Bread basket

Stopped in for an early dinner on a Saturday. We didn't have reservations but were sat immediately. Service was great! I always have a lot of questions and our server helped me navigate what to get and I was happy with my choices. The free bread basket was very good, came with butter and oil and the bread was fresh. For appetizer, I got a cup of the seafood bisque which came with a sherry topper, very yummy! For my main course, I got the shrimp and grits, it was a good portion, seasoned well, and very tasty. Lastly, I finished with the chocolate mousse for dessert. It was light, sweet, and satisfying. Definitely would recommend if you are in the area!

Food was delicious. The tuna was cooked perfectly, the cheesy grits had lots of flavor and the escargot was so tasty. Lots of gluten free options on the menu. There's a great happy hour deal on drinks. We had great service and despite being busy didn't have a super long wait without a reservation. Great location as well! Absolutely love being by the water!

The Crow's Nest Restaurant & Marina has two floors of dining. We enjoyed our afternoon lunch and drinks on the second floor porch overlooking the Marina. And there's a pub-style tavern downstairs with a full-service marina, if you like that instead. Our waiter Dustin took care of us, making sure we had everything we needed. This establishment is upscale with a casual feel to it. Very comfortable. Our drinks were perfect and so was our meal. I would recommend the raw local oysters and raw clams, the clam chowder, the seared tuna steak, the crab claws and their classic Reuben sandwich. Wait, dont forget the chocolate flourless cake! Yummm! I would go back!

The key lime pie has a home made crust. Which was soft and crunchy with good flavor. And the pie was home made as well.

The ambiance was very pleasing. Our waitress, Shelly was spot on! Our food was amazing! My wife, daughter & her husband's & myself's first time here. Was quite memorable. We'll come back. Well, it looks like I forgot to post the last review. Here's our 2nd time here. Upon walking in. The establishment is all decked out in Christmas everywhere. Looks great! The food and service again, was spot on! We were served by Jamie this time.

Crab Cakes with side vegetables and up-charged asparagus

June 2, 2025 - 2 for dinner. Our 35th Wedding Anniversary dinner. This an update to my March of 2023 first review. I will keep it short and sweet. Drinks were okay and moderately expensive. Service by Dario was an improvement over "Nick" a few years ago. Much more leisurely pace and we felt wanted as diners? Out of season as opposed to in season? Maybe that's the reason. Two people, my wife had two drinks and we each had $42 entrees. (pretty pricey quite frankly and yet we still had to be charged 2.50 for an asparagus side more?? Crazy stuff like this make you wonder sometimes. My wife grouper was a very nice piece of fish! Nicely cooked. The vegetables were good grilled numbers with a bit of variety. The green beans still firm and very nice! 8/10 My Crab Cakes were my wife's suggestion as she had been there for lunch a few days previous. Her single crab cake was very meaty and not bread filled and stuffed? Unfortunately she said my two entree crab cakes were mushy and breaded/filler gooped up. At like $15 to $20 a crab cake (on the $42 entree) plus the $2.50 asparagus upcharge????? Those were NOT worth it. The asparagus were sort of charred and I like asparagus.....also not worth it. Nor the upcharge? 5/10. It a great location, kinda tourist trap and fairly expensive. Food is just okay. Service better. Parking a pain in the ass and if you get stuck with valet just another upcharge on the night..... but easier or less expensive than going all the way to Sarasota??

Just gotta throw a shoutout to Cathy the server tonight at crows nest . She is just fantastic... I so appreciate her attention to detail and service . Made me feel so special after a long day at work myself . No words . Thank you girl!! The mahi is freaking incredible!! Crows nest Cole slaw my new favorite!!! My pain killer drink def killed the pain . It was my 3 year anniversary and it was so special thank you ! As always ambiance was perfect and we got an oversized booth that just added to feeling special!

Great view from our table over the canal of the Bay, whatever it is, but nice place to sit and eat

For last night in the Sarasota Venice area, I said to my wife out of all the restaurants we've gone to in the three weeks we've been here which one do you wanna go back to for our last night White House? Without hesitation she said the crows nest so I took her there last night and we repeated what we had the last time we split a salad and then we shared the walnut crusted salmon came with green beans and rice . For dessert I had a cup of coffee and we shared some Keylime pie, which was magnificent as usual. Everything was terrific. The waiter's name was Will and he was good the crackers and bread that we had before the dinner were also good.

Saturday evening, we invite a couple out for dinner, who lived in the area for years however, never knew of Venice's, Crow's Nest. We were greeted by Cody, our server who has the exquisite knowledge of the history, the cuisine, beverages, and assisted on guest on choosing what suited their tastes. We have been there many times and are always impressed with the menu choices. So Cody, made sure our guests were delighted with anticipation as to what was to come. Crows Nest's ambiance, views of the water inlet, boats traveling to & from made our evening even more special. What was magical, we plan to be there for the sunset which cast across the inlet splendor array of colors. Our guests had such a splendid time, from their beverages, appetizers, scrumptious dinners, we were very pleased we chose Crows Nest to entertain our dinner guests. If you live anywhere from Sarasota to Fort Meyers and you haven't been to Venice's Crow's Nest, you are definitely missing out on a gem of a fine restaurant.

Private room for ten guests for dinner?

Are you open for lunch tomorrow for lunch?

Yep they're open every day for lunch - downstairs casual pub w a bit more limited menu and upstairs w the whole deal. Go at 11:30 opening or after 2 for less busy times.

Is the seafood pot pie good?

I did not see that on their dinner menu

After golf we prefer the bar rather than the main dining room. Their bar menu has shrimp tacos, beef Wellington, mussels and ahi tuna and many other upscale meals. We do miss the live music in the lounge. Sigh. Folks if you want a fantastic meal this is where you need to go. The main dining room has a fantastic menu which includes steakhouse fare and one or two seafood dishes. The lounge has an upscale bar menu. All in all I have no idea why it was so easy to get in. I'm guessing that many Floridians were up north for the holidays.

We didn't have a reservation but were seated promptly in about 10 minutes. This must be a popular place for celebrations as we were asked by 3 different people, literally every employee we interacted with, if we were celebrating anything...tonight we were just celebrating dinner! I was prepared to splurge and spend any amount of money tonight. Started with a couple of old fashioned drinks. They had an impressive Bourbon menu, however...They didn't have the Blantons Gold, didn't have the regular Blantons, No Eagle Rare, only had enough Four Roses for one, it was hard to get anything special as the actual selection was limited. We ordered the $22 Bacon wrapped scallop appetizer and were disappointed to only get 3 very small scallops. They were good but we expected more for the price. How do 2 people split 3 tiny scallops? They came on a bed of spinach, which I enjoyed. I ordered the 11oz strip steak with blue cheese crust which was cooked as ordered and tasted fine. Nothing special, but a decent steak. My wife enjoyed the pink snapper however, she ordered rice and it came with potato wedges instead. Our server was very nice and was attentive. However the second round of drinks took too long to come to the table. Like 15 minutes too long. Our meal with appetizers and drinks and tip was around $200. We will definitely come back and I might even try their all you can eat bbq option. Maybe I'll be celebrating something...

The staff was up front right away about the sunset might not be the best, but the view and food would be great. The sun was bright and we got there early enough to enjoy the sun and beautiful view. Food was all great (Ribeye, Shrimp alfredo, Jumbo shrimp, Salmon special and ofcourse my cheeseburger with green beans. Everything was made to our taste and had some special orders (green beans no sauce, spice or salt). Adrianna was our server and kept drinks filled, had some great suggestions for meals, and let us linger and talk etc. It had a great vibe with seemed upscale but casual. Great food but pretty decent prices for the amount of food. Great evening for my humans and me!! I got a lot of smiles and greetings which also makes for a great night.
