Bowl of gumbo and blackened grouper sandwich with slaw
    Brad R.

Stopped in for lunch after parasailing. This restaurant wasn't on my radar, but after hearing recommendations from the boat crew, we had to try it out. It did not disappoint! Multiple fresh catch options, nice indoor and patio spot right off of the marina. The gumbo was fantastic and loaded with shrimp and veggies. Will be back!

Mahi, mixed veggies, and black beans and rice.

My friend and I are on girls trip and decided after a long day of travel we would walk to dinner. We decided to try this place and it did not disappoint!! I ordered the mahi fish with the black beans and rice and mixed veggies. Can I just tell you huge portions! I got three pieces of mahi fish, a good portion of veggies, and a huge amount of the black beans and rice. The fish was seasoned to perfection, I didn't even tartar sauce!! The veggies were tender but not over done. The black beans and rice were amazing! If I could've eaten more I would have. They had butter and seasoning on it that made it so good! My friend got the local fish called hogfish, veggies and the black beans and rice! The hogfish is a huge filet that practically took up the whole plate. So tender and flaky. Seasoned to perfection! This place knows how to cook fish. I would recommend to everyone. They were busy and our server, Taylor, was on it. He kept our glasses filled and was very helpful with selections to eat. We sat outside, it was a little hot in the evening but it was very nice and we met the mostly friendly couple and we talked about other places to try and where to shop!

End of Ahi nachos - drowned in sweet chili sauce and many chips (wonton) stuck in clumps like other reviewers have stated
    Nicole C.

Very middling experience. ***Before you get there, know they have no liquor license - beer and wine only. We weren't going to drink, so this didn't affect our experience, but everyone should know!*** As soon as we were seated down, a fellow patron was raaaaaving about the incredible fish here. Felt like a good thing! A very happy-go-lucky server was roving and there was live music (chill). We ordered blackened fish with 2 sides and ahi nachos to start on. The nachos were not incredible, sadly. The tuna was small, lacking in quantity, and appeared very subpar in quality. I couldn't taste it because of the hefty volume of sauces and salsa piled on this dish, which overwhelmed everything (and ultimately caused the wonton chips to get soggy). The chips themselves were clumped and unevenly cooked - some quite dark/burnt and others barely kissed w frying. It was not BAD, but poorly executed and could be a really great dish! Fish that came out was good; reasonable portion, moderately blackened, but served on TOP of the side salad, making it warm and goopy. The fish was itself good but not top-tier compared to so many other options in the area. Ultimately the choices made in preparation and presentation made this an average stop for us. You could do worse as well as better!

    Corn chowder with shrimp

Lunch was delicious here. Started with the corn chowder which came with 3 lg grilled shrimps (not in pic). Then had the big Sammy fish sandwich with blackened grouper. Everything was delicious! Our server Jay was prompt, and professional. Loved sitting outside and enjoying the good weather and delicious food. The fries were good but the rice and beans were average.

Supposed to be grouper cheeks but the taste of catfish
    Linda L.

Worst experience ever Posted price was $14 we get there and it's $20 the grouper cheeks I ordered was not lightly battered as menu states and for sure other than a few pieces was catfish flavored not grouper. I hate catfish so I know as well as being a chef. Oil it was fried in was super dirty too. Too late in the night to send back and deal with BS. Real shame establishments want to post locally caught fish and nothing was fresh. We also ordered the coconut shrimp and conch fritters posted as $13 we get there and it's $17.... Not worth the upset stomach and going back to hotel disappointed for the bad choice of restaurant . Everything else is closed on Sunday night to even stop for something else

    The best ahi nachos every
    Chase H.

Five years later and we're finally back and the one thing we talked about the entire time was the ahi nachos. Happy to report they're still just as good as we remembered. Absolutely did not disappoint. My wife and I split the fish tacos and a side salad (not pictured), and the salad was actually a great size for sharing. Between the ahi nachos, shared salad, and the tacos, it ended up being the perfect amount of food for the two of us. We washed it all down with a couple local beers on tap and called it a perfect afternoon. The servers were great and even suggested a beer that paired really well with the meal, which was a nice touch. Parking is easy, and the view adds to the whole experience. You can sit back and watch boats cruising by while others are getting launched or lifted out of the water by the massive forklifts at the marina. It's just a really cool atmosphere. If you go, the ahi nachos are a must. Five years later and we'd come back again just for those.

We took the trolley to Spearfish Grille on a rainy Saturday night. There was live music, but a rowdy bachelorette party made us opt for a quieter corner table inside (they let us seat ourselves, which was great). The boatyard ambience is so cute and cozy. Since we'd already had cocktails earlier in the day, we stuck with waters and shared the BEST cup of gumbo. seriously the best we've had since New Orleans! We'll definitely be back for a full bowl next time we're in town. We also got the calamari, which came out piping hot and perfectly crispy. I loved how thin and light the breading was, not heavy or caked on. A squeeze of lemon made it delicious, though I found myself wishing for more seasoning. For our main, we went with the fish and chips. Our server (who I think may have been the manager) kindly chose the fish for us since we couldn't decide. The breading was wonderfully crisp and served steaming hot. Again, I personally wished for a little more seasoning or kick, but the freshness and preparation were spot on. From our table, we had a great view of the staff at work, and it honestly felt like watching a big family. They were laughing, chatting with guests, and training a new young team member, encouraging her and showing her the ropes. At one point, a difficult customer came in and made some rude insinuations, but the staff handled it with total grace. They stayed calm, professional, and positive, contacted the owner, resolved it smoothly, and didn't let her negativity affect the vibe. I was really impressed. The restaurant itself was very clean and well-kept, and the overall energy was so welcoming. It looks like they do an awesome to-go business as well.

Grilled smoke tuna. The thickness was over 4inched high
    Caridad L.

Wak Lied right in on a Friday evening musician was playing outside. We chose to sit inside. Specials of the Big Green Egg which we ordered: bacon wrapped scallops and a HUGE Piece of tuna. Amazing chef Erick came over and explained how he grilled the scallops and the tuna. The smoked flavor was out of this world. Also ordered blacked grouper with mashed potatoes. The fish was so fresh and tender and delicious The service was amazing Our drinks were continually being refilled and he gave great suggestions

We ordered Togo. Stopped to Fill up the boat with gas and stopped in for an order. This place was busy! My pulled pork sandwich was tasty - a bit salty but full of good flavor. Fries were good. I'm sure the fish is good. My bil had some later and he liked it fine . Lots of cool design touches inside and the outside area is nice. Our order took awhile but they let us know before hand it was very busy and would take awhile. I'd go back.

Restaurant was as advertised, thanks Yelp! Simply prepared, freshly caught fish in a casual atmosphere. I had the grilled grouper tacos blackened and they were perfectly cooked and served atop a corn and crumbled cheese mix. I also liked that they had the option of a lettuce wrap. My son had the Mac and cheese which he appreciated was not Kraft from a box. The live music was a nice touch though perhaps a bit loud to carry on a conversation. Would return if in the area.

Crispy Fried Grouper Cheeks -10/10 so good
    Whisper W.

We stopped in around 4 on a Saturday expecting it to be packed... it was not but was completely packed by the time we left. They had a man playing guitar for about 2 songs when we got there and then he was done. Feels like they should move the live entertainment to the beginning of the dinner hour. They do not make their own cocktails. So when you order a margarita off the menu, you are getting a bottle that is premade they sell at Publix for $12 a 6 pack and charge you $10 for one bottle. Our Server "Aye!" Was very nice and friendly. The grouper cheeks were the best we've had, lightly friend with a great dipping sauce. We order triple tail tacos and the fish and chips. We got the hogfish for that and it was light and great flavor with the breading. I would t get the tacos again- seemed to lack flavor that I was looking for. Overall good experience if you stick to the beer menu.

    Lobster Roll
    Erin M.

One of my absolute favorite places to eat on the Key. Their fish tacos are some of the best around. My boyfriend and I went twice on our week vacation. The first time we went I switched it up and got the lobster roll and the second time I had to get my classic fish tacos with blackened hog fish. I personally think you can't go wrong with any of their seafood!

Caitlyn - I mean you. U are not a person that that house be involved in the service industry. We spent several hours at the beach before stopping in, and despite it being a busy holiday weekend, we were understanding. The bartenders told us they were understaffed, which seemed pretty normal given the circumstances. We ordered beers and waited 20-30 minutes. When we finally asked for another round of the exact same beers, the bartender, Caitlyn, was incredibly rude. She brought the beers over, then, right in front of us, poured them out as if she were making a spectacle of the situation. A 16-year-old busser then removed them and we were asked to leave. We would have gladly accepted the beers we had already waited for and then ordered another round. Instead, we were met with hostility and a look from the bartender that was completely unnecessary. I waited tables for 15 years, so I understand how difficult the service industry can be--especially on a holiday weekend. That's exactly why this experience was so shocking. I've never had a bad experience at Curt's before, and I spend many of my free weekends here. Even the manager commented that "she's not the easiest server." I love Curt's, but I'm incredibly disappointed that they continue to employ someone who is so clearly not customer- or service-oriented. This experience was pathetic, disappointing, and completely out of character for a place I've always enjoyed. I'm honestly not sure I'll be back.

The outdoor Tiki area wrapped around the building and had a fun, relaxed vibe that made a great first impression. Our waitress, Rhonda, was excellent. She was friendly, answered all our questions, and knew the menu inside and out. What We Ordered: * Clam Chowder * Lobster Bisque * Maine Lobster Dinner with Corn on the cob and Coleslaw * Phil's Steamer Pot with half Lobster, Corn on the cob, Potatoes, Andouille Sausage, Clams, and Mussels Food Highlights: The soups came out first, and both were excellent. The Clam Chowder was topped with Bacon and Chives. It was the best we've had since moving to Florida--rich, flavorful, and satisfying. The Lobster Bisque was Creamy and equally delicious, with great flavor and tasty pieces of Bread mixed in. Our entrées arrived quickly, and we loved both dishes. The Lobster was cooked perfectly in both meals, and everything in Phil's Steamer Pot was hot, well-seasoned, and full of flavor. My wife, who is from Maine, said it was the best Lobster she has had in this area. Even the sides--the Corn on the cob and Coleslaw--were very good, and the Beer was served ice cold. One more thing each table featured a fish dip and crackers--an extra touch we really enjoyed. Fish Market and Final Verdict: Before leaving, we stepped inside to look at the Fish Market and were impressed by how fresh everything looked. The selection was large and added even more to the overall experience. This place was a pleasant surprise and delivered across the board with great Service, Food, Drinks, and Atmosphere. It easily ranks among my top 10 places to visit in the Sarasota area, and I can't wait to go back. For me, Walt's Fish Market earns 5 out of 5 stars. Gulf Coast Terry
