Burnt pizza
Suzette F.

I ordered door dash and I was so excited to try the chicken crust pizza with pesto, salami, sun-dried tomato but I arrived burnt and the sun dried tomatoes were charcoal. I tried to eat it but there was $30 down the drain. So disappointed.

Pizza Man is located at 1306 East Colorado Boulevard Pasadena, California 91106. It is a short walk from the busy corner of Hill Avenue and Colorado Boulevard. Pasadena City College is also within walking distance. This area is a great place to enjoy California weather. This business location is easy to find walking or driving. When I walked in I was immediately hit with the aroma of flavorful food. This is a nice cozy pick up and carry business. After walking by some tables and chairs, I made my way to the counter. A staff member greeted me and requested my order. I was able to ask some questions about the types of food that they had available. They are known to have a great selection of pastas and sandwiches as well as their ever popular pizza and Chicken Wings. I decided to order a medium Meat Lovers Pizza and Chicken Wings with blue cheese dressing on the side. The first piece of pizza had great coverage of meat and cheese. The toppings had a great aroma as I unpacked each piece from the box. The crust was done to my instructions...a little crisp with a little crunch. I was impressed. Next I tried the chicken wings and was happy to see that they were plump and looked done right. Both the drumsticks and the flats had great flavor even without the dipping sauce. The chicken wings were moist and tender. I look forward to stopping back in to experience their sandwiches and salads. Parking is available on the side street. I'm happy that I can walk comfortably.

The amount spent for over cooked/Dry chicken and pizza that did not resemble any pics on their yelp or website

$200 on 3 "big man" pizzas (that did not look ANYTHING like their signature pizzas) and 28 pieces of chicken. Every single piece of chicken was OVER COOKED AND DRY. So much so the meat had shrunk and separated from the skin. No juice AT ALL. Individually we all figured "its probably just the piece i have" Until everyone we for seconds and realized it was the whole batch that was like this. Obviously by this point we are on pieces like 8-13 or so. Nearly half way through the chicken. We decided to give the establishment a call and see what if anything could be done considering the amount spent. The over all response was "Sometimes that happens" "What do you want us to do about it" And not in a tone of actually offering any type of help or resolution. Also these are the places asking for Tips on take out service lol when did that become a thing? Moral of the story. Dont order big here. If you order at all. We wont be anymore.

This "side salad " is $3.99. Don't order. It's horribly overpriced.

Pizza is fine. We like the variety of options for toppings for the pizzas. Just don't order a "side salad". The "side salad" is a loosely packed 8oz. container and is $3.99.

Large supreme pizza with extra mushrooms

Ordered a large supreme pizza with extra mushrooms today with regular crust. The pizza was pretty good. Crust is thinner than other pizza places I've been to but this is what I prefer. Marinara sauce was seasoned just right and not overly salty. Pizza hit the spot. I'm happy. Would definitely order from again.

2 extra large pizza

Absolutely the best spot for pizza near Pasadena City College and within walking distance of my house. Pizza Man has a variety of topping selections, which is great because my boyfriend has a rare allergy to pork. But at Pizza Man they have beef pepperoni for him to enjoy. We get a 2 extra large pizzas and array of sauces habanero mango, bourbon bbq, and marinara sauce are our favorites. The staff are always friendly, and huge supporters of women's sports! They advocate for more viewer engagement for women sports. The staff member at the time made a great point. How do we expect women athletes to be paid better if not equal to men. If we don't support them by watching their games. This definitely solidified my support for their business. The dinning space is nice and cozy but I have yet to dine in. The boyfriend and I tried looking to see if we have any pictures. But honestly we have none, we tend to just dig in as soon as we get home. That should speak volumes on how yummy their pizza is! But we do have a picture of our receipt of what we order.

The good: The people working at the counter were very friendly and welcoming. We took a while to order, and they were patient and courteous. They gave our kids free little light up chick toys that they absolutely loved and kept them entertained while we waited for our food! The bad: - The reason it took us so long to order was because they were seemingly out of half of their menu items. Everything we wanted to order was out of stock, so we settled on boneless chicken with fries and chicken gyoza - Something very important to note is that they primarily serve dark meat for the boneless chicken. Dark meat can have a pink/red color even when fully cooked. We had several pieces that looked so red that we didn't feel comfortable eating them because it just looked unappetizing how red it was and I didn't feel fully certain it was cooked because I don't carry around a food thermometer lol. But no one in our party got sick, so I assume it was cooked? I honestly don't know. -When we arrived, they were playing very loud, very explicit hip hop. I love hip hop myself and it would have been fine if our kids weren't with us, but with kids it was just kinda weird to be listening to very explicit lyrics at 10 AM lol. It wasn't just normal hip hop, it was like the extra explicit cut of some SoundCloud rapper. Eventually they changed it to very loud country music. Just weird vibes either way

On the screen it says "food takes 25-30min" I waited 50 min... There were at least 4 people waiting for their orders. Whenever one of us tried to talk to the server and as they were approaching, I could tell she was going to somewhere else like to the kitchen and intentionally tried not to give the eye contact with customers. The customer is next to you how can you not look at them...lol After almost an hour I got my food only to find that pickled radish was spoiled. Luckily I added an extra so it saved me. When I took out the container it was already full of gas and about to explode. When I opened it, smelled horrible like raw food left in the garbage disposal for weeks. (You can see how cloudy the juice is from the picture) Over all, I understand that this location has the worst review among other bb.q chicken in SGV, I'd choose other place next time. Food was good so 3 stars for that.

The food at bb.q Pasadena is pretty consistent and if you're looking for that typical flavor of…read moreKorean fried chicken, you will get that here. I only ever order takeout from this location and there's definitely things that could be improved. The location is on busy Colorado so parking is a nightmare. The workers here have absolutely no sense of urgency. Often I've been the only customer picking up and the speed of service could only be described as "meandering" to find and hand me my order. As previously mentioned, there's no issue with the food. It's juicy and flavorful. But there's inconsistencies like sometimes I get the side radish and utensils but other times not at all. The attitude of the workers you interact with are that of someone who has absolutely no pride in their work and are simply tolerating customers. It would go a long way to improve this location if workers were trained to do everything as efficiently and quickly as possible. The cost is also astronomically high for chicken. A whole chicken is $31 before any taxes or fees. It's not competitive with other Korean fried chicken places and you have to imagine part of the cost is due to the location. I would be sad if this branch closed, since it is closest to where I live, but it wouldn't be a shock that it did close. There's a lot of low hanging easy changes that could be made. Better training from management, more local deals, and focusing on customer service.

It was actually insane, I would come back here just for the chicken, 10/10. The seafood pancake was also amazing. It was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. It had lots of shrimp and squid, and dipped in the sauce it was delicious, 10/10. I'd say both the corn cheese and tteokbokki were not super worth it. The tteokbokki was relatively small, given the price. And it was quite spicy, a little too spicy for me. The corn cheese tasted like butane gas, or how a birthday candle smells, so it was just alright. Both were a 5/10. I would definitely come back again to try more food!

It honestly broke my heart. The man who I assume was the owner always seemed to be running the place himself.
