I used to eat Habit a lot as a college student and decided to come once again years later. Ordered a charburger and fries. The taste is exactly the same as it used to be. A decent similarly classic style burger. The fries are still as crispy as I remember them and one of the best for a chain. The real change is the price. I used to be getting this for roughly $7 and now it's $11. I can no longer justify coming here as the price hikes have reached costs matching local joints that make huge meat patty burgers with an entire tray full of thick cut fries. And when it comes in comparison, chains don't match up sadly. Overall, a nice trip down the memory lane. This is my go-to The Habit location in Pasadena. Parking is never a problem with the big parking lot. I came today to redeem their buy-one-get-one free charburger offer. For a variety of reasons, Habit is currently my fave fast food chain. First, its location is so convenient, especially since locals know the shopping centre where it's located has 2 sides/levels, with Habit being on the back side/upper level, next to Chuck E Cheese. Second, their menu has a decent variety of choices beyond burgers, more so than larger chains like McDonald's and Carl's Jr. Third, their food is made to order. You can order on-site at the register or at a kiosk, but I usually order on their app. Fourth, if you are registered with them, they often have offers that have great value. Fifth, I like their beverage choices at their drink station, especially their dragonfruit limeade and their strawberry limeade. There's also an adjacent condiment bar that has jalapenos, pepperoncini's, lemon and lime slices, and ketchup. There's and In-N-Out nearby also, and yes they are iconic, but often I just don't to sit in my car for over 30 minutes for my food. And this location is the old-school style--primarily drive-through with no indoor or on-site dining. There's also a Hook Burger nearby. This chain was started by the original Habit founders after they sold Habit. The menu is very similar to Habit, supposedly more upscale, but doesn't offer offers. read more

BUYER BEWARE! We walked inside to order and the entire restaurant smelled like vomit. We ordered our food, but decided to sit outside. As we're eating our food we were greeted by several ROACHES. This location is in sort of a run down strip mall - it's actually behind a grocery store and some other things. The front of the mall isn't bad. The side the Habit is on has seen better days. We also found it difficult to find... we didn't realize there WAS a backside to this strip mall and the signage wasn't that clear. This is located next to a Chuck E. Cheese so that may explain the inordinate amount of kids. It was LOUD in there. So loud that we decided to eat on the outdoor tables. Ordering was easy - you can go to the counter or they have kiosks if you're avoiding humans. We got a salad after our first two choices - fried green beans and tempura avocado - were unavailable. Disappointing. The salad was just OK. It was a pre-packed salad with some chicken. Not that exciting. My family frequents this location for both takeout and dining in. The restaurant is clean and the service is pretty consistent. You can order at the counter or at the kiosk. The staff are friendly and helpful. My go-to order is the BBQ Bacon Char with cheese. I always request no pickles, and that's what I get. I mention this because one of my pet peeves is requesting no pickles and somehow places neglect to do that and it ruins my burger. The beef patty is generous and cooked perfectly. The bacon is exceptional. Everything is fresh. I haven't been disappointed yet! All the side orders are generous. Your food comes out pretty quickly as it's well-staffed; tons of parking spots outside; and if you eat here, there's unlimited fountain drinks. My only gripe is that it gets kind of dirty over near said fountain drink area and the trash piles up often in the receptacles. You can order your food at the register, but they have four touch screen kiosks there as well. It's kind of funny that people still wait in line when there's like these kiosks right next to them. The burgers are pretty solid here, especially for a fast food chain. I usually get the double char cheeseburger combo (comes with fries and a drink). Try the fries with ranch - it's great! I feel conflicted about this place, it seems kind of hit or miss. For some reason, I vividly remember enjoying better meals here in the past, but tonight's meal of Double Char Burger with Cheese (and Onion Rings) left me somewhat disappointed ... it wasn't terrible, but after I was done eating, I concluded I would have been happier getting a Super Star from the Carl's Jr. down the street (especially given that CJ always mails coupons and has non-coupon based promos). Food aside ... the restaurant interior is always very clean during my visits, and there are unmanned ordering kiosks inside, which are great if you would prefer that to placing an order with a human staff member. There always seem to be plenty of parking outside, and I appreciate that they bother to supply heating to the outdoor customer seating during this cold weather. P.S. Check your bags to ensure you received your complete order before leaving. I've been to this location several times and the burgers and fries were always well made. However, today I'm not sure if they had a new cook but they were awful. The buns were cold, and not toasted. The cheese was not melted and overall it wasn't tasty how it usually does. The fries taste like they were refried a few times. Not sure if I went at a bad time, but it wasn't busy. Some of the staff also wears gloves. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is available for take outs and has some indoor & outdoor seating available with no limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was grabbing my food from this establishment several days ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They currently don't have happy hour. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is pretty massive. Lots of spots for you to choose from. Take your pick. Food: I ordered a tri tip sandwich. The tri-tip sandwich is marinated in house, char-broiled and topped with either a sweet tangy barbecue sauce or teriyaki. The service here has really changed and the restaurant is dirty. Habit used to be my favorite place to grab a burger, but the last few visits haven't been very good. Tonight my husband has been talking about their ice cream cones. We ordered out meal and added two vanilla soft serve to have while we waited for our order. The soft serve was awful, I got my cone and the entire thing wasn't set and starting to lean to one side. My husband's cone just fell off to the side, all over his hand. This is probably one of the better Habit Burger Grills out there in the area. First off, it's a little difficult to find on the GPS. The GPS takes you to the front around the Whole Foods marker, but that's incorrect. It's actually behind it along with the entrance of the Chuck E Cheese. They have dedicated curb side pick up spots and also have a huge parking lot that is not really in use. The servers here are friendly and the kitchen staff make the burgers well and cook the French fries great as well. The portion is a good amount and the French fries are fried to perfection and also not overly salted. Highly recommend this Habit Burger and also is one of the closest habit burgers to Pasadena. Worth the drive if you're craving for a burger! Only thing I would be careful about is the entrance and exit. Unfortunately scraped my BMW M4 front bumper leaving. Be extra mindful and angle your car more than usual, use the whole driveway if you need to clear it. read more

Not all Habits are created equal- literally and figuratively - this is definitely a really good one. They embody the perfectly grilled chicken sammich with grilled onions on toasted sourdough like no other. This location in particular makes it as good as the original Habit in Santa Barbara. Garden salad was heaping with fresh veggies, and highly recommend the tempura green beans - ask for their sriracha sauce because it's free and so worth it. We have lunch here once a week as my son loves the chicken sandwich. Service used to be great but for the last month it has really gone downhill. Today the restaurant was very dirty trash on the floor, dirty counter area and the quality of the food not as good as it used to be. I'll be honest from the start. I have never liked the Habit. I got a burger years ago and thought it was totally gross. However, my son's school started having events where a Habit food truck would come and feed the kids. And, helping out one day, I was allowed to take a chicken sandwich home. To my surprise, it was good. It was a charbroiled patty marinated in something akin to Italian dressing with cheese, lettuce, and tomato. So, needing to get my boy a quick bit a couple weeks ago between Muay Thai and a guitar lesson, I decided why not get us a couple of chicken sandwiches. Mine was the standard, and his was to have nothing on it except the chicken and buns, with teriyaki sauce on the side. You can choose on the side for sauces on their app. It's not a special request. So, I would've thought that wouldn't cause a hiccup. However, when the food was delivered curbside, I had the feeling I better check. Good thing I did, because the teriyaki sauce was all over the sandwich and not on the side. I went inside and explained they got the order wrong. They were quick to try and fix it, but the fact is while I'm waiting on a new chicken sandwich, my sandwich is going ice cold and the fries and onion rings are, too. I could've made a stink I suppose, and demanded an entire re-fire. Or, they could've thought about it and said let us remake the order. When we got home, I was lucky I had checked, cause my kid said the teriyaki sauce was disgusting. It didn't matter all that much, because my stomach hurt terribly the rest of the day.
