This place has a lovely, intimate feel. People are relaxed and the view of the water is pleasant. Food is middle of the road, but tasty. We had a big umbrella blocking our view of the water that they said they would take down, but didn't. They probably would have if they could have. Just not enough staff. There was literally one gal serving ten tables. She did a bang-up job, but I get the feeling from the other reviews here that they are perpetually understaffed. I noticed after 45 minutes of waiting, people who checked in after us were being seated. I asked host, what happened to texting us? He said he took our number off the list. This restaurant is close to our house so we come here often. The food is always amazing and the atmosphere is great. We always leave happy, besides today. I ALWAYS give servers the benefit of the doubt but this server was so bad. Everything took forever to get and she forgot everyhing we asked for. Can't beat their bottomless mimosa weekend special and the view is very nice. I had the french toast, which was ok, but nothing special (did not taste any banana or vanilla). It did take a long time for food and checks, but we had a large group and the staff were very apologetic. The service was excellent, so friendly and always checking to make sure we were doing ok, refilling waters and drinks, etc. I would come back for drinks on a nice evening. read more

If you're looking for casual drinks on the patio, this is the right spot. Great view of the water, which is really unique in the valley. The bartenders were very friendly, but as the menu states pretty clearly, don't expect fast service. There were two bartenders servicing the entire place so it seems like they plan on being understaffed. The menu is pretty big, and they've given many of their dishes fun "nautical" names. However, it's pretty standard fare, so don't expect anything very unique from your food. I will definately be returning for drinks after I've eaten. read more

Lamb was dry and had no flavor, barely tasted like lamb. Tasted like a burnt burger. The fries were soggy and gross. Crab dip tasted fishy as if it was canned crab that they mixed cheese in. The burgers are also dry and are always burnt. Nothing I got from this place was good in any way. They don't answer the phones no matter how many times you call. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Crappy food, crappy customer service, crappy place. I had high expectations for this place but I was disappointed in every way. We have gone to this outdoor café, which is situated on one of the lakes nearby, several times. We've always enjoyed the atmosphere and the live music. The wait staff is friendly and the food is decent for bar food, but pretty overpriced. Be aware that some appetizers are really small portions and really expensive, I didn't feel they were worth the price. I still like this place, because it's really cute and comfortable! read more

There's not that many people here but the service is HORRIBLE! 3 waiters walked pass me and didn't say a word; I came in and stood there forever and wasn't sure if I was supposed to seat myself or not. I met a friend here last night for dinner, this was our first time here. I was surprised initially how fast and attentive the service was, sadly it didn't last long. Our server never came back until after we were finished with our meal. I would have loved to have a refill on my drink or some more ranch. Guess that was too much to expect. The views and setting are stunning and well worth the trip through the neighborhood to get there. The giant fans were a big detraction (kinda noisey but you can't avoid them) and the cigarette smoke from a fellow diner was gross. We will go again and hope for better service next time. I'm sure as the weather continues to cool the fans will be uncessary. Hopefully we won't encounter any smokers again. read more

One star because I have to. It's unfortunate when you can't support a local restaurant, but the service today was dismal and inexcusable. Came for the ambiance, left with nothing but a bad taste in my mouth after an HOUR AND A HALF of waiting!!! No food, had to go to the bar to get my water refilled. So decided to take my girls out for a nice meal. Subpar service server barely said a thing to us. Found a nice bug in my under seasoned chicken skewers. She took the plate back to the kitchen with the bug and then never said anything else about it. I'm in the industry specifically back of house. So I am more than understanding when stuff happens but for it to not be addressed...?I hope that they can improve and make the necessary changes until then we for sure wont be coming back. read more

Well, I'd say our visit to Pier 54 today was a "one and done" happening. Everything started off Ok as our party of 6 found an open table. We were greeted and brought water, then the drinks that we ordered. After that, it went downhill. We had a few drinks and ordered our food about a 1/2 hour after our arrival. There were only 4 other tables with people at them, and only one of those had food (which arrived before we placed our food order). After waiting at least 45 minutes, our food finally arrived. Two of us ordered their Rueben sandwich....big mistake. One side of the bread was soggy from the sauerkraut, and the corned beef was as tough as shoe leather. By this time we were starving, and didn't want to wait for something else if it was sent back. Another member of our party ordered a salmon sandwich, and was brought a salmon salad. Again, didn't want to wait forever for a replacement, so she kept it. The other 3 meals were "ok". The clincher was we were charged a 20% tip since we a party of 6.....the amount would have been much lower if had given our own tip. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. This place was absolutely terrible. I had my engagement party here and when we showed up at 11am for my reservations right when they OPEN, they stated they couldn't seat us because they're staff wasn't there on time. After 15 minutes we finally got seated for our reservations. Our waitress Savannah took after of our drink orders and completely ignored half of my party. We had to ask to get our drinks. They gave my fiancé the wrong order and then brought out the sandwich with a jalapeño on it and said they could've given him this sandwich or a raw chicken sandwich to make it faster? What kind of business is that? It was absolutely ridiculous and disrespectful to EVER say that to a customer. Then as we were trying to pay to leave they were charging us for the food my fiancé would not eat and sent back because it was wrong. They said they could only give us a 20% off his sandwich that he didn't even eat. Then they accused us of not paying after the waitress gave us all of our cards back. The owner WAS working/was the cook of at the time and never came out once to apologize for our awful service and experience. This place RUINED my engagement party, I will NEVER come back here ever again. I'm absolutely disappointed in the service and the way this place is running. I love this place but will never go there again until they let you order a grilled cheese at dinner time. The waitress said they get the same request all the time and the owner will not let them serve the grilled cheese for dinner, even if you are willing to pay the full price for a dinner item. As a vegetarian there is not much to eat, and a grilled cheese is a good go-to. It is absolutely ridiculous that I cannot eat a meal they usually offer just because of the time of day. My entire family and I would go there for dinner all the time if not for this, so they've lost a lot of business. This rule makes absolutely zero sense and is losing them a ton of business, and not just from my family, as the waitresses said many others have the same issue. Awful. read more

The food was average, with my dogs I was relegated to a small strip of the patio but, worse, I had asked that my fries not be darkly fried, which they accomodated. However, the chef saw fit to use burnt toast; actually black, on my sandwhich, turning it around so I didn't notice it until I bit into it. I told the waiter. I don't know if he bothered to report it. They certainly didn't make it up to me. Finally, there are some specials, but they are only for two people or more. As a single person, they severely limit my options in this regard. I gave the waiter a 15% tip; I've worked as waitstaff before. He had forgotten my drink. I normally tip 20% or more. Second time here. First time was ok. We are renting on the lake so it is sooo convenient. But second time was ridiculous. The burger was completely overlooked. Like foul overcooked. But the cook clearly didn't like us sending it back since we didn't get any fries the second time (we didn't eat the first - I guess we should have?!) and the second burger was clearly messed with by the "chef" who peppered the sh!t out of it in addition to overcooking it again. My girlfriend and I have dined here a handful of times during Jazz Wednesdays, mind you we both come from 8 years in the restaurant industry. We are VERY patient and understand when negative situations happen especially in restaurants, but our service tonight was absolutely horrendous. I will say from the experience our server gave us, she was either very new to serving or just simply had no idea what she was doing. Any question we asked about happy hour wines or meals she had no idea about. Which was no problem, but then our service got even worse...we were sitting with empty drinks/waters for so long we'd have to wave her down as she was leaving a table 2 feet away from us...we had to wave her down for silverware while we were eating our apps with our fingers, we had to wave her down for additional sides we asked had even asked for before the food came out...wave her down for more cocktails, and wave her down for 1 singular to go box I asked for 4 TIMES that never even came out...lol. My salad had a giant black hair (I'm a blonde) wrapped around the entire dish. We were such an easy table to take care of but we sadly felt as if we were so annoying wr didn't even bother to ask for the things we never received. As I stated above we come from hospitality and things happen but she stated the manager was only going to take off the salad and not the additional chicken for the salad...I'll just leave this here. The view is great and the live music was so wonderful!! As far as service went....I'd maybe eat somewhere before hand or plan to eat somewhere else after the music is done. Went with my daughters for breakfast, after 1.5 hours of waiting one of my daughters had to go to work, ordered her eggs to go, it took them more than half an hour for the waitress to come out of the kitchen with her to go eggs, she had to followed my girl to the parking lot, my daughter arrived late to work and of course hungry. My order wasn't good at all, chicken w/coliflower pure or i don't know what that was. Music very loud, couldn't enjoy the songs; we were all sweating by the time we had our meals served. At the end i received a strawberry covered in chocolate as a courtesy. When i bit it it was the most horrible taste as it was a lemon covered in chocolate, imagine that. My friends and I hosted a bridal shower brunch at Pier 54 and we were thrilled with our experience! Christina and her husband provided exceptional service from day one of planning. Christina meet with me in person and answered all of my questions about decorations, layout and pricing. Christina let us arrive early the day of to setup and decorate the restaurant. She, her husband and the AMAZING bartender Emily helped us set up and find us obscure things we needed. Her husband also helped me hookup a slideshow and video to all the televisions, which was a big hit! Also, Emily was truly exceptional. Her services and personality really elevated the event to another level. The bridal shower was amazing and I couldn't have been happier with the result. We served a brunch buffet and mimosas. The food was delicious and the mimosas were unlimited and a big hit! I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Pier 54 for any event hosting. Thank you Pier 54 for hosting a day my bride will never forget. read more

This place is anything but fancy but its exactly what you are looking for in a neighborhood eatery. I have tried several things on the menu and all have been pretty dang good for a small little place like this. The views over looking the lake are great and you have to love the open air environment. They occasionally have live music which can be good and bad as it sometimes is a bit too loud for the small space and well it doesn't exactly pull in top talent however still just a great neighborhood joint to grab some food and a beer. Oh and if you order $25 in food.. so basically 2 entrees and an appetizer you get a bottle of wine free. That is tough to beat right there! read more

Tonight I was part of a party of 4, told to wait 45 minutes for a table, only to check in after 50 minutes to be told, "Oh yeah sorry we didn't text you...your table is ready." Then we were seated and waited 20 minutes just for someone to take our drink order. Waited an additional 20 minutes just for the appetizers. After those were served, we never saw our waitress again. Nor did we ever receive our main entrees. We were there a good 90 minutes, just so busy visiting & catching up that we let so much time go by before we realized our food had never arrived. Meanwhile, the same waitress who had taken out order had served everyone else nearby and checked on them multiple times. I was the only Black person in my party. One of three black folks in the entire restaurant. At this time, it was after the dinner rush. The live music was over. We still had no food. When we were finally able to get anyone's attention to ask what happened to our order, all we got was an "I'm sorry" and 25% off our appetizers. No explanation of why we received no service or attention of any kind for the past 90 minutes. Now, as a black man, I can either consider this to be 1) willful discrimination or 2) maybe just negligence. In either case, our party of 4 was treated very poorly, given no explanation as to what happened with our order, and ultimately left with a bad taste in our mouth, but it wasn't from the food. My girlfriend (who happens to be Caucasian...hmmm) hyped this place up to me and couldn't brag up the place enough. She's always had great service in multiple visits prior to this one. Not this time. This was my first visit. And will also now be the last one. For both of us. If you are a person of color, you may want to avoid this spot. read more
