First thing first, the vibe very cool: the basement, amazing decor, cozy booths and tables, quiet! I loved it all. Our server was so friendly and made good recommendations and overall just awesome. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Our waitress was great the entire evening - appropriately checking in on us while also cognizant that we were having a meeting. I started off the with zero proof spritzer and that was very good! Reminiscent of an Aperol spritz, but NA. Our table got the seasonal grilled flatbread and the curry fries to share. The flatbread was excellent, best thing I had there all night. The curry fries on its own was very bland! Not sure I could taste salt much less curry. But dipped in truffle aioli and spicy mayo made it very good. There were no vegetarian entrees (not even a token one) on the menu, but they did have a Mac and cheese side. I asked our waitress if I could get that as an entree and she was very sweet and confirmed with her manager and kitchen that this was possible. Well... the Mac and cheese had bacon in it... I was told that they don't put bacon in it usually, so I'm not entirely sure what happened. I had also ordered the house salad with a sun dried tomato vinaigrette and that was fine. Not bad, but nothing stellar either. They were nice enough to comp the mac and cheese (that was taken back after I had two bites) the salad, and the fries, which was very nice of them. They did also offer to make me something else, but again - a pretty limited vegetarian menu, so I declined. I did get the chocolate cake to go and it was very grainy. I love chocolate cake, I'll eat it in almost any form but this tasted stale and had such an odd texture. It reminded me of grocery store cake. Overall a disappointing meal and I won't be back willingly, but two stars for our stellar waitress who was clearly very sorry about the bacon and the flatbread that was very good!

A lot of the ingredients are sourced nearby in Nebraska, Iowa, etc., so I'm given the impression that a lot of the stuff there is very fresh. And what we ordered sure tasted that way. We had the tartare, house charcuterie, Morgan ranch wagyu ribeye, and beef cheek from a ranch in Kansas (no longer on the menu, I think the ranch was called Creekstone Farm). The beef cheek was super delicious - melt in da mouth buttery smooth with great flavor. Tasted like bone marrow with a small amount of pot roast beef mixed in. The ribeye was cooked to a perfect medium rare and was the best steak I had in Omaha this year and last. We will for sure be visiting again next year.

A friendly, loquacious fellow quickly showed me to a booth, then retreated to the bar. I was actually seated in the bar area, but I could hear the noise of diners on the other side of the wall. A quick glance later confirmed another dining area, plus outdoor seating and an apparent balcony that also had tables. The menu has a lot of choices but only one jumped out at me as vegan--the black bean burger. The waitress asked if I was ok with cheese on it, which I was. I also ordered a serving of French onion soup, which just seemed like it would hit the spot. For the small amount of diners in the space, it took a bit longer than expected to get my lunch. The soup was already cool enough to eat, which surprised me. The burger was also not piping hot which makes me think the food was sitting out for awhile before it got to me. However, that didn't stop me from enjoying it. The cheesy crouton on the soup was stretchy with melted cheese atop lots of onions and flavorful broth. The burger had onions, lettuce and tomato slices dressing it, and had a bit of spiciness that was just right. I had coffee too, and it was good. This place is far off from my usual haunts, so likely I won't be back, unless I happen to be in the area again.

Our steak dish was a miss but my date had been here numerous times (he's spoke about this being his favorite place for months) and said it wasn't characteristic of it. We let the server know so she could let the kitchen know something might've been different and she promptly removed it; not our intention but appreciated. I think it was just a fluke too since everything else was great. We'll be back!

The pork was tender and flavorful, and the salmon had a great crust without overpowering the fish. My favorite part may have been the sweet pea and lemon risotto. I can't stop thinking about the Brussels sprouts. They were so good I'd go back just to order a plate of those.
