I walked by this drink shop on Broadway and looked inside and the menu seemed pretty good. The prices were pretty good. Prices start around $6. I ordered the Dragon fruit Snow. It has a good texture was good, natural, and smooth. Feels refreshing as I drink it. The decor is nice and chill feeling.
Very nice bubble tea shop. Prices are very reasonable and you can vary your sugar, which I love. Service was friendly and fast. The bobas were chewy and firm. The tea was good.

Have always loved this place, but was in Chinatown this past week and had to revisit after getting dim sum with the fam. My go to is always the iced matcha latte with puff cream, no toppings. Also I usually do 50% sweetness because the puff cream is pretty sweet. Drinks are usually $6 each ish. Pros: - really delicious drink, love the puff cream since it's kind of unique compared to other boba places - quick service - has seating inside - I feel like the pricing is fair - Close to a lot of dim sum places - Casual vibes, you can sit and study/chat Cons: - parking can be tricky in this part of SF.
Great boba!! Conveniently located near great food spots in Chinatown too. A lot of seating and interesting decorations, this is a good rest spot after a good meal in Chinatown.
We were craving boba drinks when we were in the city and came across this great place. Found on Yelp of course! Delicious tarot bobas, affordably priced, and you can get them in either soy or oat milk instead of regular milk which is wonderful.
Decided to finally try out Tancca after walking past it several times and did not regret it! Service was friendly and fast, there tends to be less people in this area compared to the rest of Chinatown. This is what my friend and I ordered: (8/10) White peach milk tea w/ puff cream, 30% sugar, large iced - definitely has the peach tea flavor, a large helping of puff cream on the side of the cup and on top of the drink. (7/10) Osmanthus oolong milk tea w/ boba, regular sugar, large iced - both my friend and I prefer less sugar but he forgot to adjust sugar levels, so it was a bit too sweet. The floral tea is pretty good otherwise. Boba is just okay (wasn't the chewiest) and personally felt like too much boba. They have both plastic and bamboo(?) straws. Prices are reasonable, paid $6.50 for my drink. They also have a loyalty program. The inside is way more spacious than it looks on the outside and there are plenty of tables and outlets for those that want to work in a cafe. It's is really nicely decorated with art and stickers, and they also sell pins from small artists. I will come again next time to try some of the other drinks!
If you want a solid and affordable milk tea, I would recommend giving Tancca a try! The tea flavor isn't super strong, but for the price and overall taste, I would go again if I was near the area. We were pleasantly surprised by the boba, though (again adding to the overall solid experience). There is a lot of seating inside and we loved the interior. It's a great place to chat with a friend especially if you get some bakery items at the nearby bakery.
The snowy drinks + puff cream is my new addiction. Perfect balance of a lightly sweet + salty. Red bean is my favorite so far, but the mango is quite delicious, too.
One of my favorite boba places because it's cheaper than some of the other places in the area and the portions are bigger too! Service is good. Decor is minimal but cute. There's free wifi and quite a few tables if you want to sit, chat, chill, read, or work. Drinks are good and fresh, I like the consistency of the bubbles too.

Tancca feels like a hidden gem to me. There's plenty of seating, and they have an easily accessible bathroom... in Chinatown which is a big win so I've upgraded it from a 4 to a 5 star. I really wish they would add better ventilation or a big fan to their bathroom though. I've only ever gotten their passion fruit blended smoothie with boba. It's delightful and refreshing. Sorry I don't drink much tea due to the caffeine so I can't speak to the quality of their milk tea. They have a bunch of those big stainless steel tea things so it seems like they take tea pretty seriously.
Tancca has quickly risen the ranks to one of my go-to boba shops in the area with their absolutely scrumptious puff cream topping and low prices (boba under $5, in this economy?) If you've ever had the cream puff filling at Happy Lemon and dearly miss its fidi location (rip), grieve no more! I only wish for an option to purchase a larger size boba because I go through theirs in minutes, and I'm someone who tends to savor her drinks. The service is speedy despite this shop being a one, maybe two person operation. It never takes more than a couple minutes to get my drink, even when the staff has to help other customers. And they're happy to answer any questions about the different teas available, which is helpful for an amateurs like myself. I haven't gone wrong with the Assam milk tea yet. Inside the store is a surprising amount of seating. It looks smaller than it is, because the interior extends quite far back and offers several tables and chairs for customers to dine in. I've sat and sipped with a friend multiple times and they've never bothered us to leave. Overall, I would and do definitely come back. read more

Not a fan. Drinks were super watery. Hardly any service interaction. Price was okay though... but I wouldn't spend for a drink that isn't even good. Drinks on average $6 which is like a gold mine in the current boba economy. The drinks just weren't that good though. I got 50% sweetness (as that is my standard at most other boba spots) but it just tasted like straight water. Furthermore, it didn't even have an aromatic tea flavor, which is sometimes a byproduct of reduced sugar. The drink was just watery milk with pearls. Not worth, even my $6. With all that being said, i would consider giving it another try if I were in the area and try more sugar. read more

My husband and I recently tried Omomo in Irvine and their smoothie boba drink was so good! My husband was never a huge fan of boba but after trying Omomo, he researched to see if we had something similar in the Bay Area. To our surprise, Omomo oriented from Tancca in SF. Of course, we decided we had to try this place. When we got there, I went in to order the drinks. The closest thing to the smoothie we got at Omomo was the snowy drinks at Tancca. There were two workers and one customer inside. Nothing special about the decor and it was very quiet. Somehow, the worker still managed to mess up my order despite not being busy. I ordered one snowy mango with honey boba and one snowy strawberry with the agar boba. Since our toddler was in the car waiting with my husband, I did not even bother to say anything to the worker and just settled with both mangoes. The drinks were disgusting! It tasted like super sweet artificial mango syrup blended with ice cubes. Worst smoothie I ever had! Boba balls were hard too. Definitely not a fan of this place! It was a super hot day too but I still could not get myself to drink it. Ended up tossing it! Waste of money and time! read more

Lemon Yakult sooooo delicious, added boba to mine and love it. My usual go to place is Yi Fang which is delightful but I think this place might be my new fave. Cute space to sit, love all the plants. Also, soooo affordable, I'll definitely be back again. Tysm! read more
I came by after getting dimsum not too far away on a Sunday afternoon. It wasn't busy at all, and I was surprised by how much room was inside. Plenty of seating, with plants and art everywhere, and free wifi too - it seems like a great spot to grab boba and study! -Assam Milk Tea w/boba ($4.45, regular sweet, less ice): a classic black milk tea that's strong, creamy and not watered down. The boba was nice and chewy too and lightly sweetened. For the price, this is great solid boba and I'd love to come again when I'm in the area, maybe to take advantage of the great seating as a study space or just as a hangout area! Definitely come check it out if you live nearby or happen to be closeby :) read more
Are you a puff cream kinda person? Tancca has hands down THE best puff cream in the bay! The creamy, thick puff cream Tancca puts in their drinks (when ordered) will FIX your desires. I love either their Avocado snowy or classic milk tea with puff cream. I've never had a puff cream the way Tancca does theirs. Super generous servings too that every sip WILL have puff cream. Workers are always so informal and patient! They know what to recommend. The inside has tons of greenery - plants and good vibes everywhere. Parking is in chinatown so good luck. I'd recommend walking if in the area or look for local transportation. If not, totally worth the drive and parking struggle to me! read more
The drinks were good. I ordered the wrong drink. I thought there was tea in the ice milk but there wasn't. The server let me add a cup of tea for $1. It still wasn't as yummy as a regular milk tea drink, but my mistake. The mango smoothie was really good. There are tables in the back you can sit and enjoy your drinks. HAPPY DRINKING!! read more

A boba café with good sized menu and seating! The Assam Milk tea was okay. The tea itself was light in taste and the boba was at the perfect chew consistency. The café space is clean and modern. Nice for a break. They have wifi. Convenient for a rest stop if in Chinatown or North Beach. Between Stockton & Powell Streets on Broadway. I will have to return and try other boba drink flavors! A gem omg. TRULY. 3.95$ for a regular sized drink??? In sf???? Take my money!!! This shop is very aesthetically pleasing with neon lights, decals, plants, and verrryyyy spacious with a lot of tables. Service: 10/10. Our usual server is efficient, friendly, and easy to interact with. Drinks: Comes out quickly! Pretty cheap (omggg) for very high quality drinks! Royal Ceylon milk tea with puff cream - Tea flavor is strong but mellows out very nicely when mixed with puff cream. Regular sweetness is perfect as it balances out with the saltiness from puff cream. read more

Tancca is a cute and quirky boba shop in Chinatown with an exciting selection of drinks and toppings that I would love to come back to try! - Royal Ceylon Milk Tea w/ Puff Cream: Refreshing, delicious, and hard to portion because it's so good. The tea itself isn't super strong, and at 50% sweetness it wasn't very sweet either. The puff cream was surprisingly sweet and salty, reminiscent of both cream puff filling and butter simultaneously. As a sweet tooth, I'd love to try this drink another time with boba and take some time to mix the puff cream into the milk tea in order to incorporate that sweetness. Service was speedy, and the store is adorably decorated with fun wall art and neon light fixtures. Seating is plentiful and the store itself is spacious. I also loved the various rock concert tickets pasted on the wall -- there was definitely a theme going with the selection of throwbacks they were playing in the store. Definitely an insta-worthy spot that's also ambient, fun, and deserving of more hype. read more
What an unexpected surprise. While waiting in my car, illegally parked a half block from the police station, I was parched after drinking my last two ounces of bottled water. I walked to the end of the block and tried to get a drink from the popular corner store on Broadway and Powell but it was closed. Remembering that I'd stop at another drink place down the block (east) on Broadway, I walked into an unfamiliar looking store in a familiar location. I took a quick look at the menu and placed and paid for my order. While waiting, I couldn't help but admire how the place was decorated with green plants almost everywhere. I also noticed the refrigerator that was filled with a variety of stickers of all types. Great idea. I was surprised to see the small swirl of syrup on top, a nice visual and tasty surprise. I drank 2/3rds of it before my friend returned to my car. It hit the spot. Wish there were more descriptions about the menu items. If I'm in the neighborhood or happen to crave a cooling drink, I know where to go. read more
It's very hard to find a boba tea shop that has puff cream. When I saw this place had it, I knew I had to try it. Their puff cream is good and they have a lot of flavored black and green teas. The tea flavor isn't too strong but still good. Overall I was pretty impressed with this tea shop. Getting here: parking is hard to find (street parking) but the North Beach garage is nearby. read more

The most amazing service ever friendly cashier and low prices (3.95 for milk tea + 0.5 for boba!). We got the mango green tea and assam milk tea with boba pearls. The green tea is sweet and refreshing while the assam milk tea is rich & milky -- just how I like it. The pearls are very bouncy and have a classic tapioca taste. 5 stars for good taste, low price & kind cashier who gifted my friend and I wooden cats. I love this place!!!!
