We stopped in for lunch today and it's changed a little since the last time we visited. The food is good, not as good as I remember but still really good. We sat in the back room this time and it's well smelly. Like old building/people smell. We got a cheese pizza and the pizza man special. Everything is made when you order it so plan on waiting a bit. My sister got the salad bar and that was still spot on. I ate a few of her lettuce leaves and dressing lol. The pizza man special has pepperoni, salami, sausage, black olives, green peppers, extra cheese and we added tomato on top. Oh and extra sauce one one half. On my half i said no black olives, add extra sauce. Well that extra sauce cause my dough to be raw. The other side was cooked fine. But yall they made a whole new pizza and we took it to go. Except this time we did the sauce on the side. We now have enough pizza everyone can get 2 slices.

I'm impressed. The meatball pizza (add ricotta) AMAZING! The crust is so good and I love a good crust. It's a no frills, dive type place but the service is friendly and the pizza was delicious! They accommodated our party of 9 with a smile. This could be a 5 star review if they clean the place up more and invest in better decor.

With 8 visits under our belt it's time to put pen to paper regarding Pizzaman. It gets a decent thumbs up from us. They have the most complete salad bar I've seen in a long time. Kidney beans, baby corn, chickpeas, cucs, shrooms, eggs and much, much more. You can order the return trip SB (we have) and forget everything else. The food is good, not great. I must say I had a teriyaki reindeer dinner over rice that was very tasty. The portion was so big I only finished half. It heated up nicely at home, too. I didn't care for their spaghetti or the lasagna. Let's talk pizza. They are in the top three for pizza with us. While they are a bit heavy on the sauce, the ingredients were terrific. Again, this heated up very well at home the next day. The biggest issue we have is the service. Very bad. Each time we visit there's a huge party in the back room. They are understaffed for starters and their timing is not the best. When the salad arrives WITH the pizza or it's fifteen minutes between visits from the server, there's a problem. Over the weekend, we were so hungry and waited for an initial visit for so long, we just grabbed plates and went to the salad bar. The host was good enough to fetch us drinks. But the server never showed. Even though he said she was aware (not to mention she walked past us several times) she never stopped at the table until she greeted us by dropping off the check. We tipped him. This happened on a Saturday when the Bear Paw festival drew most of their customers away. Carry out may be your best bet on this place and avoid the iced tea. Watered down and zero flavour. 07/22

Pizzaman has is one of Eagle Rivers oldest and best restaurants. They make excellent pizza and Italian meals and sandwiches. The pizza is made from fresh ingredients and baked to your request. They have several house named pizzas that will satisfy most diners desires. But if none of their creations are what you want, they give you an opportunity to design your own pizza from a large selection of ingredients. They have a salad bar that you can choose to make your own salad with their prepared vegetables and salad makings or they will bring you a different salad. They have several delicious desserts. A very long list of craft brewed excellent and regional beers in an iced mug, schooner, or pitcher. They have hard ciders and domestic beers. They have the normal selection of non-alcoholic drinks. There is a large number of tables and booths that are often filled for both lunch and dinner. They offer carry out and delivery and you can sign up for a points loyalty program. They also have lunch specials every day during Monday to Friday. Pizzaman does serve alcohol, but it is definitely a family place. They have parking on both sides of the street and behind the restaurant. Parking does get very crowded during lunch and peak dining times. It is a great place to eat.

Like, Home-Alone-slap-your-virgin-face-with-after-shave-and-scream-levels of blown away. Not only do they have a TON of taps. Pay no attention to some of the older reviews that specify the number of taps. The current number is now: 64. I'll say that again SIXTY-FOUR taps. If there is a place in the state of AK with more taps than that, I would like to know where it is. Currently, to my brain, this place is the current Sourdough Tap King. Anyway, not only do they have the MOST taps. They have some really unique stuff. There were beers on tap here that I've never even seen for sale at the larger Brown Jug warehouses! There are beers on tap I didn't even know were distributed in AK! Most impressive. The food, was just OK. I got some tacos and they were alright. They filled me up but weren't much to write home about. Given the Gambrinian fortitude on display here, I will definitely be back. It makes an excellent post-hike stop if you're up near Twin Peaks.

Overall 3.5 Stars…read more 3.25 Stars - Located in Eagle River in the business center next to Cold Stone, the pizza joint is a takeout only. No tables or chairs. There is a sliding frig to grab your can or bottled drinks. 4 Stars Located- Service - a couple of employees shared multiple duties as a cashier, server and cook. The lady who helped me was pleasant and friendly. She took my order and said it should be ready within 10 minutes. And it was! They were slightly busy w phone calls and people coming in and preparing the pizzas. I gave it a 4 star rating for how efficient and effective the two employees were. Working in tandem with a positive attitude. 3.75 Stars - Pizza I ordered the special, a 14" Pepperoni Pizza and within 10 minutes I had a hot and fresh pie. If Yelp had Smell-o-Vision, you would be drooling. So I figure I should do "taste test" to make sure the quality was on par! And it was! The crust was crunchy on the edge and bottom but had slight give when picking it up. It had enough resistance when tearing the crust with your teeth or fingers. The pie had a "ok" amount of pepperoni on it. Maybe three pepperoni on each slice and the mozzarella cheese melted evenly. The taste of the pepperoni was good and had a little bit of the grease you want on a pizza. Also, the tomato sauce had enough seasoning to tantalize your taste buds. The pizza is cooked in a oven, not a wood fire or charcoal oven but the bottom crust was cooked evenly and had enough cornmeal to coat the bottom. The dough is more of a thicker crust versus a thin crust. I think it would be called a "grandma's crust". It is somewhere between Neapolitan and Chicago style, It was light and fluffy and the dough bubbled up as it created air pockets in the hot oven. I would say it was in the oven about 6 minutes. I prefer a thinner crust and a little bit more pepperoni but I enjoyed and devoured it. Other items on the menu included different appetizers, wings, salads, and a few desserts. I recommend this place and will be back again.

It's very good pizza. Not the greatest, but very good. It reheats well and eats better than decent when cold. For $10.99 they have a large pepperoni that more than satisfies. I'm not normally a fan of the machine pressed stuff or the corn meal-replacing-the-flour-because-it's-less-messy-shtick, but, this one's not too bad and so they deserve the business. It's close by our new place, making it extremely convenient. The folks are friendly and fast. Perfect combo for us. We'll be back. 07/22

The orders take forever due to staffing, where a 15-minute order via the app actually takes 30 minutes. I have seen only two staff in this location at max, and prior, it was only the single employee. Now, both times the same employee was working as hard as they could, running the back and front while taking phone orders. I assume they were managing online/app orders concurrently while making the food and running the register. The inside of the restaurant has always been super clean, and there are zero complaints for how friendly the staff has been. They have apologized for the wait time more than they need to, as you can't tell the staffing issues are not their fault, yet they are still trying to provide good service. A neat factor about this location is that there is a gas 360-degree fire in the center of the restaurant that is going when it is colder out, that puts out a nice warmth while you are sitting inside eating or waiting for your food.

We walked in and the lady at the front already seemed like she was mad we walked in. She didn't like that we asked my little nephew what he would like. We asked if he wanted pepperoni or cheese or half and half. He told us half and half. We told us and as she was putting it in he changed his mind to all pepperoni so we said sorry change that to all pepperoni. My sister then saw the pizza box offer and we asked what was in that. And at that point she really seemed annoyed with us. Mind you we are now maybe 3 minutes in from walking in the store front. She told us half melt, melt personal pan or 4 piece boneless chicken. We asked what is that she repeated it again and we looked at each other like what? We then asked I'm sorry what's a half melt. She at that moment clapped her hands at us said there pointing to a board on the wall. She then picked up a menu and before she finished, I took my nephews hand and said never mind we are leaving. They looked like what i said I'm not doing this. If she's having a bad day she will not ruin mine. My nephew is autistic and ADHD. HE STARTED crying saying why why we leaving. Why she do that. He stood outside for a sec and explained to him what happened. And we thought taking him there since it's always quiet he could eat and have no issues. Pizza is a safe food for him so why not. Please train your employees better. At anytime should they act that way with the public. If she's having a bad day at home or at work, show up with a smile. Your tips rely on that. It's by no means the only pizza we buy or enjoy but when we do, we are always satisfied. I'm also not a pizza snob and I freely admit that. It's a nice option too, when you aren't quite ready to eat, but don't want to go back out for take out. The disposable, single use pizza pan is nice... simply bake your pizza and throw it away. I feel like I personally have perfected baking a PMP and after the allotted baking time, I turn the broiler on low and brown the top, rotating and moving the pizza in the oven. It takes a few extra minutes, but it's worth it. I've never experienced raw or undercooked pizza... even when following just the instructions. I do find that a full price pizza is a bit spendy, but there are sooooo many coupons out there, it's kind of your own fault if you pay full price. A simple look in google and it's pretty easy to get a nice coupon code to order online. I like to order it to be picked up at a certain time, like when I'm on my way home from work, I know what time I'm going to be in the area. When I've decided on a whim to stop in, I've been offered a discount automatically and I've also asked if there are any specials... There are ALWAYS specials. They're generally pretty busy making pizza, and yes, it takes time to make pizza, even if they don't cook it. If I order and wait, they have always stopped and made mine. Within the last week, I've ordered twice online... once to drop a pizza, cookie dough and soda off at a friends house because he had just moved and I got a great deal! The toppings were plentiful and exactly what I ordered and ready when I arrived. The second time, a modified pizza for us to pick up on our way home... when I got to the car, I noticed it was missing a topping. I verified my order via email and walked back in. The young man was extremely apologetic, did not make excuses, a corrected the mistake quickly! Again, stopped making the two that he was working on, added my missed topping and I was on my way. It was an excellent pizza for what it is.
