Happy hour (4-7 PM) is definitely a happy time here! Their drink of the day is buy one get one, so you bet I got the Piola Vice when I was there. It was a frozen concoction of fresh pineapple and strawberry juice with wine based liquor and it was divine. I usually stay away from frozen drinks out of fear of sugar concentrated juices, but the fresh juices made the drink such a delight. I was a happy camper knowing I had another one coming after my first one. They make wine based cocktails that aren't very far from the real deal, so it's a great way to find some favorite drinks without going down the liquor rabbit hole. I had the meatballs which came swimming in a tasty marinara with a side of crusty bread. The meatballs were seasoned just right and perfect to munch on with my drink and the red wine that came afterwards. I mopped up the sauce with the bread and have no regrets. The staff and management knew I was holding a book club meeting and gave us a beautiful partially enclosed space with a table to seat 10 people surrounded by shelves of wine that they sell. If you order a bottle and it's a red, they'll take it right off the shelf and open it for you. Sometimes they have a half off wine bottle promotion, so it's good to go and check out what they have going on! The manager Rebecca and her staff took great care of a rambunctious group of hungry and thirsty bookworms and made us feel very welcome. I used to walk past this place all the time without ever coming in and I'm sad I didn't give it a chance sooner! It's become one of my go-tos for drinks with friends. Mostly because this girl loves a spritz and they are cheap and good here. They have lots of space indoors and out. I'm partial to their lovely, rather lush patio. The servers are friendly and nice. I love that they are at the same time attentive and hands off. You can enjoy and take your time without them hovering but they are responsive if you need them. Piola, a fast upper casual place to grab some Italian food. Keep in mind that his restaurant is part of a national chain and it comes out in the quality of their work. Don't get me wrong the food isn't bad. It's just perfectly fine. The pizza is ok but missing a little bit of something in every part. Dough is flavorless and flat, sauce is saucy but unremarkable, cheese is always good and I appreciate how it's evenly spread out on the margherrita di buffala pie. We were there last night (3/9/25) and were seated inside, which was good. The restaurant was clean and well-decorated. However, we were unfortunate to have an incompetent server who forgot our main order, which was pizza. Our kids had to watch us, the parents, finish our food before their pizza arrived. To be honest, the server should use a pen and paper to jot down the orders instead of relying on memory. The worst part was that, fearing we might not tip him because of his mistake, he added an 18% gratuity for a family of four. I don't mind paying a tip and wasn't planning on skipping it, but I want to let the manager/owner know that the service was subpar last night and that the server needs more training on timing. A really good dining experience with great service. Took some clients here for a casual lunch after a meeting. We ordered the margarita pizza to share, which was really good. I ordered the chicken Caesar salad, which is one of the best Caesar salad I have had this year because the chicken was very tender. My only critique would be the salad was not cold, room temp, but maybe that's because Miami's hot during this time. Service was excellent and they serve Pellegrino with lime juice. We had to chase him down to order our main food. The lack of attention from our server kept us there longer, we had plans afterward but had to show up late because our waiter forgot about us. Not to mention they are unable to split the check which is a disappointment because it's not hard to split checks and it's not like Piola is a upscale restaurant. I use to live and work at piola back in 2014 this place was packed and the food and service amazing, I ordered a focaccia, a calamari a pizza and a pasta, Should be served 1st focaccia, them appetizer/pizza than pasta, focaccia came in had already finished the calamari, swimming in oil, the pizza and focaccia came together, he never placed the pasta order, which i end up canceling it, i had to ask for olive oil, cheese even for the side plate. He was a kind, fun, energetic man who was very welcoming. After a lengthy chat with my father, we were committed to coming for dinner. When we arrived, we were welcomed and seated on the front porch which is large and comfortable. The restaurant will tell you that their pizzas are for one person but don't be fooled...they can easily be shared with a salad and be filling. We originally stopped here because we wanted pasta for a late lunch, but the happy hour pulled us away from that plan and into pizza instead. We sat outside on their large patio to enjoy the breeze. Our server was prompt to bring water and go over the menu (though we'd already decided on cheap pizza instead).
