Pizza A Metro - Big pizza 3 different choices - Italian Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

Funky small place in strip mall, but the food was outstanding and the service terrific. Best pizza I have had in Scottsdale since I arrived two years ago, and I have tried a lot. The calamari fritti appetizer was great as well. The location is an hour away from where I live, but I will visit again often. read more

I can't believe it took me so long to finally try this place, everything was DELICIOUS! I told my husband let's be adventurous and try a new restaurant- then I remembered Pizza A Metro. We ordered wings, meat lovers pizza and chicken marsala. The wings were meaty, cooked just right and had the right amount of sauce. The pizza was excellent, only high quality meats and I can't stop raving about the chicken marsala. The pasta was not overcooked, the chicken seasoned perfectly and as well as the sauce. Additionally, the hospitality was top notch. Our waitress kept checking on us as well as the owner (I am assuming the lady was the owner). We will be returning customers. read more

Food is amazing, service is great, back patio is pretty cool, owner is awesome. We live right down the road from the place and decided to try it. Have been back 5 times since then and I recommend anyone who comes from out of town to try it. All of the pizzas are amazing. Some of the best spaghetti and meatballs I've had. Have tried almost everything on the menu at this point and haven't been disappointed yet. It's my favorite place in the valley! read more

Now before anyone gets offended or wondering why I rated it a 4 is there's always room for improvement. Unfortunately with a lot of businesses they've had to increase their menu prices. Portion sizes here are adequate but still on the expensive end. The lady who was serving me was the owner (with her husband I believe) and was very kind and helpful. The ambiance was casual and cozy (borderline in need of just a little refreshing here and there). A must go to if you haven't been to try out their food offerings! read more

What a great experience!!! We had Pizza A Metro cater our son's graduation party! Working with Margarita was so easy! I picked 3 items from their menu..Penne Pomodoro, Fettuccine Primavera and Salmon Picatta and told her how many guests were invited! Margarita sent me a quote with the amounts of food we would need. When I tell you the woman knows what she is doing, I'm not joking around! I first thought it wasn't going to be enough food, but Margarita took the time to explain the portion size and she was spot on! Now let's get to the good part, the food!!! Everyone at the party raved about it! They wanted to know where we catered from! My nephew who is not a Salmon eater in particular, loved the Salmon! No leftovers were had with that dish!!! I did have some leftovers with the other two dishes and that was a bonus since it was so good! Also their delicious bread came with our order, and they gave us a lot!!! They use their pizza dough to make the bread so it's flat and not over filling! Perfect addition to the meal! I would highly recommend catering from them! In fact my SIL who lives in Scottsdale mentioned using them for a party she's having in the fall! This is a gem of a restaurant in a small obscure strip mall! If you haven't tried it out yet, you're missing out of some delicious food, and Margarita's hospitality! We will definitely be going for dinner soon! read more

My husband and I were not in our local area today but wanted to grab lunch close by. We are so glad we found Pizza A Metro! Very small restaurant but the back patio was perfect. There were a few parties there but spaced enough to not feel crowded. The service was excellent & so friendly. We had pizza and even ordered one to go for the kids when we got home. Btw, it warmed up amazingly in the oven- preheated our pizza stone and then add the slices. This ensures it's as crispy perfect as it was the first time! We will make the drive again soon to try the pasta! Keep up the great hospitality! read more

UPDATE 05/21/2020 Hadn't been by in awhile due to this nutty COVID pandemic, but couldn't hold out anymore, and had to get my Italiano grub on. First, ordered the Stracciatella w/ lil' extra meatballs to take home to my superior wife... then it was decisions, decisions, decisions ... I desired a warm, meaty, cheesy, sloppy sammich, and since there are no losers here, I just asked my sweet Margarit to surprise me. My God, Magnum! This was the best sammy I ever had! I had to call Margarita to ask what it was so I can get it next time, again (and again, and again ...!). She hooked me up w/ the Meat Lover's Panini, and added bacon and extra homemade Mozzarella cheese..... mmm, mmm, MMMhhh! Wonderful w/ the balsamic (and red wine?) dressed side salad. Knocked it outta the park again, girl! Thank you, again, **Margarit** for taking such good care of me (and mah belly!). See ya soon... Ciao bella! ======================================================= I've always loved my pizza-pie how like I like my gals... on the thicky-thick side! But I've never really enjoyed a thin crust...until today. Since Chzburgr is closed, I can't get my cheese grub swerve on today on my b-day as expected, so instead I had the One Meter Metro Supreme, hand-crafted w/ fresh home-made-in-the-shop mozzarella, sausage, and the like. I've eaten pizzas in Italy and gotta say, this is one of the best pizzas I've ever had! Yes, from Pizza A Metro just on the outskirts of Encanto, and yes, this is over 39" of authentic, Italian, woodfired pizza-pie. And, yes, this little piggy ate all but 4 pieces of this 39" flatbread meat treat! youtube.com/watch?v=8KkI... I need to give a shout-out to my fav fiesty cutie there, **Margarita**, who made me stracciatella soup when I was sick one time, and now I get it semi-regularly. And a hearty hello to D.J., who opened up early this morn so I could pre-place my order. Grazie & Dziakuj! read more

We had arrived close to closing so we were not expecting to be able to be seated but everyone was so welcoming and inviting. We sat on the back patio which had heaters and a TV. I believe the waitress was the owner and she brought us some complimentary bread and tomato mix that I can't remember the name of. A sort of twist on bruschetta. We ordered 2 small pies. They were pretty but for being smalls but absolutely delicious. They came out pretty quickly and probably the best white pie we've had in Arizona. All in all, fantastic experience all around. We'll definitely be coming back. read more

EVERYTHING about my experience here was spectacular. We found this place on accident! We had meant to eat at a place next door but decided on pizza instead. We were greeted so welcoming from the staff, and were offered to eat indoor or outdoor, which we sat outside. It looks small from the front but there's plenty of seating! Our pizza is was so delicious and you can taste the quality of it compared to other pizza restaurants. The only thing is their prices are high and on future visits, we will come back without our kids. It is kid friendly but the price will be higher. We could have easily ate two whole pizzas for a family of four! read more

We wanted to try a new Italian place that was cheap and within a 15 minute drive. This place caught our eye, and I'm so glad it did. It's located next to a Circle K, and it's pretty tiny (maybe 3 4-person tables and 4 two-person tables), but don't let that stop you. The food is delicious, and the service phenomenal for a place where it seems only two people are doing all of the cooking, serving, and bussing. They gave us this delicious appetizer to start, with a balsamic-y tomato dip thing served with pizza crust. It took all my self control to not eat it all, and share with the boy. I got the shrimp Romantica with a side house salad. The salad had a delightful vinaigrette, and the pasta had a deliciously simple sauce, sauteed mushrooms, and well-cooked, juicy shrimp. It was probably the best shrimp I've had with pasta in a long time. My s/o got the Hawaiian, which had a lovely thin crust. The cheese is not what you usually find on pizzas (embarrassed to say I don't know what kind of cheese), which he didn't particularly like, but I liked that whatever it was and the fact that the pizza wasn't smothered in the cheese really allowed the different flavors of the crust, sauce, and toppings to shine through. We ended the night with the creme brulee, which had strawberry syrup on top. This is the only part of the meal I wouldn't do again--but the again I don't like caramel or cream, so it's not surprise I didn't like it! (However, the s/o who loves creme brulee also didn't enjoy it that much). Next time I'm going to get the chocolate mousse cake. This place is probably going to become our new go-to for Italian date nights. Thanks Yelp for helping me find this place, and I hope I help more of you find it too! read more

At first glance the prices seem a bit steep but once the food arrives there is no issue at all. The 12" pizzas are a shareable meal (unlike some chain joint where they are basically a personal size.) The crust has the perfect char to give that nice flavor one wants in a great pie. Will absolutely be back. read more

I know I have reviewed Pizza A Metro twice already, but I am compelled to do another. Why? Because so many times I've thought I found this great place with the food, service, and feel of the place, hitting all the bullseye's, only to come back and wonder what the heck happened? And I'd leave so disappointed, never to return. Well a few days ago I went back to Pizza A Metro for the fourth time, and got my enthusiastic welcome. Service was once again amazing, and for me most importantly, the food was amazing. Check, check, check. And although from the outside you may hesitate to park and go in, please do. Once you walk in, you will find the ambiance, smells, and warm welcome will put a smile on your face, and when you leave you will have a very happy tummy. And yes, I'll be going back again soon. read more

Insanely high prices. They don't deliver. Pizza is mediocre at best. Phoenix is not known for good Neopolitan pizza. Because it's Phoenix, and not NYC, or New Haven. Pizza A Metro had a great opportunity to fix that. But as the great Robert DeNiro said in the film Copland, "YOU BLEW IT"! read more
