This was our first visit to Pizza A Metro but it won't be our last. We had the calamari appetizer and shared a lasagna and a small Supreme pizza. The food was very good and this maybe insignificant for some people but all three dishes were hot! They were not sitting under a heat lamp. Everything tastes freshly made and impressed by pizza crust. The service was attentive, never had to ask for water and although it was not that busy the time we went the food came out quickly. There were several takeout orders while we were there but we didn't feel neglected. Restaurant is small but cozy, and has a front and backyard patio. it is hard to find a good Italian restaurant in Phoenix so this was a great find! read more

This tiny (five tables) place in a nondescript location is a real hidden gem! The three of us had pizza, lasagna, and spaghetti bolognese. All were absolutely delicious, and the portions were generous enough for tomorrow's lunch! But the piece de resistance was dessert. Our server mentioned one that isn't on the menu, semifreddo. Vanilla semi frozen base mixed with a broken brittle of dark chocolate, almonds, and caramel, drizzled with caramel and dark chocolate. IT WAS FABULOUS! We will be going back! Best pizza I've ever had!! The wings are always crispy and juicy. The chicken piccata, penne pomodoro, penne alla vodka and shrimp romantica always make my mouth water. Staff is phenomenal! Margarit is extremely personable and ready to make you laugh, feels like home but better. Location is sketchy but when you step into pizza a metro it feels like you could be in a locally and well known mom and pop in Italy, the back patio is new and very much appreciated. They also added a glass garage door I haven't seen it open but I'm sure it really opens up the space. You'll never have a bad experience here. read more

If we could give this place zero stars that's what it would get. We spent $100 for pizza, wings and a tip and have to say it was a complete waste of money, time and gas. We drove all the way from Laveen to pick up pizza and wings from here based on the reviews we read. This was a birthday dinner and fell flat of so many things. The crust is thin like crackers, there was minimal sauce that tasted like just tomato, the cheese is some disgusting faux make of cheese I don't even think it's cheese (I don't even know how else to describe it), the sausage is not crumbled like others it's actual sausage links sliced thin, the mushrooms tasted like dirt and were soggy. The pizza wasn't even cooked all the way through once you got to the middle pieces and was still doughy. Now the wings, they were more baked than fried that they just put in the container and poured barbecue sauce all over. Not to mention they weren't cooked throughly. At the end of the night most of us had stomachaches from the pizza and wings from this place. The next morning most of us were nauseous with stomachaches. For sure it was not worth spending that much on pizza. So because it's the "metro" pizza and wood fired stove it's worth $50 no it's not and wings are $20 not worth it either. Should have stuck with our local pizzeria for half the price we get just as much and it tastes much better. Overall we do NOT recommend this place. To be honest we're just overall disappointed and upset. We don't mine paying for it, if it's worth it and this wasn't worth it. This is one birthday dinner that we have to re-do, which means more money to fix this. read more

The arugula and prosciutto pizza was the wrong thing to get. It was not good. When the pizza came out, the prosciutto was cold, like it was just thrown on there after the pizza cooked. I could not believe it. The crust was good, and after reading all the reviews, extremely disappointed. read more

I love the fact that the clientel varies from business professionals to painter/construction workers, obviously with a taste for good Italian. The Italian Wedding soup was delicious. With sliced meatballs and a poached egg..... it's a meal in itself. The complimentary pizza crust with tomatoes in vinegar was a very nice touch. For my 2nd dish I ordered the Caprese salad and it was delicious as well. Fresh- plentiful mozzarella on top a bed of greens and tomatoes. Yum!! So much food I had to take a bag home, oh Shucks! Great oven fire pizza I've had for a long time. Got to try them all. Family loves this place, an sorta of a hidden gem on locations. Our favorite restaurant! This is always the place chosen for Holidays, Birthday, any special occasion or just as a treat. The owners couldn't be more welcoming and their passion for cooking will always keep us coming back for more. We've tried most of their menu and it's spectacular. The appetizer of warm bread w/ special dish for dipping is just the perfect starting dish. Their salads, Mussels, Calamari couldn't be better. I always get a Italian Margarita (Sangria or other mixed drink), The Chicken Parmigiana w/ homemade pasta, I would choose this as my last meal. My husband will order the Pasta Bolognese or any of their other pasta dishes. Desserts- all delicious! They are the treats on top of the best treat for lunch or dinner. The crust and the wood fire oven make this place as good as it gets. Fresh mozz and very good sauce seal the deal. Bianco is fine but this is better and at a fraction of the price. They also have an impressive wine list (with very good prices and options by the glass) for a place with only a handful of tables. The patio also looks nice but I'll wait for fall to check that out. One of the best Italian restaurants in town! OMG! You have to give a chance, listas start with their metro Pizza huge pizza, great for parties/gatherings you can customize it- we got couple for our engagement party. Their pasta is amazing, not greasy, cooked just perfect, multiple options to chose from (you can't go wrong). They have great seafood selection and it's always fresh. Honestly I could go on and on about their food and drinks; however I have a bigger shout out to this amazing restaurant -when covid started it was hard to find produce, gloves, sanitizer, etc. and Pizza A Metro was there for their community, they had options for you to shop there, from produce to cleaning supplies/toilet paper (they did not increase prices to make profits) and for that they can count on us to bring business to them. My husband and I had been here years ago when we lived on that side of town. Clearly there was a change in ownership over the years. It looks a bit long in the tooth inside, but what we were really shocked to find were the prices. We eat out often and know what things cost these days, but the prices here surpassed some of the best pizza places in town which not only offer better pizza, but a nicer dining experience. The pizza is good, but not great. Nearly $25 for an average pizza is exorbitant, but what really set us off was the charge we noticed when we got home for using our credit card, a "non-cash" charge. Sorry, but that is the cost of business we would have assumed was built into the already stratospheric prices. Perhaps you need a rethink of your business model. read more
