This time around, I went with the turkey burger and fries (see photo) and it absolutely hit the spot. It was super fresh with toppings, and the fries here are consistent and really good. Flavor of the wings were good. Wings were a tad bit small, but not so bad where I would never come back. I also wished the curly fries were a little more crispy. The zucchini fries were really good, there wasn't too much batter. Anyway, they were busy, but we were seated pretty quick. When I arrived, the staff member told me there was an extra charge for the ranch, which was fine and I paid it. However, when I got home, my order was wrong -- I received fries instead of celery. When I mentioned it, the employee responded with a terrible attitude and only offered a credit for the cost of the ranch. Overall, the service was extremely disappointing. The hottest thing here was the waitress I had. The mild wings were just vinegar, the BBQ were watered down, the "spicy" wings didn't even have any spice, and I have no spice tolerance at all. The lemon pepper were over seasoned, and when I picked up one of any of them that had less sauce on them was honestly an improvement. I tried this place for the first time on a stroll through Old Town Pasadena. The menu looked good from the window. I ordered the chicken wings that came with celery and carrots. I ordered two different flavors. I wanted part mild and part hot with a side of blue cheese dressing, to go. I was shocked when I went to open that to go container, and saw that they did not separate the mild chicken from the hot spicy chicken. In any event, it spoiled the dinner, because some people don't like spicy chicken, and since it was placed together, the whole thing was spicy. This has never happened to me before. Restaurants separate the mild from the spicy, or other flavors are separated, either by separate containers, paper or foil or something. And the portion size for the bleu cheese dipping sauce, was too small for the size of the order. It was pretty disappointing to say the least. --------------------Update-------- After the response from the restaurant that says they mix flavors on to go orders, I can't recommend this place. Can you imagine, ordering BBQ and Lemon-Pepper, and they don't know they should separate flavors, unless you ask for separate containers? Pretty pathetic to say the least. I also had the 6 pc boneless mild ( buffalo sauce) which were good also. I also ordered the Hartford Grinder sandwich but not what I was expecting. It came with turkey, ham, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and Italian dressing. The Italian dressing was way over powering for the sandwich and made me feel like I was eating a salad. The service was awesome and our waitress did a great job! The restaurant has a lot of seating, lots of tv's showing different sports channels, and restaurant is very clean. They have a good selection of food on the menu to choose from. I wouldn't mind coming back to try something more. I happen to be in the area. The coffee was a nice. I had it black and was delighted it tasted really good - not bitter like most coffee would. It didn't need any cream or sugar. The service was also fast and friendly. I always enjoy coming to hot wings cafe -- the food is great and it's always wonderful time coming with friends. There's definitely a place to visit if you have a late night outing in old town Pasadena. I usually opt for lemon pepper wings and hot wings, but I opted for the nuggets instead this time. They weren't as good as their wings but they were still pretty tasty. Do you recommend getting their wings instead of the nuggets. The service was good, we were checked on a couple of times throughout our meal. We did visit the place around 12 AM, as they close at 1 AM on the weekend. We did feel a bit rushed just given the time we went which is pretty understandable. They will usually basketball or sports games on their TVs which I always enjoy watching. What's up: We just escaped from an escape room nearby and we were hungry for food! Parking: There are parking structures nearby that has the first 90 mins free. We used the Park & Walk Schoolhouse Garage accessible on Fair Oaks Ave and E Green Street. There's also metered street parking. Environment: It was one of those super hot days and we were so glad to walk in and feel the strong AC. We were seated immediately and given plenty of time to look over the menu. The waitress was super cool and helpful. She gave us tons of suggestions and got our food out quick. The place was well lit and restrooms are located towards the right of the counter, down the hall. What was ordered: - Party Platter Wings in Spicy BBQ, Hot BBQ, Lemon Pepper (they were all tasty and yummy) - Cheese Fries (our waitress suggested adding bacon and it was so much more yum) - Mozzarella Sticks (it was alright) Yay/Nay/Meh: Yay. Came here on a Saturday night expecting it to be packed considering it was 7 at night. This place is right on Colorado Blvd next to Barney's Beanery and another restaurant. We parked our car in a structure that it located on Arroyo Parkway. It was a nice walk and didn't take long to get there. I can see this place being packed when it came time to football and baseball season. They have five plasma TV's playing all the sports channels on each screen. They did have a decent selection of beer and cocktails to choose from if you are in the mood. Our server was named Karen B. and she was FABULOUS. She was extremely attentive when it came to our questions regarding the menu. She checked frequently to make sure we had everything we needed. We never had to flag her down to get something refilled or asking for the check. I can go on and on about her as her hard work did not go unnoticed. My fiance ordered the 10 pc mild boneless wings with carrots and celery. I ordered the picnic burger with curly fries and a pickle. Mozzarella sticks and extra side of fries. Mozzarella sticks came out fresh from the fryer and they were delicious. The outside had a nice crunch to them while the inside was ooey gooey and have a nice cheese pull. The side of marinara sauce was on the chunkier side of the spectrum but had deep bold flavors to them. Overall 10/10 for my mozz sticks. The boneless wings were great, not dry or overly saturated in sauce. (If you are into finger messy sauciness I suggest asking for extra sauce for your wings.) The mild sauce had great flavor and you can never mess up celery and carrots. The ranch sauce they provided for the celery and carrots tasted extremely similar to the ranch given at wingstop. My burger was a smashburger that was anything but dry. It still had the juices in the meat and had the right amount of seasoning on the patty itself, the bun was soft but held together long enough for me to savor every bite. I will say had I know the pickle was going to be on the side I probably wouldn't have asked for it because I prefer it to be on my burger not next to it. Curly fries were good, nicely seasoned with salt. I wish there was more to say about them, but they are called a side for a reason. Overall would I visit again YES! Because when we finished and paid there was a sandwich that was brought out to someone and it looked massive. I'm not sure what happened, but I called to make sure my order was the way I PAID FOR - & not only was the manager "badhi " or what ever his name was (no disrespect bc I don't remember it was complicated) on Jan 22,2024 @ around 8:45pm SARCASTIC& UNPROFESSIONAL, but when I told him " I called ahead of time to make sure this didn't happen" he tried to make me feel stupid by saying it was one way - when in fact I was present in the store-- it was another way. Then proceeded to tell me "well next time ask for that" even though I JUST CALLED AHEAD AND ASKED FOR IT SPECIFICALLY! I asked to speak to someone in charge and he said he can't give out that information and he was the manager. We placed a take our order and I have to say I'm extremely disappointed. Not only did they get our order wrong, we ordered milk boneless for our kids and they made hot so they weren't able to eat it, but they also did such a poor job packaging it that the sauce and some of the wings had fallen out of the foam box and into the plastic bag.
