What a class act! I stopped in today for a frozen hot chocolate and one of the happy customers suggested beignets. OMG!!!! they were amazing!!! I have no pictures because I ate them in the car!! I saw this on TikTok so I figured why not come out(drove 45minutes) and try it. So today 30January2021 Saturday, my hubby and I I came out and just ordered all we wanted. I got the King Cake Latte with almond milk which was freaking awesome. I also got a hot chocolate with almond milk. My hubby got a latte with caramel. Food wise, I got a maple sausage ciabatta, Beignets, spinach and feta croissant, bacon egg cheese biscuit and last but not least the bacon and cheese egg bites. All this was absolutely really great, we got all this because I really wanted to get a feel for most of what's offered so that in the future I would know if the drive is worth it. But I can absolutely tell you all that the drive is worth it, the beignets were soooooo goooood!!!! Everything was hot and tasty. I actually got the spinach and feta croissant fresh from the oven and when I tell you it was good believe me lol. Anyway everyone should try this place. Support local businesses. read more

5 stars for the beignets which were delicious, hot and fresh. My 3 star review is for the coffee and service process. Only ordered a regular coffee. They handle adding cream and sugar. The results was sugary cold coffee which was more cream than coffee. Hope they correct this. Also the pickup area is awkward. Too many tables clustered make it impossible to get to the side they arranged for picking up. Yet there was an entire spacious counterspace area not being utilized. Im giving the feedback in hopes it will improve because we need this business to remain and thrive read more

I have had a variety of things from the menu from regular coffee to a specialty latte and loved everything. Since they're closer to me than Starbucks and have beignets that are delicious I will be returning more frequently. My kids love the hot chocolate as well. read more

I made a special trip to PJ's yesterday (during the ice storm ‍) and it was definitely worth it! I don't live near PJ's but kept seeing their posts on Facebook so decided to give it a try. The store is bright and clean and the staff was very friendly. I ordered a cafe au lait and the beignets. Let me tell you, the beignets are to die for! They were served hot and powdery and melted in my mouth. The cafe au lait was perfectly balanced with the hot milk and dark roast coffee. I will definitely be back to try their other drinks and food. I have been here many times and the customer service was great. I love the frozen caramel granita and freshly cooked beignets. The owner works alongside the staff frequently. There is limited outdoor seating due to covid if interested. read more

I've been wanting to try PJ's and I'm so happy that I did...actually I wish I hadn't waited so long (even though they just opened). What a great black owned establishment. Such a nice, cozy place. The staff were extremely friendly and the owners are AMAZING! They (husband and wife) took the time to explain the history of PJs and where coffee originated from. I felt like I had know them for awhile. I ordered the Mocha Velvet Ice and beignets. Absolutely delicious. The beignets were light and fluffy with the perfect balance of powered sugar. The Velvet Ice was flavored perfectly and wasn't too sweet. I love the option to add oat, almond or coconut milk. I cant wait to go back again. read more

Ok I'm going to rave about a local spot in Bowie/Mitchellvile area. Today, my teen and I had an extra 30 minutes waiting for the school bus at the Fairwood Safeway. We decided to check out PJ's Coffee. Our order consisted of iced coffee (teen), hot chocolate (me), cranberry orange muffin, egg/bacon/cheddar biscuit, chocolate croissant, and beignets. The drinks were good (I don't drink coffee); the hot chocolate was reminiscent of Starbucks version but even more "chocolatey". The pastries were Amazing!!! The biscuit was tender and delicious, the muffin was perfectly balanced tart/sweet and cranberry/orange flavor. The croissant was full of chocolate (hubby is a chocoholic - he LOVED it). The beignets. The BEIGNETS!!!! Oooohhh weeee! Get them. Great service as well. Please support these guys. Local folks who happened to open in the middle of the pandemic. read more

I'm so delighted to have a black owned and operated coffee shop in Bowie. The owners (Mike and Tyra) are friendly, knowledgeable and residents of Prince George's County. The shops decor, lighting, sound, customer service, coffee/tea options and those delicious Beignets brings the taste of New Orleans to us! To be new to the area and hire staff, whom appear to have been well trained and knowledgeable about the company and coffee (products) are very patient with customers as they decide on a drink and what treat to have with it....For me it was the Southern Wedding Cake cold creme and the Beignets!!!! The beignets are fantastic but the coffee drinks are underwhelming. They just taste weak and kind of thin. One of the reasons may be because they only put 1 1/2 shots of espresso in a medium latte. I've never seen that before. Everywhere else does 2 shots. I got a triple shot latte to see if it would help, but my latte was still meh. I usually prefer to patronize local coffee shots over Starbucks, but this time I think I'll stick with Starbucks. read more

I've been twice since they opened. I'm not a coffee connoisseur but I wanted to support. Coffee is wonderful and the spinach and cheese pastry was delicious. What was most impressive to me was the customer service. The place was staffed with teens and young adults that were serious about providing good service. I met the owner, she ensured my order was accurate and my expectations were met. We were able to chat and she shared her love for coffee, why she decided to open up a PJ's and how much it meant to provide a different coffee option in her community. I met the owners Mike and Tyra. Very nice couple. The coffee is so much better than any coffee I have tasted. The staff is patient as you decide what you would like to try and they offer suggestions. They have a variety of sandwiches that are tasty as well. You must try their beignets - delicious. The atmosphere is welcoming and they have WiFi if you just want to sit in as you sip on your coffee/tea and work on your electronic devices. I highly recommend this spot.
