Place was packed on a Friday night but tables move quickly. Didn't wait for more than 5 minutes for a table. Service was good, food came out quickly. Bruschetta was delicious!!! So much flavor in that dish. Pizza on the other hand was good but not great. It lacked seasoning. Also, if you make any substitutions to the pizza, they will charge you extra. We asked for mozzarella cheese on a pizza instead of Gorgonzola and they charged us an extra $3. We asked for fresh tomatoes on their margherita pizza and they charged an extra $2. Lili and myself have been wanting to try Piola for quite a while, but we always ended up at our favorite spot instead. Over Easter weekend, we decided to switch it up and finally come here. It offers a relaxing and laid back atmosphere which is always good lol. The menu here is huge, with something for everyone. The hostess that sat us was friendly and sweet. Once we were seated, it took a while for the waiter to stop by and take our drink order. When we placed our drink order, it took a while to get them. During the ordering process, Lili was asking him for recommendations and questions about some of the pizzas. He made zero recommendations and would just say, "It's good." We ended up ordering the carbonara pizza and the mac n cheese. The food came out fairly quickly and it looked delicious. The egg on top of the macaroni n cheese was perfectly poached. After trying the mac n cheese, it struck me as just meh. I'm not sure which type of cheese(s) they used, but I didn't think the flavor was there at all. Talk about being depressed lol. Lili enjoyed the mac n cheese more than I did. After being let down by the mac n cheese, I couldn't wait to dive into the pizza. The dough was fantastic. It was light, airy, thin and chewy, just how I like it. Unfortunately, for me the dough was the best part! The sauce was overly sweet for me, which tells me they don't use quality tomatoes here. The rule of thumb is if you use good tomatoes, you never need to add a drop of sugar to the sauce, because it can stand on its own in its purest form. I also found the cheese to not be good quality either :(. It just didn't have good flavor, or texture for me. Now, the ratio of cheese, sauce and toppings was absolutely perfect. This is where they executed well. Lili and I both found the pizza to just be ok at best. I just feel that it was bland and uninspiring. Also, the service wasn't good. We only saw the server three times. That was when he took our order, delivered our food and brought the check. Honestly, I usually prefer it to be that way, however, when the food isn't good, nor the service, this takes away from the overall experience in my opinion. Hence the two star rating. In conclusion, I think that I would comeback in a couple of years to give them another go. Until then, we will stick with the places that we truly enjoy. read more

This probably one of the best pizza places I've tried in awhile. This place was suggested by my brother while looking for a brunch place. Ended up here and I must say it's a pretty cool spot in Brickell. Brunch last till 4 p.m on Saturday and Sunday. $19.99 unlimited mimosas, sangria, and another drink (which I can't remember). This is definitely a plus! As well as the brunch menu, is limited but good selections. I can only speak about the brunch menu because it's the only menu I ordered from. I highly recommend the "Guadalupe pizza". The guacamole on the pizza is delicious. Must try. The service was OK, they had a-lot going on when we were seated but, it still shouldn't compromise the service which is why I decided to give it the star rating I did. We had the best pizza ever!!! The food here is fresh and delicious. Our waiter was funny while being very professional. Additionally, a tall bald guy, (we believe he is the manager) came over and asked us how we liked the pizza....he must of heard us squealing with delight over the tasty pizzas. What a nice accommodating host he was, very impressive, almost made us feel like we were is a 5 star restaurant. If you are looking for a good place for thin crust pizza, Piola fits right in. They have an incredible thin crust though and good flavor or sauce make sure to dine in. Take out is pretty good too but after a while the dough looses its crispyness, but its really good anyhow. read more

We live by here and stop by a lot for their happy hour pizza. The price of around 8 dollars is a steal. I've tried almost every single pizza on their menu, and my favourite is the Quattro formaggi. Their pasta is surprisingly good too! If you sit at the bar after 7 PM, you get 2 for 1 food. Is it the best pizza ever? Probably not, but it's pretty damn good. My significant other is from Italy and he loves this place, that gotta count for something! He really likes the Napoli there (a bit salty for my taste). They also have a pretty good Nutella pizza for dessert, I had it once and felt guilty for a week... but it was good. I like that there's barely never a line and the service is fast, so it is one of the easiest and not so expensive way to get a good bite to eat in Brickell. read more

This definitely feels like an upscale lounge and not just a pizza parlor. Feel free in fact feel semi-obligated to bust out the expensive sunglasses and designer jeans here to fit in with the rest of the diners. Fellas, please note loafers sans socks are BACK! at least at this joint, during lunch. The menu isn't skimpy in the least in fact I was thinking how will I ever know what to order and then there it was at the bottom of the menu catupiry. Yes, catupiry holds a special place in my heart and my taste buds' hearts. A generous pizza came out within 10 minutes and was piping hot and looking perfect. And perfect it was as I took the first bite and recognized the familiar mild cheese. I might add some sort of veggie next time to compliment but this is a winner as is. For dessert, I went with the Copa dessert, vanilla ice-cream, chocolate sauce, in a tapioca flour shell. The serving and sweetness are perfect especially for lunch as it isn't too heavy. Piola is perfect for it's ease and good pies. Note: I didn't say inexpensive, expect to pay about $20 per person. I'd opt for outdoor sitting but the interior is also inviting especially with it's colorful lantern lighting. They're still figuring out the Happy Hour specials. I came into Piola in hopes of ordering a salad to take back to my hotel room. So, I went in & I noticed an attractive Italian food store inside this restaurant, with lots of imported Italian condiments, pastas, focaccia breads, etc. Then, I saw a delicious looking meat lasagna being served & I decided to stay here & eat. But, my lasagna was cold in the center. I hated to send it back, but it wasn't good. The staff was very apologetic & friendly & they immediately took my plate away to be warmed. What returned was a hot lasagna with mushy noodles & severely overcooked around the edges. The flavor was OK, but I cannot recommend this restaurant's lasagna. I saw a little boy eating a Margherita pizza that looked thin & yummy. So, I ordered myself one of these too & it was wonderful; the pizza dough was delicious & crispy, tomato sauce light & flavorful & the cheese complimented this pizza perfectly! I'd return here for the pizza. I still got my salad to go. But, when I was hungry later & ready to eat it, there was no oil & vinegar salad dressing, as was promised on Piola's menu. This was one of the main ingredients mentioned on the menu for this salad , yet it was forgotten, making the dish completely unappealing. So, I instead ordered room service & Piola's dry salad remained untouched. Wow , this place definitely deserves more stars on yelp. Me, my sister, and a friend found this place due to a Wednesday Ladies Night Banner advertising unlimited wine with any entree. We took complete advantage of this offer and were given excellent service the entire night. .. Regardless how many times we requested drinks or seemed obnoxious. Five stars are dedicated to Piola for their pricing, taste, generous hospitality, atmosphere, and Wednesday night unlimited wine ! This place is a definite must if you're a college student looking for a good time to dine out with friends. You have the option to budget or spend big. Plus the option to dine inside or outside for live music. I was very impressed by the waiters and Andrew the manager who all paid close attention to keeping their customers happy and lively. Even after we paid, they continued to offer their service while we hung out. Please check this place out , it's well worth your time and money. Yesterday was my first time trying this place. Brickell has become very crowded and parking is expensive and annoying. But, it was raining and not too many people were out and about, so I found a spot and finally got to try Piola. We sat outside (completely covered area), which was very very nice. I LOVED the tables and chairs. Our server came right over and took our order. We started with some bruschetta, which was DELICIOUS. It was 4 small pieces and reasonably priced - very very tasty. We got separate pizzas because it said they were pizza for one. Come to find out, if you get an appetizer and plan on a dessert, one pizza to share is plenty (if you're absolutely starving, you may want your own pizza). My friend got one with diced tomatoes on top, and I got a regular Margarita. Both pizzas were quite delicious. I really enjoyed mine. I always order my pizza "well-done" and they did it exactly right. My crust was a little dark and crispy and that's exactly how I like it; I appreciate it when my request is honored. For dessert, we had a delicious thing. It was chocolate cake, with vanilla ice cream and drizzled in chocolate. It came in an edible cookie bowl which was really good. The cookie was similar to what a fortune cookie is made out of, but better. Really good! I went inside to use the restroom and the inside is beautiful!! (See my photos.) It is very hip inside and really nice. All the servers are friendly and pleasant. Our service was excellent. A great dining experience, no complaints. I am hoping for another rainy day so I can go back and not be bothered by the horrible parking situation in Brickell. If you don't mind paying $10 for a garage, you probably can find a space. This place was great. I went on a Tuesday and they had $3 draft beer all day! They also had a small pizza pie for $8 till 7, (not sure when that deal starts) & if you sit at the bar you get meals for buy one get one! The decor in the restaurant is cool/nice. It's wheel chair friendly! And they have outside and inside seating. Our waitress was very nice and friendly. She took care of us well and did everything right! The food was also delicious. The garlic bread (they're called something else there) was very good. I ordered a small pizza - it's thin and the crust is crunchy. One of my go-to neighborhood pizza places. Their 7 PM to close, 2 for 1 bar special is a great way to get the most pizza for your buck while also meeting other fellow pizza lovers! Plus, if you can't finish all that food by yourself, you can always share with the person sitting next to you! That said, be warned that the service at the bar is sometimes non-existent, so much so that I often have to go get a menu by myself from the hostess stand, and then find a waiter to place my order. My usual order is the carne and compagnia. For me, I love that they add chicken onto their version of a meat-lovers. However, their toppings coverage is average at best for their meats. The rest of the pizza is nothing extraordinary; the layer of cheese is thin, sauce is minimal, crust is thin and sometimes a little burnt. While the food was actually very good. Light and fluffy pizzas, and excellent guacamole, the service was non-existent. Perhaps they were understaffed or something but i had to get up 4 times to pour myself waters from the pitchers at the wait staff stations and no one said anything. Not to mention what's really foul and disgusting is they allow smoking on their patio while food is being served. Absolutely foul! I thought there was a Florida law against restaurants serving food and smoking. Who knows. But overall had that not been the case this place would live up to the 4 stars all day long. After 2 entrees "pizzas" , one guacamole , one sprite and an embarrassing $4 tip undeserved it totals out at $50 here. Sadly go across the street to Vapiano and get a far better experience, no smoking, better quality food and under $50 easy.
