Cute spot! Clean, lots of cool new and classic options. Got the egg pudding as a topping, super yum. The boba was chill, not the best but not the worst.
For whatever reason, I'm always mildly surprised whenever I see a boba joint in the Mission. Not sure why, given the diverse multitude of restaurants and eateries around here and boba's immense popularity, but it's always unexpected. However, for whatever reason, it felt particularly true when we unexpectedly came across Brew Cha. Not that I minded in the least - given how it was such a warm day out, we were more than happy to drop in for a cool, sweet treat! Located on the corner of 18th and a residential alley street off Mission, Brew Cha feels easy to miss if you aren't looking for it (it's the newest building on the block). Stepping inside, the space felt a bit small, especially now that they've blocked off the back part of the seating area, but they still have some tables and couches if you're looking for a place to sit (they also have some board games and a claw machine). As for the menu, it's pretty extensive, featuring a variety of fruit teas and slushes, organic matcha based drinks, milk tea, lattes, and a mix of other specialty offerings. No food/snack options from what I could tell, though. -- UBE LATTE Not bad, but not as good as I had hoped. On the plus side, this had a nice bit of milkiness/creaminess to it and the sweetness was just right (requested 50% sweet). That being said, unfortunately, the taste of the ube was really subtle/light. -- STRAWBERRY MATCHA LATTE This looked great in the photos on their ordering tablet, but what we ended up getting was just okay. Thankfully, this wasn't too sweet, but the taste of the strawberry in this was also really muted. What's more, though far from the worst thing, the consistency was a little thin. Between how we only tried two drinks and how promising some of their other drinks looked, there's a decent chance that our experience may not reflect the best that Brew Cha has to offer. At the very least, given how similar our drinks were, it's entirely possible that their lattes just aren't as good as their fruit teas, slushes, and milk tea. I certainly wouldn't mind finding out in the future, but it'll definitely have to wait until the next time I'm already in the Mission. Considering how tough parking can be, I may be curious, but I'm not that curious. THREE AND A HALF STARS rounded down for now.

This is a great place to grab a refreshing drink after a hike/run in SF! Located in the Mission, it's easy to get to by foot but not so easy to drive there or find parking. Once you're inside though there are convenient kiosks for you to place your order and pick up your drink at the counter. Not much seating inside so this may be more of a grab and go place, but I love their fruit drinks so will make it a point to stop here whenever I'm in the area.
I've tried a few milk teas here now and I've loved them all. You can customize pretty much anything and I would lower the sugar level - drinks tend to be sweet. Drinks are $6-7 but some alt milks are free and most drinks come with boba Great menu selection, hard to decide what to order. The crème brûlée topping is rich without feeling too heavy and the boba here is absolutely perfect. Matcha drinks are well balanced, loved the fresh strawberry flavor. Black sesame matcha is SO good. I loved the earthy nutty flavor!
If you know me you know I take my boba VERY seriously. Brew Cha was nearby and open late so we decided to give it a try. Menu items are reasonably priced. I got the Tie Guan Yin Milk Tea with boba. Boba was delicious - perfectly chewy with the brown sugar flavor coming through. The milk tea though tasted watered down - tea flavor was not super strong and I expect a strong tea flavor from tie guan yin tea. Overall, not bad for the price.
First time trying this place. I got the brown sugar boba drink. The boba itself is chewy and melts in your mouth, but the milktea itself tasted just like regular milk. The drink I got was basically just milk with boba to me. They have an order kiosk, and parking can be hard. I'd go back again to try their other drinks next time.
I had great expectations with this place after reading the other reviews. You can't beat their price for 24oz. Unfortunately, the iPad ordering system is confusing. The typical tea shop charges for boba but "milk" is included. Brew cha includes boba but only offers speciality milk options (oat almond soy etc) so you get sweet tea similar to that of the south with a blob of boba. BUT I must admit the black tea is fantastic on its own. The clerk didn't care that I wasn't happy with the order. Nice shop but took their "sweet" time getting drinks out. Next time I'll order a specialty drink to avoid any confusion.
Was on the lookout for a slush drink and decided to stop by Brew Cha before heading over to Dolores Park. I ordered the blueberry slush while my fried tried the Chestnut Creme Brûlée Milk Tea. There was a surprisingly large line the time we went, so it took about 20 minutes for our drink to be ready. There's two kiosks for you to self-order from, and I think you would be able to place an order with a worker too if you wanted to. While waiting, we decided to give the claw machines a try -- total scam like you would expect LOL. I mean if you wanna play for vibes, then I guess it's a bit fun, but don't expect to win anything. For the drinks, I loved my blueberry slush but my friend didn't think the Chestnut Creme Brulee was that impressive. I gave it a try also and didn't really like the taste either. Overall decent boba spot.
Solid boba spot with good quality tea and a wide variety of sweet options, fruit teas, and build your own mix. The ssf location is smaller but it's less busy and by a nice walking trail. The service is quick and easy. I liked our drinks, but found the tea itself was not as strong as I'd prefer. The Ube Taro was sweet and dessert-like so I would get it again.

Got some tea from this Mission District shop and it helped me feel cool. It looks like a pretty simple place with a few couches inside. Brew Cha has bubble and fruit teas with boba. Okay prices. There's not a whole lot of atmosphere it seems. A lot of good flavors. It's about $5 for a tea. This is a pretty reasonable price with it being in a big cup as well. Has typical and less common flavors to choose from. I got the White Grape Fruit Tea. A good choice. This had a fruity sweetness but it wasn't like it was crazy overwhelming. Having tea is the main attraction. It's got a few couches inside but it's pretty bare bones. This is okay to hang out for a few minutes or whatever.

We ordered Crème brûlée matcha and Mango tea. They were excellent! The matcha was with 50% sweet perfectly balanced the sweetness of crème brûlée. The matcha was not too strong but the fragrance was amazingly good. The owner is super friendly and professional. Highly recommended! read more
The Chestnut Crème Brûlée Latte (milk tea) was not good at all because it was sooo thick and overly sweet, despite getting only half-sweetness level. It was like a super sweet pudding. I had to throw it away after only a few sips. read more
We came in for a quick drink in the afternoon and it was relatively busy. I got the black sugar latte and it was pretty good. Drinks came out also reasonably a quick and the staff was really nice. There are a few seating areas, definitely a great spot to socialize or studying. read more

Their tiramisu milk tea is soooo good!!! First time trying it and it was very deliciously creamy. 10/10, I finished it in less than a minute. Nice boba shop to chill at. They have board games too. I brought my laptop to do some work and hang out. It was nice and quiet around the evening. read more

Boba places have popped up all around San Francisco and has become a common place to go to enjoy Boba tea. The Mission had many places to get Boba over the years. When Boba Guys closed a few years ago Brew Cha has remained in the area a few blocks over and still serves one of the most natural organic Boba Teas in San Francisco on 18th street between Mission and San Carlos street. The difference between Brew Cha and other Boba places is their quality of tea and their process of using an espresso machine technology to keep the freshness and flavor of the natural tea. It's in their namesake Brew Cha (cha means tea in Chinese and Brazilian Portuguese). I got the Passion Fruit Green Tea which was not too sweet at my request to the Bobatender. It was refreshing but there was lots of seeds in the bottom of the drink. It was also tasty and you can taste the natural green tea flavor. They have lots of other good drinks on the menu like the Lavender Matcha Latte and their Ube Taro Latte. If you like organic natural tea flavors this is the place to go. Get a cup of boba from the Bobatender with natural tea from the tea ecology Brew Cha is brewing not beer but brewing premium tea with espresso machine technology read more
Brew Cha is right in the heart of Mission, and close to other really good food spots. It's a little small, but there's a divider in the middle of the shop so currently it's not as spacious as it could be as a location to hang out. They have a self service kiosk similar to other boba shops, and I thought that the Ceylon milk tea was quite tasty! It's a nice place to try out! read more
I went here on a Saturday around 3:45pm and there was no wait! There was a few people sitting at the tables there at the time though. We ordered the Creme Brulee Milk Tea and the Mixed Slush with Mango & Pineapple. Both drinks were good, but the creme brulee drink tasted like normal milk tea at first. The Creme Brulee Milk Tea tasted a lot better once the creme brulee got well mixed with the tea. They also have board games and claw machines here too! I didn't play any of the board games or the claw machines, but the board games they have are games like Monopoly, Jenga!, and Connect 4 which are all fun. I'd recommend this place! They have a wide variety of teas, lattes, boba drinks, claw machine games, AND board games too! I also really enjoyed the slush drink since it was very refreshing and I liked how they give you the option to choose what flavors you wanted to mix with it. read more

The drinks were good! I'm still not used to paying $7 for boba but that seems to be the standard for SF these days. I liked that they have comfortable seating in the shop. Got the fresh passionfruit tea and the Ceylon black milk tea. Both were very solid. read more

The Creme Brûlée Matcha Latte is a must! It was the right amount of sweet but not too sweet. Ordering was easy since it was on a tablet and the staff was super attentive and fast. Definitely stop by if you're looking for a quick boba drink in the Mission! They have a massive Milk Tea selection with some fruit teas on the side. read more

I've been meaning to try this place for a while and I thought this place was pretty good. I'm usually not someone that tries different flavored boba aside from milk teas, but I wanted to try something different this time. The store is decently sized with board games and a crane machine inside, so it's a great place to come if you just wanna chill out or whatever. I ended up getting the Ube Taro Latte since that seemed like one of their signatures. I got that and I thought it was good. It had a light starchy texture to it and the ube/taro flavor was pretty pronounced. The boba was nice, warm, and soft since I came to this place right before they opened. But to be fair, it didn't have that sweetness that I'm looking for but at least the boba had a good chew to it. Would I get this drink again? Personally for me no, but it was good to try! I like lighter drinks and this wasn't up-my-alley. But by no means, you may it like a lot more than me! Give this place a shot if you're around the area. We haven't had such good boba like this in such awhile! The boba pearls were super soft and fresh. The drinks were made perfectly as advertised. We had the Diamond Mixed Berries GH and the Black Sesame Matcha Latte GH teas and they were so delicious. The sesame drink had a good amount of sesame while the berry drink had a perfect amount of berries and was delicious. This is a great boba shop and I really appreciate the variety of flavors here! read more

I have been wanting to go to this Boba shop for a while and finally got the chance when I was nearby while it was still open. First impressions, it looked okay. It at least had some nice screen menus and a kiosk. There was also some claw games and board games you can play there. However, not a very good array of prizes or games. Also, the room was very sparse of anything else. Definitely isn't a place you want to hang out in or stay long. The service was fine. They just mainly served drinks there since everyone seemed to order ahead or from the kiosk. The saving grace was that they were pretty fast. As for the drinks, we mostly ordered on the top 10 list. On the top 10, we ordered the Ube Taro Latte and Lavender Matcha Latte with Boba. We also ordered the Jasmine Green Milk Tea with Boba on the regular menu. All of the drinks we ordered with Lactose Free Milk and less Ice. The Ube Taro Latte was okay. You could kind of taste the Ube and Taro, but it was mostly watered down by the Milk. Definitely not even close to the best that I have had before. The Matcha Lavender Latte was mostly a green colored Lavender Latte. You couldn't even taste the Matcha since it was way overpowered by the Lavender flavor. The Jasmine Green Milk Tea was the worst of all. This was even worse than your regular basic Jasmine Milk Tea since it tasted like the basic Lipton Tea. We had to force ourselves to drink that one. As for the Boba itself, it was okay. It was thankfully not hard and was on the softer side of life. But definitely had better quality Boba. Overall, the trip to this Boba shop was a big waste of money and time. Very subpar Tea here. Definitely not coming back for the Tea or lack of ambiance. read more

Ordering a boba drink at 75% sweetness level rather than the full 100% is what I like to call maturity. Brew Cha's Black Sugar Crème Brûlée Latte ($6.50) tastes like the dessert it's named after. With all its various sugary elements (black sugar, custard, & crystallized smoky raw brown sugar), 50% sweet would've sufficed. On my second visit, I wanted a less decadent drink with a similar flavor profile -- Black Sugar Latte ($6.25) was just as amazing without being thick & heavy like my first order. Both times, I specified organic whole milk, less ice, less black boba (which turned out to be a good call because their boba isn't as soft as I like), & added egg pudding for $0.60. Consistently good iced drinks & friendly staff -- Brew Cha, you make a good first (& second) impression. read more

Can the boba be made vegan?
Boba is naturally vegan (tapioca) but it depends on the sweetener used when cooking it. I believe their black boba is sweetened with honey and their white boba is not. I would call to double check.
Are the ube taro lattes made with both ube and taro? Or are they saying that ube is the same as taro?
They're different, and it's made with both ube and taro!
What are the non caffeinated bubble tea options here?
