My husband enjoy coming to Piola's for a quick, midweek lunch; they have a great lunch special called mezzo + mezzo, where you can get half a soup or salad, and then a personal pizza, or half pasta portion. My go to is always the caesar salad (same for my husband - but he adds chicken); for pizzas, we have tried the margherita, the capri and the capricciosa and have enjoyed all of those. Additionally, I've also tried two different pastas and the cannolis here - all were delicious. A few things to note, every time we've been service has been a bit slow; food tends to come out quickly - but getting your check or asking for a refilling can take some time. We originally stopped here because we wanted pasta for a late lunch, but the happy hour pulled us away from that plan and into pizza instead. We sat outside on their large patio to enjoy the breeze. Our server was prompt to bring water and go over the menu (though we'd already decided on cheap pizza instead). During happy hour, depending on the time you go, all pizzas are basically half price or less (we're talking $6-8 for each large pizza.) I got a pineapple and ham with light sauce, where Jacob ordered something a little more fancy. Beers and wines were only $5, so I got a little white wine drunk during our visit. The white wine was actually pretty good. Pizza came up quick. I wish they had sriracha, because my pizza needed something and pepper flakes didn't cut it. But it was still delicious. Jacob loved his pizza. Mine made for great cold leftovers, but the greens on his pizza didn't translate to cold... it just got soggy and slimy. Bill was reasonable as expected. To say we were dissatisfied is an understatement. My boyfriend and I came across this place on UberEats and saw they had relatively good reviews, on yelp as well. We ordered a chicken parmigiana with spaghetti and Alfredo sauce, pappardelle with bolognese and we added meatballs. We also ordered 2 tiramisu desserts. Upon opening the container of chicken parmigiana, I noticed it did not have any sauce. When I titled the container, there was what seemed to be watered down milk splashing around the bottom of the container. Both pastas lacked seasoning and really any flavor. When I bit into the chicken, I was completely repulsed. It tasted like a frozen chicken breast that was breaded and the breading was falling right off. The tiramisu tasted old and stale. Our meal came out to almost $80 for it to go right into the trash because it was NOT edible. I reached out to Uber eats for a refund and they refused. I canceled my Uber eats pass with them and I will be disputing the charge with my bank. I'm hoping this resolves the issue and I am able to get refunded. We stopped for lunch before visiting the History Miami Museum at this location in downtown/Brickell. We had a great deal in my opinion, with the combo half pizza and salad for around $ 11. The pizza by the way is very good, definitely Italian, you can tell by the mozzarella and the light dough. We had a carafe of white wine, which because it was $ 20 I thought it was a small carafe...turned out it was 1 liter, that's a bottle and another third of a bottle. Great deal and we were pretty happy. Nice place inside, they have also a small market, really small. We came here for lunch. They have a nice and spacious outdoor patio, but since it was hot we went inside and sat at the bar. At the back of the bar there is the dining room and also a small market with imported products. That day they were offering 1 entrée free by ordering 2 drinks and 1 entrée, but we had planned to try some new HH later in the afternoon, and didn't know how big their portions are: we decided to go with their combos of 1/2 salad + 1/2 pizza. So glad we did that: if those were half portions, I can't imagine how much food you get with the regular ones! Their salads (we ordered a Cusco and a Chop Chop) were very fresh, and the pizza (we had a Capricciosa and a Margherita) tasted authentic Italian, meaning the pizza is very light and easy to digest. Unfortunately they were out of Peroni beer, so we ordered a carafe of imported Pinot Grigio. Their carafe, by the way, is an amazing deal: $20 for 1 liter (= 1 bottle plus 1/3 of a bottle). Last weekend, my brother and I visited Miami to see the Dolphins play, and our first meal during the trip was at Piola. This is my new favorite pizza place. For the most part, it was just as good. My waitress was friendly and attentive, and the restaurant space was clean. My only complaint - which was remedied when I asked for extra sauce- was that the chicken parm was lacking in marinara sauce. The chicken breast itself was tender, and flavorful with a nice layer of cheese baked in. The pasta was aldente, and just right. The added sauce made it perfect, but I'm picky that way with sauce and spice. I "uberlyfted" to the event I went before dinner, so I indulged in their sangria. We had visited Piola multiple times and the food and service is always excellent. During our last visit 2 weeks ago, Gabriel was our waiter and he delivered excellent service and recommendations. We started with the Diabla Pizza which was as good as any pizza we ever had in Italy. We loved the thin crust and perfect amounts of sauce and cheese. I was able to first try Piola during the pandemic when they were offering a great special on a weekday. We ended up ordering a Hawaiian pizza and tiramisu. The pizza is a good size to share with 2-3 people. Since our first visit we've also tried the spicy pepperoni one which was also really good. The large dining area consists of table seating with a bar counter to the left as you walk inside. When I went, the time was in the middle of the afternoon; therefore, lunch hour had passed, and service would be easy -- which it was. I grabbed a seat at the bar and ordered a pepperoni pizza, which was made in a thin crust and quite tasty. Some places are sparing with the pepperonis, while others tend to disproportionate the placement and quantity. Piola prepares the pizza with the right balance; I am happy to say. They're also super nice about making your own pasta or adding/removing what you want in the pasta. We asked for pesto sauce in our pasta and that wasn't even on the menu!
