The matcha at HeyTea was SO delicious! I got the iced cold matcha latte and absolutely loved it. It was super sweet, creamy, and had such a good matcha flavor. Definitely recommend giving it a try! This is the worst location to order drinks from. I had a very disappointing customer service experience. I simply asked, politely, if my drink could be remade, and the staff member responded by grunting, yelling, "I've made your drink already," and rolling her eyes at me. When she did remake the drink, I thanked her and acknowledged her help, but she simply turned away without responding. The attitude and lack of basic courtesy were very disappointing. I also reached out to management about my experience, but it took two weeks to receive a response. Unfortunately, rather than addressing my concerns, the manager seemed more focused on defending the staff member. I was also unable to speak with the manager by phone and could only communicate through text. After both the initial experience and the way my complaint was handled, I have no reason to return to this location. Very disappointing customer service from both the staff and management. read more

My family thinks I go to every tea/boba shops in the City. I mean, they are not completely correct but they are not wrong either. I TRY! One of my favorite tea spots, that doesn't necessarily have Boba but it can be considered a boba/milk tea spot. This location is right outside of the metreon, the entrance is outside and it can be busy! You can download the app and order before pick up, they have a self serve kiosk and people also taking orders. It's always so busy and such a flow at any heytea I go to, the workers are always so hard working and make hundreds of drinks. I did an order for my friends, I personally like the mango grapefruit bloom, it feels like a drink you'd get on vacation! My friends got coconut mango bloom, cloud bloom (cloud is the cheese topping), pistachio cloud coconut, triple supreme matcha latte. I'd like to try some of their other drinks in the future! Not terrible but not great. Felt like it was a pretty limited menu and there were a number of things that they were sold out of when I went. Dropped by on a late afternoon mid-week. There was a conference happening nearby so the shop was pretty packed. There are two tablets to order from or you can order at the counter (if someone is available to help you). I really dislike the boba shops that rely mostly on tablet ordering because if you're not familiar with their menu and stop by on a whim, like I did, you feel pressured to rush through the menu so you're not holding up the line. About halfway through scrolling the menu, I was bored with the vast majority of the options and a couple of the drinks I wanted were sold out. The only other one that sounded genuinely appealing and interesting was the pistachio cloud jasmine, which they at least had in stock. Despite the large crowd standing around waiting, my drink came in less than ten minutes. It had a good nutty flavor and was the perfect amount of sweetness, nothing cloying. But you had to mix the pistachio foam into the drink if you wanted it to permeate the entire thing, otherwise it was just sitting on top and the drink didn't have any other pistachio flavoring. It was a good drink, but I wouldn't go out of my way to find a Heytea to order it again. No problems with this particular location, the staff were friendly and the drink was made well, I'm just not impressed by Heytea generally speaking and don't really have much desire to return or to seek out other locations. read more

You can even choose 0 cal sweetener to lower the calories intake, which I did, so I didn't feel guilty at all drinking the whole thing! Heytea drew me with their illustrative brand, and I was so excited to try with lots of reviews saying their matcha is good, but it's not good. Pure Matcha Latte - matcha is on the floral side but other than that, no depth. No buttery or nuttiness. It's not that strong and it's even bitter. There's also no option to choose alt milks (even tho I know they have oat milk!). They use "organic milk" but wish they specified the brand (like many other cafes will proudly say Straus dairy for example). But the milk isn't amazing either. Definitely I would also suggest calling in your order ahead of time on the app, because sometimes it can take between 20 to 30 minutes. I usually go for milk teas with boba, but I've been converted on fruit drinks thanks to coconut mango boom and green grape boom. What sets their fruit drinks apart for me is the super super smooth and fragrant jasmine tea slush. The drinks with boba are also excellent, I really like the soft and chewiness of their boba. Finished up a dentist appointment nearby, so I decided to treat myself. I ordered the Triple Supreme Matcha Latte, which comes with jelly and a soft top. I ordered it with less sugar, but it was still definitely on the sweeter side and honestly tasted very similar to Starbucks' matcha. If you like sweeter matcha drinks, you'll probably enjoy it. I also ordered the Coconut Mango Boom with light sweetness. It was good, but nothing particularly memorable. I'd say it tastes pretty similar to what you can get at most other boba shops. One downside is that they don't offer any milk alternatives, which was a bit disappointing. Ordering was also a little confusing. There was one self-service kiosk and only one cashier. I wasn't sure how to order at first, but after looking around for a bit, the cashier came out and helped me. A colleague (and boba connoisseur) insisted that HeyTea was one of the top boba places in the city, so I was excited to taste it for myself. The cafe in the Metreon is clean and modern, and you place your order at the kiosk. My colleague highly recommended the Matcha Supreme, so I ordered this with the "recommended" sweetness level. There wasn't a line to order on the weekday afternoon that we visited, although the queue from online orders kept us waiting about 10-15 minutes for our drinks. When our drinks were prepared, I was delighted when I saw that the lids have a built-in opening for your straw so that you don't have to stab the plastic lining and risk spilling your drink everywhere. The matcha was smoother and creamier than most matcha lattes I've tried before, and the matcha foam on top was next-level. The jelly added interesting textural contrast, although we noticed that our drinks were missing the matcha mochi (which we realized too late after we'd already left the shop). I came here on a Sunday around 5:30pm. There were 3 other people in there ordering drinks at the one kiosk available. There's not much seating at this location, but most people were doing boba runs, so the seats were available. I think that there were 4-6 seats in the store. The interior looks so nice with the neutral lighting and light brown wood counters. There's a screen at the top left that shows when your order is being prepared vs. when it's ready. I ordered the black tea latte with brown sugar bobo. I adjusted the sweetness to minimal sugar. I was considering the jasmine tea latte, but there was no option to add the brown sugar bobo. I'm guessing it's because the brown sugar would overpower the jasmine tea flavor. Between ordering and getting my order, it took around 3 minutes which was pretty quick. As soon as I got my drink, I could feel the warm boba through the cup which was nice! The drink was really good with a medium-strong tea flavor, but a bit on the sweeter side due to the brown sugar syrup. I think next time, I would try no sugar for the black tea latte because the brown sugar syrup should be enough to sweeten it. I usually go for 25% sweetness for milk tea, so with minimal sugar + brown sugar bobo, I feel like the drink was closer to 50-75% sweet. The boba was soft chewy which I love! For quick service, soft chewy boba, and good tea flavor, I would definitely come again when I'm in the area! read more
