First of let me start by mentioning that I'm a gnocchi connoisseur. And the gnocchi legano here at piola never lets me down! I will admit, I was upset when I first saw that the Piola on the beach had closed but thanks to Yelp I found the Piola In Brickell. I came here with my boyfriend for lunch cause we were craving Italian and I was shocked when he told me he'd never been to Piola. We sat at the bar and was immediately greeted by our awesome bartender Joseph, he made great recommendations for us and my boyfriend went with the lasagna (I was dead set on the gnocchi already). Joseph also made me an amazing pineapple mint lemonade... So good. We also enjoyed a bottle of crisp Argentinian Malbec which was on special for half off, can you believe it!? The manager Jonas was very welcoming as well and checked on us a few times to see how we were doing and also let us know about all the great promotions they have! Jonas also let us know that a Piola was going to open on the beach again, can't wait for that. All in all my lunch experience was great. Food, service, and ambiance could not have been better. I have been coming to Piola for years since we live nearby. Nothing special, but they have been an OK Italian place. But the other day I ordered delivery from Piola and had a horrible experience. We ordered a Pizza and a Salad. The salad was their seafood salad, my favorite and it comes with red wine vinaigrette as dressing. We received the order after 45 minutes and found the dressing was missing. Well, this happens. OK, so I called the restaurant and ask them to bring it. Another 30 minutes passed. I had to call them again since we literally live 3 minutes away. They said it's coming soon. Well, it didn't come and another 45 minutes passed. I had to call again, and the manager said it went to the wrong address and I called to tell them I received the dressing already. Yes, he said that. Why the hell would I do that? I said I waited for two hours, being hungry already and your attitude is unacceptable. He hung up the phone. Very unprofessional and rude. Never going back there again. Complained EAT24 and they are calling the restaurant to see what happened... Not counting of them ether though. read more

Piola kinda sounds like "pee hole." But with that "A" at the end it's kinda like how an annoying middle school kid would say it. Back in middle school those kids would end everything with an "A" that sounded like "uh". Stop became "stooooop-uh." Man I hate douchie kids. Pizza is the ambrosia of the gods. You can get the whole damn food pyramid in an aptly-shaped triangle. If you're on a budget, you can forgo gourmet pizzas and Little Caesar the fuck out of your hunger. The best and manliest combination of things is hot pizza with a cold beer. That's a meal with some chest hair. Baseball players shouldn't be allowed to eat pizza and drink beer because its manliness factor is considered a performance enhancer. The Ancient Greeks used to make a primitive pizza dish, and then they would have sex with men. I know that sounds gay and all, but it's manly as hell. Think about it, gay guys fuck other guys. They're not like, "oh, women are so delicate, I want to make love to a soft woman," they're going, "I wanna fuck a dude." If you see a guy in a ring boxing against a woman and just relentlessly beating the shit out of her you'd be like "I don't like this, he's not a man, he's a coward." But if you see a guy in a ring boxing against another man, it's $90 on PPV and manly as fuck. Piola pizza is fine. It's no Spris, but it gets the job done. Whenever I eat pizza I usually order the margherita, because it's the best pizza ever. First, it's got the colors of the Italian flag; red tomatoes, white cheese, green basil. That in itself is brilliant. There are certain countries where I can't really think of a delicious, nutritious meal that utilizes all its colors. Take the American flag, for example. Red? Sure. White? OK. Blue? BZZZZZZ. Unless it's a Fruit Roll-up or one of those tri-color Popsicles nothing else exists. All those African countries with like 30 colors are fucked, because they don't have food to begin with. The pizzas at Piola are pretty large and thin. On their menu they seem to have a lot of different varieties. They'll put the abomination that is goat cheese on your pizza if you want it. They'll throw various types of meat to ruin the texture of your slice. I didn't check, but I'm willing to bet you can get pineapple on it. Pineapple. What the fuck is wrong with people? Pineapples either belong standalone, in an alcoholic beverage, or in a bowl on the head of some stereotypical Cuban bitch wearing flamboyant clothing. On pizza it's just disrespectful. In the immediate area, Piola is one of the better pizza joints around. There's Archie's which isn't as good, but then if you go a few blocks south (2 blocks, I promise) you'll get to Pieducks. Pieducks is more fast food-like, but it's better pizza. Plus they'll draw you shit on your pizza box if you get it to go. PEOPLE WHO WOULD ENJOY IT: Typical lunch crowd. So far I have only order deliveries from Piola's, but everything that i order so far has being super good and yummy :-) The pizzas are great and very close to what Brazilian pizzas are, and I love that!!!! The desserts are not very good but it's a pizza place and not a dessert place and that's good for me! They imported the European way of having so many pizzas to choose from....which is quite refreshing from the limited variety found in typical American pizza joints (think of the run of the mill pepperoni pizza, chicken and cheese, etc.). Friendly, fast, and attentive service, good Italian style pizza (i.e., not New York or Chicago), great outdoor seating area. They keep the music volume just right so you can enjoy a conversation without raising your voice. Thin crust pizzas were indeed thin, light, and had crispy edges, the way I like them. It's on a street that is somehow breezier/cooler than the other streets in the area, and the outdoor seating area is big and comfortable (as of mid-May). And something of a rarity after 3 days in Miami, they do not automatically add a tip. I truly appreciate the civility. I leave more than 18% for good service when it's left up to me. I've been here 3 times since returning to Miami-- once for takeout, twice dining in. Every time the food was excellent, and when I dined in the service was fantastic. I sat at the bar, and the bartender was very friendly and highly attentive. The food came out quickly and was great. I got the penne rosate the first time I came in, and the carpaccio nabucco and gnocchi the second time. All 3 were great. They have great specials too-- if you dine in and sit at the bar, you get 2 items on the menu for the price of one. I got my second meal (carpaccio and gnocchi) plus a Peroni for under $20. I went to go out to eat last night to Piola Brickell and as I was walking in it was very hot and humid and I went to use the restroom and I noticed I couldn't even flush the toilet nor wash my hands. It was disgusting I felt gross eating my food and it is unacceptable for a place so packed to not have any water running as we are there to enjoy our time. It was such a horrible experience I don't think I will be coming back to this place. NO pottable water for guests NOR employees!? There are several labor laws and better business bureau violates that this screams needs for better OR NEW MANAGEMENT. read more

This place is so lively. From the moment you step on in front of it your greeted by the host and the rest of the staff a you make your way to your table. Customer service deserves 5 starts. Our waiter Richard was super nice and gave us great recommendations. My dad and I are on very special food regimens so I decided to go with the Ahi Tuna Salad and he went with the Minestrone soup. Both delicious. The soup had the perfect amount of veggies and barley! Tasted truly homemade. Although my tuna seemed like it was fried instead of grilled it still tasted God and the ingredients were fresh. Right before paying our bill we realized that we could get a free pizza (Yelp Offer) so we did. Not disappointed!
