Our red oak floors were magically transformed by Alex, who was prompt, efficient and even went the extra mile to help with a few squeaky spots. We really debated the final stain/finish, but ended up just leaving them as is - which they called "invisible" and it completely transformed the space. Overall, the floors look great. It's unfortunate that one spot and bad communication ruined the experience. There was a hole in the laundry area that they filled with wood putty. It wasn't flat and looked bad so I contacted the owner. He's pretty responsive and I heard nothing back that day. So I emailed the next day asking "what can be done to fix the hole." His response was it shrunk and that the "guys told me they didn't worry about much because it's exactly where dryer is. It won't cover it?" The response didn't really sit well with me. We're hoping to relocate the W/D one day but more importantly we're paying good money and all the floors should be done right. On Thursday he informed me they would fix it (make it flat). It needed to be done before Wednesday when we have movers coming. He said Monday. I never confirmed it. I was waiting to hear back the cost of something else (which I wish I never asked about because I think it muddled the issues). I didn't hear back about the other thing and I didn't hear about any specific time or a window on Monday. I assumed they were flaking on us. However, I received a text message late Monday morning that they would be there in 2-3 hours. I wasn't able to and I was fairly short with him about the whole thing. I don't think you should expect a customer to wait around all day and sorry I don't want to leave a key for someone to come by at some point. His response? "Currently we are trying to help you out. To be honest I don't appreciate you blaming us." The owner later apologized. read more

The high rating online is well deserved. James, Ivan, and Alex were all professional, considerate, efficient, honest and worked to make sure I was happy with their work. We originally we're only going to sand down our wood floors and add a protective coat to the natural wood but we found that after sanding, the wood had some damage that the dark stain was covering up. The team worked with me and my schedule to find a stain that hid that damage while still being significantly lighter than our almost black brown floors from before. They fix a couple of damaged wood spots and got the job done in the time quoted, despite needing to now stain the floors as well. All prices were upfront and reasonable and they made sure to check with me before doing anything that might be extra. They even came back to fix a tiny spot a couple weeks later to make sure we were satisfied. I also appreciated that I was notified if they were running a bit behind so I wasn't sitting around waiting. Awesome company. This is a pass due review, but James and his crew re-sanded our floor back in September. I must say our floor still looks beautiful today and receive constant compliments from guests. I got quotes from a couple of different contracts, but we ended up choosing The Flooring Artists because: 1. James was very responsive, usually getting back to me within couple of hours 2. He came by and give me a quote the same day that I called him. I think this is more luck then anything, he didn't have appointment in the afternoon so he just drop by after our call. 3. They were the only contracts that could get the flooring done within a couple weeks, all other contracts that I called had a wait list and 4. Definitely one of the most important factor for all of us, which is the price, was very reasonable. I must say they did a really good job, but what made me really glad that I went with them is that they really listen and take initiative to try to make the customer happy. So, the job took three days. I came by on the first day to see how things are going and to see if the natural color of the wood is something that I liked, since I didn't want any stain (coloring) for the floor. Glad that I did, because I didn't like it, it was too pink! I told James that I was a little hesitant about the floor color being too pink. Steve, one of James crew member and the person who actually did the sanding for my house, added a tiny bit of coloring in the finishing gloss to take the pink edge off. We recently used the services of The Flooring Artists for the second time. We bought a new home that we did some remodeling on and required replacement of damaged engineered flooring planks. Eugene and Constantine did an amazing job given what had to be done. I wish I could post pictures for you. Imagine 4 rectangular holes each 1.5 x 2.5 feet in the floor (pillars were removed). They had to figure out which boards to take out and how long so that the floor would look "normal" with the rest of the room. The flooring has some variation plank to plank that they had to deal with and choose ones that would blend in. The planks have a very small bevel with dark stain that they had to reproduce on any boards they cut. You cannot tell where they did the replacement/repair. We have now worked with the three brothers (Igor, Constantine and Eugene) on our two projects. They are very good at what they do, are friendly, courteous, careful and friendly. Ask for these guys to do your work when you talk with James who is also great to work with. read more

I called a bunch of places in Denver and some places gave me a SIX MONTH WAIT (!!), The Flooring Artists were able to fit us into their schedule, worked diligently and the end product was great. Two quick anecdotes - 1. we were pulling up the carpet in one room and finishing the hardwood underneath. In that process, we found a beam where an old wall was where we needed to patch the hardwood. I sent a pic to James and he quoted the fix and it was done excellently - all done within 24 hours. 2. I guesstimated the square feet for the quote. Upon completion of the job, James called us and let us know that the sq ft was actually slightly less than he had quoted and he lowered our amount owed.
