Shared some appetizers and called it a meal while we were in town. Our salad was very good. But, the most OUTSTANDING thing was, the beet gnocchi; it's one of the best gnocchis I've ever had. The texture was pillowy without being chewy. The complimentary flavors of sage and orange went beautifully with the dish. I immediately started researching recipes so that I could attempt to recreate its deliciousness at home. Dessert was okay, not nearly as special as the gnocchi. Wine was well-priced and generously poured. We liked our first visit so much we actually came back later in the week for a night cap. read more

Walking in to the restaurant I was pretty impressed. Atmosphere was cool, the style was modern, and the servers were hot. The menu on the clipboard was an awesome idea and the drinks that were on the bar menu are even better. There were all kinds of innovative cocktails and wines to fit everyone's taste. Unfortunately, the food does not match the vibe or caliber of the drinks. The actual items on the menu sounded delicious..,,but were cooked to order mediocre at best. My pappardelle was meh, the pho was meh, the mozzarella/tomato salad was good and the strawberry shortcake dessert was bleh. I could see this place as a really fun spot to hang out with friends, have drinks and snack on appetizers. Probably the swankiest bar in all of Bozeman. It was recommended by a friend who is a bartender at another bar in town. It was high end but totally comfortable at the same time. The bartenders seemed to know their stuff. My cousin and I ordered the G.F.C. (great f* cocktail) which lived up to its name 100%. We both had two which was more than enough to get you buzzed. My boyfriend ordered an appetizer which I cannot recall the name of but it was really delicious he only gave me one bite! Apparently the guy's bathroom has risqué pictures my boyfriend came back laughing. The rest of the bar is very modern. If you're looking for wine or an amazing high end cocktail you should check this place out! read more

Definitely not the type of place I thought I'd find in Bozeman MT. This place was super cute, they had the best selection of mixed drinks, most for about $8. Mine had basil in it, and was AMAZING! The service on this particular Friday night was a bit slow, but our waitress was super friendly, especially since this was the 3rd stop in our impromptu "crawl". I would definitely recommend checking this place out, would be a great date night stop or place to meet up with girlfriends. read more

This wine bar could be seamlessly set down in a trendy area of any Metropolis. A bit of 'city life' out in Bozeman. I had one of their fancy cocktails- with cherries crushed (muddled) in the glass and everything ($10). My date had their featured wine selection ($8/glass). We also split one of the deserts- a cherry cobbler-like item with pistachio nuts topped with cardamon ice cream. It was pretty epic. I really liked it (but didn't LOVE it, which I was a bit surprised by.) I wish I could tell you what it was missing, but I couldn't put my finger on it. Brittany, our server, was lovely. We felt very well taken care of, even though the place was packed! My date wasn't thrilled with the featured wine (a red blend from Washington)- but not enough to send it back, it just wasn't exactly what he'd been after. Amazing vegan options, so pleasantly surprised! Had more than enough to choose from. The cashew cheese appetizer is a must, our entire table loved it, and the curry was a winner as well. Living in Houston and planning a wedding in Bozeman is no easy feat. So we took a gamble when we booked our rehearsal dinner at Plonk. AND I AM SO HAPPY we did. Ben was a pleasure to work with; he was very responsive and answered all of of our questions. Plonk for Business My team hosted a group of our customers at Plonk. Working with John, we coordinated a 4 course meal with a wine perfectly paired to the entree. All of this took place in their wine cellar...one of us said it was like having dinner in a speak easy. One of our customers said it was one of the best meals she ever had. Great job guys. read more

Aspen meets Bozeman at this large restaurant and watering hole on Main Street. I understand that two serves from Yellowstone's Old Faithful Inn opened the place. Not where you would go for a Montana feel but the liquor selection is wide and the long bar offers a nice perch for the single dinner to survey the crowd in and passing by. My steak salad was prepared nicely and the serving was adequate. I liked the wine list as well. The servers were very well dressed -- something that stands out on Montana. They went from very attentive to distracted. My credit card was behind the bar for at least 20 minutes. read more

I love Plonk! The atmosphere is modern, cool and hip, but not snobby. The food and drinks are inventive and yummy - fresh, local and organic, too. And the live music is lots of fun! We've been in several times in the last few months and have had very good food and service each time we've visited. One of my favorite dishes is the Quinoa Stuffed Pepper - it's drool worthy! I think it tastes like a really fresh and tasty enchilada but without the greasy cheese and sauce. I've also had stellar steak and veal at Plonk with fantastic sides and sauces. Order the Plonk Cosmo so you can munch on the candied ginger while you catch-up with your friends and listen to some great live music. read more

I absolutely love this place! It's such a cool bar to hang out in. It's a pretty big place and there are many options of where to sit. The patio, high top tables, the bar, or couches in the back. I haven't eaten here other than the Cheese Plates and they are awesome. Very inexpensive but high on quality and quantity. 6 cheeses for $13 is unheard where we live. The chef plate is spot on with a nice mix different cheeses. They actually give you a fair amount of bread, not just a few slices, like other places do. Service has always been great here and the bartenders seems to know how to mix a cocktail. I tend to drink beer but my wife's mixed drinks have always been pretty great! read more

Amazing cocktails, the bartender is a master mixologist on par with those in NYC, Miami, and LA. I usually have one or two drinks max, but I got pretty wasted here because I kept wanting to sample the amazing drink menu. Besides the drinks this place has amazing food, a great ambiance and a hip cosmopolitan crowd you wouldn't expect to find in Montana. The plates where small but expertly prepared and "gourmet" and the people here seemed more NY than MT. When I came here I had just come off 2 weeks filming a documentary with a bunch of cowboys, living in the mountains, eating sub-par food in -30F weather. The night we got back into town, we came here and it was the perfect way to celebrate the end of our production. I felt like I was in a big city having a very fancy meal, instead I was in a small town having a very fancy meal. read more

drinks. the orange juice in the hard picard put it on the tangy side and masked the beauty of the earl grey infused pineau des charentes. the bandaloop was a light, sweet, frothy treat but could stand to be a bit stronger. eats. the seared scallops with confit artichoke heart, preserved lemon relish, roasted tomato, and romesco sauce was a fitful layering of distinct flavors. it tasted high quality but i would have preferred my scallops seared for literally 2 seconds longer. the lemon relish was absolutely beautiful. also ordered the spanish castell de morella, a nutty, sweet goat milk with a light aroma of mushrooms served with smoked pumpkin seeds, apple slices, and baguette. this cheese was perfectly stinky. raging delicious paired with the soft apple flavor and crispy, delightful seeds. this place obviously caters to the richies of the area, giving them a watering hole that could be in any major city. for bozeman, this place rocks (in a major city i'd give them 3.25 stars). it was hoppin on a tuesday night and had some good, live jazz playing. the service was attentive and personable and the patrons were, for the most part, a good, classy bunch. ambient light and a long open layout gives plonk a nice aesthetic. read more

Ok. Plonk is nice. I haven't eaten here in a while, so I can judge that. They have a new chef, so I'm sure the food is better than it was. They have good cocktails, but the tend to be sweeter than my liking. So when I go, I try to stick with beer and wine. However, my friends LOVE the GFC. Plonk is not a good place to take someone you want to talk to, as it can get pretty loud in there. If you want a place that feels upscale w/fancy drinks, this may be the place to go. read more

I absolutely love coming here for drinks and their cheese plates. The atmosphere is great and the servers attentive and aware. Their plonk wine, cucumber drink and local teas don't disappoint. I typically avoid going here for dinner, because most of the options are over priced and the servings small for the high price tag. With that being said, there are plenty of reasonably priced options for small plates and drinks, just don't be afraid to ask if the price isn't listed on a special to avoid a shock when you get the bill. Really delicious food, lively ambiance (mix of both older and college) and friendly service. The food was impeccable presented and cooked. I had the rabbit sugo, my husband had the pork chop and we started with the cheese. All were fantastic. The house wine was good and local beer menu was as well. I came on a Monday night and the staff was clearly overwhelming by the amount of customers. Our food took a really long time and our server was is such a rush that she took my drink order without taking my husbands. We stopped in while walking around downtown Bozeman. Was a extremely pleasant surprise. Staff was great. Cocktail menu had great drinks. We ordered some small bites and a couple burgers. I highly recommend the large meat n cheese plate. Very tasty and the bread was still warm from the oven. If you just want something to nibble on while you work your way through the drink menu, I recommend the warm olives. My wife and I visited Plonk every day at varying times of the day for a week and love it! Everything from fresh and unique salads to Venison medallions with perfectly carmelized root veggies located in an upscale yet funky downtown environ. This place is a gem on Main Street. I love Montana but there is only so much white gravy and Bison burger a city-slicker can handle. Plonk is the answer. Start with Duck confit spring rolls, they're a must! I agree with previous reviews that the staff lacks particular knowledge about fine wine and food, but lets put it into context: its Main Street Bozeman not Manhattan (although it could be)! This should not discourage a true foodie who knows how to create their own experience. Besides one can always ask for a manager if you feel the menu and it's offerings daunting. Michael assisted us in selecting a perfect pairing. The wine list is extensive...have fun, we did...and thought the prices were quite fair. Wine not your thing!? No problem the signature cocktails at Plonk are World Class. Drinks with integrity, premium ingredients, and a heavy enough pour to satisfy. We are here last evening. I had the diver caught scallops with wild mushrooms...absolutely amazing. So good, so flavorful I had to remind myself to set my fork down between bites.
