    Tuna Lover Bowl

I have been ordering delivery and have tried several different items. This time their tuna bowl, brown rice base, large. If you haven't tried this, then you have to try it right away. No modifications needed for me, it is superb!

I have heard of Poke house but never have tried this brand before. Lots of delicious choices and quick and speedy service. I chose spicy tuna and regular tuna. Lots of additional toppings free of charge. Ponzu and citrus sauces I choose complete the poke bowl perfectly. Portions are good, but a little pricey compared to other similar restaurant.Rice was undercooked which led to a undesirable taste/texture

I have been to the Walnut Creek and San Jose locations quite a few times. Place is brand new, very clean, location excellent. And soft opening is currently 10% off. The scoop tool is the same in Walnut Creek, however Pleasanton can be more generous with the protein portion. The Tuna I got was like 3/4 of a scoop, the small scoop should definitely be filled more, for the protein. Positive side: same as Walnut Creek, mangoes and pineapples are included in the sides, no extra charge. Sauce is good: I chose my own mix of sauces. Parking is easy for the weekday. Not sure how it would be on the weekend when the brunch spot on the corner is filled with customers. I pick two portions of tuna for a small bowl. Tuna tastes fresh. Will come again, to check if the protein portion is fair as it gets all the soft opening hiccups over. There were about 3 to 4 tables of customers, very good for a weekday lunch time.

New poke spot in Pleasanton and it fits right in to the environment! Very friendly staff and very clean. My wife loved their crab salad and spicy tuna! I think this new business will do very well in the plaza since there's not much other healthy options

Shaved ice, nice to have ice in the winter. Love the toppings. And also fruits are so fresh.

The best poke I've ever tried! The fish is very fresh and delicious. I was especially happy to see marinated fish and a big variety of toppings. I would come here way more often. It was $40 for two bowls + $2.50 for avocado. The atmosphere is great and the staff is very friendly. Love it !!

I called ahead for a couple of spam musubis and was told it will be ready within 10 - 15 minutes - upon arrival, it was ready. The employee who took my order on the phone was pretty impatient and overall rude - he had an attitude. The spam musubis are sold individually, unlike most of the other Hawaiian BBQ spots, but the pricing is similar, if you were to get two pieces here compared to an order of two at the other spots. The musubi was a bit smaller in size compared to other spots though - it was more narrow / skinny like a rectangle, instead of the block / brick size. Overall, it was decent for a quick snack because they were the only musubi spot opened at night in this area that I found.

It's taken me some time to calm down enough to write this review…read more On April 25th I wanted to treat my family to L and L Hawaiian. I had not gone to this location before and never will again. That day, my daughter and I went into the restaurant and placed an order for us to eat there, and bring food home for the rest of the family. The only other people in the place was a dad with his young daughter - maybe about 6 or 7 years old. When you enter the restaurant, there is a row of different gum ball / candy / toy vending machines on the left hand side. The young girl got a quarter and put it into one that had those rubber bouncy balls in it. I believe the ball was supposed to drop from the top of the machine and follow a track that you can see all the way down into the exit hole. Anyway, she put in the quarter, turned the knob, tried again, and nothing happened. She let her Dad know and her Dad said to tell the man at the register (same man who rang us up, older man). The young girl gets up the courage to tell the worker (owner?) that the machine took her quarter and didn't give her a ball. I'm watching her tell him, and I'm seeing him shake his head no. I don't see him getting a quarter out to give her, apologize or ANYTHING. The girl tells her Dad he wouldn't help and the Dad tries to get the ball out by shaking the machine to loosen it. The worker yells at him to not do that, that the machine is broken. This happens a few times. That is when I couldn't sit there anymore and watch this man treat his customers this way. I said 'there is no sign on the machine saying it's broken - just give the girl her quarter". He refused and said he can't get into the machine to get the quarter. I said "you can take it from your register, or your own money, or your tips or whatever! This is shocking - these machines are in your restaurant and you are responsible". "You need to put a sign on that machine so people don't use it!" This man (older with glasses I think) would not budge. He wouldn't put a sign on the machine or give the girl back her money. He just stood there stubbornly. I never thought I would see something like this happen to customers and a small child! Terrible customer service, and just a bad human. I wished I could take my generous tip back! In addition the place was grungy/dirty and the food was terrible (not just the service). I will never go there again.

We had it Sunday at the farmers market and again Thursday at the farmers market; it was that good! It's simple, not overdone. Which is perfect. Fresh ahi, sesame, avocado, onion, sauce. Over rice, or your choice of base. It's a little pricey but it is 100% worth it. When comparing to other poke places around, it's a little higher but the quality smacks those in the face, so it makes sense. The fish is so fresh tasting, melts in your mouth. Highly, highly recommend. So nice to have a nice light, refreshing food truck option in lieu of all the fried stuff. Plus, the guy who runs the truck is so friendly. So nice. Reminds me so much of being in Hawaii and getting that ohana treatment. The truck looks clean and well taken care of which makes me feel good about the cleanliness standards he holds. You won't be disappointed; check it out!

You also have to pay more just to get rice with your fish (if ordering a "poke boat") which feels like a rip off in my opinion. Ahi tuna ($14 for 1/2 lb) itself is solid and good quality for what it is in this area. The sauce is described as a sesame soy sauce with spicy mayo. It's on the sweeter with some savoriness, light on the sesame, and not so much salty. I do like the flavors, but the poke isn't marinated long enough for them to seep through the whole fish chunks. Has a very slight kick from the chili flakes.

The interior is small with a couple of tables available to sit from. The menu was pretty easy to read and they had a variety of items to choose from! Medium Poke Bowl(5/10): For my base I got half kelp noodles and cucumbers. For my protein I got salmon, marinated tuna, and volcano tuna--mixed with spicy mayo and spicy poke house sauce. For toppings I had spicy tuna, spicy crab mayo, corn, green onions, masago, mango, kimchi, black tobiko, and pickled radish. I thought the choices I made were lackluster. I felt like there was a lot of kelp noodles, and it didn't add flavor. I didn't like the marinated tuna cause I felt like it was more on the sweeter side. The volcano tuna was super spicy, but the flavor profile was there. I think if I were to choose my protein again, it wouldn't be those options. Service(10/10): The worker was super nice and friendly. They were pretty fast and it looked like it was just one person working at the store. No complaints here. Overall, I don't think I'll be coming here again, but it was still worth a try!

We also added vanilla ice cream and condensed milk to top. We were hoping to get their mochi, but were informed that they were out which was unfortunate. The ice texture was on par with the one in Hawaii! Super soft, and soaks up the flavors really well. Definitely recommend adding the condensed milk as it added the perfect sweetness and creaminess. They use vanilla bean ice cream, which I thought was a bit too vanilla bean forward, and which I opted for their coconut ice cream instead. Service was super quick, and they have signage posted that if you want more flavoring, you can ask for more! Will definitely be back in the future
