So excited to have a new dessert place in the Mission Bay Area, especially so close by the UCSF housing. The ambiance is really nice! Although the space is small, there is enough seating for people to do work and have casual conversations together. The interior design is aesthetic and there's a good amount of lighting inside. The workers are also really friendly! Since they had just opened, they had a BOGO deal going on and that prompted a lot of people to keep coming back for more. My personal favorite across all Plenteas is their matcha so I would will be going back for that! read more

Unfortunately you cannot change the sweetness on these drinks, but I found them to be similar to my preferred taste of 50% sweet. I personally don't even like Oolong Tea that much, but this blend was light. - Popcorn chicken $9.50 (5/5) Honestly the popcorn chicken was DELICIOUS. Omg my drink and food were bomb! I had the sea salt cheese creama oolong tea. Creama was thick and rich, perfect taste and texture. I wanted to savor every sip of that creamy topping and tea! I just raved about the best I've had in the Inner Sunset (Yi Fang), but this one from Plentea could rival ANY spot in the city! The popcorn chicken really was the best (according to their menu)! Nice crunch, not oily, great seasoning. They do not have any sauce. They have mayo and sriracha packets to make your own. I wanted to hang out inside for awhile. Very convenient to Chase Center and Spark Social SF. Ordering can be done at the counter or on the touch screen system. We chose the touch screen as no one was manning the counter at all (all the workers were busy making drinks). When order drinks, one could request a glass or paper cup. The drinks came out at a reasonable time after we ordered. They were refreshing. However, when we ordered our fruit tea boba drinks, we requested reduced sugar because in our experience, most Boba tea is too sweet. This time, we were dead wrong. The drinks were almost unsweetened. The bobas were good; silky soft, and chewy, The fruit flavors seemed to be from fresh fruits but frankly too diluted for our taste. The staff was friendly but just too busy to engage the customers. Must say that the sitting area was clean and comfortable. Once we ordered my drink came out very quickly and the food shortly after! The staff was nice, there did seem to be confusion when they'd yell the peoples names for to pick up their order. I think maybe if they said the order number that maybe easier. Anyways they were nice and made everything quickly! I got the Honey Citrus Tea $5.75 it was tasty green tea inside it paired well with the citrus and honey not too overly caffeinated. I also got the popcorn chicken for $10.50 which seemed like a lot but they gave me so much I couldn't finish it and saved the rest for another time. I took the video after I had already ate some of the chicken. The flavor was nice, kinda salty similar to popcorn chicken I've had at other places. I'd definitely order these again! I was really excited to hear that a new Plentea opened! I came here on a weekday night with some friends to try the drinks. I got the Strawberry fruit tea with boba, and also tried my friend's Jasmine milk tea. I was a little disappointed with the strawberry tea-- although I could see strawberry chunks in the tea, it didn't taste like strawberry at all. I could taste a little lychee flavor, which was weird. The boba texture was pretty good though. The Jasmine milk tea was really good though-- it had a really strong tea flavor and was very floral. I really like how if you bring back the glass bottle, you get a 10% discount on the drink. It's a great way to make drinking boba more environmentally friendly. The shop itself is very clean and modern looking, lots of seating inside too. You order at the kiosk so be prepared for a cashless transaction. The drinks came out a bit slow as there were only 2 people working but there was an influx of customers probably all from the game. I ordered an earl gray milk tea with boba and grass jelly at 50% sweet. It was adequately sweetened and did not feel super sugary. The tea itself had a good flavor but the boba was slightly tough, lacking that soft and chewy texture that often elevates the drink to the next level. What I like is that they use glass bottles, and I'm all about that eco-friendly go green movement. They have a cool incentive to bring your glass back for 10% discount on a drink or bring 10 glasses back for a free drink. Their storefront is extremely clean, modern, and spacious with plenty of seating inside if you want to enjoy your drink on the premises. They also have a self order kiosk that was super easy to navigate and use. When I went, it was relatively empty and the workers were extremely attentive to us. I'm a big pure tea guy and the barista gave me a recommendation of a pure black tea which he made for me (wasn't even on the menu). We got a sea salt green milk tea with boba as well as the pure black tea with boba. The drinks came in cute glass bottles that you can bring back in future visits for discounts on other drinks! As for the drinks, they were just alright. The sea salt green tea was very creamy, not too sweet, but lacked a distinct tea flavor. The pure black tea was good, but I wish that the tea was brewed a little stronger as it tasted a little watered down. Their boba was also just okay. It was a little too soft for my liking and not as chewy as I am typically used to, but their proportion of boba to actual drink was on point. They also don't load their drinks with like half the glass of ice which another big plus. Overall, this is a pretty good boba spot! I'd come back if I were in the area and was craving some milk tea. I like the clean look at this location - it is a good spot to study as well in the open and spacious lobby space. One of the employees (he seemed like he may be the owner) was friendly and welcoming as well - he made sure that I knew there were outlets underneath the floor for my laptop. I tried the jasmine milk tea with boba and mango smoothie. The milk tea was creamy, but a tad bitter. The boba could had been a bit less chewy/rubbery, but it was alright. The mango smoothie was refreshing though, which I enjoyed. Overall, I would say it is around 4 stars for the experience itself - I enjoyed the aesthetics and vibe of this spot. read more

The teas are good quality, I like their sea salt cremas better than most and their self order kiosk is fast and responsive. I recently visit Plentea right after the Giants game before my drive back to San Jose. The shop has some good quality drinks and a cozy atmosphere to enjoy them. Drinks: Mango Smoothie 5/5 Simple and organic. We asked for 75% sweetness and they were on point. Not much additives that make you think they just use syrup for this drink. Mango Tea 4/5 Refreshing green tea with the right notes of Kent mangoes with each sip. Though the tea was just right, the bits of mango that they used were subpar. Sea Salt Creama Coffee 4/5 The housemade Sea Salt Creama was surprisingly delinquent. A good balance of sweet and salty that matches well with the coffee. For my preference, a little less creama as the saltiness overtakes the coffee once you sip it. Service: You order at a kiosk and is card only. As soon as I got my receipt, it took about 15-20 minutes. The shop had a few customers and no one ordered before us so I would expect the drinks to come out a bit quicker. If you're a tea connoisseur or just need a tasty drink to enjoy, Plentea is great place to stop by, especially after the Warriors/Giants game! read more
