many times I considered a place to gather for Happy Hour. Not anymore. The new menu is incredible, and I can't wait to return. 1 Star.

This place gives Texas Chic vibes in a fun way. The hostess were very welcoming and helped us to our table shortly after we arrived. We decided to share a few dishes and really enjoyed them all. - The Meat and cheese board was a great assortment of items. While I didn't eat the meat, my friends really enjoyed the options. The cheese, fruit, nuts and spreads were all delicious. - The Margarita pizza had an interesting twist with the addition of pecans. I really enjoyed it however, I wished the tomatoes would have been consistently sliced as some were barely if at all sliced so you had to do a little more work to keep them in place. - The House salad was good and I enjoyed the vinaigrette it was served with. We also shared a bottle of the house white wine which we all really enjoyed. It wasn't clear from the wine menu that this was an option, but our waiter recommended it and even brought us a sample. The service of a waiter was a mixed bag. I'm not sure if it was the time of our reservation or what else may have been going on but we didn't find him to be as helpful without being prompted, at times made a feel a bit rushed and moved on from us quickly. It was the first time for at least two of us but he didn't ask this nor mention anything about the menu or concept to us. The one exception was with the wine recommendation. Overall we all enjoyed the food enough to want to return with hope for a better service experience.

Not at all worth the price you're paying, severely lacking in flavor, and takes waaaaay Too long to be delivered to your table after ordering. We started with the Texas Trio and we did enjoy that. It is kind of hard to mess up queso, salsa and pimento cheese- however we did say that was one thing we would eat again and was worth its value. My husband and other son bothe ordered cheeseburgers at $22 a pop and both said the burger they get at local pint was a million times better and a lil cheaper. I got the smothered chicken and It was very disappointing! The chicken was so bland it was like a notch above school cafeteria food (seriously) I swapped the rice for mashed potatoes and they were good (not great but good) and the Brussels sprouts which were really tasty but VERY small Portion for price. I've eaten at incredibly high end steak places that charge the same For a side of sprouts and give you more than double what I got tonight at 1845. The birthday boy got a strip steak and potatoes and he gave each of us a bite. $49 for this steak- a good size- but NO FLAVOR at all. Last but certainly not least- our server was nice enough and attentive HOWEVER he had on the Meta glasses that record people and that made our entire table very uncomfortable. My son said he had seen tik tok accounts where waiters record their patrons and post it! (Not saying he was but it definitely changed the atmosphere of our dinner) He also seemed notably disappointed and different after we didn't order the $49 appetizer and no alcohol. Visible mood shift but he did remain professional. All in all, we are baffled by the good reviews. And very very surprised at the quality of product and price point considering Marty Bs coffee has AMAZING food quality and pricing and so does the restaurant, just doesn't seem to be translating to the other establishments. :-(

Polanco Review for Birthday Celebration Our party of 21 gathered at Polanco on Friday to celebrate my wife's birthday in the Presidential Room. While the ambiance was nice and the food was quite good, our experience was ultimately marred by several service issues. The drinks were well-crafted and flavorful, but we faced an unacceptable delay of over 30 minutes to receive them. Despite spending more than four hours at the restaurant with approximately two drinks per person, we felt that the service did not meet the expected standards for a dining establishment of this caliber. With only two servers attending to our large group, there was a clear lack of support staff, including a busboy or management presence, which further diminished the quality of service. The servers worked hard but were overwhelmed, which affected our overall experience. Another frustrating aspect was the confusion surrounding our bill. We had confirmed multiple times that we could pay separately, yet we were ultimately asked to split the check evenly among all couples, including a single guest who ended up paying the same amount as the couples. This was disappointing and not handled professionally. Additionally, despite being promised two birthday cakes for my wife, they never arrived, leaving us unable to sing happy birthday as planned. Management's absence throughout the evening was noticeable, and their support could have made a significant difference in addressing these issues. As if that weren't enough, one of the vehicles in our party sustained damage in the valet area, which added to our dissatisfaction. In summary, while Polanco has potential with its food and drink offerings, the lack of adequate service and attention to detail during our visit prevented it from being a memorable celebration. It certainly does not warrant a five-star rating in its current state. read more

We were very fired up to try this place. For a restaurant that needed almost 2 weeks to get a reservation. They also seemed to have very high standards with dress code as well! We got all dressed up and were rather disappointed. We had a cold appetizer which took half an hour to be served. We had also ordered a hot appetizer - It was corn with Cheetos on it - it was good - average - but it was served WITH the dinner. Not cool. My husband ordered the Ribeye steak and it was room temp. Not even warm - but room temp. It was also small - in both size and thickness. We could have had a better cut of meat at Texas Roadhouse for a fraction of the wait and price. Very unfortunate! Seriously, for $85 for a small room temp steak. No idea what their theory was to serve that little steak. The tacos were good so that was 1 for 1. Then we had the cornbread cheesecake with popcorn for dessert. It was very large, but dry and no flavor. We passed on eating that. I get its a fine dining place - the atmosphere is beautiful - the view and the well dressed diners and that you take your time with the meal. I eat out alot a 5 star restaurants - but their wait between serving was ridiculous. We were there for 2.5 hours. And this was a Tuesday night! For a place that was going to hold us to such a high standard to reserve a table way in advance, "maintain the elevated atmosphere" and to be ontime - we should also be able to hold them to an equal high standard for food in return. Sorry guys you tried but its a no go for this downtown foodie. read more

We had the pleasure of dining at Polanco last night, and it was a fantastic experience! The restaurant is located up three flights of stairs, but don't worry, they do have an elevator. Or, if you're feeling up for it, take the stairs and consider it your pre-dinner workout! Everything we tried was absolutely delicious. We were celebrating a birthday and got to enjoy one of their beautiful private rooms, which made the evening feel extra special. Our server, Michelle, was amazing, attentive, kind, and really on top of everything. There was a minor mishap in the bar area where some water started flooding, but the manager handled it with grace since we couldn't go over to her a drink and generously offered complimentary champagne or small margaritas to make up for the inconvenience. Class act! One thing that really stood out to me that I haven't read in other reviews was the music. It was a Monday night, and while the birthday celebration added to the fun, the music was pretty loud and had more of a nightclub feel. That might be perfect for some, but for me, it's not the kind of environment I'd want to be in all the time. I think that alone might keep me from visiting as often as I otherwise would. Maybe I'm just getting older, or maybe they're aiming for a younger, more energetic crowd. That said, overall it was a great night! read more

We were over dressed but there were some really casually dressed people so I'd say just come hungry or sort of hungry. I had seen all the buzz about the fried cactus and as someone who has grown up eating all my life I was intrigued on how this would be any different. Boy was I wrong. In fact, I would be happy enough just coming and eating only this. I have some sort of food limerence where I cannot stop thinking about this. Like daily! I want it so bad. No it was a whole experience because waiter placed this bowl towering with a mountain of curly crunchy ribbons. He kindly gave us his advice on the best way to eat it. You take their fresh made blue corn tortilla, pile on the cactus, don't be shy, if it fits in your mouth just go for it, then that green sauce was heavenly. All the flavors combined made me levitate. That would've been embarrassing. You could easy fill up on this alone given enough time and privacy. I just wanted a moment alone to enjoy fully ha ha. I then ordered the Chile en Nogada and the picture alone was enough for me to go yes we're on our way immediately. However listen I am a self proclaimed gift wrapping queen. I know a good ribbon and a good bow. I know that the typical dish has a bow - yes a fabric bow but this bow was not up to the standard of this restaurant, unfinished edges, and the color satin gold was not really representative of the environment. Good thing the bow is not edible but visually it could use a little improvement. The dish itself was 4 out of 5 for me only because I have had this dish before at a more casual space and every component of the dish was full flavored, where this one feels a bit safe. For dessert I was a little unimpressed with the options. I am not a fan of tres leches so I did not order their most famous desert but instead opted for another one that was a pastry with ice cream on top. I also give it 4 out of 5 its needing more flavor and sweetness, I mean this is dessert. The five stars is more for the service. Our server was amazing. He described every dish we ordered as if we were watching a Netflix documentary of a chef competition and they just submitted their dish. The table next to us got an amuse bouche compliments of the chef and I didn't want to be too nosy and peek over so I have no idea what it was. I was really hoping we'd get one too because honestly I was still hungry after all that. Oh cocktails. We ordered a drink before our table was available and I was not playing. I remember ordering a glass of bubbly rose and when our server brought it he served me a sip and had me try it before I decided, but honestly I wanted to tell him that I couldn't feel my face just pour it.

We tried this for the first time and were very very disappointed - the food was pretty terrible…read more The cheese in the quesadilla was described as "cafeteria cheese" by the person eating it. The steak strips were tough - some too tough to eat. The carne guisada was ok, not terrible, but the tortillas were uninspiring and the rice overcooked. The guac was pretty good- but that was about it. Service was a little slow but not terrible. Can not recommend. Will not repeat.
