We eat in the lounge which is cozy and we get great service. Bar tenders are nice and make a great cocktail. Looking forward to going there tonight. Service was beyond slow and poorly timed. Wife had glass of wine I had a KettleOne martini with olives. I believe it was Tito because it had the slight pepper taste of Tito. It definitely wasn't KettleOne and I've NEVER seen olives that small. Wife had a salad I had onion soup to start. Her salad was served and I waited. My wife finished her salad after sort of nursing it. I still waited. Finally got it. The Onion soup was NOT worth the wait. One of the most bland French Onion Soup I've ever had. Sorry they called it Italian Onion soup. Then the ridiculous wait for the simple entrees. Never did get the entrees because we kept waiting and had enough. Trying somewhere new, and unfortunately I wish I hadn't. After sitting for about 20 minutes, the waitress finally came to take our order--only then telling us they weren't serving pizza. We had to reorder another 10 minutes later, and from there the wait just kept getting worse. We ended up waiting about 30 minutes more for the food, which turned out to be a huge disappointment. The restaurant was clearly very understaffed, and while the waitress gave us a salad claiming she "had extra," it was obvious it was meant to make up for the excessive wait. The food itself was bland and nearly inedible--we took maybe three bites and couldn't continue. Overall, between the long waits, poor communication, and bad food, this place was a complete letdown. This is in a strip mall-so parking is easy! Great food! And a great atmosphere!! So Charming! Our server was patient to explain any menu items that we had questions about-I really appreciate that, because we came with a party of 7 and got wonderful service and suggestions. It was the first time there for all of us- one of our group got a recommendation from another friend-so none of us knew what to expect! But we were all delighted! I had the lasagna! No one ever balks at having Italian food for dinner, and everything we tried on their menu underscores this restaurant's status as a Venice classic. Located just off the island on Venice Avenue, there's plenty of convenient offstreet parking. It makes sense to dine east of the island if you can. Things are more relaxed on this side of the bridge. Once you get in the door you are greeted by an pleasant staff that dishes out gigantic portions of family style specialties. The Veal Saltimbocca burst with fresh flavors and my wife had the chicken parmigiana - it was thickly layered with tomato sauce and bubbling cheese. Both entrées were served over a bed of linguine. The wine list worked well for us as they stocked a bottle of reasonably priced Super Tuscan. This wine paired well with both our meals. As an appetizer we ate the cheese pizza and it was amazing and reasonably priced. This iconic Venice eatery is doing things right. Next time I'll save room for one of their homemade desserts. We used to eat at Valenti's when we had a place in Venice. It's been probably 4 years at least since we last ate there. Today we went back for lunch, not knowing what to expect with the mixed reviews from the last year or so. I can tell you it was even more delicious than I remember! I ordered the shrimp caprese pasta, and my husband ordered the angel hair with meat sauce and a piece of Italian sausage. Our server brought us warm bread and butter to start, and it tasted like it was just baked. Lightly crisp crust, with a dense yeasty middle that was warm enough to melt the butter we spread on it. My shrimp dish was really exceptional. 7 good sized shrimp atop linguine that was tossed with fresh mozzarella and coarsely chopped tomatoes and a lemon butter scampi sauce. The flavors were perfect together, especially the lemon in the sauce! The angel hair with meat sauce was delicious too! read more

We asked multiple times, but our order was not taken until 50 minutes after we were seated. They were only 2/3 full and had a lot of staff. The marinara sauce was extremely sweet. The menu had the Italian classics along with other interesting choices. For an appetizer, the gnocchi ($15) was ordered. This was part of the main dishes, however, we wanted the dish to start. It was a flour and potato dumpling with tomato sauce and mozzarella. The creaminess of the cheese and light tomato sauce along with the perfectly cooked gnocchi really was satisfying. This was a good start to the meal. I ordered the pork osso buco ($21?) for an entrée. This was a special they were having. It consisted of a pork shank, vegetable mix, and pasta. It reminded and smelled like a stew. This dish was huge. There was a lot of meat present. However, the meat was very plain. The meat was extremely tender, but just lacked flavor. The bottom of the shank was also cold while the rest of the dish was warm. It made me question if the dish was microwaved. It was a very disappointing osso buco. Will I go back? Probably. read more

Visited Valenti's on East Venice Avenue for pizza last week and sat in their little bar. Such a quaint atmosphere and the pizza was AMAZING. We each got a 10" pizza of a different kind and they were all amazing. You could taste that the ingredients were high quality and fresh. The bread was... I can't even describe how good the fresh bread was - served hot. Best I've had. Last night we ordered 2- 10" pizzas for curbside pickup and a Caesar Salad to share. Again, it was amazing. Decided to purchase a loaf of their bread when I picked up (made fresh twice a day) and the super friendly gentleman behind the counter suggested I try making French Toast with it - we made it this a.m. and he wasn't kidding. It was SO delicious. Valenti's will be our new go-to for a pizza fix. read more

Old school fine right. We like the ambiance and the service is always nice - it takes a team effort and in this case the team is often family members - moms, dads, kids, nephews -like that . They care. My linguini with clam sauce was just what I was looking for . Buttery , lemony and loaded up w little neck clams - a nice sauce and a wedge of garlic bread for dipping . We also had the comfort food stuffed shells . A good portion smothered in cheesy sauciness. Started with a fine caprese salad - chunks of tomatoes and creamy mozzarella and Basil splashed with olive oil and a tasty balsamic vinegar, that's where you want to be dipping your warm bread brought to the table . I was about to request a bit of olive oil for dipping when the salad appeared . Better than butter, dip your bread in said olive oil , sprinkle some grated cheese , a dash of salt and pepper and it's a good start to a meal that's 'Mangia Bene!' The food was excellent my wife had the Alfredo and was great " I stole a bite of hers " and instantly picked my next meal. I've eaten at this restaurant multiple times but tonight was my worst experience ever and I will never return to this restaurant. Given it was a holiday we understood that the restaurant was very busy. But our waitress did not take the time to make sure she had our orders correct she had to be flagged down to correct my friends order. Her dinner was very good. But mine was not our waitress was so frazzled she was not available to tell her how bad the meal was until she brought our check. We attempted to speak with the owner the little man who was walking around the restaurant. He was very rude to us and acted as if it was my fault that the meal was bad. My dinner was not comped. We went with another couple on Friday, January 26, 2024. It was not packed. We arrived at 6:15. We ordered drinks. The wine was old tasting. We ordered calamari with cocktail sauce and one person ordered a salad. The calamari came and it was over cooked and not hot! Salad arrived my friend took one forkful and there was a wrapper in the salad. We decided we needed to settle up and leave. The manager all of 18 came over and requested to see what was found in the salad. She handed him the napkin with the wrapper. With that said, no apology and we were presented with the bill for drinks and calamari.which we paid and tipped. We will never go back. Unfortunately it was a favorite of ours. This is my favorite Italian restaurant in town. I had driven by many times but never went in and instead would go to the Italian restaurants on the island. What a mistake that was because valenti's has great food! It's a family owned restaurant and everything there tastes fresh and homemade. I've had seafood, chicken, pasta, and pizza here and it's all been better than good. They really know how to flavor the food well. In season they are usually packed but it's a pretty large restaurant with a full bar so you can usually get a seat fairly quickly for a party of 4 or less. The prices are fair for what you get as they always give a large serving of whatever you order. The service can be slow most times since they get busy, but sometimes you have to sacrifice time for tasty goodness. The service ranges from good to fair but the waitstaff are always nice. One negative is they only have 2 restrooms. One stall for men and one for women so there can be a line usually for women. As for their desserts I've only had their cake and cannolis, and pignoli cookies, which I thought were just okay but I'm usually too full to even get dessert when I eat here. So I'm fine they don't have amazing desserts the food makes up for it to me. Other people I've taken here have also enjoyed coming here I definitely recommend this restaurant as it's a notch above the rest. read more

A bit of a bummer that this was our last meal in Venice this year. Loved the ambiance and the delicious looking bakery case that greeted us. The service was super slow and we seemed like an afterthought for our waitress (had to ask for bread, and instead of suggesting an additional cocktail, she just picked up my glass and said, "Are you done?") The meal was just OK. Good soup and salad, decent pizza ... my $18 scallop and shrimp entrée was a letdown. On the plus side, the portions are generous. read more

Horrible dining experience! The owner of this place is the rudest and so nasty that he should be ashamed of himself. Tried to overlook his lack of class only because they have a pasta dish that I love. Sat at a table against the wall and just as our dinners were brought to us, happened to notice a rather large cockroach climbing up the wall!! The waitress saw it and smashed her hand on the roach!! Extremely below average food that is way overpriced. The scallops we ordered were 14$ and came with maybe 5 finger nail size scallops that were clearly frozen. Alfredo was bland, the shrimp was slimy, and the chicken parm was average. On the phone when we asked for grilled shrimp they said they don't have a grill, which should have been my first clue.
