We had a lovely Valentine's Day dinner! I love the food and atmosphere and service. I had the Eggplant Lucarelli and my husband had the Mama's Supper with Linguini. We added the side salad's which were very sizable. Also we had the grilled artichokes which wasn't a large portion but very tasty. Our server was professional and friendly. We were promptly greeted and seated. Our server came over right away and offered drinks and had bread and butter sent to the table. She took our drink order and meal order as well. I had the linguine with seafood, very good and generous portion. My wife had the veal parmigiana which came with lemon butter sauce with rigatoni. She didn't like the marinara sauce though it was a little acidic. For dessert we had a piece of apple bread pudding to go. Very good service. read more

I usually don't give bad reviews. However, for them to pride themselves of an Italian restaurant is a big false. The first thing, this restaurant does not have olive oil for their customers. They tried to convince me, a graduate from the Culinary Institute of America that what they were serving was olive oil. To make things worse they use a local olive oil company packaging bottle to serve their oil. as to pretend it was olive oil. When my order finally arrived the breaded chicken was burnt. This only happens two ways , either they overcooked it, or they use old oil to fry it. Who ever did the cooking, has no knowledge of what they are doing. Our server was pleasant and went over the specials which we passed on. We ordered some drinks, apps, and two main dishes, which were just OK and not worth the price or second chance. Outside of Italy, Venice Florida is a wonderful place to eat old-school Italian food. In fact, there are many choices when you want to visit an Italian restaurant in this part of Florida. Your first decision is to decide what kind of Italian food you want, a pizza place, a sit at the bar,watch TV and eat pasta type place, or maybe a special occasion place. We were hosting an out-of-town guest who has traveled in Italy extensively, so we wanted to impress him a bit. Lucarelli's was our choice. Quite unassuming from the outside, the small restaurant sits in a strip mall on the 41. Inside, the vibe is New York City or Boston neighborhood upscale Italian clubhouse. And Italian wine list and traditional Italian food,all excellent. There are white tablecloth and waiters that genuinely care about your food and table service. A bottle of Super Tuscan wine got us warmed up. My meal started with a fresh Caesar salad which included anchovies. For the main course I enjoyed the veal piccata, well portioned medallions of veal that were dipped in egg and flour and simmered perfectly in a lemony butter sauce and then topped with capers and served over a bed of al dente pasta. Absolutely delicious! This is a place to eat exceptional Italian food and you might even want to consider it for a special occasion in Venice. my neighbors warned me to stay away , new owner never there and it's run by inexperienced manager. I requested my pasta to be undercooked but general manager told me to eat at Valentis restaurant. He explained that pasta is pre-made and out of their control. If you like mushy pasta this is the place for you to dine. Tommy V is not the owner, just a young inexperienced manager that does not have people skills. Social media is a wonderful format for reviews and apparently they dislike it. read more

We made reservations for 10 people and when we arrived, we were immediately seated. Drink orders were given. Dinner orders were made. Service was AWESOME!!! Lauren was our server and she was on top of her game. Prices are high here, but the food is very delicious and arrives in a large quantity. I suggest this is really a 'special occasion' dinner place. Because, it is about $35-$40 per person for dinner plus any drinks you may consume (drinks are a bit expensive compared to other restaurants). I highly recommend this establishment. read more

This was a small spot with traditional Italian options with a few twists that were part of the menu as well. The establishment was decked out in Christmas decor as that was the time of year I attended. The friendly service was appreciated and the food came out in a timely matter. There were different types of bread including a pretzel roll that started the meal. They served these types of bread with a garlic butter, good start to a wonderful meal. For an appetizer, the family style antipasto salad was ordered ($15 per person for 4-5 guests). This was served in a bowl to everybody by the staff. It was a nice size portion for each guest. It consisted of a traditional antipasto salad (Italian meats, cheeses, olives, greens). It was all very tasty and fresh. I had the Italian combo plate ($35) for my entree. It consisted of beef and cheese ravioli, a stuffed shell, a piece of manicotti, a portion of lasagna, rigatoni with a Bolognese sauce, chicken parmesan, a meatball, and sausage. It was an absolute monster of a dish. I asked the waiter how much it weighed, but he was unaware. He did tell me he never saw somebody finish the dish before, but alas, I was the first he saw finish it!! I am usually not one to get the traditional Italian choices at a restaurant, but I was tempted to try this plate that offered all. The pastas were much better than the meat here. The Bolognese was probably the best meat aspect of the dish. The red gravy was light and appetizing. For dessert, I tried the limoncello cake ($8) as well as the toasted almond cream cake ($8). I preferred the limoncello one by far here. It was light and refreshing with ton of lemon flavor, one of my favorite cakes I had in recent memory. The toasted almond cake consisted of lady fingers in amaretto with layers of soft mascarpone cream topped with crushed almonds and powdered sugar. This was alright, something seemed off. It felt like some ingredient threw me off here. Will I go back? Yes. read more

Once upon a time this restaurant was considered a place to eat, relax, and enjoy fine dining. It was a quaint experience from the moment you arrived. We were frequent visitors and enjoyed the food ambience as well as the top notch service. Somewhere along the way the Management changed and so did the restaurant. Scaling back on the menu, quantity and quality as well as the little touches that made it a pleasant evening out have changed all that. Prices have skyrocketed the quality is still good but not what it use to be. Ambience has changed and for us the quiet warm dinners of yesterday have slipped away. read more

This restaurant is now called DeLuca's. We went there last night to celebrate our birthdays. We found the place to be wonderfully decorated with the feeling of a cozy romantic atmosphere. They have a fully stocked bar and I particularly loved the little lights on the ceiling. Nice touch! The food is amazing and there is a nice variety to choose from. I believe they have kept some of the recipes from Lucarelli's so if you had a favorite it will most likely still be available. Their service is top notch, we never had to wait and look for our server, but he also knew when to give us some time to enjoy without many interruptions. If you live in Venice, or you are traveling through, you owe it to yourself to stop in and experience DeLuca's! You will not be disappointed! read more

Well another visit since I recommended this resturant to our friends We had Reservation for a Thursday night off season at 500pm We were greeted and sat down Note: There was no one else in the resturant .There was a definite vibe conveyed like they were annoyed. Ok here's where it went downhill I had raved about the Italian wedding soup ! But was told it wasn't available The alternates were chicken noodle and pastafaglio which was horrible tasting.& Disappointing ! The entrees were good However my friend ordered a pasta side and wanted asparagus and mashed potatoes They brought out rice and broccoli ? Wow, I could understand it they were busy but as. The service is top notch! Attentive and friendly wait staff and hostess. The food is very good with great flavor and prepared to your liking. We enjoyed the filet, eggplant lucarelli, lasagna, pork chop, and Sunday sauce on two visits to Lucarelli's and all were very good. I'd you want a little extra sauce on your pasta just ask. The appetizers were equally very good we had bruschetta, antipasto board, mussels and salad . The desserts were yummy... we had the tiramisu, lemoncello cake, gelato and a cannoli. The house wine is good and complements the foods we had. The restaurant has a very nice ambiance. There is plenty of parking. Um, do not recommend lasagne. A square mushy undercooked pile of over cooked pasta, spineless ricotta (I suppose), room temperature sauce drooling water from the edges, and no integrated sauce between layers of pasta. No internal color or texture! No mozzarella or Parmesan as far as I could tell. My 2 fellow diners liked their food and my wife did not want me to write this - but I did. Must be spoiled by having grown up on wonderful crusted over hearty lasagna in the Bronx. Call it NY lasagne if you will. But today, age 74, I still have plenty of teeth and do eat with them. This is my favorite restaurant in South Florida! The food is delicious, the service is great, and the ambiance just tops it all off. You can really tell the owners love their business and make sure everything is perfect for every guest. We always ask for Matt as our server and we are never disappointed. They have an excellent wine and beer selection and so many options for food. My favorites are the conch fritters, unicorn fish, and chicken piccata. You definitely can't go wrong with Lucarelli's for your special occasion or when you're just craving REALLY great food! read more

The service was very slow and the food was mediocre at best. I don't know if they have a new owner or a new chef as we have been there before and it was really good. There were five of us, and all of us thought our food was fair! My daughter-in-law ordered asparagus as a side, and it came out grossly overcook. She asked for them to give her a a less cooked one, which came out the same way, and then she replaced that broccoli which was soggy. Such a loss as this was a good place to eat. read more

Now to be honest, I only tried their spaghetti and meatballs, so maybe they have some specialty dishes but I feel like if the pasta and meatballs is just average at an Italian restaurant, the rest of the food probably ain't anything special either. The meatballs had good flavor but definitely a decent amount of filler, and the pasta wasn't homemade and didn't taste the most high quality. We've been here half a dozen times. It seems like there's a new owner recently. But it's still a reliable neighborhood favorite. Cozy feel in the booths in the back with a pleasant family restaurant feel. Great attentive service with people who look you in the eye. And the food is solid, a little nicer but still good value for money and not too fancy.
