I've been on a hunt for a new nail salon near home since the last places I've been to either gave me fungus or made me bleed (Owww!) and after running into a lady whose nails caught my eye, she informed me she went to this place. To my surprise I never knew there were places like this in Concord. Pretty much all the other nail salons around here are standard, but I was looking for more creative nail artistry and I didn't want to drive to Lady Bug Nails in Pittsburg (clearly ghetto clientele and they gave me fungus). I looked up PK Nails on yelp and read the reviews so I decided to give it a try. I made an appointment and was seen fairly quickly when I arrived and got a pink & white fill with a bow and diamonds put on. They were fast that's for sure and my nails were adorable afterwards. Reason I didn't give 5 stars is because my nails look a little thicker than normal. I will ask next time to make it look a little more natural. Super cool powder nail polish- yes, just like shellac, only powder nothing wet, never has to dry. A zillion colors. This shop is in an odd parking lot/strip center. A little uncomfortable atmosphere though. Several young, male family members hanging around... If you live RIGHT by it, go. I'ts not worth my drive though. read more

Great place. Was looking for a good place to get a pedi in short notice. Called in to get a quote on the price and the man who answered was very friendly. I asked if they accepted walk-ins and found that this place is 100% walk-in friendly. Got a pedi here for 20$, if you want French tips it's 25$, but they gave my cousin hers for 20$. The ladies were very friendly and efficient. If you're looking for a place to chit chat with the lady working on your nails, here's the place but they are kind and respect if you want to chit chat with who you came with or simply want to relax. I went there for Shellac color change. They destroyed my nails! The first color I chose she did the wrong base and then said this was the best she could do. She then removed the color and started all over. If you haven't had Shellac before, you have yo soak your nails in acetone then grind and scrape the old polish off. Super damaging. This shouldn't be done frequently. The next color wouldn't cover my nails either! Bad quality products? So now she had to remove the color again. This time burning me with the dremmel. Now my last color I chose did the same. No coverage so I gave up. My nails couldn't take another stripping of the color. To end my first and last trip to PK, she charged me for the bad work. Wow after of 3years of being a loyal customer I never felt disrespected in my entire life. Never once had I ever complained and been picky until I had a fungus on 6 of fingernails from manicures!! I did not ask for a refund or any legal action but instead I wanted to let the owner aware of what's going on. Guess what? Owners and employees are friendly. I have always heard great things about Peter and Kay (the owners). I decided to give this place a try because I work near it. They have a huge selection of glitter gels, which I loved! Also they shaped my stiletto nails really nicely (the point tips) I cant give this place more than 2 stars though because while I was there they passed my nails around to 3 different people (the 2 owners and one other employee worked on my nails), The filed my nails down really thin. The nails got messed up because the gel they put on them started bubbling while they were drying. They stared at my nails like they didnt know what was happening and just spoke to each other in their language. Completely ignored me when I asked what was wrong just talked and stared at my nails for 5 mimutes. They had to take off all the gel and then use a different gel, which is already chipping off and its only been 6 days.. Once the new gel dried on my nails I walked up to have my nails cleaned off with the solution theyre supposed to use and everyone ignored me. Finally the teenage daughter said "oh come here" and cleaned off my nails, which by the way took her more than 5 minutes because she wiped really slow and kept dropping tje cotton oit of her hand and talking. They also didnt put the gel all the way up to my cutical so they look like theyve been on for 3 weeks since theyve grown out (my nails grow really slow too from damage of fake nails). I really feel like my nails werent worth $45. Theyre probably going to fall off within the next week since they are already chipping. After checking 5 places in the area (including some very expensive and highly recommended ones) I came to the conclusion that I am a spoiled European and the level of the nail services (I only do natural nails) in the area are below my expectation.. However this place was the worst of all. After I was trying to explain what I want to the guy doing my nails, WHO SPOKE VERY LIMITED ENGLISH, another guy came (I guess he was Peter) and start YELLING at me that I don't know what I want. The nails look unfinished and the color was very badly done with lines, like done from a child, not from a professional. I calmly tried to ask them to fix the polish and he kept screaming at me that he doesn't know what I am talking about. I walked out while he was still screaming at me that I have to pay for manicure.. I asked: What manicure?.. I went to a friend to fix my nails.. I love this place to get my acrylic nails done. When I lived in Daly City I would come all the way out here just to get my nails done. Everyone does a good job, my go to is Kevin! I am a little OCD about the shape of my nails and the way Kevin shapes them is on point. Giving them one star is being generous. This used to be one of my favorite places but my friends recently went there and got a fungus infection from her acrylics. Can you say EWWW!? She spent $50 and had to get them taken off two days later. The nail technicians refused to give her a refund and told her that it was from the nail polish...that's right nail polish stain from ACRYLIC NAILS. Very un clean and disrespectful. They only take cash which sucks for me because I never carry cash on me so I had to run to the bank on the middle of my shellac manicure. I also was bounced around to 3 different people Besides that I LOVED IT. This salon was recommended by my hair stylist, and I was thrilled with the experience. Seven weeks ago, I had surgery on my left foot and am still dependent on crunches and/or a scooter. Although I have been told that I am kind and never rude with a good sense of humor, I am admittedly a perfectionist bordering obsessive/compulsive behavior. Not knowing any of the staff, I was assigned to Larry and I still can't believe my good fortune! Not only was he attentive and gentle, he seemed to intuitively know exactly what I wanted. In addition to giving me the best pedicure I have ever had, he repaired the nail on my right big toe that was split and greatly damaged after having dropped a heavy object on it with such artistry that it exactly matches the one in my left! One thing I am rarely satisfied with is the way my nails are polished. With Larry the result was absolute perfection! I believe great service should be acknowledged and rewarded. I had gel nails done at PK's. By the second week, my nails looked horrible. All the gel had fallen off. Definitively would not recommend.

I had been coming here for a while and really loved the work. It has been hard for me to find a good nail shop and I thought I finally found the one. Louie was doing my nails and his work was excellent. However the last couple times I went he started getting an attitude. He was short with me, and I sensed a total change in attitude. I have no idea why, I'm always friendly and I tip very well. The last time was it for me. He was rude, making exasperated sighs and grabbing my hands impatiently when doing my nails. He didn't even take the color off from before, he just went over it... so I had blue underneath and pink on top. Very sloppy. I pay too much for that to happen and to be treated like crap for no reason. He was speaking Vietnamese and then the other people working would look at me after he said something... I'm not paranoid but it was literally so clear he was saying shit about me right in front of me. It was a horrible experience. Not sure if he was bringing his personal life to work but there's no excuse. I will never go back. read more

so I've been going to PK nails for a while for acrylics, I've gotten pink and white multiple times and just a regular color too and they've never failed me. I have a lot of friends who recommend that place too. but one day I wanted my nails done again and I couldn't make it on a Saturday and PK isn't open on Sunday's and I didn't want to wait until Monday so I decided to go to Tip Toe nails instead for pink and white acrylic since they're open on Sunday's. they did a good job my only complaint for that place is their gel top coat bubbles a bit. additionally Tip Toe nails used a white extension instead of using acrylic gel to add the white tip. so that manicure lasted for about 3 weeks and after that I noticed lifting and grow out blah blah blah so today I went back to PK to get a fill, and first of all the price sign says a pink and white fill is $15 and they charged me $20+tip for no specified reason! also the lady asked if I wanted more white and I was like no just file them shorter and shes like really you should do more white, it's $30 but it lasts longer and I'm like no thanks I'm good. so she goes in and buffs off the original acrylic that was lifting and re glued the rest of it. I'm just disappointed bc you can see the left over of the original acrylic and the line on my nail from where the grow out was. she just used a clear acrylic on top so that's why you can see all the gunk underneath. I've never gotten a fill before but I'm assuming this isn't how it's supposed to look! on the bright side I do love the length shape and amount of white tip. and I've never actually ever written a review let alone a complaint, I just feel as if this definitely isn't how it's supposed to look. read more

They sat me down right away and started working on my nails. The man who did mine was a little distracted with the phone ringing so he was a little rough but other then that I, very happy with the results. I will be going back. This is a hard review for me to write because I really like the people who work here!!! They were always very nice and do an exceptional job (with amazing designs)!!!!! However, they do not clean their tubs well (I've only ever seen them spray it down with water between uses) and it's completely unsanitary. Everyone getting a pedi clearly has fungus on their toenails and I started to get a fungus too, so after that I didn't return. IT IS TRANSFERABLE, yuck! They do need to a. clean with a sanitary spray, or b. place a bag in the tub for each use! Even put apple cider vinegar in their tubs cause it's helps exfoliate feet and kills all bacteria. The entire place actually looks unkempt which should have been my first clue. Also, I kept forgetting to get cash beforehand and I do not keep checks on me, so I had to go out of my way to make sure I had payment. You must make an appointment too unless you care to wait around for hours! I wrote this review in hopes they clean it up a little and perhaps update to a credit card feature as cash and checks are outdated. read more
