La Flaca Chopped Salad Chicken

Plaza Azteca never misses. Great portions of meat, rice, and beans, super fresh salsa, fast service, and always a fun atmosphere. The staff is friendly, the food is consistently amazing, and everything tastes fresh every time. Best Mexican in Bozeman!

I think I've found my new favorite Mexican restaurant. The service was excellent, and the food was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend the tableside guacamole, it's some of the best I've had in a long time. The place was very busy, so there may be about a 10 minute wait, but it's definitely worth it. Be sure to save room for dessert, the flan and tres leches cake are both delicious.

Happy hour drinks, not very busy for that time of day on a Tuesday. Filled by the time we left.. House marg was good. Decent martini. The ceviche was off the hook. Get it when it is on the chalkboard. Love the entrance that looks like a food truck , with a nice patio effect. Inside is classic mexi, nice murals. Not very many traditional Mexican in Bozeman so this spot is special Find!

This was my second time coming here and I was a little worried that it couldn't hold up to the high expectations that was set the last time we were here. My worries were shortly put to rest as soon as the lady came over and handmade a fabulous bowl of guacamole. There were 6 in our party this time but our server never missed a thing The margarita flight didn't disappoint, the beers were cold. And the chimichangas texanas was excellent and big enough for my wife and I to share. My wife proclaimed that this is the best Mexican food restaurant in Montana, and I would have to agree. We sat inside the restaurant instead of the patio area and you still had the feeling of being in a Mexico cantina

My husband and I came here for lunch on Valentine's Day. I liked the outdoor atmosphere of the restaurant, and how the bar shelving looked like stacked creates. My husband got a beef and chicken burrito with beans and rice. It was ok. The beens were a bit salty and over seasoned. I got the Oaxaca Bow with Birria. I expected the plantain to be more like chips instead of chunks. But everything was really good together. I would definitely order it again.

The server was nice but no one else smiled or said much. The food was subpar. Very disappointing.

Great ambiance, awesome service and amazing food. We had a craving for good Mexican food and Plaza Azteca delivered. The Loaded Chile Relleno was just that....loaded! It came piled with an impressive amount of steak and the cheese sauce was exploding with flavor. Yum!!! My husband had the Tiger Shrimp Tacos which he said were also very good. I didn't try them though because I was too busy devouring my dish. Wish we lived in the area because we would definitely be regulars.

Came here today for lunch thinking it was going to be the same Mexican restaurant that was in this location. I'm so happy it's changed! The food was fantastic and the portions are large with reasonable prices! Hard combo to find in bozangelous. I tried the birra tacos because the server recommended. She did not steer us wrong. They were amazing! A little heavy so would recommend sharing and ordering something lighter or save some for later! So happy to have this place!

Everything about this restaurant is amazing! They prepare guacamole, tableside... Entertaining and delicious! We had a burrito, deluxe, steak, fajitas, and Birria tacos- all were wonderful! Service was impeccable - highly recommend. We'll definitely be repeat customers!

My partner and I are visiting from MN and this is some of the best Mexican food we've had in a whileee! So fresh, great flavors, fun drinks and so many options--everything tasted so good. The service was amazing, food was so fast, and the inside was decorated very cute! Highly highly recommend. Everybody working there was great, they deserve all the praise!

However, the most appealing one had strawberries in it, and they were out of them. They were also out of the tacos, which was a little surprising since we got there an hour after they opened. We ended up having the nachos and the oysters. The oysters were good. The nachos were OK. The drinks were also very underwhelming. My son had a Paloma and I have tasted way way better. Service was good. Everyone was friendly and answered all of our questions. We were immediately greeted and sat at the bar. We ordered an old fashion and Huckleberry Lemon Drop (recommend both). Honestly, I don't think it matters what you order...it's going to be good. Let's talk about the customer service. A+ ladies and gents! We ended up having a great conversation with the bar back and other patrons which topped off the experience. I usually don't haunt hotel bars but I had a F&B credit and I read really good reviews about this place, so we decided to come in and check it out. We sat at the bar and that was a great idea. The bartender was friendly and made us laugh a lot. She was also very good at her job and made us some excellent cocktails. We ordered from the cocktail menu, but she was ready to make whatever you wanted, except for a Captain and Mountain Dew because unfortunately they don't have Mountain Dew at the hotel. And don't worry, it wasn't me ordering that. Not that I'd shame anyone for their cocktail choices but the gentleman and lady next to us had some interesting combinations they wanted to order. We also ordered the carrot cake pops. Man those were good too. We contemplated coming in the next day for some more. We liked them that much. The ambiance of this rooftop bar is also fantastic. It's large and decorated really well but the piece de resistance was the outside and the views of Downtown Bozeman. The cozy fire pits and comfy seating were very appealing. I only wish we didn't stroll in from our hotel room and wore more clothes so we could have sat out there the whole time. Oh well, there's always next time.

I hate to compare but it's crazy how different two places can be in the same hotel. The service here was abysmal. We came at the end of someone's set and it wasn't that crowded in the bar but almost every single table was dirty, with empty glasses on them. There seemed to be one bartender and another person helping. That person literally just stood there talking to people instead of cleaning up the tables. The bartender was pretty rude too and didn't seem to be into working here at all. The only clean table was by the door and it kept getting opened while the next band set up so we just moved to a table with dirty glassware on it. The drinks were pretty lackluster (especially compared to the awesome ones upstairs). I don't think it was that the menu was inferior to the other, I just think the bartender didn't care. Both my drinks were watered down and icy. Pretty sad for the price to be honest. It got pretty crowded for the second set being played so we decided to leave to let other people sit. She made it feel like we were regulars and I loved that. And the cocktails? Superb. Absolutely incredible, every single one of them. And that coconut lime rickey? To start, we waited on a Wednesday night for a couple minutes to be sat in a nearly empty restaurant. We ended up sitting at the bar (hoping the service would be best with an attentive bar tender), and began evaluating the menu. This dinner was a business meal with a client. My client ordered the chicken, and I had settled on the steak tartare. I was anticipating to purchase a bottle of wine and located exactly the wine that would pair amazingly, it was a gamay from the Willamette Valley. The waiter told me as I ordered that the steak tartare was small and would be a poor meal choice. After taking his advice, I still desired the gamay and settle for the Rabbit Roulade dish. The server then informed me that he believed that dish was sold out. He returned to tell me that the kitchen was out of that dish, and they had been for some time. Now I was left searching the menu struggling to find an option. I landed on the sweet potato gnocchi. I ordered the Gamay, and the server seemed to have no idea what that wine was. I handed them the menu and pointed it out. The server and bartender stepped away for a couple minutes as they stood at the end of the bar frantically looking in the wine cabinet. They returned to tell me they were also out of the wine I ordered. They then tried to sell me some other wines, but I decided I would rather just do cocktails since that was the only gamay on the menu and there were no burgundy/Beaujolais options. The food came out, and thankfully it was good and had great flavor. This was the only redeeming quality. I immediately asked for an order of cornbread since the sauce was good and demanded a bread to properly clean the plate. I slowed down my eating to enjoy the meal but also to allow the cornbread to come out. It took 25-30min before the server came back, and when I asked about it they went to check. They returned to inform me that the kitchen had made a cornbread but it didn't turn out good, so they were "re-firing" another. At about 40 minutes after the order the cornbread had arrived. My client had finished his meal, an I had finished all but a pool of sauce on my plate. Sadly, due to the time my plate sat idle and the sauce cooled, the sauce separated and split into a mix of butter and oil. This rendered the delivered bread useless for the intended reason for the order. The cornbread tasted okay, but with my meal or within twenty minutes would have been much better. The server and bartender did not check on us besides the aforementioned encounters. Again, the food was good. Based on the times and my own experience as a server, the cornbread I believe was never entered into the computer. The times did not match up for how fast the supposed second order came out in a restaurant with five other patrons in it. Between being out of food, out of wine, and the cornbread fiasco it was not a good business meal or look for an out of state visitor. I tried to be gracious, but again, from my experience as a server left me thinking a drink ($6 beer) or the cornbread may be waived given then totality of the circumstances.... Nothing happened. I was charged for all items and spent $101. I am a 25-30% tipper normally. Tonight I left $10... 10%. That was only because the food flavor was good, and the kitchen deserved that whole tip. If this was a date night, I would have not tipped at all. My 10% tip will be a 0% tip going forward for this establishment, as I will not return again. Order this food takeout, and hope they have what you want or move on. That's my opinion, because service is not good either. I found myself apologizing to my client, and that is an awful place to be. My client even commented, "I'm shocked you tipped and were that kind". When I explained the reason was for food quality he quipped, "yeah but that tip won't go to the kitchen like it should." That is not the conversation I want with a client after a business dinner!

I'll start with appetizers. We ordered oysters and a baguette. The oysters were good but I found the mignonette lacking flavor. There was nothing special about the baguette. We were given two options for compound butter and asked if we could try both. The sweeter of the two options was better and we were charged for the second. My husband and I both ordered ribeyes with chimichurri for our entrees. Both steaks were overcooked and not at all tender. We've had better at more affordable restaurants. I ordered the "Boss Nova" cocktail, the flavors were okay for the most part but it was severely watered down. My husband ordered the non-alcoholic "Cream Dream" and had the same response. The dessert was definitely the star of the show. We opted for the Banana Tarte Tatin and Kladdkaka. It was definitely the highlight of the entire meal. Food aside, the restaurant was a little noisy, which was to be expected. The part of the experience we primarily found lacking was the service. The pepitas with the pistachio butter and beets were excellent, and the burrata added a creamy touch. We also tried the frites and fondue.
