This place was Amazing. The service was as good as it gets and the prices are right. We started with the house made (right in front of us) guacamole and it was great, we all loved it. My wife got the ground beef taco salad, she loved it. My kid got the taco gringos, loved it. I got the Baja fish tacos that came with a side of rice and beans. Now it's a rare thing that the side dish outshines the main course, especially when the main course was fricken amazing but the were the best rice and beans I've ever had and I've had rice and beans from a lot of different restaurants. the host are rude and just flat out weird. i have a 1 year old and im also 8 months pregnant. and its visually OBVIOUS. i go up to the host stand to ask for a high chair for my 1 year old because we weren't even asked if we wanted one, oh and we weren't even given silverware. but anyway the rude host goes "they're literally right by your table under the TVs" and typically id just go get it myself because who cares but the way she said it so rudely i snapped back and go "well you get paid to retrieve me one, i don't" and she goes "that's not my job" EXCUSE ME??? i swear i've never had bad experiences in restaurants up until this week and 2 restaurants in the outer banks have made me say otherwise because wow. read more

I hate that I've used Yelp for years and never submitted a review. Unfortunately, it's not a great one. I love Plaza, eat it at home all the time. Came down for the weekend and was craving Mexican. Ordered the Empanadas and was so very disappointed. My husband decided to try and eat the crispy part (which wasn't crispy at all) but gave up. The chicken looks like Campbells Cream of Chicken. The meal was extremely salty, although the flavor was there and the portions were a good size. I tried some other dishes other people ordered, and all of it was very salty as well. If that's your jam, I would recommend coming here because the food still tasted good, but if you're worried about high blood pressure, I wouldn't recommend it read more

Really good Mexican food. The Queso Fundido came out sizzling! It was tasty, but could have used a bit more cheese to push it over the top. Shared a delicious steak and chicken burrito with my date. This was absolutely disgusting. My family and I ordered "curbside" here during our vacation to the Outer Banks, and after 17 (NO JOKE) tries to call, we decided to place the order online (call log attatched). We arrived 30 minutes later to find dozens of people who weren't wearing masks walking inside. Disgusted, we called them (it took severeal attempts to answer) and they reassured that they would bring our food to us outside. 25 MINUTES later, and calling to a busy signal again, I put my mask on and had to walk into the restaurant to find our food sitting on a table. No one was going to ever come out and bring it to us. We had to pick it up ourselves and brought it home to find that there must have been over 15 errors in our 8 meals. Do not reccomend. read more

Six stars, no TEN stars!!! Wife had taquitos rancheros and I had la flaka salad with grilled chicken. Both were fantastic. Their guacamole is the best. Margaritas are delicious. The best was the conversation with employees. They were fun. Waldo was the best. He was very professional and polite. When he realized we wanted to chat, he was so friendly and had great stories. Took my dad here for a treat. He loves the refried beans! Our server was great- I love when someone speaks in Spanish and English. It was more authentic that way:). I ordered a combo that included a Chile relleno and enchilada. I added a chicken quesadilla to take for lunch the next day. It was quite good, even reheated. My dad had steak fajitas with extra refried beans. Server was very accommodating about that request. My relleno was good, but enchilada was dry. My dad loved the beans and thought the steak was cut too thick in the fajitas. He didn't even take his leftovers. Overall, pretty good but nothing great. read more

Very cute restaurant , the atmosphere is great. Disappointed by their "birria taco" entree... came with a small cold cup of sauce instead of the usual warm cup of soup. Pricey for what you're getting and my boyfriend's tortillas weren't even in one piece. Not to mention their liquor license was suspended so we could not get any margaritas. The table side guacamole is so good. The fajitas for 2 is best bang for the buck. Lots of food and is delicious. The giant margaritas are always good. Also recommend the Baja fish tacos. This place has substandard mediocre Mexican food. My wife ordered the vegan enchiladas which came with some warm guacamole sauce which was nasty tasting. I ordered the two item combo with a chicken enchilada and shredded beef burrito. Neither meats were seasoned and tasted bland. The red sauce the out tasted like it came out of a can. The Mexican rice is a joke and has no flavor whatsoever. Save your money and find a real Mexican place. My dog wouldn't eat the garbage they served. read more

We love the Outer Banks during the off season but food can be hard to come by. And Tuesdays seem to be the hardest. We managed to find this place and grabbed some takeout which included bean dip, enchiladas suiza, and the burrito mexico with chicken. The service was great and the online ordering / curbside pickup was easy. The food was decent and met the fundamentals of mexican food but was not particularly authentic or carefully made. We entered our orders with customizations, paid online, and noted what kind of car we're driving.
