Boba Guys' drinks are consistently good. They've mastered the perfect blend of flavors, texture, and presentation. They haven't brought back one of my favorite drinks, the seasonal Butternut Squash latte, so I usually get the Iced Hojicha Latte instead, which has a unique addition of kurumitsu syrup. It's the only boba shop in SF that adds this and it makes a huge difference. I also like the secret off-the-menu Founders Favorite, which is espresso, banana, milk, and ube. It looks so pretty. I looked on Yelp and found boba guys, I actually walked past it not realizing it was there. It has an indoor area with tables and it was fairly quiet for a Thursday afternoon. They were playing some music but it wasn't too distracting. They don't serve food just some pastries but they have plenty of options for drinks. The strawberry matcha latte has always been a classic favorite. I opted to try the seasonal Calvillo Matcha Latte, I didn't change the milk nor did I get boba. Their boba is good but I just didn't want to add the extra sugar and calories. My friend hooked me later and he got the black sugar hojicha latte which wasn't too sweet. I have been coming to this place almost every day for the past three years and I am writing this review because of one issue that I have repeatedly noticed and find very concerning. Over time, I have noticed a pattern regarding restroom access. I have observed that customers who appear to be White or Asian are allowed to use the restroom, while customers of other racial backgrounds are 99% of time told that the restroom is "out of order." I have personally witnessed this happen on multiple occasions, and it has made me uncomfortable and concerned about whether all customers are being treated equally. I understand that there may be legitimate reasons for a restroom to be unavailable at certain times. However, when I repeatedly see some customers being allowed to use it while others are told it is out of order, it raises serious concerns about fairness and equal treatment. I sincerely hope the manager or owner sees this review and takes the time to look into this matter. I have been a regular customer for three years and I am bringing this up because I would genuinely like to see the situation addressed. Everyone who comes into a business should be treated with the same level of respect and consideration regardless of their race or ethnicity. Stopped by for the first time the other day since I've heard about boba guys for a while. I liked how spacious and clean the interior was, it's definitely a place I would take my friends and family to. A lot of cafes and boba shops feel very restrictive with a "get in and get out" attitude, but this location feels very welcoming. I wasn't sure what I wanted, but luckily the manager Serena (?) was there to help me out. She was really patient with me and gave me recommendations to pick from. Boba Guys is the best in the game! I wish they'd expand to Sacramento, but this Bay Area chain has hands-down the best boba and drink selection. I've been to the Fillmore location a couple times now, and I've walked in and most recently ordered ahead. I like the order ahead option since there's a separate line for to-go orders, which helps with crowd control. There's seating inside, but it's somewhat limited. My favorite part about Boba Guys (besides their super cute and iconic aardvark branding) is their menu! The first time I came here, I enjoyed their mango sticky rice seasonal special. I literally dream about this drink and loved the texture from the black sticky rice, much to my own surprise! Most recently, I ordered the Caramel Matcha Latte (a returning fan favorite.) Love that they don't serve boba for first 30 min to ensure high quality, haven't seen that at other places (which makes you wonder if other places serve fresh boba when they first open!). Also love the chia seed topping option, when I'm not feeling like boba (or saving drink for later, I'm which case the chia seed will taste fine but boba won't last). One thing I didn't like was that the cashier did not ask me if I wanted toppings, milk alternative, sugar adjustments, ice adjustments or which size; so I ended up getting (default) small instead of large because it had slipped my mind when I was telling her all my adjustments.
