What an experience. We went on a Friday night. We had reservations which are definitely recommended on busy nights like Friday. Tyler was our server and he was awesome and really helped make a great experience. He went through the menu throughly and helped make tie-breaker suggestions when discussing different meal options. He covered the special which was bison prime rib. I had to go with the prime rib after he explained it. What a treat, it came with carrots, mashed potatoes, asparagus with real flavorful jus. Wow, the bison was so tender and falling off the bone. We usually don't get dessert. He said that a homemade mocha ice cream was the special. My wife came up with a great idea to have a brookie with the mocha ice cream. One of the best desserts ever. The brownie and cookie were perfectly moist as well as a homemade marshmallow meringue that combined to make this off the charts. Great atmosphere and service. Definitely going back. read more

I don't usually provide a scathing review but, the overall experience here was horrendous. Service was great. The waitress went out of her way to make us fell comfortable. The food was good, we ate our fill and had left overs to take home. Then the problem started one of our older hunting mates tried to go to the bar and ask a question. Apparently he had just washed the floor. Being that he realized his work romance was talking to one of the college coeds, he became jealous and began to aggressively disparage our group. We were taken back by the lack of professionalism we just experienced. We could not recommend this place in good conscience. read more

Nice place but a little pricy for lunch. Decor and atmosphere was very nice, are service was exceptional but the food was just okay. We left paying $65 for lunch (total, tip and everything) and that was only having water with our meal. It was just okay got $65. I wasn't sure what to expect from this place but I was just not impressed! The menu is HUGE and has something for everyone on it but the food was just okay. For starters, we had the Korean chicken appetizer which was good but kinda reminded me of some boneless chicken nuggets from Buffalo Wild Wings which was disappointing because from the outside of the restaurant, clothe napkins and real silverware on the tables I expected more. Our server Alana was great and tolerated all my questions about the menu items and even made great recommendations I finally settled on the Bison bacon cheeseburger and parmesan and truffle fries. The burger was about 4ouces cooked so it could have been a double and would have been just enough, the flavors were good, and the parmesan truffle fries were okay but nothing jumped off the plate at me. My date had the Turkey sandwich which also had truffle parmesan fries, she said "my sandwich was okay but not great. I guess that is the theme of this review, Good but not great. I booked a dinner presentation for 25 people with urban kitchen recently, and it was an absolute delightful experience. I've done several of these in Bozeman and all Montana and the timing of the dinner around the presentation was remarkable. The order was taken before the presentation, salads on the table as the presentation started and dinner as the presentation was wrapping up. The food was remarkable, especially the Ono that I had. There's a lot to say here. Found this restaurant on Yelp & we are SO pleased with the excellent experience from taste, service and vibe! First off, the establishment has a great trendy vibe, clean & crisp and appealing. We were immediately greeted & seated in the bar and waited in by TJ & Ryan. Excellent & attentive service. I had a Huckleberry Wildflower Hopper and it met my expectations for a light fruity beverage. I chose the Mac & Cheese with a Grilled Shrimp add-on to create a great meal. The cheese melted great and the shrimp were cooked to perfection. The shoe stopper was the Pork Flank!! The flavor of the sauce was mouthwatering & the meat actually fell off the boss with no knife needed! We both kept eating of each other's plate. Great experience. No doubt, we will be back here when we come through town. Thank you for ending our evening with a great experience. I was in Bozeman, Montana today and decided to walk around town and eat lunch. The hotel recommended the Urban Kitchen. They had a good Yelp rating, so I stopped in. The place is trendy, clean, and quiet. I was greeted within about 2 minutes by the host. She was friendly but she forced me to sit at the bar because I was alone. As you can see in the photo, they weren't busy. I didn't want to sit on the uncomfortable bar stool... but wasn't given an option even though restaurant was half empty and a group of 2 were seated farther back. I sat at the bar, and was greeted fairly promptly by the bartender. He got me a drink and a menu. The menu had many items that looked tasty, and I selected the Lemon Garlic Brick Chicken. The bartender asked if 20min cook time fit into my schedule. I appreciated that. About 20min passed and I got my food. It looked good on presentation. The sauce was tasty. It had hints of garlic and lemon. The bok choy was delicious and perfectly cooked. The mashed potatoes were tasty but too mushy for my liking. The chicken was disappointing. It was tender and moist, but to my surprise was very bland. It tasted like fried breading over boiled chicken. I would say stay clear of the chicken and try their beef or pork. The service by the bartender was great, but the host made me feel like the restaurant saw me as an inconvenience being a solo seat. Definitely not appreciated. The food was mediocre for the expensive price. I may try them again with a burger or steak next time. read more

We found Urban Kitchen a little disappointing--slightly schizophrenic. While the Brussels sprouts appetizer was quite delicious (highly recommend), the entrees were pedestrian. The elk osso bucco was dry, yet served on a bed of excellent greens and risotto. The chicken sandwich was equally arid, but the accompanying french fries were well prepared. First off, I would recommend doing reservations if you like sitting at a table. We did not have one, as tourists who knew? Did not matter, as they had spots at the bar which we were happy to take. We ordered an Old Fashioned and Manhattan to start, the bartender made some tasty cocktails. Extra points for immediately bringing us water as well. We split the sprouts/carrots starter and each ordered the avocado Caesar salad. When they brought the starter, it was a little weird that they did not think to bring us little plates, so we just chowed down right out of the little bowl. Not that I am used to raving about salads, but the Caesar is really well done here! The service was super attentive and friendly as well. The place was crowded on a Saturday night, so it is obviously very popular. We enjoyed our food and cocktails very much! read more

Our table was not ready for our reservation - which was not the problem - so we were asked to wait in the bar - again not the issue. The issue was the antagonistic rude bartender. Before we even sat down he was very unapologetically abrupt and confrontational. Unfortunately he soured us on the restaurant as a whole, which is unfortunate for the proprietors of the restaurant. We tend to try and support the local small boutique restaurants and this experience has left a stain on its reputations. If you are looking for a nice place to eat in Bozeman, there are plenty of other options where you you won't be spoken to disrespectfully before you are even sat. read more

WOW!!! A incredible restaurant where you and your significant other can sit at the bar and have one of the best dinners in Montana! I'm bummed I didn't get a picture of the pork chop and Mac and cheese but it was delicious! Thick, perfectly cooked, juicy, salty, flavorful, perfection. Paired with Mac and cheese love. Food is 5 star but the bar, and the bartenders, the service, AND THE PRICES at the bar are next level!!! Incredible selection of anything you can imagine. NY strip was correct temperature (medium rare), but under seasoned and overly charred, which left a bitter aftertaste. Lamb chops were paper thin, but good flavor with peach reduction. Small portion for the price. Decided to cut my losses and skip dessert. Service was a little slow at the beginning, but picked up during the meal. What a nice new spot located in downtown Bozeman. We were there for a quick business dinner and it definitely delivered. Its an easy walkup to the second floor and the setting is beautiful. There's a great rustic theme and we got a great booth on the side. The food is good. I had a terrific serving of Bison (ok, when out in Montana, got to give that a try). One word - disappointing. We had high hopes for our breakfast as the establishment is cute and modern. We sat outside on the back patio, which was pleasant (except we moved ourselves to a new table when the pipe above us started to spew out some loud noise and unknown gas of some sort.). Our waitress was very nice, the coffee mugs were adorable, and we were hungry. But, our first cups of $3 coffee were far from hot. I mentioned this to our waitress and our next cups were fine. I ordered the special; French toast with an egg atop fried chicken and a huckleberry sauce with a house-made hot sauce. I was excited for it, since I like sweet for my breakfast and all 4 items on the breakfast/brunch menu were all savory. Very pretty presentation, but that's where the fun ended. The chicken had no flavor, was not crispy, and was mostly dark meat pounded so incredibly thin, it was chewy. No one likes chewy fried chicken. It goes against all that fried chicken should be. The French toast was made from a thick piece of bread, but was not soaked long enough in the egg batter, so it was very dry in the middle...and, so, was just bread dipped in some egg. No powdered sugar, or butter, or syrup. Just dry bread. The scrambled egg was fine, but the whole meal lacked flavor; some salt, or acid. It also was warm, not hot. I did like the huckleberry sauce. $20 The hubs ordered the Loaded Hash. Another pretty presentation, but again, disappointing. Barely any brisket, mostly tater-tots...not potatoes, tater-tots. Soggy-coated and mushy. Not a nice crisp bite of seasoned potatoes as any proper hash should have. And not very hot, either. The meal did not come with toast, so he ordered some sourdough toast. It wasn't even buttered! I mean, I think they even butter it in prison. We asked for butter and a small tub of nice, creamy butter was delivered. $18.00 for the hash, $2.00 for toast. {Toasted-slice-of-bread...$2.} So, in all, $46.00 (plus tip) for a very unsatisfying breakfast.
