As per usual Pier 41 nails it every single time for the freshest most delicious seafood with phenomenal pricing. Josh behind the counter gives impressive service & ensures the whole restaurant runs smoothly. We love the whole vibe here!!

We went for the happy hour oyster specials and sat at the bar. The service was super friendly and prompt, the atmosphere relaxed, and the oysters delicious

Great food. Great Music! Bar service or table top. Small venue big flavor. We had the hush puppies and grouper bites that were delicious. Supper was the oyster and crab Po Boy. The Cajon remoulade sauce was heat and sweet! Ask for more! Pecan Pie cheesecake for dessert.

This place has went downhill and fast. If you can't handle the Biden inflation as other restaurants in Mount Pleasant just close it down!! $24 bucks for a lobster roll on white bread. Please stop eating here so we can get a new place that will care for some short period of time.

    The incorrect advertising in question

The good: the food was VERY good. Oysters were fresh, well and prepared. The fish and chips was some of the best fried fish I've ever had. Crab dip was on point. All was very good. The bad: dinner for 5 adults and 2 kids took 90 minutes. They were understaffed and slow. Additionally, when you've got 48 oysters split between 5 adults, bring more than 4 packages of crackers, one small cocktail sauce and one half portion of horseradish. Clearly we're sharing. The Ugly: When your sign next to the building is advertising $1 oysters until 6PM (and on the internet) , it better be until 6. Not 5, with a "oh, our sign is wrong"

    Our first 2 dozen!!

Pier 41 is hidden gem!! It's a little out of the regular tourist area, but they have $1 raw oysters from 3-5 pm! If you're anywhere near Mt Pleasant and love oysters... you must go. It's a quaint little place with a great vibe. The staff is friendly and upbeat. But the stars of the show are the oysters! My husband and I were looking for some raw oysters that wouldn't break the bank. Most of the touristy places were $3 and up each for oysters. So when we saw Pier 41's special happy hour on Facebook, we decided to go. Since they were so cheap, we expected tiny little oysters. But these were huge and tender. They were so fresh and silky smooth!! We had 4 dozen! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Loved this raw bar! Fantastic raw oysters, crab, shrimp, and fried calamari. Very fresh!

Asked the bartender what would be good and he suggested the Creole shrimp. That sounded good and I've learned that you generally can't go wrong going with bartenders' recommendations. Anyway, they came out and they were WAY overcooked. They were like rubber and the seasoning was NOT on point. Honestly, I make Creole / bbq shrimp at home and they're always MUCH better than what I got at The Darling. The service (with the exception of the lousy recommendation) was decent enough. If I ever go back, I'll probably stick with oysters on the half shell. (Sorry no pic. I actually took one that day, but subsequently deleted it because it was so bad.)

Other than positive... 1) two of us ordered the Mediterranean shrimp pasta (I think that's what it was called). The shrimp was not cooked through on both of our dishes. Not slightly under - REALLY under. A TAD pink but mostly still gray. the pasta was only slightly warm too - just a lose lose. 2) The she crab soup was NOT good. 3) Grouper po boy. The Positive is that the grouper was decent however it was impossible to eat. Bun piled w/things. Seems like a good problem but not fun to try to eat as a handheld. 4) Music - Dean Martin and so forth being played in the dining room - great. Good vibe. For some reason that stopped and all we could hear was Tool being played loudly in the kitchen. The door to the kitchen was open and what I can only assume were managers were sitting on their computers at a high top right by us (I say that bc they went in and out of the kitchen and one was in chef like clothes). Why they didn't shut it down is beyond me. Overall disappointed.

My first choice had a two hour wait and I wasn't wild about that after walking the city's streets. ( that didn't sound right, lol) I didn't find the menu had changed that much , but was disappointed that they had zero fish or soup or anything specials. But they had what I came for. We shared their two raw oyster specials and the Beys Blades were some of the tastiest oysters ever!!! The others were outstanding as well, but we forgot the name. The cold steamed shrimp were delicious and cooked perfectly. But my favorite and always will be are is the fried oyster po boy. They cook those oysters perfectly. The batter isn't so thick that you can't taste the oyster's incredible flavor and the verde sauce and cabbage give it an extra boost. My daughter says that next time there will be no splitting. Lots of servers and a bar tender that warmed up as dinner went on. The bar was comfortable, clean and a well organized. i selected four Rochambeau oysters from back home, and the shuckers plated them well. Yum. For dinner I selected the tilefish and it was just as the menu said.... Golden. Perfectly cooked, plated with small potatoes and a sauce with micro greens and caviar. I had to ask for bread to sop up all its goodness. The small potatoes were undercooked which was disappointing but not a deal breaker. The only thing wrong with the entree really. One suggestion to the chef: serve it with the toasted baguette! Don't let that sauce go to waste!!! I had a glass of Dashwood SB with my meal that was a bit bitter with the entree but was a healthy pour and chilled just right. For dessert: the rhubarb and strawberry cobbler was served warm and , by request, without ice cream. I have one complaint: it wasn't enough! Rhubarb tangy and strawberries sweet. Excellent paired with Bailey's over ice. Thankyou for a great starter to a week in Charleston!!
