    Mojarra Empapelada

Cozy and cheerful small restaurant serving some surprisingly good food in generous portions at reasonable prices. A sign by the counter says Veracruz, reflecting their signature style of cooking. We had a steak and shrimp fajitas combo, which was sizzling fresh with high quality proteins. However the truly exceptional dish was the Mojarra Empapelada, a whole small tilapia fish lightly fried then grilled in foil like parchment, served on top of a mole-like slightly spicy salsa. It's a Veracruzano specialty, a very interesting presentation and genuinely delicious. This unexpectedly high level of cooking cost only $25.

The food was so bomb. Like I was hella full after eating this on an empty stomach. And the service was really good too! The girls working there are very kind and friendly. The vibe of the place was like homey and cultured. Loved it.

We came here before going out dancing! I was in the mood for Mexican food and saw the birria tacos on their Yelp and had to go. The inside is small and quaint and they also sell Mexican candy and jewelry. It's like a little shop by the cash register. The chips and salsa were good but they do not refill you chips. The salsa was pretty spicy but I liked the flavor and it was more on the picante side. I ordered the birria tacos and a side of rice. The place was super authentic but the rice was definitely a disappointment. It reminded me more of a fried Asian rice and did not have the seasoning Mexican flavor. The birria tacos however were phenomenal. The tortillas were thick and crumbly and the meat was so tender and shredded. The consome was also super delicious and it added the flavor I needed to the white rice. I would absolutely be back and am excited to try to carne asada tacos next time!

San Antonio says the birria tacos where fantastic

Coming from San Antonio, TX the birria tacos where spot on. The chicken tamal was fantastic and full of flavor. The sauce was a bit spicy for me but they put it on the side so it was perfect. Service was great. Enjoyed sitting outside in the patio area.

Excellent authentic Mexican food at a great price! Tostado was great too! Everyone liked their food! A margarita would make this a 5 star!

Absolutely love!! Server was sweet and nice. She was quick and friendly. The patio was very endearing. It has nice privacy and cute lights hanging. The food was quick and hot. The burrito was delicious and had a good portion. The birria tacos were tasty but not as filling. Still delicious though. Overall great experience and food! Would recommend! Also free chips and salsa!! Yum!

Authentic Mexican food, however you'll have to get your margaritas elsewhere because this place does not serve alcohol. The table chips and salsa were good, with two additional sauces to choose from if you want more heat. The traditional rice and beans were just ok, with the rice being a little dry and the beans being whole instead of refried. The salad that came with my meal didn't have any type of dressing, so that too was dry. I'm a big fan of Mexican food, but was a bit underwhelmed. I would have liked a little more flavor overall.

Coming from Texas I didn't not have high expectations for this restaurant. However, I was pleasantly surprised how good this place was. Almost all the patrons spoke Spanish and all the workers did. Food tasted authentic and they gave to sauce options if you wanted your meal kicked up. We played it too safe ordering the tacos, burritos and quesadilla. The meals that other people ordered looked amazing! Will have to come back and try them. Great addition to Bozeman!

Does Los Jarochos have margaritas and queso at their new location?

We Do not have a liquor license yet! But hoping for one in the future. We have our own homemade Chipo-Mayo salsa we have for our chips. We unfortunately do not have queso dip.

After reading the great reviews, I knew I had to try it anyways. The service was super fast and friendly in the drive thru and I was happily on my way back to the hotel with some delicious smelling food. All my fears faded away with the first bite. This might be some of the best Mexican food I have ever had. I had the steak fajitas burrito which was not only huge, but SO GOOD. Piping hot and everything was very fresh. Steak was cooked perfectly and it was very filling. We also got a few carne asada tacos and the Bozeman nachos. Everything tasted amazing and the flavors were great. Sometimes I worry if things are made quick, the flavor isn't there, but in this case, it was exquisite. I would've eaten here all week while we were in town. Twice was all we had time for but I will go back every time I am in the area.

This meal was intended only as sustenance, but it was surprisingly SO GOOD??? As a Southern Californian with tons of Mexican food options, we thought Albertano's in Bozeman was so AMAZING! We came back TWICE for night time munchies! The red enchilada sauce was soo good I loved that it drenched everything. The thick red enchilada sauce with the crispy taco was the best combo of crunch and gooey chile deliciousness. Combo #4 is the way. Their red salsa also had a decent kick, which was a pleasant surprise for a spice fiend! And their salsas were not watered down as I sometimes see. Very casual fast food, looks like a big mess, but I swear it's so delicious.

When we came in at around 4pm, there seemed to be plenty of tables available but after an hour, the place quickly filled up. Vibes/Service: Parking lot in the back and it seemed there was some street parking available as well. Many, many tables available with bar seating as well. It can certainly fit a larger group. Great service from our server. Checked on us often and filled up our waters. Food: Because it was our first meal here, we wanted to try out their staple dishes. -Bison Potstickers ($16): 5 pieces topped with mango and garlic chili sauce and served with some coleslaw. Rich and filling, paired well with the sauce. Would order this again! -Bison Patty Melt ($22): it was my first time eating Bison, the waiter suggested medium rare. It looked more red than I usually like but it actually was juicy and tasty-- I guess this is the difference between a regular beef patty. I'd also order this again. -Served with pepper parmesan fries which was so uniquely food. Fries were fresh. -Huckleberry Cream Ale ($8/pint) paired well with my meal.

Unfortunately, this visit was the complete opposite of what I expected. We were seated quickly on a Monday evening, and our server let us know she was new, which we completely understood since we both work in the service industry. Ordering was simple--my friend mentioned an apple allergy, and we each made straightforward requests. There was a slightly odd moment where the server said she couldn't ring in my friend's order a certain way because the kitchen would "make fun of her," but we brushed it off. Things really went downhill when the food arrived. Both meals were completely wrong. When the food was dropped off (by someone other than our server), there was a snarky comment referencing the apple allergy, which was uncomfortable. We sent the food back, expecting a quick fix--but it came out wrong again. And then a third time. At that point, we were honestly shocked. I've never had an order come out incorrectly three times in a row. Eventually, a manager brought the food out correctly, but there was no real apology for the repeated mistakes. Our server explained it was the kitchen's fault, but it was frustrating that no one double-checked the orders before bringing them out each time. The whole experience ended up taking over two hours, which felt excessive given how simple the order was. We also felt that, given the circumstances, some kind of comp or acknowledgment would have been appropriate, but nothing was offered. Overall, it was a really disappointing and honestly embarrassing experience--especially after talking the place up so much beforehand.
