This restaurant always has great service and a very pleasant atmosphere. The seafood is always fresh and prepared deliciously. The prices are fairly reasonable as well. read more

My 2 cousins and I went for dinner Monday night 03/04/2023 Nanette was our server. She had to have been one of the nicest servers I have ever had! She made sure we had everything we needed at all times even though the place was packed. She is definitely one of the sweetest most genuine people I've ever met! Also the food was immaculate ! read more

Overpriced for the quality of the food. This was our first bad meal since arriving for vacation. We spent over 2 hours there from the slow service, lack of drink refills, and horrible food. Drive to Reef Cakes in Sarasota if you want an amazing meal. Or Sharky's on the Pier. So much better than here. read more

Nice atmosphere. Very costal, seafood feel. They have booths and tables plus a bar. I had crab cakes that were full of crab. It came with 2 sides. The coleslaw was very good and the garlic mashed potatoes were delish. Dads shrimp scampi was full of shrimp and very tasty. It came with garlic bread. Moms bourbon salmon was good but suggest having the sauce on the side. It spread under the french fries making them soggy. Our waitress Laticia did a good job and the manager went around the restaurant asking how everyone's meal was. I gave it 4stars because of moms sauce and my potatoes were room temp. I had them bring me a hot order of them which they did with no problem. read more

We heard so much about Pinchers so we tried it..to the 5 of us it's just a way over priced restaurant..half of our food came out cold..the Grouper was terrible..even the fresh green beans were yuck...definitely won't be back read more

Excellent food and service! Our waitress LaCie was the best ! I had the chopped salad and blackened shrimp! Tried the raw clams too! My husband had the grilled shrimp, coleslaw and garlic mashed potatoes! Food is so fresh!!! First time here but we will be back! read more

I went back to meet family. Drinks and service were very good. Shrimp Scampi was VERY BLAND! After reading my past review, I can't believe how close this one was to reading the same. We have to take the leftovers home to "fix". We can add the flavor missing but wanted to eat at the restaurant. Damn! again read more

Excellent fun food for sharing in a lively festive atmosphere. Crab dip is insane and happy hr 2 for drinks who can beat that!

Traveling from out of town, we wanted to give the kids the experience of cracking crab legs. The wait for a table was over an hour which was fine because we joined the list on Yelp then headed to the restaurant. Service was fine, quick but not overly helpful. We ordered crab legs, it was supposed to be 4 clusters, for $42. When they came out, they were as big around as my 10 year old's pinkie. There was no meat to be found. The server brought us another one without us asking, and it was about the same size, and the meat was brown and a strange texture. We showed the manager and he agreed it didn't look right. We decided it was probably just time to go, and they brought the bill which still had $42 of crab on it. When we asked the manager he said "oh, I comped the first order for you. That's for the second one." We didn't eat any crab and the whole thing was very strange and uncomfortable. We ended up in a Chick Fil A drive thru instead. read more

Well, after trying to get into good places for lunch we ended up here, pretty empty, should of been our first CLUE! Ordered Fish & Chip's, after our first 2 order's they didn't have (Tile fish & Fried Clams) UGH, they were literally big fish sticks, and the fresh cut fries were days old & cold. 2 for 1 beers at 12:00....that was good, had to get the food down.... Server #1 was great, she became I'll, so moved on to #2 server, UGH.... Not Fun, Crappy food, nothing but really OLD people and I'm 68! Depressing and Sad! Move on, too many good restaurants to choose from!! Check....68.00......WAY OVERPRICED! read more

While on a road trip from the Northeast to Venice to swap vehicles for a friend's mother, we decided to find a seafood place for a late lunch/ early dinner. We ended up at Pinchers after finding some other place closed early on Sunday. We had no knowledge about Pinchers ahead of time besides their signage. It ended up being exactly what we were looking for. Copious servings of seafood prepared exactly the way you'd expect (and want). For appetizers, my buddy and I shared the conch fritters, grouper nuggets, and fried calamari which were all great. As mains, we both got the gulf grouper tacos (I did blackened and he went with the fried) and we both agreed they were great. We also got a shrimp scampi with pasta for his mom (to go) and she was very happy with it. Pinchers seems a "no surprises" kind of place. There were multiple large tables while we were there but it never got too loud to converse, so I'd be happy to bring my family. It probably would be a regular stop for me if I was a local. read more

I love this place I don't know why it doesn't get more stars. The coconut shrimp is great as is the ahi tuna. Not to mention the 2 for 1 drinks. It is more of a family place and a chain but the food is very good. read more

Pinchers is a great gathering place. Their American menu is slanted toward seafood but you'll find substantial meat and poultry selections as well. We are Blue Crab aficionados! Pinchers has the best variety of crab delicacies in the area. We love to order crabs by the dozen for our family and friends - just sitting out on their deck, cracking and dipping, listening to the nightly live music. Their bar is a treat - serving any drink you'd like. The evenings are laid back, no pressure to hurry on as you are treated to Southern hospitality by the staff! Be sure to join the wait list prior to arriving - they don't take reservations. read more

We love pinchers! We are local and still go here over some local spots. To be honest there is one closer in Lakewood ranch we could go to but parking's a little bit of an issue over there and it's a smaller restaurant. This restaurant however has plenty of parking a nice inside area a nice bar area and a large outdoor area It's great. I would highly recommend the Pincher Claws sauteed, they are amazing a little pricey but worth it! We have two kids so the fact that kids eat free with each adult entree that's over $14 is also pretty cool! Tony's Bigfoot Sandwich lights out! Also their green beans are really good and this may sound weird but smiley french fries are awesome! two for ones all day everyday you can't beat it All the servers are great and the restaurants are great atmosphere! read more

We were staying across the street at the Hampton Inn and able to get on the wait list before we left the hotel. After a long day at the beach it was nice to not have to drive and not wait too long once arrived. We did not do any appetizers, but did take advantage of the 2 for 1 drinks. I had a local beer (similar to Blue Moon) which was served with an orange. It was very good. I ordered the broiled gulf grouper with green beans and coleslaw. The fish was good, but the green beans were amazing. They were fresh and full of flavor. I was not expecting to enjoy the green beans so much. The fish was cooked perfectly and had good flavor as well. The kids had chicken tenders and buttered pasta and enjoyed them. It was nice that kids eat free. The only feedback I would have is on the milkshakes for the kids. We had one brought out and my daughter would not drink it since it was more like iced milk. They remade the shake and it was not much better. That would be something I would not order again. Service was great and attentive. We'd go back when we are in the area. read more

Service horrible, food ok and overly priced. Not sure what else to say, we won't be back unfortunately.

I have been dying to have Maryland blue crabs down here. I've eaten them my entire adult life. We stopped in for lunch and after searching several restaurants in the area for them, I couldn't believe they served them!!! I ordered the blue crab clusters. My wife got a salad. The crabs came nice and hot so I dug in! I noticed right away that they were overcooked and dry. That was kind of a let down. But then I tried a few more. I started tasting a strong ammonia flavor which I didn't understand. I then smelled the crabs and could smell the ammonia. It was very strong! I asked the waitress about it and she said others have reported the same and she told me that's what blue crabs smell and taste like. I've eaten these all my life and knew that wasn't true. So I googled it real quick. Oh man....crabs were bad. Likely dead and decomposed when they were cooked. That's what causes the ammonia smell!! Couldn't even think of finishing them! I hope I don't get sick from what I did eat! Needless to say I won't be going back to pinchers for blue crabs. Be careful folks and pay attention to their smell and taste if you do try them there. I'm on to the next place myself. Fries were good though. read more

We always have a good experience at Pinchers. Food is great and we always get great service at the bar

Traci was our server, and she was amazing. We had the fish fry and it did not disappoint. I will come again for sure.

Excellent service, great food, fun atmosphere . Love the 2 for one drinks. We will be back.

Great food served fast and hot. I had the fish and chips. Fish was hot and moist on the inside. Fries were hot and crispy

Service was excellent! Food was 5 star with exception of clam chowder Traci was wonderful! read more

Pinchers is a fun place to dine or just to have some beverages. We were fortunate to have Traci as our server because she was excellent. I've always wanted to try Pinchers but never found the opportunity until last night. I was excited to try the seafood that it was famous for. Their were a few upsides such as the wait, which was minimal. The restaurant was clean and decked out like a crab shack on a marina. The menu looked great and I struggled to choose my fare. I ordered the broiled scallops, my wife had the "fresh cut" sea bass, and my daughter had the kids spaghetti with garlic bread. It was a disaster. The worst food we've had in years. The sea bass was not fresh but frozen. It was blackened and appeared to be seasoned with old bay but it was tasteless. The scallops were soaked in some sort of seasoning but like the sea bass was flavorless. They couldn't even get the garlic bread right. It was seasoned with garlic and butter but the bread was chewy...I mean, they can't toast bread? First and last foe us. I can't believe they are still in business with food that bad. read more

This place is falling apart. Front door is so dirty you don't want to touch it. Seats in booths are collapsed and your butt is sitting on springs. Takes forever to get food. Menu hasn't changed in FOREVER. Been going for years but never again. read more

Stopped in for happy hour last night with my aunt and her friend who was visiting from Wisconsin & had a fairly delicious meal. Probably got there around 4:45/5ish and the place wasn't too busy so we were a bit surprised by the slower service, really the only negative of our experience. Tasty food, 2 for 1 sangria and margaritas, and 99¢ raw bar and wings. I got fried shrimp that were seasoned really well and quite delicious, opting for a side of garlic bread & their coleslaw. The bread wasn't all that warm when it came out so that was a bit disappointing, but everything else was delicious. Our server was pretty great; Whittany dealt with everything my picky aunt threw at her and handled it really well. All the random extra requests like more ranch for the wings, an extra side of garlic bread, questions about the crab in her cheesy crab dip, and so forth were well handled, & anytime my aunt had a bit of an attitude, Whittany handled it really well so kudos to her & apologies from me for the pickiness of my aunt. read more

Great service from Jared! Food was delicious especially the blackened mahi and raw oysters!

I have never had a problem here. However, tonight I had the worst experience. My waitress Chrissy spilt oyster water into my drink and then dropped and entire basket of crackers...INCLUDING the basket into my meal. I can understand accidents happen. However her reaction is what bothered me. She acted like she didn't see the water spill into my drink and after dropping the basket and crackers into my plate she said "did you at least enjoy it" with 3/4 of my sandwich and fries remaining. read more

Fried oysters were small and gritty. Crabcake was average, French fries cold and soggy and the green beans were a tad overcooked than usual. Waitstaff was fine, but really not 20% quality. It seemed to be an off evening all-around. Was there a few weeks ago for the locals special and had a much better experience. read more

So after two years I decided to try it again and I'm happy I did! Came in for lunch and was met with a very clean restaurant ( this is huge for me). Then we were seated by a very friendly staff member and then our waitress Carissa came to the table. Told her about the past experience I've had and she said let's not have that happen again! I got the chopped salad like before but this time delicious and the corn crab chowder loved it too. The whole experience was different than the previous so I'm am glad I tried it again. I will be back to try some other dishes but hope our waitress Carissa is there when we come in. read more

First time at a Pinchers. We get out a lot. At least I thought we did. We loved the food and drink specials. We love that they have a Seafood Market. We will definitely be back. We sat at the bar and our bar maid was amazing. Her name was Damaris. She did an excellent job letting us know about the restaurant. She's funny, has a overall good attitude and she loves her job. Keep up the good work Damaris. : ) read more

We love this casual restaurant. The decor is so beachy and kitschy. there is plenty of seating and the vibe is easy breezy. We ordered the small seafood tower and house margaritas. we loved the tuna tartare, and the crab claws on the seafood tower. We felt like the small seafood tower was a very well priced option. We went during happy hour so our margaritas were two for one which was amazing. The happy hour prices are definitely hard to beat. They also have kids eat free so we will be returning with our children sometime soon! read more
