Bright and fun, good food with a friendly staff. Every visit has been consistent with good food, nice margaritas and drinks, and a friendly staff. It's a good tex mex place for this southern girl!

Looking for some good Mexican food at a sit down restaurant in Bozeman and came across this Tex Mex place. This was just average and a bit bland. Not horrible. Fresh ingredients? Just not much flavor! I kept finding myself adding a bit of salt to my meal as well as the guacamole appetizer we ordered. It just felt like some flavor was missing. Chips came out warm and salsa was great! Service was good and it's a cute atmosphere. Definitely need to find a niche in the menu with some flavor in their dishes!

Emma was a great server! Very attentive and checked on us and our experience a few times during our dinning. Being a family that is very familiar with Merry Piglets in Jackson, WY the flavors took us back home. The building was not loud or echoing, we could hear each other speak without having to yell.

I love this place! We have been a few times! However last time we were there we had the best server! I believe their name was Rocky! You are in luck if they are your server! The margs are great! I recommend the strawberry one. The queso is great when mixed with salsa and is a large portion for the $ amount. Highly recommend the chicken enchiladas! Can't wait to go back! Also the inside atmosphere is really nice!

Classic Tex-Mex with a fun atmosphere, great location, plenty of parking. Service could be more consistent.

Food was mediocre, meat was grizzly and burritos were buried in too much sauce and flavors. Service was okay.

However, the most appealing one had strawberries in it, and they were out of them. They were also out of the tacos, which was a little surprising since we got there an hour after they opened. We ended up having the nachos and the oysters. The oysters were good. The nachos were OK. The drinks were also very underwhelming. My son had a Paloma and I have tasted way way better. Service was good. Everyone was friendly and answered all of our questions. We were immediately greeted and sat at the bar. We ordered an old fashion and Huckleberry Lemon Drop (recommend both). Honestly, I don't think it matters what you order...it's going to be good. Let's talk about the customer service. A+ ladies and gents! We ended up having a great conversation with the bar back and other patrons which topped off the experience. P.S. if you like deviled eggs, get them. They are delicious, especially if they still have the ones with the sausage. #drool

I hate to compare but it's crazy how different two places can be in the same hotel. The service here was abysmal. We came at the end of someone's set and it wasn't that crowded in the bar but almost every single table was dirty, with empty glasses on them. There seemed to be one bartender and another person helping. That person literally just stood there talking to people instead of cleaning up the tables. The bartender was pretty rude too and didn't seem to be into working here at all. The only clean table was by the door and it kept getting opened while the next band set up so we just moved to a table with dirty glassware on it. The drinks were pretty lackluster (especially compared to the awesome ones upstairs). I don't think it was that the menu was inferior to the other, I just think the bartender didn't care. Both my drinks were watered down and icy. Pretty sad for the price to be honest. It got pretty crowded for the second set being played so we decided to leave to let other people sit. I wasn't interested in having another icy sad drink.

To start, we waited on a Wednesday night for a couple minutes to be sat in a nearly empty restaurant. We ended up sitting at the bar (hoping the service would be best with an attentive bar tender), and began evaluating the menu. This dinner was a business meal with a client. My client ordered the chicken, and I had settled on the steak tartare. I was anticipating to purchase a bottle of wine and located exactly the wine that would pair amazingly, it was a gamay from the Willamette Valley. The waiter told me as I ordered that the steak tartare was small and would be a poor meal choice. After taking his advice, I still desired the gamay and settle for the Rabbit Roulade dish. The server then informed me that he believed that dish was sold out. He returned to tell me that the kitchen was out of that dish, and they had been for some time. Now I was left searching the menu struggling to find an option. I landed on the sweet potato gnocchi. I ordered the Gamay, and the server seemed to have no idea what that wine was. I handed them the menu and pointed it out. The server and bartender stepped away for a couple minutes as they stood at the end of the bar frantically looking in the wine cabinet. They returned to tell me they were also out of the wine I ordered. They then tried to sell me some other wines, but I decided I would rather just do cocktails since that was the only gamay on the menu and there were no burgundy/Beaujolais options. The food came out, and thankfully it was good and had great flavor. This was the only redeeming quality. I immediately asked for an order of cornbread since the sauce was good and demanded a bread to properly clean the plate. I slowed down my eating to enjoy the meal but also to allow the cornbread to come out. It took 25-30min before the server came back, and when I asked about it they went to check. They returned to inform me that the kitchen had made a cornbread but it didn't turn out good, so they were "re-firing" another. At about 40 minutes after the order the cornbread had arrived. My client had finished his meal, an I had finished all but a pool of sauce on my plate. Sadly, due to the time my plate sat idle and the sauce cooled, the sauce separated and split into a mix of butter and oil. This rendered the delivered bread useless for the intended reason for the order. The cornbread tasted okay, but with my meal or within twenty minutes would have been much better. The server and bartender did not check on us besides the aforementioned encounters. Again, the food was good. Based on the times and my own experience as a server, the cornbread I believe was never entered into the computer. The times did not match up for how fast the supposed second order came out in a restaurant with five other patrons in it. Between being out of food, out of wine, and the cornbread fiasco it was not a good business meal or look for an out of state visitor. I tried to be gracious, but again, from my experience as a server left me thinking a drink ($6 beer) or the cornbread may be waived given then totality of the circumstances.... Nothing happened. I was charged for all items and spent $101. I am a 25-30% tipper normally. Tonight I left $10... 10%. That was only because the food flavor was good, and the kitchen deserved that whole tip. If this was a date night, I would have not tipped at all. My 10% tip will be a 0% tip going forward for this establishment, as I will not return again. Order this food takeout, and hope they have what you want or move on. That's my opinion, because service is not good either. I found myself apologizing to my client, and that is an awful place to be. My client even commented, "I'm shocked you tipped and were that kind". When I explained the reason was for food quality he quipped, "yeah but that tip won't go to the kitchen like it should." That is not the conversation I want with a client after a business dinner!

The bartender was friendly and made us laugh a lot. She was also very good at her job and made us some excellent cocktails. We ordered from the cocktail menu, but she was ready to make whatever you wanted, except for a Captain and Mountain Dew because unfortunately they don't have Mountain Dew at the hotel. And don't worry, it wasn't me ordering that. Not that I'd shame anyone for their cocktail choices but the gentleman and lady next to us had some interesting combinations they wanted to order. We started with the beet and burrata salad, which was full of yummy complimenting flavors and fun textures. I think it could have done without the yellow peppers but I just ate around those. The pepitas with the pistachio butter and beets were excellent, and the burrata added a creamy touch. We also tried the frites and fondue. The fries were thick and browned how I like them, but the fondue wasn't my favorite and was a little too overpowering in flavor for my taste. The parmesan on top of the fries was a nice touch. For beverages I had a local pale ale from Bridger brewing that was crisp and went well with the meal, and my partner tried the rotations shrub (peach), which she said was just okay. The star of the show was the arrabiata pasta made with vodka sauce and Calabrian chilis. The pasta was cooked perfectly Al dente and was well sauced, truly delicious. The ambiance is nice, and the service was fine. They checked on us frequently but not entirely friendly, maybe our waitress was having a bad day. The meal was a little on the pricier side but I felt the happy hour prices were fair. We would return when visiting Bozeman.
