Food was top shelf, everyone seemed very happy. Our waitress Kat made all of us (18) very well-cared for. Their kitchen staff delivered meals correctly and efficiently. My spinach salad with polenta bites, pancetta, goat cheese, and grilled shrimp was super tasty.

December 24, 2025 - Three for Christmas Eve Dinner. What a Merry Christmas at Cassariano Italian Eatery!!!!! Our many thanks for being open and sparing the Lynch Family Chef the effort and especially her chief bottle, dish and glass washer and also the hand wash Waterford crystal and silverware "slave" so we could enjoy downtown Venice for a stroll and the wonderful meal!! So many things spot on and elegant here! The service by Melissa and the bus and kitchen staff is exemplary! The endless water glass, clearing used flatware per course, attentive but not intrusive checking, menu selection and advice...... and on Christmas Eve!!!! A few drinks all around, some spirit "brand limitations" and some mixology "cosmo" challenges - all resolved. We got a Melanzane alla Parmigiana (eggplant parm) appetizer for the table. Ample and even no eggplant eaters really enjoyed this treat! 9/10 My wife got the Veal Chop alla Caprese (breaded lamb chop) that she absolutely loved (and we all "shared" a bite of our meals) and it was a unanimous thumbs up. 9/10 My son, down from NY/LI for Christmas, got the Pappardelle Bolognese (flat egg noodle and a veal meat red sauce) and while the less expensive menu item was the winner for taste and flavor and the pappardelle were simply magnificent. You could not stop eating them!!! The veal meat sauce was so nice! We did together think it could be a 12/10 (smile) if the lamb meatballs were added??? But as it was a 10/10 ! I was looking for an all vegetable something maybe linguine garlic thing or some kind of saute spinach etc but there are not a lot of vegetable or side options other than broccolini and some pesto. So I went with the simple Spaghetti con Polpette di Agnello which is homemade spaghetti, lamb meatballs, goat cheese, tomatoes and I had them leave out the goat cheese (well on the side because my fellow "tasters" love goat cheese.) Like the pappardelle a homemade noodle this spaghetti was fantastic! You KNOW it when you taste it that it was cooked with prima/first water/cooked to order: this place knows and does pasta!!! The lamb meatballs (for this whole food plant based usual eater) were truly a taste treat and enjoyable food! 10/10 We had been enjoying and serving in our church Christmas service for a few hours and found it so easy to relax and enjoy the evening with the other diners and the staff at Cassariano Italian Eatery. Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas

Walking around downtown Venice and decided to stop here for dinner. The place was busy on a Tuesday night but we were seated immediately. It's much larger inside than it looks. We started with the fried green tomatoes from their regular menu and the ahi tuna special. They were both fantastic and a perfect size to share. We wished the tuna came with more than one bread crisp though. We ended up using the complimentary bread with the appetizer sauces as well. For dinner, I had the pappardelle with sausage and a mushroom sauce. The pasta was clearly homemade and delicious. There was so much sausage that I couldn't even finish it all. My parents had the sea bass and gnocchi and they both loved their choices as well. The only complaint all night was that the bread that came out for free had a butter that was very strange. None of us were fans of it but the bread rolls were fresh and warm. We will definitely come back!

Did some Christmas shopping and stopped at this great Italian restaurant in Venice. All the appetizers and main courses are always delicious! I had a Caesar salad and my wife had capuchin. I had their seafood soup for my main course. My wife had the seafood ravioli. Both were yummy For my birthday they gave me a free dessert,I chose Chocolate Mousse!! Doesn't get any better than that!!! Great service and nice interior.

Awesome all the way around! I made reservations for the wrong restaurant, but the staff fit me in within 15 minutes of my original time; truly unheard of. The appetizer was also comedically fast, I swear it arrived in under 60 seconds from the time we placed the order. Amazing! I ordered the special: a stuffed pork chop with potatoes and broccoli. I can't speak for the others at the table, but it was amazing! The broccoli was every bit as good as the pork chop. I told my vegetarian wife that if all veggies tasted this good, I wouldn't mind going vegetarian, and I'm a three steaks a week kind of guy! My only suggestion for the restaurant: train the staff more toward Michelin-style service. That's the only thing separating a rich experience from a truly wealthy one. I'll definitely be back!

Fantastic Italian dinner spot in the island! We really enjoyed both appetizers, the arancini and the friend green tomatoes! The sauce on the tomatoes was out of the world! For main courses, we all tried something different and everyone loved their choice. One of the specials tonight was a black grouper with risotto and 2 asparagus. It was fantastic and a really nice piece of fish. The veal ravioli, papardelle bolognese (veal), and the scaloppine de vitello (veal) were each incredible! The only little thing to note was that there was an interesting/potent herb used in the scaloppine vitello which was very strong in certain bites. It was good but I could see some people being put off by that herb in random bites. I can't wait to come back!

I've had lunch here a couple of times, but after dining here for dinner I now see why Cassariano is so popular. The dinner menu and preparation of food is LEVELED UP. I highly recommend the Antipasto di Mare appetizer. This has perfectly sized calamari, mussels, octopus and shrimp with a light pesto. Beautiful presentation and fresh. Hubby had the Salmone ai Ferri. The salmon was delicious but the lemon sauce and just wilted spinach made this dish a 10/10. The sea foam on top brought ooohs and ahhhs from our table. I had the eggplant stuffed ravioli which was a disappointment. Sadly, not enough filling and the ravioli was thick. The sauce was unmemorable. Service is consistently good. Nice atmosphere.

Slightly higher-end Italian spot with a comprehensive menu of both food and drinks. I came here on a Saturday night with a reservation, but they still did not have a table ready for us when we arrived. I can't fault them too much however, as they did have a sign that they were not allowing for walk-in's that evening as all of the tables were reserved. Therefore, I can only believe that people stayed at their tables longer than they were expecting. This being said, my party was told to wait by a bench outside, which was not my favorite as 1) we were lucky that the bench was available & 2) I feel like nicer restaurants should have a waiting area rather than telling their patrons (especially ones with reservations) to wait outside of the restaurant. Once we were notified that a table was ready we were asked if we were okay with moving to a table on the sidewalk outside, which we actually ended up being happy with because it was extremely loud inside of the restaurant. This being said, a man who I presume was the manager had to move the heat lamp the was next to our table away from us to be in-between us and another table as they didn't have enough for every table. This all being said, our waitress was very friendly, the service was fast, and our food was all delicious Fresh complimentary bread, but the butter that came with it was a very strange texture

This is a beautiful and cozy venue and our server Spencer was exceptional- we stopped in for lunch and we were able to be seated immediately without a wait. After Spencer introduced us to the menu and daily specials he took our drink orders after dropping off a few glasses of ice water and fresh warm rolls with whipped herb butter. We placed our lunch order which included a half Classico Parma ham Sandwich and a Caesar Salad and Penne Rustica with chopped chicken in a cream sauce. The restaurant only had a few customers so our food came out rather fast and was served at the perfect temperature. The pasta was cooked perfect and the cream sauce was silky smooth and full of flavor with an okay portion of chicken but very good - I was a little disappointed in the sandwich, the bread was fresh and the Parma ham and fresh mozzarella was spectacular unfortunately it was rather bland and the tomato was awful so I immediately removed it after looking at it - no oil or Italian dressing so it was really dried - this sandwich was definitely not what I expected from a restaurant of this quality, it could of been so much better with a little creativity from the kitchen staff in my opinion. The ceasar salad was just okay I definitely didn't care for the polenta croutons and the dressing tasted like it came from a bottle. The staff here was wonderful, hardworking and attentive, I thought the prices were reasonable and the restaurant has a great ambiance. I agree with some of the other reviews, dinner service is probably next level compared to lunch service. I'd try them again for dinner I didn't feel the kitchen staff was up to the task for lunch it definitely was not very memorable...

When a server (who has been in the restaurant industry for over 10 years) mentions to you that Venice has one of the best Italian restaurants you need to listen. This is a beautiful and inviting restaurant with outdoor seating. They do offer reservations which I encourage, but they also accept walk in traffic. I have been to Cassariano's several times before writing this review because I couldn't believe the service and food could be this impeccable. Our server, Liz is always spot on and accommodating our every request. She sets the bar high on fulfilling your expectations from drinks, to appetizers, the entrees and desserts. As you will see from my pics, the Rucola salad is stunning and delicious, and my favorite dish is the Salmone ai Ferri. It's cooked medium or medium well and the spinach and lemon are a good compliment. I love the simplicity of this entree with the foam and cayenne pepper on the rim of the plate to spice it up! Other fan favorites are the rack of lamb and of course their pasta dishes. All of their pastas are made from scratch. Truly amazing! You certainly can taste the authentic fresh ingredients! Cassariano's is my favorite Italian restaurant, and I look forward to going back and enjoying the experience. After all, it's all about the experience.

Located centrally in Venice on the main high street, this Italian restaurant has a contemporary and fresh feel along with good food. A friend and I decided to meet here for lunch. He went with a soup and sandwich which he enjoyed and I went for the breaded chicken cutlet with an arugula and tomato salad. I was impressed with my dish which was flavorful. I wish they had veal on the menu. Service was good but not too attentive. Prices were reasonable for the location.

This was an amazing dinner experience. I believe our server's name was Madison and she was super friendly. We did sit outside and it was very pleasant with a breeze, fans, and the awning over the seating area. Both of the kids started with the beef carpaccio as an appetizer. They both really enjoyed it and I even got a small piece to try and it was delicious. My husband and I both shared the polenta valdostana. It was a polenta cake with fontina cheese inside and drizzled with white truffle oil and balsamic vinegar. It was absolutely delicious. My youngest order the burrata with prosciutto for her meal. She loved the burrata and thought the prosciutto was ok. My oldest order the filet mignon and she enjoyed it. I ordered the carbonara and it was super delicious, but very rich. I had to take some home. My husband ordered the veal special for that day and said it was delicious. My only disappointment was that they didn't have any homemade limoncello that we could take home. We did get a small sample to try and it was PERFECTION! We don't get down to Venice very often, but will be back for sure when we are in the area.

It has always been our go-to. This past Sunday, our experience was deeply disappointing and frankly unlike anything we have encountered here before. We ordered two pizzas and salads. The margherita pizza -- which my parents had ordered just one week prior without any issues -- arrived completely different. It had an additional cheese layered beneath the fresh mozzarella that was overcooked and almost burnt. The crust on both pizzas was so hard it could not be folded (anyone from the East Coast knows you fold your pizza), and my son was unable to cut through it with a knife and fork. It was inedible. We sent both pizzas back. The server returned and offered to remake only one, insisting the second was fine. It was not. When we pointed out that the margherita is traditionally just fresh mozzarella, tomato sauce, and basil -- and that this was not what was served -- we were told "this is how we do it." We have been ordering this pizza for seven years. It was not how they do it. The one pizza that was remade came back only marginally better. We did not ask again. From that point, our table was completely abandoned. Every glass at our table was empty. Not the server, not a busser, not a single person passing by stopped to offer water or check on us. My father eventually had to go inside to find someone. My son had to walk to our car in the parking lot to retrieve his water bottle, and I went to my car to get a sparkling water I happened to have in the cup holder. That is how thirsty we were and how little attention our table received. The indifference started even before the food arrived. When we declined cocktails and handed back the drink list, letting the server know we would all just be having water, the reaction was visibly dismissive and unwelcoming -- not the kind of response anyone expects when simply choosing not to order alcohol. The hostess, as has been the case on prior visits, was visibly disgruntled and unwelcoming. We understand that Sunday service is busy. We were patient and did not make a scene. We simply wanted food that was edible and basic attentiveness as paying customers. Neither was provided. My mother, who has been one of their most consistent regulars, left saying she did not want to return. That says everything. For a restaurant that benefits enormously from a captive local audience and steady tourist traffic, this level of disregard for loyal, long-term customers is disappointing. We hope management takes this feedback seriously.
