Coworker and I stumbled across Nina's today when looking for lunch. It's right across the street from our hotel and we like tacos so we gave it a shot. The bartender was our server- he turned out to be quite the tequila aficionado so we ordered a couple margaritas. Being from AZ, I'm a Mexican food fan, and there were quite a few tempting options on the menu, but at his suggestion, I tried Tommy's Tacos and they were delicious. Not sure why this place only has three stars, but our experience was certainly deserving of more than that. When I end up here again, I'll be looking forward to another visit to Nina's. read more

I really enjoyed the chips and guacamole. My favorite taco was the shrimp taco. However, I wasn't a really big fan of the sweet potato taco. It was good flavor just didn't care for it being sweet potato fries. I sat at the bar, our server was Eli he was extremely welcoming and friendly. read more

10/10!! The margarita was SO good. Chips were crispy and salty. The two types of salsa were delicious. One was a classic green salsa and the other was a roasted pepper/tomato creamy salsa. We got the nachos with carne asada and a shrimp burrito bowl. The shrimp burrito bowl was flavorful, filling, and had enough shrimp to actually be a meal. To start the service was mediocre, our waitress didn't take our order right away, we asked for no cilantro but of course our food came out with it. The rice and beans were cold but our plates were so hot you couldn't touch them. The enchiladas were smothered in what tasted like marinara sauce, horrible. Just in town from Chicago, heard good things about Nina's, so we decided to stop by for lunch. My family got the tacos and LOVED them. I went with the burrito bowl and the comp with Chipotle is a good one. The bowl concept is very similar-- 1) pick your rice, 2) pick your protein, and 3) pick your veggie / sauce combo. My bro-in-law got the bison, I got the pork and we both loved it. I went with the Nina's way (Cilantro rice, drunken beans, orange salsa, street corn, cotija). I love cilantro rice and street corn, but wasn't sold on the orange salsa. But it ended up having a very nice sweet flavor that really worked with everything else. I would call it an upscale Chipotle with better food and better flavors : ) read more

Me and my friend got the chicken enchiladas and carne asada tacos. Absolutely disgusting like we couldn't even get through two bites of both. Enchiladas tasted like they had marinara sauce on them, the rice had no flavor, beans were sour, carne asada tasted like it was expired/ had some weird taste and texture. Our food was top notch. We started with margaritas..you choose your tequila and type of margarita which is fun....they have so many! I chose a cucumber and jalapeño with el major. It was excellent. My husband had a classic margarita with the same tequila. Our tacos were very good. The restaurant allows you to choose two different tacos on your plate if you prefer. You can choose corn or flour tortillas. I liked my grilled flout tortillas. They were thin, yet held together very well. I had the shrimp tacos which had a spicy kick and the beef barbacoa, super savory , and hearty. Their rice is really good with some green herbs and vegetables mixed in. They also come with back beans. The guacamole to start was also super creamy and had great flavor. The chips stand up to the dip! Highly recommend. read more

We've been loyal patrons of Nina's since they opened, and after our experience today are sad to say it was probably our last time. We started by ordering drinks, a water and a Diet Coke, which took the overwhelmed bartender over 10 minutes to ask if we'd even like anything to drink. Almost half of the empty tables were still dirty, so sitting at the bar was our choice. We ordered chips, and an order of tacos each. We never received the chips and the drink my husband ordered (water) went empty before the food arrived. For tacos, it seemed a quite lengthy wait at over 30 minutes. They claimed to be very busy yet we observed 2 other servers with enough time to check their phones every few minutes and stand around with tables dirty during our entire length of stay. We witnessed the bartender fish something out of a margarita with his fingernail and then serve it. Questioning the open container law in MT as well, the bartender sold 2 margaritas as "to-go" in plastic cups. Sad day, used to be a go-to lunch spot for us. read more

The salsa (red, green, and beans) is not included and was really not something I'd pay for if I knew it was going to be so small and tasteless. I ordered the worst chicken enchiladas of all time and trust me when I say a hungry man XXL frozen enchiladas meal from the Walmart gets 5 stars compared to this place. If I could give a 0 I would... We got this for takeout. We're from New Mexico so we definitely know our tacos. I ordered the veggie taco plate and a side of corn while my husband ordered the al pastor tacos. Wow. Mind blowing letdown. Let's begin with the sides. The beans are somehow barbecue flavored? At a Mexican joint? Like they have ketchup added to them or something. Very strong tomato flavor. Additionally they're crusted over and dry like they've sat in a warmer all day. If I get sick I won't be surprised. The rice is just plain white rice and flavorless. I asked for no cilantro and yet there is a pile of cilantro on my rice. So fun! I was surprised by how crunchy and dry the rice also was. The tacos were the biggest offense ever given to Mexico. I got corn tortillas for what I assumed would be "seasonal roasted veggies". It's just oily bell peppers, onions, and *drumroll* ice berg lettuce. THAT'S IT. Not even any salsa, sour cream, cheese, or hot sauce! The veggies weren't even seasoned! The tacos only had one tortilla so they immediately broke when I picked them up. Not that I wanted to eat them once I saw the contents. My husbands al pastor had corn in it for some reason? And the spice was next to nothing. Like the veggies it was just oily and weird. We would not waste money here EVER again, Taco Bell does a better job for 1/12 the price. read more

Ate here with my girlfriend recently. Twenty one dollars seems like a lot for a carne asada burrito but I figured it would be really good. It was not, the large burrito was absolutely filled with cold stale rice and beans and a very small amount of barely passable carne asada. This is the worst burrito I have ever eaten. My girlfriends tacos were also cold and not at all good. The Margaritas were fine and I am sure the thirteen dollar guacamole is great! Place's decor is great. Very welcoming and really puts off that premodern, northern, Mexican vibe. They have a great selection of tequilas, probably the widest selection in Montana, but the thing I cannot get past is the price. The prices are jacked up, because it is Bozeman, but I think it might just be a little too much. The food was mediocre, way too over priced for the quality in my opinion. If you're looking for a fun night with your friends, this would be equivalent to going to fiesta-mexicana, price and food wise. Their house margarita was good along side their appetizers. One thing I always go by, if they charge for chips and salsa, it's a bust. I believe 3 stars fits the vibe for this place, I think 4 is gracious. read more

I am spoiled. I love the tacos I can get in Crows Landing, California at the little roadside place we love. Nina's almost gets me there. Street tacos. Fish. Burritos. Beef, Chicken, Pork. Tequila. Try some. The bartenders here are very friendly and can tell you all about them. I love their tacos.
