I came on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't too busy. I ordered the Osmanthus Matcha latte and it was delicious. The osmanthus was very subtle but added a nice delicate touch on top of the matcha. My other friend also got the matcha mango and really enjoyed it! I would definitely come back here again:)
Oy. The strength of their matcha is not for the faint of heart. Like literally, it is so strong you will feel your heart beating through your whole body and in your ears and you will also see it in your friends' faces lol. If you're okay with that, the drinks taste great! I love me a Matcha Einspanner ($7.50) and this was nicely sweetened with the strong matcha taste, my personal preference. I hate when the matcha flavor is lost in a drink, and I didn't experience that here. I tried my friend's Banana Pudding Matcha Einspanner ($8.50) and it was properly topped with banana pudding...it even came with a little spoon to scoop it out :) I liked that the banana thickness mixed into the matcha to add to the flavor profile. It was super strong, almost bitter, so it might not be for everyone. My friend just got matcha and water, and he had to add more water to dilute it to make the taste more manageable lol Since I like my matcha as potent as possible, I will be back! The earl gray matcha latte ($7.25) sounds good :)
Valencia street is one of best places to enjoy food and drinks in the city of San Francisco. Whenever someone wants to visit San Francisco I always recommend Valencia street and not Mission street. Although the Mission District in part of Valencia street I always felt Valencia vibes were always different just being born and raised a block away. The home of the first Mission style burrito is on Valencia street and the same block as the legendary Stone Mill Matcha. The newest place for matcha has arrived on Valencia street and it's located where Don Juan De La Matcha grew up in SF and it's called Ceré Tea. On a Summer stroll on Valencia street from the historic Levi's plant building and past the Valencia Gardens and along La Cumbre the first place to make the Mission Style burrito in the world and past first Dandelion Chocolate store location I landed at Cere Tea. Inside there are so many matcha flavors to pick from like the Sunny Side Up Matcha Einspänner and the Matcha Mango which you can add a cheese foam top like some in SF. I got the Banana Pudding Matcha Einspänner and it was tasty and not too sweet and very smooth. The banana pudding on top should be eaten and enjoyed with a spoon. They also have seasonal drinks like purple yam flavored Snowy Ube. A good new edition for matcha in SF at Valencia street in the Mission. Visit Ceré Tea on Valencia street with Don Juan de la Matcha and enjoy a matcha "delight"and then take "flight"to other places like Anatolian Table, Apna Chula, Beretta, Thanh Tam ll on Valencia street for a "bite" it's also where you find the party people in SF on Valencia street day or "night " Going to Valencia street is another dimension of the "Mission Universe "it is a fun place in SF and very "diverse" you can have dumplings at Dumpling Story and La Cumbre for the Mission style burritos because in the world it was the "first" and if you want to enjoy a matcha with different flavors go to Ceré Tea to fulfill your Matcha "thirst"
I always enjoy stopping by Ceré Tea for their earl grey matcha! It can be surprisingly difficult to find earl grey matcha in the city that has both a good balance of flavor & high quality matcha, but Ceré Tea hits the matcha spot every time. The matcha is always consistent, smooth and the perfect amount of sweetness. When I need a good pick me up I come to Ceré Tea!
Hojicha latte was flavorful and creamy while their seasonal guava matcha was ok - still sweet at 50% and wasn't digging the guava flavor. Drinks are quite strong and pricey. Self service checkout.
Cere tea has multiple locations in the Bay Area but decided to stop by the Valencia location today. The place is modern and clean. They are known for their matcha so naturally ordered a couple of matcha drinks Guava Matcha and Black Sesame Matcha Einspanner. I believe the Guava Matcha is trending as not a lot of places offer this specific drink. I found the guava taste a little overpowering and the drink overall a little too sweet, masking some of the matcha flavor. The matcha was smooth and creamy, not too bitter. On the other hand, we enjoyed the Black Sesame Matcha a little more. The black sesame was pronounced but not too overpowering. One of the better black sesame matcha I've had. The matcha was smooth and strong, but not bitter which has happened at other matcha places I've tried. At over $9 a drink, not certainly cheap but worth a splurge if you are in the mood.

There's only one kiosk. Note the when it asks for matcha level, it lists half or additional, default is NO press. The matcha drinks come out quickly. There's a couple tables and was super clean. Was able to get a sit and do work with their quick wifi. Overall, my favorite matcha place.
This was just a big disappointment. The only plus that we got the drinks pretty fast, but that was it. There was really no customer interaction at all even though it wasn't busy. We ordered the Osmanthus Hojicha and Strawberry Cream Matcha both with an extra shot of Hojicha and Matcha. The Strawberry Cream Matcha was a major disappointment. You could hardly taste any Strawberry or Matcha even though we ordered the drink with an extra shot of Matcha. You would think you would taste the Matcha more based on us paying more for an extra shot, but it was just a disappointing drink that hardly had any flavor at all. Thankfully the Osmanthus Hojicha was a little better and you could taste the Hojicha a little more, but we have had Hojicha with a more robust taste. Definitely a disappointment especially with the fact we paid more for an extra shot of Hojicha. Overall, very bland and weak tasting Tea that hardly has any flavor, especially for the price we paid.

I asked the barista what the difference is between their matcha einspanner and matcha latte, and they said they are the same, except the einspanner has additional vanilla cream at the top. Decided to try the matcha einspanner as I have already tried their double matcha before. The drink came out very quickly and was delicious! I don't like my drinks TOO sweet so I got 50% and it was perfect. A great matcha spot.
Their soft opening special is the guava matcha so had to get that and it was delish! Slight grainy vibes from the puree tho which doesn't bother me too much but takes away from the smoothness of the drink. I also taste more guava than matcha but still solid! In general, there are soooo many tempting options! I definitely want to come back to try their "sunny-side up" mango matcha and hojicha :) Open space, good amount of seating and service is quick on weekdays. My drink was ready in under 5mins!
Top tier drink. Whipped cream was decadent. Yolk in sunny side up is mango syrup, which was a nice complement to the matcha. Wait wasn't too bad, even on a Sunday.
Lots of fun menu options here! I tried the guava cloud Matcha and enjoyed it. The cloud was nice and tangy and the guava flavor throughout tasted real and not too sweet. Would come back!
I came here during the soft opening and I'm really glad that there is now a great matcha soot in the mission especially near the 24th street Mission area. I came here around 10:30 AM on a weekday and it was pretty quiet, but there are a few tables here that you can sit at and the interior is clean and bright. There's also free Wi-Fi, which is a great plus if you need to work. I got the iced guava matcha (less sweet) and it was really good. I loved how smooth the macho was and the guava cream was scrumptious -- had a perfect hint of tropical flavor without being too overpowering. I'd love to come back and try more flavors and highly recommend you check out this place. If you're in the area the workers are also very sweet and friendly!

Companion knows I love matcha, and since we were on the mission, he found Ceré Tea for us! We had both never been, and I quite enjoyed my drink and experience. We arrived on a weekend afternoon. It was busy inside, but there was no line to order. They have a tablet you order on, plus a menu to browse. There are so many matcha options; it was overwhelming in a good way! My companion ordered for us on the tablet while I got a table. They have a decent number of tables; most folks just hung out, while some were working. Drinks came out very fast as well. Love that they're dog-friendly too! I got the Sunny Side Up Matcha Einspänner with Soy Milk. The default sweetness is half, which I kept. The matcha here is really in-your-face! Strong, vibrant, and grassy. I love mango--and it was so cute and aesthetic. The mango was a nice pairing, not too sweet, and a decent amount. Overall, it was a rich, creamy drink, and I'd order it again. I'd love to try other drinks as well. If you're in the area, I recommend Ceré Tea for unique and bold matchas. They have other locations too. Find them off Valencia Street with street or garage parking nearby. read more

Earl Grey Matcha Latte 8/10 - good earl grey flavor that was consistent throughout the drink. a bit too milky although the matcha flavor still pulled through Strawberry Matcha Einspanner 7.5/10 -the matcha color was promising but a bit too sweet at 75% which was the main flavor profile of the drink. Einspanner cream was really good! Osmanthus Matcha Latte with an extra shot of matcha and boba 8/10 -the matcha flavor was strong without overpowering the osmanthus flavor! -boba was soft and of a good size and didn't take away from the flavor of the drink Service was good! They were really fast in making the drinks and were very accommodating! read more

First time trying this spot! Storefront was pretty subtle so very easy to miss unless you know where you're going. There is some indoor seating and you order your drink off an iPad. The shop is clean & minimalistic. Our drinks came out to $17 for two before tip. Service was quick - we got a guava matcha cloud (soft opening special) and a banana pudding matcha einspanner. The guava comes at 50% sweetness & the banana pudding comes at 75% sweetness. I thought the banana pudding matcha was so good! I am definitely not a matcha snob & no expert by any means but really enjoyed the flavors. The guava matcha was also very good, less sweet obviously @ 50%. Would come back! read more
There's another matcha spot in the mission! Of course, I had to try it out. I ordered the matcha guava cloud with 50% sugar (lowest option available) and whole milk. Overall, the drink was pretty decent. However, I personally thought it was still way too sweet. The sweetness of the guava cloud overshadowed the muted flavor of the matcha. I could barely taste the matcha. For a drink that's $8.50 pre-tax/tip, I guess I had higher expectations. I'd come back here again if I want a fun, fruity flavored matcha drink. But if I want a higher quality matcha latte, I'll go elsewhere. read more
The earl grey hojicha here was just okay to me- I couldn't really taste the earl grey flavor. Or the hojicha flavor either actually, the drink was pretty milky. I think the regular matcha my friend got was a lot better, and maybe it was my bad for getting 50% sweet as I'm sure that affects the lack of earl grey flavor. read more

"Starbucks" *SLAPS FOREHEAD* I've been a huge fan of Ceré Tea since they first opened in Saratoga (back when they were Ceremony Tea), so I'm excited to see them expanding into the city. Over the weekend, they opened their fourth Bay Area location in the Mission. IMO, the bay is starting to get oversaturated with matcha shops but Ceré Tea stands out with unique flavors like guava, raspberry, banana pudding, and okinawan brown sugar. For the caffeine sensitive, they have a hōjicha (roasted green tea) series. Drinks are $6-$8.50 (one size) and dairy alternatives (oat, almond, soy, and lactose free milk) are available for +85 cents. D R I N K S * Black Sesame Hōjicha Einspänner ($8) - Request 50% sweet My fav part was the deeply nutty, earthy black sesame cream along with the whipped topping. While the hōjicha looked the part, it was watery and bland, missing the toasty, chocolatey notes you'd typically expect. * Strawberry Matcha Einspänner ($7.75) Not mine but friend who's only had matcha at Starbucks enjoyed it. S E R V I C E Contactless service, order via one kiosk. Drinks were ready in several minutes on a weekday. A M B I A N C E Modern, minimalist space with a handful of 6-7 tables. Since they have WiFi, all the tables were taken by laptop campers. Several peeps were taking up multiple tables for themselves. No restroom available. Overall, I'm happy to see Ceré Tea open in the city (tho parking is the worst of all the locations). I was a bit disappointed in my drink, but I'm hoping it's just early opening kinks rather than a drop in quality as they expand. read more

Cere Tea in Valencia. Overall: 4.5/5 Overall, a solid matcha cafe but a bit pricey. Drinks have quite a bit of ice. You can get no ice but that is an extra $2.00. Matcha has a good, earthy flavor. Has a nice seating area with plenty of light from the open windows Tried the soft opening special, Matcha Guava Cloud and the "sunny side up matcha einspanner". Guava cloud was was excellent with a subtle but noticeable guava taste and a good strong earthy matcha flavor. Sunny side up drink was interesting. The sunny side up is a whip cream with a mango syrup. It made for a very creamy drink with the cream mixed in but the mango flavor was a bit overpowering compared to the matcha. In this drink the matcha took more of a back meat compared to the guava drink. Had mango chunks which was quite nice. Drinks are price, most over $7 without changes. 50% sweet on both drinks was perfect. read more
One of my friends and I organized a café & cowork day where we invited my, her, and our friends. Ceré was the optimal choice because it's located centrally, is open during and even after business hours, and has free wifi and a decent amount of space for the win. I arrived around the end of the lunch hour and upon entering, I headed to the kiosk to place my order. I got a strawberry matcha latte with oat milk. After placing my order, I found some of my friends and set up to work. After about 15 minutes passed, my name had still not been called, so I went to investigate. I asked one of the baristas if they received an order for "Jade", but they said they never did. It appears the system glitched out. At that point, another one of my friends arrived, but she went to put her stuff down, so I tried ordering again. On the second attempt, I noticed the seasonal guava cloud drink was available again. When I first ordered, it was out of stock. I decided to try it instead and ordered it 50% sweet with oat milk. The second time, my order was processed, and I received a receipt via text. When I received my drink, I gave it a good stir, as the guava puree had settled at the bottom. At first the guava cloud matcha didn't taste very sweet, but it got really sweet toward the end, surprisingly. I found the matcha itself kind of watered down. I would've preferred it a bit creamier but overall not bad, and the guava powder, puree, and cream tip had a very pleasant taste. read more
This has quickly become one of my go-to spots for matcha in the city. I've tried both the matcha guava cloud and the sunny side up matcha einspanner, and both strike a great balance between strong matcha and a sweet, fruity complement. You really can't go wrong with either, it just comes down to which fruit flavor you prefer - guava or mango Ordering is done through a tablet, and while there is some seating, it can fill up pretty quickly. Drinks are good. * Kokuto (brown sugar syrup) Hojicha Latte (4/5): I appreciate a good Hojicha that still comes through enough despite the fact that brown sugar is also very strong. * Osmanthus Matcha Latte (4/5): Haven't had Osmanthus with matcha before and it's not for me but the matcha is good. We ordered on DoorDash (for the 25% discount), but the drinks were made quickly. It wasn't too busy. read more
I stopped by Cere Tea recently for a matcha and despite being shocked by the price of matcha nowadays, did overall enjoy my drink. I preordered online and it was ready for pick-up when I arrived. The store is very minimal and clean, with a mirror on the wall for photo opps and a good amount of seating. When I was there, there were several people studying. You can submit song requests to be played, which is fun. I got the osmanthus matcha latte, 50% sweet, with lactose-free milk for an extra 85 cents. My total was $8.10, which is insane. Definitely need to make more matcha at home because this is not sustainable for me. The matcha was a gorgeous, gorgeous green, so I knew from the jump that this was some great matcha. The latte was a good balance of tea and milk, and I sucked real osmanthus flowers up through my straw, so that flavor was definitely present. The earthiness of the matcha provided an interesting contrast with the delicate floral sweetness of the osmanthus, and I've never had these two flavors together before. I really enjoyed my drink and will definitely come back (but not too often!) when I'm in the area! read more
I went back to Cere Tea and decided to try their Double Matcha and wow this one is for serious matcha lovers! Stronger and bolder than their regular matcha, it packs a rich, earthy punch that really wakes up your taste buds!! At the same time, it is smooth and creamy, hitting that balance without being bitter or too sweet. Cere Tea continues to impress with consistency and quality. If you love matcha and want something stronger than the usual, the Double Matcha is a must-try. I am already looking forward to my next visit and maybe trying one of their signature creations!! read more
Match guava cloud (75% sweetness) - perfectly sweetened, can def taste the guava purée and love how there's no artificial aftertaste. the cream top is mixed into the drink so it's not too heavy. matcha is smooth, highly recommend! I was so excited and happy to see that cere tea is open in SF too! Bright interior with seating available. Great place to come if you want a sweet drink! The Saratoga location is my usual go-to, and this SF Mission location does not disappoint! I will definitely be returning to this location!! Guava matcha: soft opening special. I don't think it's a permanent drink because this is the first time I've seen it. The guava cream pairs with the matcha so well! Came here for the soft opening on 3/8, which was a perfect venture on a sunny day! Cute cafe in the Mission serving up pretty unique matcha drinks. They have a few locations in the Bay and this is their newest one. They have limited indoor seating :) Matcha guava cloud (8.5/10) - top tier, one of the best matchas I've had in SF! The guava cloud cream was so fragrant and did not taste artificial at all. You really have to mix the matcha, guava cloud and guava fruit chunks well! I got 75% sweetness and thought it was just right. read more
YUM, probably the best one I've tried for matcha! If I get it again which I will, I would do 30% sweetness (Matcha earl grey). Took 5 mins for my drink to come out so very efficient! The spot has a place to sit and drink if you want! Strawberry tea we got was a bit too sweet but if we get 30% it'd probably be so tasty! read more
Ceré is my tried and true coffee shop!! I'm so glad they opened a location in the Mission. This location is really cute, with good seating that makes it a perfect location to study or do work. It's also close to the BART station, making it easily accessible to people by public transit! Their matcha never misses. It's strong and smooth, and I love all their creative flavors. My favorites are their matcha einspanner and their osmanthus matcha!! Their hojicha is also really good too! read more

Got recommended this place, so I wanted to try it out. We ordered a Matcha Guava Cloud which was part of their soft opening menu and a Banana Pudding Matcha Einspanner. It was $17 for both drinks, so the pricing is quite typical. The drinks were both very delicious, not overwhelmingly sweet, and the matcha was great! Would definitely come back again because there are other options on their menu that I want to try. read more

Tried the Earl grey matcha and hojicha drinks, the matcha is VERY strong. Wonderful, good quality matcha flavor, but I think they put almost too much in there. Loved that they had many flavored matcha lattes to choose from. read more

Latest visit: Tuesday 6.6.26 - I had been to the ceretea in Burlingame and really enjoyed the hojicha there so I was really excited that we finally got one in SF! - location was nice, some seating, bright and airy and had some outlets. ---- [ menu ] - hojicha latte w/ banana pudding top: I love hojicha and the latte was not bad but I wouldnt get the banana pudding with it. Especially if you're on the go as the banana pudding top is more suited for sitting down and digging into it. Which it was good but as I was on the go, I had to stir it in and it just because incredibly chunky. ALSO the worst part of this is that my drink total was $9 (+1 for tip so $10) and thaaaat's a little much. Even the regular banana pudding matcha cost less:( Next time I'll just get regular hojicha latte. ---- Would I come back again?: Yeaaaaahh to try the other drinks. * review based on several visits at Burlingame location read more
walked past this and didn't even realize it was cere tea till i did a double take, very unbranded/undecorated storefront so it's easy to miss. ordered on a tablet at the front. drinks made super quick, took like 2 minutes on a sunday at 1pm. many of the seats were occupied, but it wasn't packed. noise inside was pretty quiet, not too echoy or loud banana pudding matcha einspanner (6/10): matcha was quite strong, but was well-balanced w the creaminess of the banana pudding. the pudding itself had a more clumpy? lumpy? texture and didn't have good flavor. the crumbs on top were softer and not as dry (like nilla wafers), so it got mushy when it got mixed into the drink. not my favorite matcha in the city, but i would get one if i needed something nearby (and tadaima was closed). read more
