The woman helping me was friendly enough but made it a point to tell me how gas prices were fine at $4.10 per gallon as long as Trump was the president, which annoyed me because it gives an indication that details don't matter here. Given the taste of the $15 small sub I paid for it definitely tracks. Be your own critic, but for me it's the history of this place and not the food has people coming back. I won't be one of them.

I wanted to try a representative sampling of their food, so I ordered a chicken parmigiana wedge, a large cheese pizza, and a 2 liter bottle of diet Coke. Out of the three items, the best part of the meal was - the diet Coke. (If you've tried getting Cocla Cola products from Albany restaurants and are a Coke fan, you understand this.) The pizza was pleasant, but decidedly average. The crust was not crisp, though reheating should help with that, which I shall find out with the leftovers. There was more crust than I normally like relative to the cheese, but it wasn't overly unbalanced. It was just a little too much on the crust side. The wedge, in conrast, had so much sauce I could not taste the chciken at all, and had trouble even finding the chicken on the sandwich. When I did, the chicken had minimal flavor. a good chicken parmiagiana should actually let you taste chicken with crisp breading, not soggy breding hidden in enough sauce to cause digestive distress. And yes, I did expereince digestive distress. I might buy their pizza again, but Albany's a decent size city, and there's lots of competition. But I won't be trying the wedge for quite a whle.

Don't skip this place for pizza. It's one of the better upstate NY pizza places for sure. As pizza…read moresnob from NYC, I enjoyed the standard cheese pizza far more than I expected to. Also worth trying is the lamb over rice. Next time, I'd get it with extra sauce as it was a bit dry. However, I prefer this to Aria down the street - this doesn't have that flavor I dislike in the food from that other place that I've yet to figure out. I don't know if they have other options to add toppings, but maybe it's something to explore. It was just rice and lamb with a bit of green salad. Not other than advertised so no complaints there. The mozzerella sticks were good. Melba sauce was provided (as it should be everywhere in the universe). I'm torn on the eggplant parm dinner. It seemed like the eggplant rounds were cut up and mixed into the ziti or they were tender enough that they just disintegrated into the ziti. I'm certainly into having pasta with eggplant parm but also I want to control that ratio. This made it difficult to find and fork the eggplant amidst the ziti. It was also difficult to find eggplant pieces where the eggplant and breading were still unified. The eggplant was pretty good though. The calzone is not small. It was a bit light on ricotta compared to other calzones but there was no lack of cheese overall. It was more of a folded over white pizza than a calzone. That is, I expected it to be a puffy pocket but it was a flat semi circle with big slits on top. Not bad. Maybe I'd be in the mood for that style of calzone again in the future. I'd skip the buffalo chicken wrap next time. It was relatively dry, not spicy, and not as substantial as I was expecting. Beyond that, it had a grill flavor to it that was a bit out of place and interfered with the expected flavor. They seemed to put it on the grill to seal it closed in the middle but they keep the ends open so you have to hold the end closed while eating it to prevent bits from falling out. It was more of a somewhat buffalo flavored chicken roll-up than a buffalo chicken wrap. Surprisingly good fries. Also, great peanut butter pie. Note that the pepperoni is beef. It is very appreciated that it is clearly marked as beef so people can decide if that's a thing they want more or less than traditional pepperoni. Far too few other places think it's important to note this!

I have been eating here for several years and I have to tell you that I have consistently been disappointed with the food here. I have no gripe with service and the place is packed all the time, but hear me out. MY family is friendly with this outfit and I have a sister who always goes with her husband and friends to the bar for a drink with a a gang of other peeps because they live near there. So when we have a family get together we wind up here about 3 x a year. Last week five of us went and the bill was $130 and that included 3 beers/wines. The rest had soft drinks. We ordered several things: Meatload which was rock hard. Clams casino which was loaded with some kind of fish that imitated crab meat-not pleasing, however the greens underneath were tasty. Three orders of chix wngs which bring me to the BIG GRIPE- the wing sauce when you order medium or mild or hot wings is some syrupy crap that comes out of a Sysco 5 gallon pail and taste like some odd sweet and sour BBQ sauce. It is NOT the Buffalo style wing sauce made with butter and Louisiana style hot sauce (and sometimes a few special additives depending on the chef) SO WHATEVER YOU DO DON'T ORDER THE MILD MEDIUM OR HOT CHICKEN WINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! However that leads me to the next item- the garlic Parmesan Wings which were TERRIFIC!!!!..... NOW- if the management wants to change one thing that will immensely improve their appetizer business it is this: MAKE THE BUFFALO WING SAUCE IN HOUSE AND MAKE THOSE FRIED WINGS DECENT AND EDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Phew! I am in a lather over that. However I will say that having met the owner once I suspect he is not the type to take advice. Ok, where was I? Ohh, the haddock was very good. The steak sandwich was fair. The antipasto was terrible. It was loaded with soggy marinated eggplant which must be on sale. I picked a cupful off of my antipasto. Then the salad dressing was super sweet and the meats were not great, just passable. I will never order the antipasto again. Of course the folks who go there all the time like my sister seem to think this place is great and no matter how unhappy they get over the food and high prices in caparison to the value, they always trudge back like they figure it will magically be great next time. I am pretty mych ready to give up and make an excuse next time the family says "We are going to Pizzagram, wanna' go??" I suggest you find somewhere else, honestly. And I hope they don't filter me- I worked hard to digest that under-average meal so I could write this. read more

If you are looking for a family owned restaurant with a great food, then Pizza Gram Plus is the place to go! The staff is great, quick, polite and they bring the food out in a reasonable time. Pizza Gram is well know for Wednesday Parm night and it is definitely worth the wait. On Wednesday night you get a choice of chicken, eggplant, or haddock parm or stuffed shells with ziti or linguine and soup or salad for a little over $8. The chicken parm for me is a favorite. It is tender and moist with a crunchy exterior. The chicken is so tender that you only need a fork to cut through it. The sauce is a nice Italian homemade sauce that is not to overwhelming. The chicken is paired with just the right amount of mozzarella cheese. The chicken is a great deal that will surely have you bringing home leftovers. The Staff at Pizza Gram is always welcoming and very patient with the anxious costumers that are waiting for a table on a busy Wednesday night. They just renovated as well so now there is more seating and a larger bar area for customers to wait. I highly recommend Pizza Gram if you enjoy a nice family restaurant with quick and friendly staff. read more

There's some buzz around their upside-down/COB-style pizza, and on paper, it should hit. But execution? That's where things fall apart. Crust comes out too thick and bready, lacking that crisp bite you expect. It feels more like filler than foundation. When you pick up a slice, it just doesn't have that structure or snap. Now the big issue the sauce. You guys know I'm a sauce snob. It leans heavy, overly sweet, and kind of flat. Instead of elevating the slice, it overwhelms it. You don't get that balanced, tangy tomato flavor just a one-note layer that sits on top of everything. Cheese and overall bake? Inconsistent. Some areas overcooked, others just sitting there. It doesn't come together as one cohesive slice. Even looking at Yelp (around that 3.3 range), it lines up this is a spot people want to like, but the consistency and quality just aren't there.
