Great job. Clean, fast, beautiful. Worked with me to get a color that worked with all the other colors and woods in the home. Very friendly and communicative crew. Kept me informed at each step. Answered every question with honest answers. Even rescheduled last minute when I came down with Covid. Very pleased with the results

This was the area with damage. James and team feathered in the matching wood. Results were incredible.

We had hardwood floor water damage from an upstairs bathroom leak. James came out quickly - gave us a fair bid / time frame / expectations. His team was great to work with too, they did their best to work around my families schedule and needs. I strongly recommend these guys.

True artisans of their craft. My job required both refinishing and new flooring and they knocked it out of the park. Can't even tell the where the old ends and the new one starts they did such a good job with with the finish. Absolutely would hire again although with the amazing job they did I trust I won't be needing them again any time soon!

A spot that originally had yellowing wood and mismatched wood types.

They did an amazing job on our flooring. They refinished the flooring and replaced mismatched boards. It looks amazing after they finished, and they were super helpful, responsive, and knowledgeable throughout the whole job. Would recommend them and absolutely would hire them again.

I can say enough good things about The Flooring Artists. They installed about 400 sf of new wood floor and laced it in to an existing room. They then sanded and stained all 800 sf with a water based Bona stain. James and his team were very professional, and kept us informed through the whole process. They kept the work area very clean throughout the process. They were very patient as we selected a color, which was in all honesty the most difficult part of this job. We are more than thrilled with the results. I would definitely recommend this business.

Overall, the floors look great. It's unfortunate that one spot and bad communication ruined the experience. There was a hole in the laundry area that they filled with wood putty. It wasn't flat and looked bad so I contacted the owner. He's pretty responsive and I heard nothing back that day. So I emailed the next day asking "what can be done to fix the hole." His response was it shrunk and that the "guys told me they didn't worry about much because it's exactly where dryer is. It won't cover it?" The response didn't really sit well with me. We're hoping to relocate the W/D one day but more importantly we're paying good money and all the floors should be done right. On Thursday he informed me they would fix it (make it flat). It needed to be done before Wednesday when we have movers coming. He said Monday. I never confirmed it. I was waiting to hear back the cost of something else (which I wish I never asked about because I think it muddled the issues). I didn't hear back about the other thing and I didn't hear about any specific time or a window on Monday. I assumed they were flaking on us. However, I received a text message late Monday morning that they would be there in 2-3 hours. I wasn't able to and I was fairly short with him about the whole thing. I don't think you should expect a customer to wait around all day and sorry I don't want to leave a key for someone to come by at some point. His response? "Currently we are trying to help you out. To be honest I don't appreciate you blaming us." The owner later apologized.

I bought a condo in February that had hard wood floors, but they were ugly & needed a refinish. I wanted something unique. James went over multiple options. My floors were sanded down & a few samples were done di I could get an idea of the result. I had a custom color (gray) done using Pallman Magic oil. The floors are beautiful & not something anyone else has. It is a very natural look & feels great under foot. It is also easy to care for. It is everything I hoped for. I am grateful that time was taken with me so I could make a decision that worked for me. I am dealing with water damage in a section of the floor from an outside leak & don't want anyone else to rich my floors. I intend on getting them back here to restore. Oh & I should mention, the technique used gets better looking with wear. I'm in love.

We can't say enough about our beautiful new Brazilian Cherry floors in our family room, upstairs landing and stairs! Ivan is a consummate craftsman and worked diligently to make them perfect. His work ethic was amazing, working as long as needed to get the job done in time for our move to Greenwood Village. When our painter painted the stair risers he mentioned that he'd never seen such a perfect job on stairs, making the risers easy to paint. We highly recommend Ivan and this company!

James was incredibly responsive, set reasonable expectations, and then exceeded them by a mile. The team was professional, friendly, and respectful. They did a spectacular job with a very complicated and demanding project. Managed to renew badly painted red oak flooring from the mid fifties, detailing staircases, and working around inset light fixtures while keeping everything in perfect condition. They're aptly named the flooring artists and we'd recommend them in the most glowing terms.

This is a pass due review, but James and his crew re-sanded our floor back in September. I must say our floor still looks beautiful today and receive constant compliments from guests. I got quotes from a couple of different contracts, but we ended up choosing The Flooring Artists because: 1. James was very responsive, usually getting back to me within couple of hours 2. He came by and give me a quote the same day that I called him. I think this is more luck then anything, he didn't have appointment in the afternoon so he just drop by after our call. 3. They were the only contracts that could get the flooring done within a couple weeks, all other contracts that I called had a wait list and 4. Definitely one of the most important factor for all of us, which is the price, was very reasonable. I must say they did a really good job, but what made me really glad that I went with them is that they really listen and take initiative to try to make the customer happy. So, the job took three days. I came by on the first day to see how things are going and to see if the natural color of the wood is something that I liked, since I didn't want any stain (coloring) for the floor. Glad that I did, because I didn't like it, it was too pink! I told James that I was a little hesitant about the floor color being too pink. Steve, one of James crew member and the person who actually did the sanding for my house, added a tiny bit of coloring in the finishing gloss to take the pink edge off. I am glad that he did, because it looks absolutely AMAZING now! All in all I would recommend their service.

Let me share with you my experience,…read more Walter their salesman came out to give me a bid Once he found out that Home Depot had done the estimate already, he just used the amount of boxes which was about 80 for the estimate. He did no measuring or anything else. He was gone in about 10 minutes. (I needed only labor as I was purchasing the material from Home Depot.) Once we agreed on Price to have all the existing solid wood baseboard, removed the new floor put down and the baseboard put back. I agreed to the job. Pricing; I agreed on 50% down and 50% when the job was completed to maintain some control of the final product I'm very glad I did this. Their policy is to get 100% upfront, which I never recommend anyone for any service, ever do. The very next day after agreeing on terms with Walter, I got a call asking for 100% of the money I told this lady that's not what we agreed to and she said well that's what we normally do and I said you better call Walter. I'm gonna cancel the job. She did came back excepted 50% Overall, the subcontractors that came out from a company called Sun sunshine floors did a pretty good job putting in the material But it's the follow up , putting doors back on , getting trim put back on that was a real headache and took me almost 30 days to get done and also a threat of a complaint to get what I considered to be a very reasonable discount about $370 off my bill In the end, I fixed the existing problems myself because it was too much of a headache after they finally agreed to give me the discount Finally, a reminder again if you use this company, do not pay 100% upfront you'll have no control over the job over anything that needs to get fixed and you'll be working on their timetable, while they have all your money ------- Part 2 It's smart that Kelly took down her first knee jerk response to my above comment since is was inaccurate and not well researched. "Telling me I agreed not to leave public comment in agreement for the discount" -that was true if you accepted my generous offer.... the first go round. I'm going to guess that she finally got around to actually reading.... the 2nd email with my threat to file a complaint with yelp. Poof.....gone and replaced with boiler plate sorry we messed up and we should have done better. " Kelly, I wish you would have taken seriously my first initial complaint to your company and really taken the time to call me and find out what happened, Sincerely apologize, accept my generous offer and maybe even go a bit farther to make me happy and satisfied, If you had done so, we wouldn't be having this stupid engagement in the first place. Even after all that, I do hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year.

As one of the other reviewers said, these guys use subcontractors of varying quality. They had to…read morerefinish the floor 3 times because the owner insisted on sending the same crew back each time (which makes sense if using a fixed-price sub - keeps their profit intact). I communicated my concerns professionally (and almost apologetically) with the owner as we went, but I'm not sure that any of them were addressed directly with the crew - rather they were just given basic instructions at the start of each day to fix the problems from the last go 'round. I'll give them credit for trying to make it right, and the floor looks a lot better than it did when they started, but it still wasn't 100% at the end and they didn't want to listen to any more complaints. A list of items specific issues that as far as I can tell were never communicated back to the crew: - The first thing the crew leader did was take a dump in my bathroom, without asking, and made this a daily ritual. - They didn't bother to cover anything up before sanding - no sheathing between rooms, no covers over the vents - so dust was everywhere in the house. At least I had the good sense to turn off the HVAC, but still had to change the air filters several times before they finished the job. - They sanded/buffed the carpet, trashing it where the carpet meets the hardwood. - Stain was applied in some places across grain / boards rather than same direction leading to stripes (1st attempt), and inconsistently leading to dark splotches (2nd attempt). - They used my ladder (from the garage) without asking. - They left gobs of topcoat around trim and puddling elsewhere. - They did not take the time to use filler properly after the second attempt - there are dark spots around nails, knots, and where sanding was rough. - Hand sanding was quite rough in several areas leading to dark stain, especially around trim, cabinets, toilet, etc. And they didn't thoroughly clean or screen before coating in several places, leading to dirt and debris in the finish. - Stain spatter was left on the wall from brush work and flinging wet towels. The sinks were a left an absolute mess. - There was no real cleanup to speak of and patches of grass are dead in the front yard where they cleaned stain off their tools and equipment. - The "suicide cord" they were using to connect to 240V was a fire and safety hazard. After attempting to share my last round of concerns (not asking for them to redo it again but rather just trying to share some of the issues for future improvement), Anthony told me to stop looking so closely and asked, "You gonna blast us on the internet?" indicating his level of concern. For a website that touts their high level of professionalism and reputation, the crew did not reflect it. If I wasn't a professional contractor myself, then this might have been a traumatic experience. And if I knew the crew and could have hired them directly, then I would have undoubtedly paid half as much... but then they might not have redone it 3 times (especially because I would have kicked them out after the second attempt). I never asked for a discount, and one was certainly never offered. I'm leaving 2 stars because on Yelp that means it "could've been better" but for the price I paid to go with the "pros" I regret not giving one of the other bidders a chance.

Update:  It's now been 2 months since my wood floors have been resurfaced, and I'm very happy with…read morethe work.  The crew brought out the natural wood grains, and they show beautifully.  Also the hardener is fantastic.
