Came back here while I was visiting for a happy hour and wow what great deals! I got the lychee tini and it was sooooo good! Literally tastes like fresh lychee juice, 10/10. I paired it with a beautiful spicy tuna roll which was perfection. I also got the cauliflower wings - I wanted to love this but I found these to be extremely sweet. I think it could've used a bit of contrast with one of the sauces but texture was perfectly crunchy and sticky. I also got the chickn bao slider which was better. This was also coated with the same sweet sauce but the kimchi and fresh cilantro helped offset the sweetness a bit more with this dish. The restrained, rich umami of the miso truffle glaze paired with the buttery avocado is unlike anything I've ever tasted in the sushi arena. Planta planta planta!!!!! I travelled with a vegetarian this trip and found an amazing vegan restaurant to try out. While I can't quit meat, I do enjoy eating veggies. Planta delivered! Every dish we tried, I never once thought "I wish this had meat in it." My favorite things that we tried were the 1000 layer potato with "caviar" and spaghetti carbonara. We love Planta! The happy hour menu/prices cannot be beat and I would recommend everyone try them so you get the most variety and bang for your buck on the first trip! We got chickn fried mushrooms which even I loved as a mushroom hater. The vodka pizza was good although I would've wanted more cheese. The Nashville hot bao were AMAZING along with the spicy tuna roll. The spinach artichoke dip was great (although it did have a slight coconut flavor) and it was good leftover cold the next day too. The croquetas were good, slightly smoky and wonderfully crispy outside with soft centers. my friend and i ordered off their planta burger menu which was online. they let us sit at the bar despite us ordering online. the bartender was super nice, he was very attentive to our needs and checked in on us periodically. we got drinks because it was happy hour. these were both martinis. they were super delicious and despite their small size, i got tipsy off one. the planta burger was very delicious. i love the texture of the bun and the patty texture was exactly like meat. the seasoning for it was a little on the bland side and it was a little dry but those were pretty small details. my bun was also slightly burnt for some reason? i found this to be a decent meal, but i didn't think $15 for a vegan burger and fries was worth the price. read more

The changes to the udon noodles is quite disappointing. It once had a thick and creamy coconut sauce now it's water down and tasteless. And the entrée to be one of the most expensive on the menu it's just not worth it. Also, the changes to the once homemade ice cream is also disappointing. I've always heard great things about this place so I wanted to see what the how was about even though I'm not vegan/vegetarian. I came here on a Monday evening and it was pretty empty so we were seated pretty quickly and the service was good, the food came out pretty fast so no complaints there. Maybe I'm biased because I'm a meat-eater, but the food was just okay. The concept of making tuna nigiri out of watermelon was cool, but as a real sushi fan I wasn't blown away by it. I also got the burger and that was also okay, nothing necessarily wrong with it but it just felt like something I could throw together at home with store bought buns and a frozen veggie patty. I knew about Planta from NYC so hitting it up in South Beach was a no-brainer. I love the open space of this location, with its high ceilings and wall of windows. All you can eat Vegan Sushi Night! We attended a "Meetup" Vegan dining experience at Planta for their "All You Can Eat Vegan Sushi Night" (Mondays). $27 plus tax and gratuity. This was a wonderful experience. We have been to Planta before but never for this sushi special. The sushi was amazing, so creatively presented, delicious, and best of all... vegan! The service was amazing. Jasmine and Angelica offered the most amazing service. They were so efficient and helpful in making good sushi choices for us. The only negative I have is parking. Valet is $25 and self parking is hard to find (pay by plate). We were very lucky to find a spot on the street, right by the entrance. This will definitely be a "go-back" for us. Came here before a play on Saturday night. Beautiful location with gorgeous open space at the restaurant. I had reviewed the menu and done some pretty extensive research on what I wanted to order. I am obsessed with trying out new restaurants and planta has been on my list for a minute (NYC one). We ordered the brócoli , tartare, spicy tuna, croquettes, oven baked mushrooms, and tequila drink. We ate here Sunday night for my friend's birthday. Be sure to get a reservation because, even on a Sunday, it was rather busy. We did have a reservation, but even then we had to wait a for moments for our table/server to be ready. Casey was our server and he was absolutely phenomenal! We decided to go for "family style" tapas, and ordered several appetizer/meal dishes off the menu: Bang Bang Broccoli, Croquetas, Chicken Fried Mushrooms in Chili sauce, spaghetti alla carbonara, spicy tuna rolls and lettuce wraps were the most notable and favored dishes. For dessert we got the cookie and the brownie. Literally everything was delicious. As a non-vegan, I was really shocked at how they managed to make historically non-vegan dishes, vegan, while maintaining taste, flavor, and mouth feel. The croquetas, chicken fried mushrooms, bang bang broccoli, and carbonara were my favorites. I was completely full without feeling gross and not disappointed with any of the dishes. The vibe of the restaurant is chic but chill. The service was spectacular. And it won't break the bank (for Miami anyway) if you want to go here for a meal. I ate at this restaurant tonight with my co-workers and while the ambiance was stunning, our servers were nice, and we seated right away the food was sub par at best. We ordered a selection of things from the - spicy lumaconi, the spicy tuna hand roll, the dragon roll, the tofu bao, the oyster mushrooms, and the spaghetti carbonara. The chic ambiance and attentive service added to the experience and overall it was truly 5 stars. We decided to pay Planta a long overdue visit after a beach day this past weekend. We were craving something different and refreshing and thought Planta would be the perfect fit for this. Here's what we ordered + with a review of each: To Start: - Eggplant nigiri: This was probably the overall favorite bite, it was so good we got a total of 4 ordered. It was giving foie gras + eel having a baby. So well made. - Torched and pressed: a staple at PLANTA in my opinion. The miso glaze is really everything in this order, serves as such a complimenting flavor in my opinion. - Spinach shiitake dumplings: I didn't expect to love this one as much as I did but WOW! The black bean, chilli ginger vinaigrette is to die for. - Brussel sprouts: You just can't go wrong with an asian take on brussels, am I right?! Entre: - Udon Noodles: These were made with so much love, I know it! The sauce was a night creamy white sauce, the noodles were perfectly cooked, and the truly + mushroom mix was lovely. I could have one of these to myself honestly. Dessert: - Cookie + Ice cream: Good, but my disclaimer will be that if you're not vegan, it just doesn't hit the same as a warm chocolate chip cookie + ice cream would originally hit. We were a group of 7 who came here since we had a vegan & vegetarian in the group. I really didn't expect to like the food as much as I did! I highly recommend the crispy rice and spicy tuna roll. You can't even tell that the "tuna" is watermelon. The Lych Please was tasty and the perfect amount of sweetness. Unfortunately, that was the only good part of our time here. The service left so much to be desired. The woman bartender seemed very upset that we decided to sit at the bar and it was almost like we were annoying her by just existing. The manager came by and moved us all to a booth and assured us he would make our experience pleasant and comfortable. Well, we were seated and essentially forgotten about. First a disclosure: 1) I follow a strictly gluten free diet 2) I am decidedly NOT vegan. That said, I found PLANTA's food to be fantastic. I ordered the Chorizo Pizza with Gluten Free crust and it was a hit. The vegan chorizo did not leave me wanting. I just couldn't stop eating it. Despite asking to take the spice levels down and asking for GF crust, I did not feel like I was "missing out" for these substitutions. On the contrary, the GF crust was probably one of the best I've ever had. It was flexible, pillowy, tasty, and in no way grainy. $3 bucks extra? No problem! I also had a delicious Lych, Please! cocktail with dinner. The bartenders were super nice and even let me try a sample to make sure it's what I'd want. Whenever I get a cocktail, I want to try something I wouldn't easily be able to make at home, and I was definitely pleased. Ambiance-wise, it was fairly casual and easy to hold a long conversation. I've had a few great experiences at the fully vegan Planta. They're going for a higher end, more quality and refined recipe experience, so the prices are higher than what you might think of for vegan dishes. With the posh interior and well trained staff, it's more justifiable. There's some street parking nearby if you're lucky or valet. Somehow I prefer this location and menu over their sister restaurant Planta Queen in Coconut Grove, despite it being similar. This time I tried the Hawaiian pizza, which was really good. You don't even really taste the tempeh and that crust is so doughy, crispy perfect. I loved the sauce as well as the other flavors. I miss it already. The truffle udon noodles which I've had in the past were also well crafted. I think the newer experience of the pizza, which I don't eat much anymore due to a lactose thing, consumed my taste buds so that's all I could think about. Ended with the cookie dessert which I also had before which always tastes better that you think. Another great experience. My one minor gripe would be we had to ask for water refills a few times.
