Rangoons
Claire J.

Lovely spot in Bozeman!!! This spot is more pricey than most of the other places we stopped in Bozeman. Loved the old fashioneds though. The crab Rangoons were $19 and there was 4 of them--they were delicious though!!! After a long day of hiking in Yellowstone, getting engaged and driving back to our hotel here, we stopped for a celebratory drink. Our server noticed we were giggling over the ring and asked if we just got engaged and we said yes! And she was pretty distant afterwards. It was just interesting. Otherwise, a great experience and recommend stopping by!

We visited for Happy Hour and I ordered the Ploughman's platter. It was served with 3 types of cured meat, 3 types of cheese, cornichons, whole grain mustard, jam and warm bread. It was delicious. The employees working behind the bar were very helpful and friendly. The bar drinks were also good. Would love to give this place another try.

Flank steak salad

We were able to secure a table outside and it was divine! We placed an order for the meat and cheese platter and 2 flank steak salads- with beets, pickled onions, candied walnuts, radicchio and a nice creamy dressing. The cheese on the platter was great. I wish there was an option to choose the cheese as I could have done without the blue cheese. However the meats were great and it's served with warmed bread. The salads were amazing, my only concern is that they serve a half a head of butter lettuce with the stalk attached. It's kinda inedible but overall the taste of the salad was great.

Hanger steak

great service, great food, great wine! we really enjoyed it! high recommend the hanger steak.

We stopped by for a mini dinner consisting of a spread of appetizers. We had no reservations for a Sunday night but we were able to sit down right away at the bar. The restaurant/bar has a great atmosphere - the bartender mentioned the wall behind the bar was the original I believe and it had all the local ranches logo on it - so cool! We ordered the Bison Flank Steak Salad, Fried Chicken Skewers, and Crispy Pork Belly. The Bison Flank was cooked a perfect medium and the greens were fresh and crispy while the ricotta was creamy. Fried Chicken Skewers were yummy, they didn't have a huge layer of breading on the outside which was nice. I have been enjoying seeing pork belly on more restaurants lately, this pork belly was a great mix of savory and sweet! I would recommend giving Plonk a shot, they have a decent assortment of liquor and the menu is fresh/uses local products!

A fun little wine bar right on Main Street! I love popping in for a glass of wine or a delicious bite to eat.

This place has been so carefully curated (my bf said Zoolander vibes but I haven't watched - sue me!) to give very upscale chic ny vibes but I walked in in hokas and a big sweatshirt after a roadtrip and had a fab time. Didn't get the name of my waitress but she was great, she had a bandana. The food so good. The sweet potato gnocchi tasted like my childhood and I had a ratatouille ™ moment. The drinks were exquisite. Also after living in Jackson not even expensive. They switch to happy hour menu at the 10:30 but there's food on there too that looked great (plus the vg cheesecake was on it which was great)

Excellent food and decent wine selection with some interesting cocktails. Love the layout on the inside with the brick and the outdoor seating options tucked in the back are great on a nice day. Again the food pairing are amazing, check out the menu here https://plonkwine.com/plonk-food/ Bottom line is this is great place to have a drink and a bite with your spouse.

Extremely slow service, even on a Monday night! Be ready to wait. The atmosphere is good, but the prices are high for what they offer.

We had the FRITES & FONDUE for an appetizer, fries were great, the Parmesan was a nice touch and the fondue didn't have a lot of flavor. We both loved the our entrees, as we continued our meal seeing all the other entrees going to tables we are excited to come back to try the vast options on the menu. The cheesecake was delicious & fresh we truly appreciate the quality & taste of desserts being made in house- you can tell the difference & it is absolutely worth it. We started with the beet and burrata salad, which was full of yummy complimenting flavors and fun textures. I think it could have done without the yellow peppers but I just ate around those. The pepitas with the pistachio butter and beets were excellent, and the burrata added a creamy touch. We also tried the frites and fondue. The fries were thick and browned how I like them, but the fondue wasn't my favorite and was a little too overpowering in flavor for my taste. The parmesan on top of the fries was a nice touch. For beverages I had a local pale ale from Bridger brewing that was crisp and went well with the meal, and my partner tried the rotations shrub (peach), which she said was just okay. The star of the show was the arrabiata pasta made with vodka sauce and Calabrian chilis. The pasta was cooked perfectly Al dente and was well sauced, truly delicious. The ambiance is nice, and the service was fine. They checked on us frequently but not entirely friendly, maybe our waitress was having a bad day. The meal was a little on the pricier side but I felt the happy hour prices were fair. We would return when visiting Bozeman.

When we came in at around 4pm, there seemed to be plenty of tables available but after an hour, the place quickly filled up. Vibes/Service: Parking lot in the back and it seemed there was some street parking available as well. Many, many tables available with bar seating as well. It can certainly fit a larger group. Great service from our server. Checked on us often and filled up our waters. Food: Because it was our first meal here, we wanted to try out their staple dishes. -Bison Potstickers ($16): 5 pieces topped with mango and garlic chili sauce and served with some coleslaw. Rich and filling, paired well with the sauce. Would order this again! -Bison Patty Melt ($22): it was my first time eating Bison, the waiter suggested medium rare. It looked more red than I usually like but it actually was juicy and tasty-- I guess this is the difference between a regular beef patty. I'd also order this again. -Served with pepper parmesan fries which was so uniquely food. Fries were fresh. -Huckleberry Cream Ale ($8/pint) paired well with my meal.

My server knew the special menu, regular menu and drinks very well. I ordered the bison patty melt and tots for the meal and the Bridger Hazy IPA for the drink. The bartender recommended the IPA and it was excellent. The homemade tots were great. A shredded potato in the middle, nice and creamy and crunchy exterior. Feedback was there were only 5 on the plate. Definitely could use more. The bison patty met was perfectly cooked. A lot of folks overcook and dry out the bison. It was perfectly medium and juicy. Feedback would be a little char on the patty would be great. The service really tailed off in the end, it was not super busy and they had about 5 servers behind the bar. I sat there for at least 15 min until another bar tender asked if I wanted another brew and my server came about 5 to 10 later to attend to things.

From favorite to least: Live Mussels - 12/10 very zesty, and the broth was fresh and herby with shallots, thyme, garlic, parsley. We dipped the seafood from our entrees into the leftover broth for the acidity and flavor! Stuffed Portabello Mushroom - 10/10 there were so many ingredients in this dish it was almost comical but it all worked together very well! Portobello mushroom stuffed with ricotta(?), blue cheese, lump crab meat, topped with chives and lemon zest, with pesto and balsamic vinegar sauces LOL. So much going on but very good. Bacon was a bit salty in this ensemble though. Fettuccine a la Verona - 10/10 light and fettuccine is in a fresh seafood broth. Plump springy prawns with burrata and has a good ratio of vegetables (artichoke, spinach, lions mane mushroom) Wild Alaskan Salmon Penne - 9/10 very indulgent with bacon, pesto, caramelized onions and lions mane mushroom under melted cheese. Salmon was fresh but felt under-seasoned on its own. I loved the mushrooms but I didn't love the dry/hard melted cheese on top. Chicken Parmigiana - 8/10 tomato sauce is very fragrant. A bit bland otherwise. All entrees came with a soft crumbly bread that I only enjoyed with the mussels broth. Lovely server and restaurant! Charming location. Big portions, we took leftovers.

To start, we had the daily ceviche, which was a salmon ceviche with a bright citrus marinade, garnished with oranges and served alongside crispy wonton crackers. It was fresh, light, and a perfect way to kick off the meal. Next, we shared the hot crab dip, which was rich, warm, and packed with flavor. Served with grilled bread, it was the kind of dish you keep dipping back into because it's just that good. For our main dish, we shared the Brown Butter Scallops -- prosecco salt dusted scallops served with arugula pesto, herb mushrooms, and bacon & butternut squash arancini. The scallops themselves were perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful, but the real standout on the plate was the arancini. Crispy on the outside with a rich, savory filling of bacon and butternut squash, it paired beautifully with the rest of the dish and completely stole the show. The entire meal was beautifully plated and thoughtfully prepared. The only small note is that the restaurant can get a bit loud when it's full, which can make conversation with your dinner companion slightly harder. That said, the lively atmosphere shouldn't stop you from enjoying a meal here. Overall, it was an exceptional dining experience. If you go, do not skip the bacon and butternut squash arancini--it was the absolute star of the dish and truly sensational.
