I'm giving this three stars because I went there with a large group, most of whom really liked it, and because I'm not that fond of their best sellers--ribs and Sicilian steak--which may make my rating them a bit unfair. My wife thought the ribs were nothing special, though, and my chicken dish was bland and soupy. Our waitress was very good, and the servers in general dealt well with a group of cranky old people. My son is fond of ribs, so it is conceivable that we might try it again sometime when he's in town, if only as a break from the ultra-expensive French restaurants he prefers. I don't expect to go back on my own, though, given how many restaurants in Milwaukee I like better. read more

On Monday, November 14, 2016, I revisited Pitch's Restaurant and purchased their regular rib dinner and was severely let down by it. The ribs were much smaller than 1995 and were tough, fatty, gristly, and chewy and the sauce was not the same and was far inferior too. The hash browns were not the same as 1995 and were soggy, burnt, and chewy and the salad was stale and the bread was not like it was. The service there was just adequate but the staff was somewhat rude when I tried to converse with them in a friendly way as they ignored me. I do not care for being treated that way as a customer paying $25.00 for a rib dinner that used to be $10.00 and altogether way better by the way. These dry and gray and chewy sauce-deprived ribs severely sucked and so did the service too and this former regular patron will never be back! Contacting Pitch's Restaurant was easy by dialing (414) 272-9313 and talking to their manager Richie who earlier greeted me from the bar. Talking to Richie was easy after explaining the situation to a waitress who told me of other complaints similar to mine about the ribs had come in. Richie quickly refunded my $25.00 purchase but did it wordlessly as if he was offended by doing so after I drove there twice equaling 20 miles. read more

Food was adequate, drinks were pretty good, but the service was lackluster and borderline rude. Would only go back to the bar area, if at all. read more

Had your chicken dinner at summer fest. Chicken was over cooked and dry. Cheesy fries very soggy.

Been coming here for years and this place continues to defy time. Easily Milwaukee's best supper club, their ribs and Sicilian steaks are hands down the best in town. And the prices can't be beat. Used to like their super crispy hash browns a lot more, but now I kinda find that they have a little too many onions in them. If you go, have a drink at the bar and chat up Jimmy or whoever's behind the pine. Ask for menus and order at the bar. They'll let you know when your first course is on the table... read more

Great place. My dad and I went I had their special filet and my dad had ribs. I don't normally like ribs but I'm thinking of going back here to get some (that says something) server was friendly and sweet. read more

This place definitly has an old school supper club vibe. There were a bunch of guys who knew eachother and the bar tender. It was funny to listen to them all banter and drink. There is a very limited beer selection here; the bar only had Blue Moon on tap, everything else was in bottles. The food here was a little more pricy that I would have expected but over all it was reasonable. I got the rib sandwhich and it was good. Nothing fancy or increadible but it was solid. Over all this is kind of a fun place to check out but there's nothing super memorable about it. I am gald I gave it a go but probably not going to head back there unless I have a compelling reason. read more

I went to this restaurant last fall with my mom. We first enjoyed the breaded ravioli! It was so yummy! (We got four with marinara). We then ordered the dinner meals! Boy do they come with lots of food. My mom got the T-Bone steak and I got the the Rib and Shrimp! We got soup and salad with our order and pasta! It was so much food! I could hardly eat the main meal because the soup and pasta filled me up! (good portion sizes)! The service was good, our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu! The decor of the place; however, is extremely tacky and ugly. I'm not sure if they always have that much junk hanging around, but they over do it! Overall, the food is amazing and great service! read more

I love Pitch's. The cozy supper club feel is relaxing and it has a timeless feel to it. Try the Orange Roughy or the Filet and Shrimp dinner.. read more

The service was great. It balanced out the fact that the food was a perfect selection for those suffering from high blood pressure because salt and seasoning were definitely not used. I recommend observing who is in the "house" before opting to choose the house special. Just jesting a little. All and all the food could have been better especially since they take the literary license to categorize their food as famous. I think they do some things well you just have to find that niche. Before you take my word for it, try it out. I don't advise against going. It's worth a test run. The pricing is set well enough where you don't feel bad if you don't totally enjoy your meal. read more

This place is an East Side institution. It's seriously old school and I love it. Go on a Friday and get the pan fried perch~ now that's what I'm talking about! If you're feeling especially hungry, go for the perch & ribs combo~ oh yeah! read more

Another East side Gem. Hands down the best ribs and steaks!! I actually love the old time decor... A place where when you walk in the door, you are part of the family. read more

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Milwaukee. I love the old school supper club feel. It's a Gem, great food and not too expensive. read more

We've been here on several different occasions and are never disappointed. We were here last night to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. After reviewing the many menu options, he went with his standard selection - the trio of a sirloin steak, shrimp and ribs. I usually get the ribs (some of the best in the city), but this time I wanted to try something new and had the chicken calbrese. My boyfriend's entree was to perfection. The steak was cooked to his liking and the ribs and shrimp were spot on. He came short of licking the plate clean. My chicken entree was just as delightful. I got the junior serving, which was plenty for me. The pan fried chicken was juicy and tender, with a flavorful sherry wine sauce. The chicken was topped with sautéed green and red peppers and mushrooms. A very flavorful dish I will be having again. Entrees come with a choice of soup or light salad (with house made dressings), and a choice of potato, pasta or vegetable. Both of us had baked potatoes with seasoned sour cream on the side. Drinks were also up there. Old Fashions are popular and very good. The wine selection is also quite good. Neither of us had room for dessert, though they did look very appealing. It was pretty busy on this particular Saturday night, but we didn't have to wait. And we always get wonderful service. The place does have a bit of an old supper club feel and we did feel like we were among the younger ones there, but you can't beat the quality and prices at this little gem on the East Side. read more

This is the quintessential supper club! The decor is old, classic and I hope it never changes! When we walked into the bar Frank Sinatra was playing. It is an escape from the present day fast rush cell phone is more important than who you are sharing a meal with! My properly mixed brandy old fashioned sweet was made with bitters, not a mix. Our rumacki was delicious and the bacon was crisp, didn't need the mustard that came with it. The steak was melt in your mouth perfect! The wait staff has been there forever and are so charming. The only reason I didn't rate a 5 was because I love my supper clubs in wisconsin and they were missing the relish tray, a must! It was a long slow meal that we were able to eat and enjoy conversation. If you don't understand what a supper club is you won't get why Pitch's is special! read more

I was expecting a great experience. Everyone talks about it. Not so much. If you like to have a lot of old people sitting at separate tables and carrying on conversations, loudly than this is the place for you. My husband had the ribs. He said that they were awful and covered with what he thought was ketchup, which was cold. He also had cold minestrone soup. My food was okay- a steak and baked potato, but for less I could have gotten the same thing anywhere else. And whatever you do, do NOT go to the bathroom! the vents above the toilet stalls, in both bathrooms, are filthy with dust! Just gross. The brandy old fashioneds were go, however. Will not be returning. read more

An interesting little supper club. The staff are very attentive and friendly. I had a small Cesar salad which was just ok because there was too much dressing on it. Then I had the cheeseburger and my friend had the Sicilian burger. We both agreed that they were very good burgers but not the best in town (as the menu proclaims). Overall worth a try but we probably won't return. read more

This place reminds me of a supper club in Northern WI. Huge portions, friendly staff, and great hand stirred grasshoppers for dessert. We had the fish fry, ribs, and Sicilian steak and all were great. read more

Interesting atmosphere. Food not so much. I would stick to cocktails at the bar and N OT venture into the dining room

Always on the hunt for a restaurant that serves great bbq, I decided to give Pitch's a try for Father's Day. Having heard that Pitch's has a supper club atmosphere I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. It had a cozy atmosphere and it was neat and clean, something you don't expect at an older restaurant. Pitch's tout's itself as having nationally famous barbeque baby back ribs so I knew what I was having when I got there. I had thought my father would order ribs too since I picked out the restaurant for him, but he ordered T-bone Steak. My mother ordered the ribs and chicken. My husband and I were the only ones to order the full rack of ribs. The appetizers we ordered before the main course were good. I particulary enjoyed the Rumaki, water chestnuts wrapped in bacon. The mozzarella sticks and Shredded onion rings were also good. Given a choice of soup or salad, all but my father ordered salad. The salads were a nice size and tasty. My father enjoyed the shrimp soup. When our main course arrived, it looked really appetizing. Our ribs were meaty and had a nice robust flavor. My father ordered his steak medium-well but it came well done. My mother was happy with her ribs and chicken. I would say Pitch's does not have the best ribs in town, but they are better then some of the other places that claim to have good ribs. The food at Pitch's is good, the atmosphere is pleasant and the service is outstanding. I would not only go back, I would recommend it to anyone. read more

We have been busy with work and invited family for dinner, we ordered take out at Pitch's and ordered the full rib dinners with hash browns and salads. We all enjoyed Pitch's rib dinners!!!! The ribs and sauce were very tasty, the hash browns were golden brown and the salads freshly made with tasty peppercorn dressing. We highly recommend ribs at Pitch's:-) read more

Pitch's is the greatest place for ribs, I also love eating appetizers at the bar. Chicken strips in garlic butter, and some bread is awesome with a Bacardi and coke. read more

This was a very disappointing dining experiences. We were a group of 8 and one diner had to ask for his salad 3 times. I ordered a martini up with olives. My second drink came with a twist, not olives. The waitress asked if I wanted to just take the twist out of the glass and she would bring me some olives! A good waitress should know better! I ordered a hamburger medium rare. When my food arrived it was burnt, even the hashbrowns were black. After trying to wave her down about 6 times I told her my food was way overcooked. She then asked me if I would like to "scrape the hashbrowns onto my bread plate and nibble on them while I waited." My next burger was barely acceptable and the hashbrowns were still burnt. It was a stressful meal. My companions also had issues with food and drink. There was no table conversation because one or more of us had to try to get food and service issues resolved throughout the entire meal. Avoid Pitch's. read more

Great fish fry and old fashioneds. As a very critical fish fry guy I am a tough grader. I give it a 7.8/10. The best fish fry I can make myself is a 7/10 so if that tells you anything. Service was excellent. Fish wasn't too soggy like some places and the breading was thin. Only downfall was the breading didn't have a ton of flavor. Because of the great service, 4/5 stars became 5/5. read more

By far, this is the worst restaurant I have ever been to. My wife and I ordered typical dinners and waited for the food to show up. We were given breadsticks and soup. Then, we were given a bill for the full dinner. We never received our dinners, but we did receive multiple threats for not paying a bill for food which we never received. The restaurant called the police and so did we. When the police arrived, officer Lopez (badge number 2139) of the Milwaukee Police Department and his partner firmly grabbed their police batons and aggressively implied that we needed to pay the bill for a meal we never ate. When trying to reason with the officers they each put their hands on their firearms and officer Lopez said "You can either pay the bill and complain on things like Yelp, or you can each get a $300 fine." My wife was too afraid to deal with a confrontation with armed Milwaukee police officers, so she threw down her credit card. I can only imagine that the food is so horribly awful that the restaurant would rather brow-beat folks into paying for theoretical meals, rather than actually serving them anything worth eating. read more

Wow! my favorite ribs ever and the steaks were perfect. Service was wonderful, you can tell someone cares about the service they profide here. read more

Walking into Pitch's is walking into a time warp. It's a classic Milwaukee Supper Club dating to 1942. Everything from the wallpaper to the lighting to the bartender and the waitresses' uniforms says this is a place where time stopped 40 years ago...and that's just fine. We started with cocktails. At $4.50-5.00 apiece, they were a bargain..not the fancy craft cocktails available elsewhere, but just perfect for the time and place. Pitch's serves ribs, chicken, fish, steaks and chops, all with a Sicilian influence. We had the ribs, Chicken Calabrese, and pan fried cod. The breading on the fish and chicken was light and delightfully herbed. The ribs were tender, with a slightly sweet and tangy sauce. Everything was tasty in a down home sort of way. For dessert, we had spumoni and key lime pie. I found the ke lime to be one of the better pies I've had. The graham crust was perfect, and the pie had the right degree of lime flavor. Plus, to the chef's credit, no green food coloring was added to the filling. All told, Pitch's is a throwback to a time gone by, but it's easy to see why they have been in business for more than 70 years at the same location. Good food, good service, no pretention. read more

The drinks were terrible. We thought we were drinking ice water instead of cocktails. The food was mediocre at best. I had the pan fried perch. There were three very small pieces of perch on my plate and hash browns that were completely burnt on one side. The coleslaw was flavorless. My husband had the pan fried perch/rib combo. He had the same amount of perch and a generous portion of ribs for only $3.00 more than my dinner. His hash browns were also burnt. The only reason I gave then two stars instead of one is because the service was excellent. We won't be returning. After spending over $50.00 we were very disappointed. read more

Waited 45+ minutes for sandwich when we asked if we be eating soon waitress checked and reported back that would be a few more minutes. She never offered an explanation or apology. There are too many other places with better service and food that is every bit as good. read more

Pretty much the same review and experience of Dave. Was also there 11/14/16. Ribs were gross. Small and extremely tough. Service seemed put off by our presence. Almost had to beg for additional bread with our 4 dinners. Had 2 cokes with the meal, $3 a piece, was never offered a refill, and were actually charged for 3 of them. Cheap and weird paper sections in place of table clothes. Do not ruin your fond memory of this place like I did, just stay away. read more

I wish we had read the reviews before going to pitch's. a full rack of ribs should weigh between 1 1/2 to 3 lbs. not here...maybe 10 oz if you're lucky. very dry...little taste...and really...they consider that bbq sauce...on what planet? the 8 oz filet...in WHAT universe...as far as I know filet has VERY little fat so it doesn't shrink when cooked. the filet my husband had could not have possibly been more than 4 oz if that. I've made 8 oz filets at home and we can't even finish them. not here...you'll walk away hungry. ragu jar sauce is better than whatever they put on the pasta side total ewwwww. cocktails...hmmmm...I just hate paying $6 plus for a drink that's measured with a shot glass...and really $10 for a glass of crappy wine in a short glass is just outrageous. go elsewhere people...this was a HUGE disappointment. I noticed someone posted about the restrooms...I was so disgusted with the filth I even went back to the ladies room with my cell and took a picture of the filth on the exhaust fan...REALLY don't they know how to use a vacuum cleaner? disgusting read more

Horrible Food and slow service! Went there for the first time for dinner for my birthday with a group of 20 people on 10/21/17. This was a reserved event so owner/manager knew in advance about this. It took about two hours to get our food and after that wait the food tasted horrible! Half of the guests returned their food!! It was literally embarrassing!! The ribs had a nasty sauce and shrimp was not seasoned at all. 3 of the guests had steak and it smelled horrible (maybe a spoiled)!! They all returned their steak as well. The manager never came to check with our party one time. Even though it was busy he should have taken the time to ask me how it was going!! Outback and even Cracker Barrel check in with their guests and their food is good and half the price!!!!!! The manager should have been notified that dinners were being returned, and he should have come to see what the problem was and apologize!!! This never happened. I had to ask to speak with him and tell him the problem, and then was told that his other guests had no complaints just our group!!!! One of my guests got sick after leaving restaurant and threw up. Another guest tried to call owner several times later that week, but only got hung up on!!! This is very bad customer service!!! I have no idea how they have been in business this long!!! If you like good tasting food, please do not go to Pitch's!!! read more
