When I tell people "we're going out for Mexican" they have some odd reactions. Where did you say you were again? Or "I didn't know you were back from your trip." Jalisco is a bright, colorful, and cheery place. Service is friendly and effecent. I had a Cadillac margarita--these things are huge! The drink was sweet with an orange flavor, and I thought quite delicious, although I couldn't finish it because it was so huge! So, the restaurant gets three stars: one each for ambiance, service, and cocktails. Sadly, that's where the goodness ends. With the exception of the yummy salsa with marinated cabbage, which we loved, the meal was bland and sad. I had the chimichanga, which is supposed to be a crispy deep fried burrito. Well, not this one. I don't think it was deep fried at all as the tortilla had zero crunch. In fact, they topped it with a tasteless sauce and plopped so much sour cream and an avocado salsa on top, even if it had been fried, it didn't stand a chance of being crispy. The chicken inside was ok, and it had a little cheese. I only know this because I pulled the meat out of the soggy wrapper and ate it with the beans and lettuce. The beans were good! W had the shrimp tacos. Large portion with three soft tacos in flour tortillas. We could have split this meal and had enough bland food for us both. They looked pretty, but the shrimp, while tender, had no flavor. I think they boiled them. Why not grill or pan fry them? Get some color on them! Color is flavor! I don't like leaving poor reviews, but this restaurant seems to take advantage of the tourist crowd. If I lived here, I certainly wouldn't be back. Bottom line this is decent Mexican food but has opportunities to improve. Arrived on a Saturday at 1:00 and the restaurant was busy. A number of servers were running around and after 5 minutes or so we were sat. After 5 additional minutes we received chips and salsa which were good, not amazing. We also placed our drink order. 5-10 minutes pass and then our server comes to take our order. I ordered 2 cheese enchiladas and a single tamale. When the food came 10 minutes later our drinks arrived. Essentially service could have been better considering this was the last time we saw our server until I found him to pay the bill. The good: the enchiladas were the cheesiest and it was good cheese, however eat it well because you could choke on it which is a good problem. The bad: while the cheese was good the tamale was covered entirely in red sauce and cheese which drowned out any flavor the masa or beef had. So there can be some work there. Lastly it was a bit warm inside which doesn't make it comfortable. Overall it was decent, but I wouldn't make the trip to have it again. read more

This would be a fun spot to imbibe margaritas and beer. Come here for that. The food, definitely Americanized, is okay: decent enough to meet a craving. so there is that. The fajitas, lunch portion, had a good mix of beef, peppers and onions, although I didn't much like the overly sweet taste and I don't think it was caused by sweet onions. Perhaps my tastebuds have honed their aversion to sweet -- or at least things that visually I would expect to fall into the spicy spectrum. Either way, once I got beyond that, and added the pico to counter the sweet, they were good. It was a huge portion for a lunch menu and that was a nice surprise. The requisite pre-meal chips and salsa were as expected, but like nearly all places like this, it's easy to fill up on the chips before the meal arrives. The service is quite good, quick and friendly and absolutely worth a visit. It was obvious this spot is frequented by regulars, because nearly everyone who arrived after I did was greeted by name and was asked if they wanted the usual -- no menu needed. read more

Went for lunch today; we were greeted and seated immediately and brought chips and 2 types of salsa, which were great! We got steak fajitas and a chicken quesadilla which were both delicious. The spicy margarita is their best seller for a reason-it was huge and so so good!! We plan to come back again before going back to PA. read more

Whenever we're in town, this is my husband's and my favorite restaurant. We have never had a bad meal there. The staff is always welcoming and friendly. The food is always very hot, but not too spicy. The service is excellent, and we have never had to wait more than a few minutes for our meals. 5/5 rating. read more

It's always risky getting Mexican food this far from the border, but we heard the staff speaking Spanish, so we took a chance. The place is an artists dream - very colorful and so much to see. The taco meat was good, but so juicy that the bottom of the taco shells fell apart. Snd my taquitos were larger than expected (in AZ, they come more tightly wrapped and deep fried). We had such a great experience here - cute little downtown Mexican place with a full bar (big props for having one of my top 5 tequilas - Patron Silver). Chips were warm and the salsas were bomb - one of them was a very unique coleslaw-style salsa that I couldn't stop eating. We shared a fabulous chicken dish (pollo con crema) - Chicken breast in a cheesy creamy sauce with rice and beans and tortillas - SO good (no pic we devoured it fast). I want to convey one thing "Don't cheat customers", this message is because we got cheated by this restaurant. We had placed an order of Fiesta Fajita with other 5 dishes, where Fiesta Fajita does serve with Beef. though we follow one of our religion customs not to eat beef, we asked our waiter not to add beef and add extra chicken and Shrimp then he said okay. Our dish came with loaded beef then we reminded that we have asked not to add beef, immediately they took our dish back with sorry and said that gonna take some time because chef is making an another fresh dish. Though We respect service Jobs during Covid time, said we are still happy to wait, later i have got a super hot dish on Sizzling plate with regular portion of chicken and shrimp. we are almost done with that dish, then we found a piece of beef in our dish, then we realized that we have already ate the same old dish made of beef which have been taken out after we request. In my check that have charged us for extra chicken and Shrimp, then i have asked them you charged me extra for what i haven't get. Later i got my whole refunded and charged again with $5 lesser. I paid and came out, but am unable to take what have done to me. All these cause made me to spend some time to write a review. This restaurant ruined our belief, i am writing this review for everyone who would like to view reviews before checking in to restaurant in giving chance in making some wonderful moments of your life. We were promptly served ice water and a basket of chips with two kinds of salsa. Main courses had good sized portions for the price. Chicken enchiladas were delicious. The mole burrito was good, and the refried beans were the best I ever had. Kids' meals are available. Good service even though they were quite busy. I had lunch here yesterday and really enjoyed the atmosphere, service and food. They were at the top of their game with incredibly friendly service and had a great menu selection with lunch specials from 11 AM until 3 PM. My taco salad was served with what appeared to be freshly roasted and hand torn chicken breast and was really good. The complimentary fresh chips and salsa selections were also tasty. The restaurant seemed to be really CLEAN, right down to the men's restroom with beautiful hand-painted tile work and a colorful sink basin. I will be back. read more
