Whether it's due to poor installation, poor-quality materials, or both, the flooring has not held up as it should for such a significant investment. Given the amount the previous owners paid, this level of durability is extremely disappointing. We now have to replace the floors much sooner than anyone should reasonably expect. We will be using a company that stands behind its workmanship and products with a warranty and quality that extends well beyond five years. Based on the condition of these floors after only five years, I would not recommend Simply Floors. A few photos below but it's all over the main floor you can tell they were not installed properly as they are all popping up. And yes I know the warranty was not transferable I just wanted to post so others know the quality to expect before making such a large investment!

I can't say enough good things about Gary and his customer service, he was able to do the in-home estimate and measurements very quickly and came on a Sunday so we could talk about our carpet options. Before having Gary and Carpet Mart come over to do the estimate, I had another local carpet company come and do an in-home estimate, and while their representative was super nice, I wanted to have other options and wanted to be able to feel some nylon carpet options (the other company did not show me ANY nylon options! As someone completely new to the idea of buying carpet, I was appalled to find out from Google after my very lengthy appointment with the other company that nylon can be a better choice for durability). Anywho - Gary brought over the specific brand nylon carpet samples I had found from some internet searches plus a TON of other similar options - both in nylon and polyester (for a variety of textures, softness levels, and price). Gary was always very upfront with pricing (all samples had the price clearly on the front, the other company had NO prices listed and no break down of any costs) and clearly explained everything to us as well. We decided to move forward with getting our entire house carpeted with Carpet Mart and more and couldn't be more pleased with the results! We have a two story home and the stairs look absolutely perfect. They had a two man team and they were efficient, polite, and did great work. I saw a review on here about someone having to help them lift the carpet, and I can't imagine their team doing that - trust me, they did all the heavy lifting and removed all the old carpet as well. On a side note, in between receiving the official estimate for the carpet and officially moving forward with Carpet mart, I did request an official estimate from the other carpet company for the exact same carpet we ended up purchasing (I was curious!). The other company offered a "Free installation" promo - let me tell you this was absolute lies!! The other carpet company estimate was nearly a $1,000 more, and that was with their "Free installation". I did e-mail Gary prior to installation about any promotions for free installation and he wrote me an awesome and honest e-mail saying nothing in life is free, and that anyone offering free installation will just tack the price onto the carpet, and he was more than correct. I really appreciated his response and his humor, while also not being offended by me asking. TL;DR - You won't be disappointed with Carpet Mart's quality and installation, and Gary will make your project that much easier. Thank you!! We love our Phenix carpet!

They offer a great selection of carpet without being overwhelming. The price of the carpet included both padding and installation, and they use their own installers instead of third-party contractors. The order came in earlier than expected, and it was finished within two weeks The two-man crew was efficient, clean, and very respectful. They did a beautiful job, and we were particularly impressed with the stairs; they look fantastic! I will definitely use Simply Floors again and highly recommend them to others.

As one of the other reviewers said, these guys use subcontractors of varying quality. They had to…read morerefinish the floor 3 times because the owner insisted on sending the same crew back each time (which makes sense if using a fixed-price sub - keeps their profit intact). I communicated my concerns professionally (and almost apologetically) with the owner as we went, but I'm not sure that any of them were addressed directly with the crew - rather they were just given basic instructions at the start of each day to fix the problems from the last go 'round. I'll give them credit for trying to make it right, and the floor looks a lot better than it did when they started, but it still wasn't 100% at the end and they didn't want to listen to any more complaints. A list of items specific issues that as far as I can tell were never communicated back to the crew: - The first thing the crew leader did was take a dump in my bathroom, without asking, and made this a daily ritual. - They didn't bother to cover anything up before sanding - no sheathing between rooms, no covers over the vents - so dust was everywhere in the house. At least I had the good sense to turn off the HVAC, but still had to change the air filters several times before they finished the job. - They sanded/buffed the carpet, trashing it where the carpet meets the hardwood. - Stain was applied in some places across grain / boards rather than same direction leading to stripes (1st attempt), and inconsistently leading to dark splotches (2nd attempt). - They used my ladder (from the garage) without asking. - They left gobs of topcoat around trim and puddling elsewhere. - They did not take the time to use filler properly after the second attempt - there are dark spots around nails, knots, and where sanding was rough. - Hand sanding was quite rough in several areas leading to dark stain, especially around trim, cabinets, toilet, etc. And they didn't thoroughly clean or screen before coating in several places, leading to dirt and debris in the finish. - Stain spatter was left on the wall from brush work and flinging wet towels. The sinks were a left an absolute mess. - There was no real cleanup to speak of and patches of grass are dead in the front yard where they cleaned stain off their tools and equipment. - The "suicide cord" they were using to connect to 240V was a fire and safety hazard. After attempting to share my last round of concerns (not asking for them to redo it again but rather just trying to share some of the issues for future improvement), Anthony told me to stop looking so closely and asked, "You gonna blast us on the internet?" indicating his level of concern. For a website that touts their high level of professionalism and reputation, the crew did not reflect it. If I wasn't a professional contractor myself, then this might have been a traumatic experience. And if I knew the crew and could have hired them directly, then I would have undoubtedly paid half as much... but then they might not have redone it 3 times (especially because I would have kicked them out after the second attempt). I never asked for a discount, and one was certainly never offered. I'm leaving 2 stars because on Yelp that means it "could've been better" but for the price I paid to go with the "pros" I regret not giving one of the other bidders a chance.

About a year ago we hired Floors Free to take out carpet and put in hardwood floors in two rooms to match existing hardwood in our kitchen. Bryan and team also refinished the existing kitchen hardwood and stained all three rooms to match. The process was unbelievably smooth and the quote was extremely reasonable. Communication was easy and the project was done in no time, before we even moved in. The floors are beautiful and we remark all the time how they totally transformed our house. Bryan's team matched the existing hardwood perfectly - we actually can't remember where it started and stopped. The work is just fantastic and we plan to call Bryan again when we re-do some other flooring throughout the house. Then most recently, Bryan and his team put in our kitchen backsplash (previously we had an adhesive "tile" until we were ready for real tile). After initially starting work with another more expensive company that we fired (dodged a bullet!), we remembered that Bryan's company did tiling. We were so happy we contacted him and wished we had sooner - quote came back next day and we were able to get work scheduled within two weeks! Bryan told us his tile pro was an artist and he truly was. The work was clean and took much less than two days. Bryan worked with the tile we had previously purchased, and we supplied tile adhesive and the grout - we loved that we bought them ourselves and were not up-charged for supplies. Thomas the tile pro was in and out - he was so friendly and obviously proud of his work. We wouldn't hesitate to contact Bryan again for more work. Reasonable prices, easy to get ahold, completely flexible - great all around. Floors Free has taken our house from bland to beautiful!

Brian refinished the red oak flooring in my 1962 home that I was beautifying for sale. The floors…read morehad never been refinished. My main concern was water damage from a waterbed which warped the boards. I was also concerned that the sanding would leave a ton of dust everywhere. Their "dustless" sanding system really works. And the refinished floors were beautiful. Brian left me 1/2 gallon of poly to finish the raised floor (stairway) of the front, coat closet. That was enough poly to top coat all the doors and door frames I was refinishing. I screwed up at the end of my woodwork finishing and left the lid off the poly. I used a higher end stain for refinishing and figured their poly would work just as well to finish the job (just the FRONT DOOR!). It didn't. My "higher end" poly was awful to work with and the end finish wasn't acceptable to me. Brian praised the poly that he uses and that the finish won't yellow. I will praise his poly as a great finish to work with. In general, Brian was very respectful of my house, did a beautiful job, and uses quality products. I very definitely recommend him and would use him again.

I have been wanting to write a recommendation for Independent Hardwood Floors for a while now as I…read morehad the work completed back in February 2020. Due to some unforeseen health issues, I have not been able until now to get this review completed. Brian, the owner is the one that does all the work from start to finish. He is a real craftsman and cares greatly about the quality of his work. I had water damage from a leaking ice maker and about 14 boards needed replacing completely. Brian had to cut out the old boards and replace with new unfinished Oak boards. Brian also suggested using a different stain than the one we had decided to use. Boy, was he right. The stain he recommended was a much better choice. Brian was always on time each morning and worked each day until each step in his process was finished. Brian had to make several other repairs to the floors before sanding and staining all the main floor. Brian was extremely careful not to get any stain on our new carpets. We couldn't be happier with his quality of work, craftsmanship and dedication to making sure we were 100% satisfied. Brain is easy to work with and willing to handle any additional items, or areas that might need special/extra attention too during the job. And as an added bonus, his quote was one of the better quotes we received for our job. Thanks Brian for the fantastic job!
