I took my dear friend there to celebrate her birthday, and she absolutely loved it. The beachfront atmosphere is unbeatable, with gorgeous Gulf views, a fun island vibe, and the perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal. The food was fresh and delicious, the drinks were excellent, and the service was friendly and attentive from start to finish. The shrimp was good I didn't care for the unnecessary garnish, the cocktail sauce was also much sweeter than expected, was stated on the menu as spicy. This place is absolutely massive. The location can't be beat, right on the beach and at the end of the pier. They have a store as well as tons of indoor and outdoor seating. The food arrived relatively quickly and our order was correct. The portions are on the larger side and the menu has tons of options for everyone. The grouper wrap got pretty soggy, which was a bummer, but I enjoyed it. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. I think it's slightly above the average Florida touristy restaurant but the menu items are basically the same at all of them. The location and sitting outside definitely inflates this. My husband and I went to Sharky's for dinner while on our honeymoon, and unfortunately, we were really disappointed with the quality of the food. The Caesar salad was honestly one of the worst we've ever had. It was topped with shredded cheese, which was strange for a Caesar salad, and overall just wasn't good. The yellow rice very clearly tasted like it came from a bag and was extremely mushy, and my husband said his mashed potatoes were sticky and tasted like instant/artificial potatoes. What really surprised us was the drink pricing. We ordered one sweet tea and one unsweetened tea, and they were $7 each. For the prices and the location, we expected much better quality. Great views, mid food, fun drinks, super busy place. Let me start by saying that this is not my first time to Sharkey's or Fins for that matter... However, I must say that I was sadly disappointed at the table that they have at Sharkey's next to the stairs and right by the wait-staff station. The last thing people want to sit at is that table. (Of course that was the table that we were given and asked to be moved to a different spot). People don't come to a restaurant on the beach to sit by a bustling staircase and busy wait-staff station. They really need to get rid of that table altogether. There are so many wonderful views on the beach of the shoreline, or of the sunset and that table does not suffice. OK, rant over... The food is mid at Sharkey's but I'm not going there always for the food. It definitely fills the bill if you're looking for something seafood or something for everyone in your group. You would be hard-pressed to not find something on the menu. I love the choices, the cocktails are fantastic and the service is decent. Sometimes when I go to the bar area, I feel like they can't be bothered with people that just walk up off the beach to order a cocktail, but the frozen cocktails are so good that I just let that feeling pass. Always have the grouper if you're not sure what to get and you like fish since it's a staple in Florida. Remember, when you come to Sharkey's or Fin's, you come basically for the atmosphere, and you won't be disappointed, unless you get the table next to the stairs. Rating this a 4 because it was exactly what I expected. Only phrasing it that way because my partner had very different expectations I think because he grew up near a beach. We showed up around 6p and were a little worried we might not be able to get a seat but they were very organized, had a lot of space and got us seated super quick. Decided to come to Venice for the night. Googled best restaurant and Sharky's was #1. Arrived and stood in line for outside table. Not long of a wait. Sat on top deck with ocean view. Beautiful! Waitress came over and took the drink order. Once back we placed our dinner order. Ordered the tuna nachos for appetizer. Delicious can't even describe the taste. Just the right combination of ginger and wasabi to top the loaded nachos. As for dinner I ordered the lobster stuffed flounder with mashed potatoes and edamame quinoa salad. The sauce gravy on the fish was perfect with bell pepper and mushrooms. The salad was cool and delightful. Hubby ordered the blackened grouper tacos with fries. He stated that was the best grouper he has ever gotten from a restaurant and he eats a lot of fish being a charter captain. If you plan your trip right you could have dinner with a sunset. Recommend 10/10 to stop in, eat some delicious food and meet all the smiling staff at Sharky's on the water. read more

One. I never got to try the food because THIS IS NOT A DOG FRIENDLY RESTAURANT. When I told the well-seasoned hostess that it came up on Yelp as dog friendly, she bowed her head & said no, Yelp is wrong. SO CAN SOMEONE FIX THIS??? Only service dogs are allowed. No matter. We went elsewhere. I'm sure this place didn't need our money. It's packed every night with locals. And quite frankly, when I got out of the car, all I smelled was garlic. First off, I love the atmosphere and service at Sharky's on the pier. After a day looking for shark teeth it's nice to get some good grub and rehydrate while in some A/C. Some of the prices on the menu fluctuate as Mahi and Grouper menu items are market price (minus some set menu items). Ordering was a quick process, and our food came to the table hot and within good time. My wife had a bowl with blackened grouper and enjoyed every bite. I got the grouper wrap myself, a popular menu item, and I thought it was good. It was missing a bit of an x-factor for me, I felt like it needed some more of the special sauce or would taste better with blackened grouper in place of the fried grouper, but that could be more of a preference thing. read more

It was huge and sooo good. My husband got the Captain Sharky's Platter and I got the crab cake sandwich. Everything was perfect. The portion sizes are ridiculous and we left with a ton of leftovers. It's been a few years since my initial review, and after coming back, I think that maybe my last visit was just an "off day". We visited with a large group tonight, and not only was our food fresh and delicious, but we also had amazing service. I was hesitant to come back after my last visit, but we were blown away this time! We got starters - all of which we devoured. Our entrees were fantastic as well. Especially the grouper sandwich, the Aruba seafood, and the chicken sandwich. My Mom had the Ko Tao salad, and said she's never had a salad that delicious. One of the best water/ocean views in the area. Vibes are fun here! The sunsets for dinner are amazing, we always ask to set up top for the views to see the pier and sunset. Downstairs has a lot of seating and good bar area. There is a gift shop and they also have a few vendors set up on the weekends like jewelry, etc, the times we have been, so far. Staff is always great, and they check up often. The food, it is a touristy place so the food is ok. I'd give food a 3.5. Stick with the seafood dishes. Good drinks. The ambience here is amazing! We went while it was pretty busy but there was lots to do while we waited for our table. Theres a pier, a beach, and you can grab to go drinks while you walk around. They have a bunch of yummy frozen drinks, we tried the orange creamsicle drink it was delicious (& strong!!). We saw a manatee from the pier which was awesome. Today was my first time at Sharky's in years. Wife and I wanted to just go for some calamari and to hang out by the water. I love me some good calamari. This was not that. I think it was calamari only in the loosest sense of the word. It most definitely was not fresh and I am certain it was made from frozen and not even sure it was real calamari. You know how they have "imitation" crab meat? I think this was imitation calamari. I've eaten calamari countless times over the years and you always have a pile of rings of various sizes with the little tentacle pieces mixed in. These were rings of all EXACTLY the same size, which is, statistically, a near impossibility unless it was made in a factory somewhere. And they had this sort of aioli sauce that did not go well with it at all. Afterward, we thought maybe we could salvage our lunch experience by getting a draft beer at the outside bar. Went up to the window and ordered two Yuengling on draft. It was lukewarm straight out of the tap and was some of the flattest, skunkiest (is that a word?) tasting beer we've ever had. It was flat out nasty. At least there was a nice breeze blowing out at the end of the pier and it made for a nice afternoon of hanging out by the water so at least the day wasn't a total loss. read more

Parking on a Monday evening was a little tough. We actually had to park across the street. Our party of 4 intended to go to Sharky's for Bushwhackers and one of their seafood pasta dishes. Initially we ended up at Fins which is literally right on top of Sharky's. Once we realized we were in the wrong place we exited and went over to Sharky's. Once there we were escorted to a table inside and were met by a friendly waiter. Two of us ordered Bushwhackers and they were absolutely not to our liking. They were served with spoons as the entire restaurant is straw free. They were "lactose free" which was suspect to us but we moved forward with the order. Should have picked something different. No appetizers were ordered. Two of us chose the fried chicken sandwich and the other 2 had one of their 3 seafood pasta dishes. Our chicken sandwiches were decent. They were made with a full breast. Very filling. The two that got the pasta thought it was horrible. They were thinking it was going to be more of an Alfredo sauce and they both said it tasted like cream of mushroom. 4 entrees and 4 adult beverages was around $162 before the tip. read more

I really enjoyed Sharky's!!! Their patio is truly to die for, fantastic views of the gulf and right on the beach. Lots of seating and variety on their menu. Their calamari was awesome. I was really pleasantly surprised. I tried their black bean burger and that was pretty good as well! I didn't love their sweet potato fries, not enough seasoning, but it did the trick. Nothing but great things to say about this place. It's a hoppin venue and it was great to be on the water and listen to live music. They are busy as heccccc so come early and get a table. It gets really hot and there isn't a ton of shade by the band if you want to just drink and enjoy. So I would love some more shaded areas but over all service was excellent and there was never a shortage of service . The only food we had were French fries but the frozen concoctions were amazing and fairly priced. Where sunscreen and beware of the Red Tide. You can definitely feel it in this area read more

They do offer table reservations and walk-in reservations. Lunch and dinner only They don't serve breakfast. No happy hour here. "Every day is happy hour." For drinks only, there is a line at the bar for ordering. Pro tip- bring a yeti to keep your drink cold. Next door is a restaurant called fins, which is owned by the same people & has a rooftop view of the ocean. Menus for both places are slightly similar, but fins is higher scale. The lobster.artichoke dip had a good flavor and large chunks of lobster. The grilled flat bread was warm and super soft. For the main dish I ordered the chicken/shrimp drunken noodles.
