Tried Pizza Gram Plus for the first time this past Wednesday and it was jam packed at 5:30. I learned that it was parm night, hence the crowds. We ordered an 8 cut pizza with pepperoni and green peppers and it was pretty good. It was definitely a grease bomb, though, so I could only eat a couple of slices. I also think $2 per topping is a little steep, especially since the pizza wasn't chock full of said toppings (and they are some of the most basic toppings there are). The service was pretty fast considering how busy it was. I might try them again on a more laid back evening. read more

Ok, let me start by saying that I love the pizza here, and my boyfriend and I have had a couple nice dinners sitting at the bar. HOWEVER. The last two times I've tried to call for takeout, I have ended up canceling my order due to the rudeness of the person on the phone and what is either his scamming or their totally insane pricing policies. For instance, about 5 minutes ago, I got off the phone with him (after canceling my order). I had tried to order a 12-cut, 1-topping pizza, an order of wings, and a philly steak wrap. Per their website, this order comes to about $29.49. When I asked the guy on the phone for a total, he seemed a little annoyed to have to figure it for me and then quoted me a total of $49 and change. FORTY-NINE DOLLARS +. I said, "whoa... wait a minute... can you run through that pricing for me?" We came to an understanding that the pizza was roughly $15, but when I asked him to clarify the prices of the other two items (9.99 and 6.75 per the menu), he sighed and said, "I'll punch it in again, but our menu prices have changed and it's gonna come out the same. [pause for calculating] 49 dollars." (So not only did he not answer my question, but somehow 10 wings and a wrap now cost $34.) This is the second very bad experience I've had trying to order takeout. A large part of me would like to drive over there right now to ask for clarification on their pricing, but despite their delicious pizza and very nice bartender, I don't particularly feel like patronizing them at this point. read more

We go here after Monday night running at Tawasentha, which is right around the corner. Mondays are pasta night, a salad and a bowl of pasta for $7.95. Its a great deal. The salad is fresh and has a lot of vegetables, and the pasta is tasty even if the marinara sauce is some days tastes more like just tomatoes. It goes back and forth, some days better than others. I also had someone in our party order the mozzarella and tomato salad, but they were out of mozzarella. Total shame at the close of tomato season (I mean maybe not, but the days are getting shorter, so they may be close to done). I ordered the Manicotti, and came to realize that there was more cheese per ratio of pasta and tomato sauce. If that's up your alley go for it, but I prefer the stuffed shells. You get way more tomato sauce and there isn't so much broiled cheese on top, the flavors go better when they are more balanced. My family has been Pizza here for 2 years. When we first moved to the area I tried at least 10 pizza places around Albany. This by far was the best quality pizza. The pizza is delicious every time I get it. You know a pizza is quality when it tastes great in the microwave the next day. This restaurant also has other great Italian food and great dinner specials during the week. It's no secret in town because you can go there on a Wednesday night and it is packed. We got take out from Macerola's Pizza Gram Plus when I was craving New York Pizza. It's not the best the area has to offer, but they do make a decent pie, although the dough is a bit thicker than I would like. It's close to where I stay up there, so it gets the job done, and Sparky's from what I hear was the reigning champion until they closed up shop. read more

TL;DR: baked cavatelli is fake news! Cheap Wednesday chicken parm is good except the pasta is over cooked and just has a blob of sauce on it. It's pretty sad. Apparently you can no longer upcharge to a different pasta. So the waitress convinced me to buy the baked cavatelli separate. Now I'm buying two dinners instead of one cheap one, whatever I chose that. Why am I upset? My $16 baked cavatelli wasn't even baked! Didn't have ricotta or melty mozzarella as advertised. Sad amount of pasta in sauce for price too. Fra diablo sauce had the amount of kick I like tho. Good selection of food. Italian, steaks, pizza, wings,salads. This was our go to wing and pizza pick up spot. We gave up a bunch of times with their busy phones. Seems like they only had one phone line ringing in. They only have one bitter IPA at the bar on draft. I wish they'd mix it up a little. read more

My mom and I were out and about she's had several fantastic lunches at Pizza Gram Plus so I decided to give it a try. The interior was cozy and there were a few other tables. There was only one waitress working however she was very good. Both my mom and I had the Corned Beef Rubens and split an order of fries. The rubens were delicious and overall it was a good experience. The service was quick and the atmosphere was nice. It is nice to have a good place to stop for lunch in Guilderland. read more

With just a couple of tweaks this place could be great. Firstly, they have one phone line that is constantly busy. Secondly, there is no pizza, especially theirs, worth an hour wait for delivery, if they show up, which happened to me once. Lastly, the eat in area is gross. I mean fly in the parm shaker gross. Being the only game in town (because I'd die before ordering Rugierro's ever again) brings an obligation to do it right. Large parties can make or break a restaurant. Tonight we had ~ 50 people for our end of season basketball party. The were waiting for us and had all the tables ready to go. The wait staff were extremely attentive and accommodating, and the food was good!! They even cut a cake we bought in. I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience! I LOVED the pizza. We had it two nights in a row it was so great. We just moved into the area and its just a short walk from my home. We ordered a 24 cut white pizza and the next day we had regular pizza with sausage and both were very very tasty. The food from here is usually amazing, but today's was the worst service I've ever received from a delivery service. The girl on the phone took down all of my contact information incorrectly, leading the delivery driver on a 90 minute search for my house, which he only found after I called the store asking what was going on. Once he arrived, the pizzas were not the correct order and were too much for us to pay, so we had to send them back. No discounts were offered to compensate for such bad service and, to top it off, the pizzas were cold. Heavily recommend avoiding their phone ordering service. Then I had to repeat that - two more times. C'mon - really? Do you not want people to order from you? If so, you're doing a very good job of achieving that goal. We went there for dinner time, we ordered the following boneless wings, it was BBQ flavored. It was fine yet the bone wings mild spicy was okay, it was more of sweet tang over mild spicy flavor. My colleague have had burger, it was juicy meat. Personal meat lover pizza was good and is a bit bigger than normal personal size, lastly I had a baked calzone. It had a good texture overall. Chicken parm is horrible. Don't understand how this is a popular menu item. For $17.95 you'd expect way better than something that tasted like it was frozen, then heated up in a microwave. I have been here a couple times just to give it a fair shake but I am done. I just spent 80 bucks for my family to eat one of the worst meals I have had in awhile. First the service is not the greatest i had my salad delivered before any of our drinks. I have worked as a waiter in my life and first thing they teach you is drinks in first 5 minutes and never an empty glass. Ok so the food... We had stuffed shells pizza and chicken and eggplant parm and it was "parm" night... Well all I can say is the sauce must of been from a can they use at a prison or school sauce for it absolutely had not a bit of flavor which completely made the meal tasteless. Soda even tasted flat in this place. The pizza and shells and wings all sucked. We moved here from NJ and people up here must have no taste buds for the place was crowded. A friend told me about the Tuesday steak special, and so now I guess I owe him a diner. You have starter of soup or salad, and I opted for the chicken vegetable soup. Large chunks of chicken, and so many different kinds of vegetables I lost count. The 16 oz. sirloin was cooked to perfection. Ordered pasta as the side, and when baked potato and mixed vegetables was served by mistake, it was quickly replaced by chef himself, with profound apologies. Everything was delicious. Did I mention the above cost $13.95 ? Tami, bartender tonight, is totally professional with a delightful personality. Will be returning soon, as I viewed the menu which has extensive Italian American offerings I am eager to try. All seem reasonably priced. The atmosphere had this nice homey feel, and the waitstaff was great, but I can't really justify the price you pay for what you're getting, as generous as the portions are. Ordered 4 meals and some sides thru Mealo. When the order arrived there were only 3 meals and the sides. Neither Pizza Gram nor Mealeo was willing to help me out. Pizza gram said they sent 4 meals. They sent 4 bags but 1 bag had the side items in it. The meal was $17.95 and though I called Pizza Gram and Mealeo neither was willing to give me a refund for the missing meal. Pretty embarrassing when you have 4 people for dinner and only 3 meals. I will say Pizza Gram's food is good and Mealeo usually does a good delivery job but this time I feel like I was robbed. Be careful ordering a "large" pizza. We were staying up here for a family function and decided to order pizza. We asked for a large and they asked if we wanted the 12 slice or 24 slice...so we said 24. Little did we know that their 24 slice was actually 2 pies of the 12 slice pie!! We ended up with a ton of pizza and a very large bill!!! Not sure why they just don't say 12 slices is their large pie. End of story! The pizza was ok. The Wednesday night deal is killer. A HUGE piece of chicken parm with salad and ziti for $9. Can't beat it. There a lot of poor reviews on here from people who either have no experience working in a restaurant, or are just expecting too much. It's not NYC, relax. If you're going to eat at the bar, don't. The bar is not ideal space for eating when there are others trying to get their drink on. That's what the restaurant space is for and its very cozy there as well. Great local family restaurant. It has an attached sports bar but I've never had an issue with that. There are 2 dinning rooms. One has large screens for watching sorts, the other has a cozy, quiet feel with a fireplace. Wednesday nights are always busy because it's parm special night. You get a giant chicken, veal or eggplant parm with a large plate of pasta. Any other night you can share this 3-4 meal plate, but on Wednesday with the cheaper price they want everyone ordering their own. Wednesday nights always have slower service, but that's due to the enormous volume of parms they are cranking out. We choose to skip Wednesday night parms since our family usually goes for the pizza, burgers and wraps. Their pizzas are great. They're not quite a NYC style, but very typical of upstate. My personal favorite is the deep dish. The service can be hit and miss, but if you get one of their veteran servers, you'll be very happy. read more
