The food was good. We went at 4pm and it was starting to get really busy. There was one waiter who was doing all the things! He was answering phones taking ordered, seating everyone, taking drink/food orders. He did a really good job until the other workers arrived to help him. The wood fire pizza was amazing! Despite my four-star designation -- really 3.5 stars -- it's unlikely I'll be back. But that shouldn't deter you. A friend suggested we try this relatively new restaurant for lunch. Sure, why not? I'm not chintzy or cheap -- but I DO believe in transparency and consistency in pricing. This is what I'm talking about: -- There are no side salads listed on the menu. "How much do you charge?" I asked our server, who I think is a principal. "$7" he responded. (He billed us $10.) And look at that; I pulled up their website once home; Caesar salads are listed at $6! -- When I ordered my Caesar, I asked about anchovies. (He neglected to say we'd be charged extra -- on top of the already inflated $10!) -- Entrees come with fingerling potatoes. "May I have spaghetti instead?" (Surprise! $2 upcharge for something that would be gratis anywhere else.) Our food: The salad and dressing were good. Portion was large enough to share as a starter. T enjoyed his chicken piccata because of the sauce. My marsala was eh, particularly compared to the marsala I had last week in Cape Coral. The chicken was sliced thin, but tough. The sauce could've used more mushrooms. Spinach should have more garlic. My friend liked her fettuccini alfredo but as we acknowledged at the table, alfredo is alfredo. They offer daily happy hour discounts, a nice touch. There are also well-priced bottles of wine. Good ambience and a really nice patio out front. Hands down the absolute most authentic and fantastic food EVER. I absolutely adore Marco, our waiter. He is so helpful, amazing (and easy on the eyes). He has waited on me twice and has been phenomenal. The bread is amazing the olive oil to dip it in is no joke. We had a caprese salad and the balsamic and the buffalo mozzerella is to die for. It possibly tasted fig-like. I have had farfalle with sausage in a vodka sauce both times and we had an amazing white pizza. The crust was soooo good. Brick oven. Best pizza in the area. The gnocchi was fantastic!! When they say they make their pastas fresh every day they mean it. I have been to many Italian restaurants that say they serve fresh pasta but usually find they mean fresh out of a box (dry pasta) this was not the case!! Everything about my meal was superb - I had the eggplant appetizer & gnocchi in a blue cheese & Parmesan sauce with a Italian margarita. Overall it was a very good experience at Bella Rimini. The atmosphere was nice inside and it was not busy as we went right when they opened on Friday at 3 pm. We were promptly greeted and our drinks and food were soon ordered after that. The calamari came out very fast and was not chewy and the sauce accompanied with it was very nice and tasted homemade. Then the mains came out and they were piping hot and very good. We got chicken Alfredo with pappardelle pasta and the Pasta alla vodka with Farfalle. I had their Pasta Carbonara. It was very good. I would return for this menu option alone. I am sure there are other great items also, but I tend to stick with what I know is great. We recently went to Bella Rimini for the 2nd time since our first experience was very good. This visit was uneven. We ordered 2 pizzas and one was not what we ordered. The waiter argued with my wife about what she ordered. He should not be telling us we were wrong. We know what we ordered. He eventually agreed to make the correct pizza. As for the pizza. It was good but not as good as our first visit. The crust was not crispy. When I ate some slices the next day after reheating it, it came out crispy. I'm not sure why they can't serve it crispy at the restaurant. If they can fix the crust issue and avoid arguing with the customer about what they ordered then they would get another star. read more

The food was pretty blasé and got charged two dollars because I asked to sub out Angel Hair For fingerling potatoes in my chicken scallopini. And then it was happy hour and got charged the full price for the glasses of wine. Not very happy or pleased with the food or the service. First visit went well. My beef short ribs were excellent!! My friends weren't overly thrilled with their meals (lasagna + chicken piccata) but we enjoyed the house and special salads. We were introduced to a great new Italian restaurant, Bella Rimini, recently by a friend. I believe they opened about four months ago. It's in an unobscured strip mall on 41 in Nokomis, and used to be a Mexican restaurant so a little schizophrenic inside but the food is worth the trip! Everything is made from scratch and the restaurant is very clean. They use imported Italian flour for their breads, pastas and pizzas. This time for lunch we ordered the calamari and pizzas and my husband had a squid ink pasta with crab and shrimp during a previous visit with a friend. Everything was delicious. The pizza crust was so thin, delicate, yet crispy and really flavorful! They do have happy hour specials I think from 2-6 including some drink and food specials if you're looking for that.
