A pretty standard boba place. I don't think I'd go out of my way to visit but we happened to be in the area so we grabbed a few drinks to go. You have to order from a tablet and unfortuntely the menu was a bit incomplete. We had to ask the worker to make some substitutions "outside the system". The oatmilk advertised in a flyer that was displayed in-store was not available for order in their POS system. This is one of those places you grab and go. Open later and has many menu items. However, boba drink is $8 and VERY tiny. Coffee mid (as expected) and the mochi donut was stale, sweet, and a bit dry. Service was nice, very quick took less than 5 minutes, and shop was bright and cute. Pretty much only boba open at 10pm, but unless you're gonna die without the drink, just skip. read more

This bubble tea shop is a lifesaver because it stays open really late. Even on weekdays they're open until 11 PM, and on weekends they go all the way until 2 AM--which is pretty rare for bubble tea spots in San Francisco. The flavor itself is pretty average (minus one star since nothing really surprised me), but they do offer a wide variety of drinks. Plus, everything is definitely Instagrammable. When I visited around 9 PM, the shop was surprisingly quiet. Service is quick and no-fuss, which I appreciate when I'm just popping in for a late-night fix. Since there isn't really seating, I'd say this spot is best for to-go. read more

Very cute, Hawaiian-themed place. I really like the drink selection here. They have horchata, ube, matcha, and sakura - all of which I love! There aren't many places that have sakura, so I had to try one of the Sakura collection drinks. I ordered the Sakura Crema Milk Tea w/ Honey Boba. I placed my order on the kiosk. They didn't have the option to change the sweetness level, so I asked the employee if they could make it less sweet. They said yes, with a little hesitation. I think they just added less sakura crema to make it less sweet. If I had known that, I wouldn't have asked for less sweet because I wanted to taste the sakura. I was so excited to try the sakura milk tea series but was sadly disappointed. When you arrive, you order via a kiosk and when I saw them making my drink, I was confused because the base looked nothing like tea, it was so dark it looked like coffee. When I tried it, it did not taste right at all, but they insisted it was tea. It did not help because the employees only seemed to speak Spanish. I asked if instead they could make the sakura matcha and I had to ask a few times because they wanted to charge me for both drinks. I asked for the matcha to be less sweet, but I don't think they understood that either. My friend who ordered a mango drink said there were toppings in her drink she never ordered. It was overall a poor experience and I messaged them on Instagram and they promised to remake the drinks complimentary if we came back but I have not heard back from them. read more

We love the boba tea here, but today we ordered online, got a text that our tea was being prepared, and confirmation from Lilikoi that the drink was ready. When we got to the location, it was clearly locked up and closed with no one working inside, the security cameras pointed at the door, and packages outside! They are clearly not open. Unfortunately they also provided no way to ask for a refund, so now I have to contest via my credit card to get the money back for a drink that was never made! It's ok to close just update your sales points and don't send confirmations that you're accepting orders and making drinks. read more

I stopped by on Halloween night, and it was a bit chaotic since only one person was working and the wait was long. Even so, the staff member handled the crowd well given the circumstances. I was happy they had Ube, and since I wasn't in a rush, I didn't mind the wait. We also tried a tropical boba, which was pretty tasty. Seating is very limited, so it's mostly a takeout spot--I would've appreciated some comfortable seating. I hadn't been here in over a year, and the menu looked different from what I remembered, so I was glad to have another option for Ube boba, which can be hard to find in the city. read more

I do not recommend this spot. Simply put, the boba here is not good. It tastes very inauthentic and is way too sweet. Adding to the disappointment, it's also expensive despite coming in a relatively small cup. Given the cost and the low quality, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere. There are so many other better boba spots in the Bay. In general, I don't really trust Marina boba spots. read more

Cute place with a fun menu of items. It didn't seem particularly special or "housemade" with many fresh fruits (they use syrups, purées, etc like many other drink places), but the flavor pairings are enjoyable. We got the lychee mojito and strawberry slushy (don't remember name) and they were both yummy. On the sweeter side! There was only one person working, so I am assuming it can take a little while if the place is busy. One of the only spots open for boba around 12:30am on a Friday (Sat). There are 3 ordering kiosks available, two in the front upon entering and one on the left side. I chose to "make my own drink" and did a honey oolong tea with POG base, 24oz and light ice. The drink came out to be around $8.50, which is lowkey steep considering there weren't even any toppings added. The only positive was how quickly the drink was ready, but after tasting it, I knew it was a 1 star. You can't taste any of the actual tea base and all of the additional flavors being advertised in the "POG" add-on literally don't exist. My friend also gave it a try and said drinking a cold water would be better. Even though it seems like these are their signature drinks, I would not recommend getting any of the fruit drinks. I was surprised the place is rated as high as it is, but it's probably because their milk based drinks are probably better. I hate to give such a low rating, but I think this actually might be the worse drink I've had from a boba spot. read more

I am normally a milk tea kind of girl but I can tell that their specialty lies elsewhere here based on all their smoothie options so I had the smaller sized matcha horchata. no option to select sugar level but the staff was nice to take my accommodations verbally. they should definitely make it an option on the kiosk as well. surprisingly not too sweet (my friend had the ube horchata full sweetness level and said the same, I did not personally taste it to confirm though) and it was lovely. I do wish there is more blended ice since it is described as a smoothie which usually is icier, my drink was definitely melted. Small shop a short drive from the presidio. We wanted a snack on our way to Lombard street. Small shop in a cool area. Parking is a bit of a challenge. Boba drinks are Hawaiian themed with passion fruit; mango; thai; tropical; and matcha variants of the classics. Milk tea; slushies; lemonade and refreshers. Crème Brûlée and Thai Tea Had a craving for boba and landed here. We went kinda later into the evening on a weekday. The creme brûlée was crazy sweet and if that's what you're looking for, this is definitely for you. Thai tea was also solid, wasn't super creamy but definitely had the flavor profile. UPDATE: They have reached out to us regarding their service and we have talked about further improvements. I went here on a Friday night with a friend. It was not that filled on a weekday night from both the customer and worker's perspective. There was a bar-like area with several seats that we were able to sit at after ordering. The way the mochi donuts were sitting on the counter at the end of the day should have signaled to us how fresh certain items would be. We ordered a Salmon Poke Bowl, Classic Milk Tea, and Thai Milk Tea. The poke bowl was on the smaller size, but worth it for its price. The salmon poke bowl was not bad, but the salmon was not as fresh as we hoped. Both milk teas had solid & chewy bobas, which is the exact opposite texture from what had hoped. I am unsure why we received hard bobas, but it was not what we wanted in a place with nice neon light decorations and an originally cosy late night spot. read more

One of the only spots in the city that can satisfy your late night boba cravings. And for confirmation -- yes, they actually do close at 2 AM on Fridays and Saturdays. We ordered the House Milk Tea and Sakura Crema Milk Tea. There wasn't much emphasis on the tea as we had hoped for and the majority of our drink was milk. Reasonable starting price if you decide to customize your own drink but it can quickly add up once you add the syrups, toppings, or upgrade your drink to a large. They also sell mochi donuts and poke which looked good. Maybe next time! I liked the Hawaiian-themed decor they had around the store. Orders made from kiosk/tablet. It's located by bars so traffic is usually heavy and can get pretty difficult to find parking. Overall decent place but definitely need to try their other drinks. read more

I'm sad about not liking this place. Especially since it opens late. I got strawberry matcha, but it taste nothing like strawberry and/or matcha. It tasted like straight up cinnamon. I had everyone in my group try it and they agreed tasted like cinnamon. I had to throw the whole thing away. I don't like cinnamon much. My kids got the house tea and Thai tea. There are metered parking spots, but you'd be lucky to find one open. I was happy to find one on an early Thursday evening a block away. I went to a nearby restaurant first, then around 8p got to Lilikoi with no one at the front which was fine since we needed some time to look at the menu, but it was a creepy feeling being the only ones there initially. The Lovebug Slush was refreshing and went really well with lychee, but the strawberry mochi donut was such a waste of money. It tasted and felt like it had been left out for at least two or three days. Definitely not fresh. I do wonder how their poke is. read more

You self-order on a touch screen kiosk. Service was pretty fast and got my drink in a few minutes. I got the strawberry horchata, and it was good but definitely on the sweeter side. First time trying this place and I was soo happy they had an Ube drink! The ube drink was super good with little Ube chunks that came with it. You order using the kiosk and my didn't was done in less than 3 minutes! Super fast! The only downside is for sugar adjustments, they have 75% and 100%. I wish they had 50% or 25% as well! read more

My sister and I were greeted upon entering and then one of their staff explained how their ordering process works, which I appreciated. That's because the Twisted Café REALLY is a café. It's open every single day from 7AM - 10PM serving breakfast bagel and croissant sandwiches, breakfast toasts, bowls, pastries, smoothies, specialty sandwiches, teas and coffees. There are racks of potato chips and the like, refrigerated cases with soda, juices, beer, energy drinks, and a few grocery items. There are a few tables and chairs inside and a few outside in the courtyard next to the Infinity hotel. We were two of a dozen relatives staying at Infinity, all in town for a wedding. Our group made quite a few trips into the Twisted Café for snacks , drinks, breakfast, sandwiches, etc. The day of the wedding, we didn't want a big lunch, so my wife and I split a Veggie Delight Sandwich ($14) with Hummus, avocado, provolone cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, everything bagel seeds, tomatoes, and arugula on toasted ciabatta bread. It was really loaded up thick with all of those goodies and was an excellent value for the price, quantity and quality. A bag of chips was $1.99 and a Cappuccino was $5. Pretty reasonable pricing as well. The service was excellent, from the cheerful gent at the morning counter to the smiling young lady at the afternoon counter. There is a big screen TV on their exterior wall facing the courtyard, and we saw a group of soccer fans watching the World Cup! That seemed very appropriate given the "community vibes" we felt at the Twisted Café.

Despite its size, it offers comfortable seating inside and out. Sitting inside, which is what I opted for, I could see the busy foot and car traffic pass by on Lombard Street. They offer a variety of breakfast options, and their Avocado Toast looked inviting, but I stayed with a cup of drip coffee. There was only one person behind the counter, and she welcomed me as soon as I walked in and took my order. The coffee was strong and flavorful, not too watery. I took my time sipping it while looking around the cafe from my seat. If I visit again, I would love to try their Avocado Toast and another hot cup of coffee here.

I'm a big espresso tonic fan, so my expectations were high and this one did not disappoint. It had a bright citrus flavor, was perfectly balanced, and wasn't overly sweet. The pastries are all flaky and crispy, and you can tell they were crafted by a true craftsman. I think what makes Juniper so special is the selection of unique flavors they have. My favorite being their award-winning Cubano croissant, their black sesame kouign amann, and their choux pastries. I do want to call out how much I appreciate the amount of savory pastries they have since I don't always want a sweet treat the moment I wake up. To note, Juniper is typically busy, but I have never waited in line for more than 10 minutes, even on weekends. They also have a lot of tables for seating, but because of the flow of people, it might be difficult to find a spot. Stop by here if you're around the area! They are also a sister shop of Saint Frank, so you can get some coffee while you're here as well.
