I'm rating this place based on their breakfast food. It was exactly what I expected and wanted. They were quick to seat and take our order. And the food was also quick and precise. I went on a sunday noon and it was completely packed. They are a small place that give a retro feel to it. And the ladies working it also give it a home-ish feel. I liked it! The omelets and pancakes were real good and i had no complaints. I guess the only slight dislike i had were the potatoes,as they were a bit burnt as you can see on the picture. This place has a ton of potential, but sadly strives for a hair or 2 under mediocre... Id recommend a to go order over a sit down! They do charge .25 to wrap something to go, but oh well. This place desperately needs a remodel!!! Like 20 years ago... The outside is a very old school red brick building, but dated and not in a nice way. The inside could use a remodel as well, you can see tables and chairs are very very worn in certain areas. Even the parking lot needs to be repaved! Badly. Well enough about how it looks! Onto the food and service. This place is seat yourselves, and they NEED to put up a sign that says that. I stood there several times looking silly waiting for a waitress. Service is quick and attentive. Out waitress came around several times and always did a great job in making sure that we were ok. Food is mediocre... With the effort that they put into it, I can make the same thing at home. We go out to eat because they put more care and effort into cooking than you do at home... The food isn't that bad, but it doesn't have a wow or special factor that you kind of expect from restaurants... This past time that we went, they forgot our toast, but we say how crazy busy out waitress was with a 12 top that came in. This always happens to us lol! Sandwiches are priced between five and nine dollars. Lunch specials are $9.95, and desserts are under six dollars. Typical diner food. Breakfast, hot and cold sandwiches, salads, and desserts. Always hits the spot! If you're hungry for a quick breakfast and do not require anything flashy, this is the place to go. The menu pricing is reasonably priced. Nothing really to rave about but also nothing alarmingly bad about the place. As you walk in you can sit anywhere you please. I've had plenty of breakfast menu options such as pancakes, Belgium waffles, eggs, bacon, and breakfast sandwiches. All orders have been good and made quickly. Maybe the only thing to watch out for is the coffee. It can be hit or miss (I think it depends on the time of day you order coffee). Good place to be in and out. read more

I gave this diner 2 chances but there will never be a third. The first time was a take out order which was screwed. I ordered, bought and paid for a breakfast platter to go, arrive at my destination, pull food out only to see my bacon was missing. Too bad I was crunched for time otherwise I would have went back to get it fixed. 2nd time months later I was taken here by someone for breakfast and I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich on a roll. This skimpy ass sandwich had the thinnest, tiniest piece of fried egg I've ever seen on a sandwich. It sat sadly in the middle and didn't even reach the edges of the big old kaiser roll it was on. To add insult to injury it was topped with cheese and 1 folded up piece of bacon. It was the sorriest breakfast sandwich I've ever seen in my life and I've had many. I only wish I would have taken a pic as evidence. There are multiple diners in the area with better quality and food. There is absolutely no need to come here. read more

I had the meatloaf platter for dinner with mashed potatoes & gravy, bread, creamed spinach and rice pudding included. Coffee was good and refills are prompt. The dinner is a generous portion and decent diner quality. For breakfast I had the corned beef hash with 2 eggs over easy, home fries, wheat toast, and coffee is included. The corned beef hash was mushy and lacked flavor. The hormel corned beef hash is better than this. The breakfast was $7.95. Decent place to go if you don't feel like cooking. This place is amazing! My stepfather took us to eat at this place for the first time 10 years ago, and until this day we still go at least one weekend per month. The food is delicious, priced reasonably, fast, and everyone will leave satisfied (kids and adults). Big plus is the atmosphere, people are very friendly and they treat you like part of their family. I Decided on pancakes & bacon & added two eggs. The pancakes were fluffy yet seriously lacked any flavor. They would be great if you're the type to drown them in syrup (Aunt Jimema provided). The bacon was rubbery like it had been half cooked & reheated. So after 2 bites of bacon, and 3 bites of pancakes, I gave up. Stopped in for breakfast with a co-worker on an early morning. We sat down at a booth which had been clean but not good enough. The waitress had to come over and clean again and while she did asked us if we wanted to look at menus. Yes we did. She actually cleaned off the menus before she gave them to us. I had the blueberry pancakes with a side of sausage and a coffee. The pancakes consisted of 3 small/medium sized pancakes with 2 fat sausage links. There was plenty of blueberries and the links were tasty. The coffee was good. A bit slow on the coffee refill. Aunt Jemimah syrup right out of the bottle. A bit surprising on the moderate sized portions for a diner. Usually most diners I've been to overwhelm you with food. Not this one. Service was good and friendly. Horrible service, I walked in one Saturday morning and it was so packed, and everyone who worked there looked at me and didn't even say a word, no assistance or anything. I don't know if it was because my skin is colored or what, but after standing there for about 15 minutes I got fed up and left. The manager walked passed me about 3 times and knew I wasn't being helped, yet he still didn't put any effort in having us being seated. Same with the other workers behind the counter who ignored my presence after looking at me like I had 3 heads. The food is alright I won't lie about that, but the service is horrible, and the place kinda stinks, literally. Definitely avoid this spot on friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings, Because of the tiny sitting area, it's super jammed packed. I think the people here might be racist .. Don't know. She remembers my daily order and has it in front of me ASAP so I'm not late for work. Her fast service with such a positive attitude in the morning helps me start my day. The service is great they are always attentive to customers the waitresses and waiter always walking around making sure you are ok. I walked into this place on a Wednesday in the morning with some time to spare before I had to head to class as I am a college student. I live nearby and it's on my way so I figured I'd give it a shot. Upon entering, there is no sign telling you to wait to be seated or anyone even at the door as a traditional diner or dining establishment should be. I just stood there kind of hoping someone would acknowledge me and maybe guide me somewhere to be seated. The whole counter was taken up so that wasn't an option. After standing there looking crazy for about 5 minutes, I had to flag down a waitress to ask her where I could sit. She seemed to be thrown off and just told me I could sit at an open booth there was. So I sat down and was in my seat for about another 5 minutes again without being acknowledged or even looked at by anyone. I then began to wonder how such service could be praised by so many on yelp. It sunk in that by the time I finally got acknowledged it ever, I would definitely then be running late for school, so I headed out, of course without anyone even noticing. You win some and you lose some, shame on them because they definitely lost a customer in me and I will not be back! Can't say I didn't try though. If anyone from the diner is reading this please understand how important service is!
